• Pilgrims of God

    I was wandering the desert
Lost without hope for now I roam
    Crushed beneath the pressure
Wanting a place I could call home
I was drowning in my sorrow
Up to my kneck in sin
    Looking for somebody
    Who I respect- a friend
I was desperate for a treasure
Never bought and can't be sold
    But stuck inside a prison
And the devil had a hold
I couldn't see my way out
And I was just about to fold
Till then heard of a savior
    Who purchased every soul
    He promised life in heaven
I knew I could not say no
Many of us were called there
Only a few of us would go
I left behind the old life
    And stepped into the light
    The darkness wasnt happy
so it scuffled and tried to fight
I held onto the rugged cross
Grappled to it with all my might
Took a little bit of time
And the darkness left my sight
I passed up all the lost souls
I tried to grab them if I could
    I talked about the gospel
As I knew a Christian should
I saw them as did Jesus
In the valley on a slope
    Up top of God's mountain
I tossed down to them a rope
The flames of hell roared higher
    Nearly devoured some to nought
I rejoiced to all the heavens
About the few of them I caught
    The angels played a trumpet
    A couple instruments with strings
    I heard the choir bellow
Out a hymnal they did sing
    See heaven is the treasure
The Holy Ghost bestow a ring
Some claimed to know all mysteries
yet still slow to know a thing
    And didnt know the calling
    So quickly fell from Grace
Dont buy into this life of sin
    Nor after riches niether chase
Dont forfeit to hell your precious soul
For if so your life you waste
Just call out now to Jesus
Bow your head and seek his face
    He loves you very much
This world is but a bitter taste
    see Jesus is enough
    He knows your every hurt....
    And carries all your sorrow
Ask for His safety here and now
For you may not see tomorrow
    Listen to the preachers words
    Of life beyond the veil
Take heed to travel down this path
    Forsake the broken trail
And you will live in glory of the Father
    you should know
That Jesus has a plan for you
    And your eternal soul

    THE GRANDEST INVITATION

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready." — Revelation 19:7

In our world, wedding invitations carry weight. We check our calendars, coordinate attire, and prepare gifts to honor the couple. Yet the most magnificent celebration in human history—the Marriage Supper of the Lamb—requires a far different kind of preparation.

Revelation 19 shifts the cosmic scene from the fall of earthly empires to an outburst of unhindered praise. The long-awaited climax of history arrives not as a political conquest, but as a wedding feast. Jesus, the Lamb who was slain to purchase humanity with His blood, is revealed as the Bridegroom. The Church—every believer across time—is His bride.

This short verse carries three deep spiritual movements for your day:

Rejoice and Be Glad: True Christian joy is grounded in an unshakable future. Whatever hardship or disappointment you face today, it is not the final chapter of your story. The end of history is a feast, not a famine.

Give Him Glory: Salvation is entirely God’s initiative. We do not earn our place at this table; we are invited by grace.

Make Yourself Ready: The bride's readiness is both a gift and a pursuit. In the very next verse, Revelation notes that her fine linen is given to her, representing the righteous acts of God's holy people.

To be ready for the Bridegroom means living today in light of eternity. It means letting love, purity, and devotion shape how you treat others, manage your time, and guard your heart. You are not waiting aimlessly; you are preparing for a wedding.

Take time today to consider what temporary worry or distraction is currently competing for the joy that belongs to your eternal future, and how you can actively make yourself ready in your daily decisions and relationships.

Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me to Your eternal feast through Jesus Christ, the Lamb. When the cares of this world feel heavy, lift my eyes to the joy that awaits me. Purify my heart today, align my desires with Your kingdom, and help me live with expectant hope. Let my life reflect the grace and righteousness You have so generously given me. Amen.

    A Taste for Something Good.

    August 18th, 2026

Humans have about 10,000 taste buds on their tongues, yet insects have the most highly developed sense of taste—using their feet and antennae. Have you ever taken a bite of some food and suddenly tasted something bitter? (At one potluck, I put some peanut butter on my desert only to discover it was actually vegan cheese spread. Not pretty!)

Your first response is to spit it out. Of the five senses of the tongue, bitterness is the most sensitive at picking up something that tastes disagreeable. Perhaps that was God’s intention, as many toxic plants have naturally bitter compounds.

The taste threshold of bitterness is measured in relationship to quinine, which is given a reference index of 1. In 1958, scientists discovered a chemical called denatonium, the bitterest substance ever found. It has a threshold of 1,000! This aversive agent is added to poisonous matter to prevent people from accidentally swallowing something that might harm them.

