There are many contemporary cases of revival in addition to the one in Bible days. Jonah was used by God to bring Revival to the people of Nineveh where all the 120,000 inhabitants got convicted and converted. There were revivals in Israel during the time of king Hezekiah and Josiah. The Early Church also experienced great revival immediately after the Pentecost. When there is spiritual coldness and indifference to spiritual things, when there is no clear distinction between the world and the Church, when saints are distracted from heavenly desire to earthly preoccupation, then revival is needed. When the saints are weak, powerless and fainting in scriptural conviction and consecration, then we need revival. When formalism and entertainment fill our worship instead of true and holy devotion to God and heavenly things, revival is needed. In order to experience revival, there must be deep concern and burden for prayer coupled with passion for revival. It takes a revived person to be an instrument of revival. *1. The Man of Prayer* a. The man God uses must be a man of bended knees with power of prayer. *"A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.”* Habakkuk was not merely a prophet who preached; he was also a man who prayed. His direct communication with God was not clogged. God could express His mind and vision to him clearly and He also could hear from God and communicate with God effectively and fruitfully. He was a true servant of God that stood between God and man as mediator. He lived a life that was pleasing to God and God could speak to him about people. He dwelt in the midst of compromised and corrupted people without being defiled and with boldness to declare unto them their sins and evil as God had told him without fear or favour. His response to the difficult circumstances surrounding Judah was to seek God. The spiritual condition of a nation should drive God's servants to their knees. Revival begins when someone becomes sufficiently burdened to pray as he comes out of the cocoon of self seeking and self satisfaction. b. There is no revival that ever came in human history without people who had the passion and power of prayer from God. Habakkuk's prayer demonstrates that prayer is not a sign of weakness, but an expression of dependence upon the Almighty. The revival God wants to bring may begin with one person who is willing to stand before Him in persistent intercession. Churches need prayer warriors who will carry the burden of their generation before God. The praying saints or warriors that bring revival concentrate their prayers on heavenly things and not on earthly benefits and blessings. Earnest, consistent and persistent prayers by holy people with deep burden and passion for the glory of God, salvation of souls and perfection of saints are indispensable to a true God sent revival. *Question* Am I sufficiently burdened by the spiritual condition of my generation to become a man or woman of prayer? *2. The Manifestation of Passion* *"O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid"*. Habakkuk's prayer reveals intense spiritual passion. Having heard God's Word and understood His dealings with His people, he was moved deeply. He was such a person that was not indifferent to the Word of God. The Word of God moved, burned and melted his heart. It became fire in his bones that only revival could quench. First he heard the voice of God. Second he was afraid. He was like Noah who, after hearing the Word of God, believed and *"being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house"* (Hebrews 11:7). True passion for God is not passive. It actively engages in things that will bring change and revival. b. Passion for revival means longing to see God glorified, sinners saved, believers renewed and righteousness restored. Habakkuk did not ask God merely to improve circumstances; he asked Him to revive His work. True revival passion is therefore God-centred rather than man-centred. We must pray until spiritual hunger replaces spiritual complacency. *Question* Does my prayer life demonstrate a genuine passion for God to revive His work in my generation? *3. The Mercy from the Potentate* a. What does this world need desperately from God? Mercy! The degree of worldliness and ungodliness are inexcusable. Man deliberately lives his life, spurning His Word and commandments as if God does not exist. Saints' lives are soiled with carnality, worldliness and corruption. Their focus has shifted from serving the Lord to what mundane things the Lord will give to them. b. Passionate prayer for the mercy of God is an indication that we accept that God has been offended and He is angry at us because of our coldness and carnality. It should always be a prayer point constantly. *“In the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”* Habakkuk recognized God as the sovereign Potentate who has authority to judge, revive, restore and show mercy. He therefore pleaded, *“in wrath remember mercy.”* Revival cannot be manufactured by human ability; it must come through divine mercy and sovereign intervention. The prophet understood that although God's people might deserve judgment, God's mercy could provide restoration. This should encourage us to approach God humbly and plead for mercy upon the Church, families, communities, and nations. When God shows mercy, dry bones can live again, cold hearts can burn again and His work can flourish again. *Question* Am I humbly pleading with the sovereign God to remember mercy and revive His work in our generation? 