• KEEP GROWING

The Next Step — Discipleship: Grow in Christ

This week, we’ve learned to pray, read God’s Word, listen for His direction, worship, and turn back to God through repentance.

    But discipleship doesn’t stop there.

    2 Peter 3:18
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey of growth. We grow through prayer, Scripture, obedience, fellowship, service, and trusting God through every season.

You don't have to become perfect overnight. Keep taking the next step.

    Your challenge today:
    Ask yourself:

“What is one area of my life where God wants me to grow?”

Choose one practical step and begin today.

    Prayer:
“Lord, help me grow deeper in my relationship with You. Give me the desire to know Your Word, obey Your voice, and become more like Christ every day. Amen.”

    Remember:
Growth may be slow, but every step closer to Jesus matters.

Question: What area of your Christian life do you want to grow in most?

  • A HEART THAT TURNS BACK TO GOD

30 Days — DISCIPLESHIP: Grow in Christ

Following Jesus means allowing Him to change us. One important part of that growth is repentance.

    1 John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Repentance isn't simply feeling bad about what we've done.

It means turning away from sin and turning back to God.

As we grow in Christ, God reveals attitudes, habits, words, and choices that don't reflect Him. When He does, don't hide. Don't make excuses.

    Bring it to Him.

    Confess it.
    Receive His forgiveness.
    Turn away from it.
    Keep walking with Jesus.

You may stumble, but failure doesn't mean you have to stay down.

    Your challenge today:

Spend a few quiet minutes asking:

"Lord, is there anything in my life that I need to surrender to You?"

Be honest with God. Confess what He brings to your heart and take one practical step away from it.

    Prayer:
"Lord, give me a humble heart that is willing to change. Help me turn away from what separates me from You and walk faithfully with Christ. Amen."

    Remember:

Repentance isn't moving away from God. It's turning back toward Him.

Question: What helps you stay accountable when you know God is asking you to change?

  • WORSHIP WITH YOUR LIFE

30 Days — DISCIPLESHIP: Grow in Christ

We’ve learned to build our relationship with God, pray, read His Word, and listen for His direction.

Today, we take another step: worship.

    Romans 12:1
"Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."

Worship isn't only what happens when we sing in church.

    Worship is how we live.

We worship God when we obey Him, love others, make godly choices, use our gifts to serve, and honor Him in our work, school, relationships, and private lives.

You can sing beautiful songs and still miss the heart of worship.

True worship happens when our lives reflect the One we say we follow.

    Your challenge today:

    Before making a decision, ask:

    "Does this honor God?"

Choose one area of your life—your words, relationships, work, social media, finances, or habits—and intentionally surrender it to God today.

    Prayer:
"Lord, help me worship You not only with my words but with my whole life. May my choices, actions, and character bring You glory. Amen."

    Remember:

Worship isn't just a song you sing. It's a life you surrender.

Question: What is one area of your life you want to surrender more fully to God?

  • LEARNING TO HEAR GOD

30 Days — DISCIPLESHIP: Grow in Christ

We’ve learned to pray and to let God’s Word shape us. Today, we take another step: learning to recognize God’s voice.

    John 10:27
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me."

The world is full of voices—friends, social media, emotions, fears, and our own desires. So how do we know what is truly from God?

    Start with Scripture.

God will never lead you against His Word. His guidance draws us toward truth, obedience, love, wisdom, and Christlikeness.

Sometimes God guides through Scripture. Sometimes through godly counsel, circumstances, or a growing sense of clarity as we pray. And sometimes, we simply need to wait.

Not every feeling is God's direction. Not every opportunity is God's will.

    Your challenge today:

Read John 10:27–28 slowly and pray:

"Lord Jesus, help me recognize Your voice and follow You. Give me wisdom to distinguish Your truth from my own desires. Amen."

Think about one area where you need God's direction. Pray. Search His Word. Seek godly wisdom. Wait. Then obey what He makes clear.

    Remember:

The closer we walk with Jesus, the more we learn to recognize the Shepherd's voice.

Question: What is one area of your life where you need God's direction today?

  • LET GOD’S WORD SHAPE YOU

30 Days — DISCIPLESHIP: Grow in Christ

Yesterday, we talked about prayer—learning to talk with God.

Today, we take another important step:

Learning to listen to God through His Word.

    2 Timothy 3:16–17

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."

The Bible isn't simply an old book filled with stories.

It reveals who God is, what He has done, what He desires for us, and how we should live.

If we want to grow in Christ, we cannot depend only on what we hear from other people. We need to develop our own relationship with God's Word.

    Think about it this way:

Prayer is how we talk to God.
Scripture helps us hear His truth.
    Obedience is how we respond.

Sometimes we ask God for direction while ignoring the guidance He has already given us in Scripture.

God's Word teaches us how to love, forgive, handle temptation, make wise decisions, treat people, manage our words, deal with difficult seasons, and remain faithful when following Christ becomes challenging.

But reading the Bible isn't about completing chapters just to say, "I finished my reading."

    The goal is transformation.

    Don't only ask:

"How many verses did I read today?"

    Also ask:

"What is God teaching me, and how should I live differently because of it?"

Even one verse can change the way you think.

One passage can correct your direction.

One truth from Scripture can give you strength when you're struggling.

One promise can remind you that God has not abandoned you.

    Your challenge today:

Set aside 15 minutes and read Psalm 119:9–16.

    Read it slowly.

Choose one verse that speaks to you.

    Write it down.

    Then ask yourself:

    1. What is this verse teaching me?
    2. What does it reveal about God?
    3. How can I apply it today?

    Finally, pray:

"Lord, help me not only to read Your Word but to live it. Shape my thoughts, my decisions, my character, and my life through Your truth."

    Remember:

A disciple doesn't simply know God's Word. A disciple allows God's Word to change the way they live.

    Keep your Bible close.
    Keep your heart open.
    Keep growing in Christ.

Read it. Reflect on it. Apply it. Live it.

Question: What Bible verse has had the greatest impact on your life, and why?

  • TALK WITH GOD

    DISCIPLESHIP: Grow in Christ

Yesterday, we talked about starting with our relationship with God.

Today, we take the next step: PRAYER.

Prayer is more than asking God for things. It is an opportunity to talk with God, listen to Him, thank Him, worship Him, confess our struggles, and bring our lives before Him.

    Philippians 4:6–7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

God wants us to come to Him—not only when life is difficult, but every day.

When you are happy, talk to Him.
When you are confused, talk to Him.
When you are afraid, talk to Him.
When you have made a mistake, talk to Him.
When you don't know what to do, talk to Him.

    You don't need impressive words.

You don't need a special location.

You don't need to pretend that everything is fine.

    Come to God honestly.

Prayer is where we learn to depend on God instead of depending only on ourselves.

Sometimes God answers immediately. Sometimes we have to wait. Sometimes His answer is different from what we expected.

But prayer teaches us something important:

God is not just interested in changing our circumstances. He is also interested in changing us.

As we pray, God can give us peace when circumstances haven't changed, wisdom when we don't know what to do, strength when we feel weak, and courage to keep following Him.

    Your challenge today:

Set aside 10 minutes to pray without distractions.

    Don't rush.

Start by thanking God for three things. Then tell Him honestly about your worries, plans, struggles, and desires.

    Finally, ask:

"Lord, what do You want me to learn, change, or surrender as I follow You?"

Then spend a few quiet moments listening and reflecting on His Word.

    Remember:

    Prayer isn't a performance. It's a relationship.

The more time we spend with God, the more we learn to trust Him and recognize His direction.

Talk to God. Trust God. Walk with God.

Question: What is one thing you want to talk to God about today?