Researchers have also discovered a couple of substances that are extremely bitter to some people but are virtually tasteless to others. Evidently, the genes of some people make them “supertasters” when it comes to identifying certain bitter compounds.

Solomon gives strong medicine to his son in Proverbs 5, urging him to shun immorality at all costs. He speaks from personal experience. It’s odd that the wisest man who ever lived made some of the most foolish choices in the area of lust. To all men he warns that what might seem sweet in the beginning ends up being bitter in the end.

He illustrates the remorse and disastrous consequences of breaking the seventh commandment with a perennial plant that grows in the temperate parts of Northern Africa called artemesia. The shrub was used as an ingredient in flavoring some alcoholic drinks and in some spices, but the strong bitter juice of the plant is unfit to eat in your typical lunch salad.

God wants us to be supertasters at sensing the poisonous temptations of Satan. Through Solomon’s example, the Lord calls to us to “pay attention!” We can learn from Solomon’s experiences and be saved from a taste of bitter grief.

Lord, I make a promise to keep my eyes on you today and to keep my thoughts pure. I choose to turn from every polluted pathway.

    Additional reading: Proverbs 5:1–14

    Key Bible Texts
My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: (Proverbs 5:1 KJV)

  • DAY 18 - Morning
Theme: LOVE THAT CHOOSES: Making Daily Decisions That Strengthens The Marriage

    Morning Reflection
    Protect Your Friendship

    Good morning,
Before you became husband and wife, you were two people who discovered something special in each other.
    Friendship.
But sometimes marriage becomes so occupied with responsibilities that friendship quietly disappears.
    You discuss school fees.
    You discuss the children.
    You discuss electricity bills.
    You discuss work.
But when did you last simply laugh together?
When did you last sit and talk about nothing important?
Friendship is not an optional extra in marriage.
It is part of the foundation.

    God's Word
"A friend loves at all times." — Proverbs 17:17

    Today's Love Action
Spend some time together today doing something neither of you considers a responsibility.
    Take a walk.
    Share a meal.
    Tell jokes.
    Listen to music.
    Simply enjoy each other's company.

    Let's Talk
What did you enjoy doing together before marriage that you could bring back into your relationship?

    Prayer
Lord, restore the friendship in our marriage. Help us enjoy one another again and not allow responsibilities to steal our companionship. Amen.

    From The Counselor's Chair
A couple can share a house, children and finances and still become emotionally distant. Friendship keeps the heart connected.

    Marriage Nugget
"Don't become such good partners in managing life that you forget to be friends."

    Remember
In marriage, it is not about winning the argument; it is about winning each other's hearts.

Today was actually a really good day.

Some days the orders are really good, and today was one of those days. I worked for about one hour in the early afternoon and then around three hours at night, from 6 to 9. So, just four hours in total, and I made around ₹1,200. I honestly wish every day was like this!

But that's not even the highlight of my day. The highlight was what happened tonight.

I was waiting for an order near my home when I got one where the pickup was very close by, but the drop was a little towards the outskirts. The drop location was St. Anthony's Church.

That church is actually special to me because it's one of the churches I had visited before. My brother and I completed our Sacrament of Confirmation there a few years ago.

Since the place was a little far out, I thought there was a chance I might not get an order back home after dropping the passenger. But then I thought, "It's been almost 6–7 months since I've gone to church. If I don't get another order, I'll just stop there, pray for a few minutes and come home."

So I picked up this girl and took her there. And when we reached, I realized the drop was literally right in front of the church!

After I dropped her, she asked me if I could wait for 10–15 minutes because she wanted to take a ride back with me to the same place where I picked her up.

I asked her what she was going to do there, and she said she was going to the church and would probably take about 10 minutes.

It was already around 7:30 at night, so I told her that the church was probably closed. She said she didn't know it was closed and didn't know what to do.

I told her that maybe the gate would still be open and that she could at least go in front of the church and pray, even if she couldn't go inside. And I told her, "If you're going to the church, I'll come with you."

So both of us went inside the church campus. Just as I thought, the church was closed, but we stood outside the church and prayed together.

After that, she booked another ride back, and I got the order and accepted it.

While we were coming back, she started telling me her story.

She had come to Bangalore from Chennai only about a week ago for a job. She doesn't really know anyone here except a couple of girls who are staying with her in her PG.

She told me that she had been feeling really low that day. She just wanted to go somewhere and pray, so she searched on Google for a church. St. Anthony's Church came up, and she simply booked a Rapido to go there. She hadn't even checked properly where the church was or how far it was.