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 “Let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.” — Esther 7:3 Esther had prepared for this moment. She had fasted. She had approached the king. She had carefully arranged the banquet. She understood the seriousness of standing before the king, knowing that her life itself could be at risk. But preparation was not the destination. There came a moment when Esther had to speak. When the king asked, “What is thy petition?”, Esther did not use her position for comfort, preservation, or personal advantage. She revealed the reality facing her people: “We are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish.” — Esther 7:4 Esther saw something that others could have overlooked. She understood that Haman's decree was not merely a political decision. It was an attack upon the future and existence of an entire people. She looked at her generation through the lens of history, present reality, and future destiny. She knew who her people were. She understood what had been decreed against them. And she recognized what would happen if nothing was done. 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁: There is a spiritual lesson here for us. We also live in a generation where the enemy works through subtlety, deception, distraction, and the distortion of truth. The consequences are not always immediately visible. Yet Scripture tells us that the ultimate enemy of humanity seeks destruction. Esther's discernment teaches us that God's people must not merely observe what is happening around them. We must learn to see. To see history. To see the condition of the present generation. To see where the present direction is leading. And above all, to see God's purposes in the midst of it. Esther could have remained silent. After all, she was queen. Perhaps she could have protected herself and allowed the decree to take its course. But she understood that her position was not merely a privilege. It was an opportunity for mission. Esther had prepared herself, but eventually preparation had to produce action. There comes a moment when prayer must become obedience, conviction must become testimony, and preparation must become courageous speech. Esther's petition was not simply, “Save me.” It was: “Save me—and save my people.” Her identification with her people is striking. Their suffering became her concern. Their threatened future became her burden. This points us toward Jesus. Christ did not remain distant from humanity's condition. He entered into it. He took upon Himself our humanity, bore our sins upon the cross, and gave His life so that those under the sentence of death might receive eternal life. The gospel tells us that humanity's greatest enemy is not ultimately Haman, a government, a culture, or another human being. It is sin and death. But the story does not end with the decree. There is a King. There is a Redeemer. There is a deliverance. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗺𝘆'𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀: Haman had prepared gallows for Mordecai. But in the providence of God, the very instrument Haman prepared for the destruction of God's servant became the instrument of Haman's own judgment. Then Harbonah spoke: “Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai...” — Esther 7:9 Harbonah's observation seems small, but it becomes part of the turning point. Someone saw. Someone spoke. Someone pointed out what the enemy had prepared. And the king acted. This reminds us that even when darkness appears to have the advantage, God has not abandoned His work in the earth. There are still witnesses. There are still people whom the Holy Spirit is awakening. There are still voices pointing people toward truth. There are still people being led to see Jesus. And there is still a promise hanging over history: “I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” — John 14:3 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀: Esther's generation faced an enemy who wanted them destroyed. Our generation faces the reality of sin, deception, suffering, and death. But our calling is not to live in fear of the enemy. Our calling is to see clearly, remain faithful, and speak when God gives us the opportunity. We are not promised that every generation will become easier. We are promised that Jesus is coming again. Therefore, while we wait, we keep our eyes upon Him. We remain faithful to His Word. We allow the Holy Spirit to sharpen our spiritual discernment. And when the moment comes to speak, we remember Esther: The position God has given us is not merely for our preservation. It is an opportunity to glorify Christ and serve others. Until the day our King returns, He has entrusted His Church with the ministry of reconciliation. We are called to proclaim the gospel, make disciples of all nations, love our neighbors, pray for our communities, and faithfully carry out every responsibility He has placed before us. Like Esther, we have been placed in this generation by God's providence. Like Mordecai, we are called to remain faithful even when obedience is costly. Like Harbonah, we must not remain silent when truth needs to be spoken. But above all, we look to Jesus Christ, the greater Deliverer. Esther risked her life before an earthly king. Jesus willingly laid down His life before the King of heaven to accomplish the Father's will. Esther interceded for a nation under the sentence of death. Jesus intercedes for all who come to God through Him, having secured salvation by His finished work on the cross. One day every earthly kingdom will pass away. Every decree of wickedness will be overturned. Every injustice will be judged. Every tear will be wiped away. The King who once came in humility will return in glory. Until then, may we not waste the place, time, or opportunities God has given us. May we watch and pray. May we search the Scriptures daily. May we worship Christ with thankful hearts. May we encourage His people. May we faithfully share the good news while there is still time. And may our lives continually declare: "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." SWIFT AGAINST THE TIDE. We are living in a season where God's desire has been overlooked and people have put their own desires on the front line. They don't care who will suffer or what the generations behind will follow. The Book of ‭Philippians 3:19 NIV ... describes such as this...Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. This is very clear on every generation. Now many of them are embedded in our systems of life, families, workplaces , Churches and all-over. They seem like we are on the same tide but in reality the Book of Philippians discuss them deeply which serves as a clear definition of their hearts. Their one satisfaction, their own Glory and their achievements. Many are clothed in different genders , titles , activities and attributes which the heart doesn't recollect or bear witness. We have come to a season where this had gone too far that the damage is unbearable. God has waited for those called to stand but the delay is heavy. Well when such times comes, God summons one who are ready to appear without delay in the battlefield. What we need to know is that Mercy cry is a very deep private thing that many women have carried deep within their hearts, in little whispers when their eyes see God's creation. And this time when tears dry up and fades away this means the battlefields has been prepared. This comes after the inner desire to claim by force every life which has been entrusted to them. Only God can summon the heart of a woman to the battlefield. The time is now because only a woman can move against the tide . Yes these tides are merciless and they are leaving traces everywhere, which only can be identified by a woman. But God is the one who owns it all. And because of this the summoning has began and it's already here. Remember the hand that quietly wept for mercy can swiftly ask for judgement. It's is the Lord who grants them all and to the Him who is positioned to the doing of the Father's at that time. God overlooks our ignorance but He demands everyone to repent.. The season of moving against the tides to save her offspring is at hand. Because this is not her agenda but God's agenda. Her move is God's move. Indeed its the Lord who teaches our hands for war. Continuation chapter 3.2 Jesus Himself warned about the internal bake-off when He said, "Out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander." (Matthew 15:19). He didn't say these things come from the devil, though the devil is happy to RSVP to the bake-off and bring a plus-one. He said they come from the heart. The same heart that sings worship songs. The same heart that gets goosebumps during the sermon. The same heart that just volunteered for the nursery. That heart is fully capable of producing evil thoughts and then presenting them as noble, justified, and even godly. It's a factory, and the machinery runs on emotion, and the quality control department is on permanent vacation. ‎ ‎But here's the punchline, the final twist that makes the whole thing so beautifully ridiculous: once you see the factory for what it is, you are not condemned by it. You are liberated from it. You are not a terrible Christian because your heart produces garbage; you are a normal human being with a deceitful heart that needs to be supervised like a toddler with a permanent marker. The problem is not that the thoughts arise; the problem is when you believe them, bake them into a cake, and then deliver the cake to your neighbor with a note that says, "Thus saith the Lord." The freedom comes when you can watch the thought arise, observe the emotion stirring, and say, "Ah, there's that old recipe again. I recognize the smell. That's the self-pity soufflé. That's the righteous anger casserole. That's the lust lasagna. Hello, old friends. You may sit in the corner while I choose not to eat you." And then, instead of indulging the illusion, you do what the wise man does: you hold it back, you examine it, and if necessary, you throw the whole dish in the trash and order takeout from the Word of God. ‎ ‎The next time you feel a surge of holy certainty, a rush of righteous fury, a wave of self-justifying sadness, pause. Ask yourself: Did I just bake this? Is this from the divine kitchen, or did I just raid my own emotional pantry and turn last week's hurt into this morning's prophecy? If you can laugh at the possibility that you've been pranked by your own heart, you are already free. And if you can't laugh yet, don't worry—the realization is coming, and when it does, it will be the funniest thing you've ever tasted. Even funnier than a man who thought his pizza dream was the Third Great Awakening. And that, my friend, is a joy no illusion can manufacture, and no deception can steal. It is the taste of actual freedom, and it needs no frosting at all. ‎

Afternoon Prayer Almighty God, We pray for spiritual revival within the Church and awakening among the nations of the world. Renew passion for prayer, worship, holiness, and obedience to Your Word.