And while coming there, she actually got scared because the area was quite far out. There were farms and very few people around, it was dark, and there weren't many streetlights. She was wondering where we were going and whether she had somehow ended up going to a completely different place.

She kept telling me how happy and grateful she was that she got me as her rider. She started calling me "Akka" and was really comfortable talking to me.

I was able to give her some advice, share some godly wisdom and also share a few of my testimonies with her. Most importantly, I got the opportunity to talk to her about Jesus.

I told her that I genuinely believe it was God's plan that we met today.

Because of her, I ended up going to a church after almost 6–7 months. I had been thinking about going to church for a long time, and today, without even planning it, I actually stepped into a church campus and prayed.

While we were coming back, she was telling me more about herself, and I noticed that she had a speech difficulty. She was stuttering while talking. After a while, she actually told me herself, "I have stuttering, that's why I talk like this."

So while I was encouraging her, I told her that God has great plans for her and that she should always walk in obedience to Him, listen to His guidance, and follow His will for her life. I told her that there will always be things and people that try to take us away from God's path, but we should keep listening to God and choose His way.

Then I told her about Moses.

I told her that Moses also had difficulty speaking. When God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses himself felt that he wasn't capable and didn't know how he could do it. But God still chose him and used him to do something incredibly great.

I told her, "God doesn't need us to be perfect for Him to use us. He can use people who feel broken, weak, unworthy or inadequate, and He can use them in mighty ways so that His glory can be seen through their lives."

When I told her that, she was actually quite amazed. I don't think she knew much about the story of Moses, because she was really surprised to hear it.

I felt that this was something she really needed to hear at that moment. I wanted her to understand that whatever she may see as a weakness in herself doesn't mean that God cannot use her. God has a purpose for her, and He can still do great things through her life.

I also gave her my number and told her that if she ever needs any help or gets stuck with anything, she can call me and I'll help her if I can.

When I dropped her back, I also told her that she doesn't have to travel so far just to go to church. I showed her a few churches closer to where she stays.

I even invited her for future Bible reading and Bible studies, and she said she'd be interested. So let's see how that goes.

Honestly, this was the highlight of my entire day.

I truly believe this wasn't just a random Rapido ride. I believe God brought our paths together for a reason.

I went out today thinking I was just going to work and earn some money, but God gave me an opportunity to meet someone, encourage her, talk to her about Jesus, and even get myself back into a church after so many months.

So yeah… this is what happened today.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Today looks to be a potentially soggy day again. I checked the weather on my phone and it was a muddy puddle. This brings me to my funny story for you today.

Yesterday, my husband and I had a meeting with our VA lawyer in a new town. Because of all the storms and flooding issues, the crowd was much smaller. We actually got to ask a couple of questions when we sat down with him. We did not feel rushed. As good as that was, it was not the highlight of the trip. While waiting for our turn, we met some new friends. Two of which just happened to be authors. One of which just happens to run a podcast. Hmmm. Any thoughts on why we went to ‘this’ meeting with the lawyer and not the meeting place? I wonder if Someone knew who we were going to meet.

One of these two individuals’ spouses has memory issues. The other is applying for their survivor’s benefits with the lawyer’s help. I wonder Who designed this meeting?

Since I have been retired, I have been hyper-focused on making sure that I take care of my husband and keep his medical stuff straight and on track. I have been hyper-focused on keeping our lives as smooth as possible. So hyper-focused that when my littles from across the pond arrived, I was not the fun American grandma. I was grumpy grandma. That changed yesterday.

On our way home from the lawyer, I was thinking about all this rain, the flooding, and then I thought about the muddy puddles in my yard. I decided on the way home that we were going to play in the muddy puddles. God gave them to us, why not play in them? So, when I got home, I changed into shorts, kicked off my shoes, and challenged the grandkids to a splash fest. I do not know how long we played, but we all needed showers when it was over with … and that is after washing off with the garden hose. I even got the other grandma to play in the muddy puddle. We all were muddy puddle winners.

Too often, the enemy gets grown-ups to think they have to be adults all the time. When in fact, Jesus tells us that we are to come to Him as children. In all these storms, there have been ugly skies, so dancing in the rain has not been possible … however … splashing in the muddy puddles … well now, that is an awesome stress reliever.

Today is His day. Today we are going to his house to worship him, whether in a church or a prayer closet. Today we are going to thank Him for his blessings and for the trials. Today, we give God the glory and enter His presence as children. Will you join me on the heavenly playground of muddy puddles?

    Be blessed.

**And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” – Matthew 18:3-4

  • I'm struggling with anger, sadness and unforgiveness because of my mother. A couple of months ago she told me for the hundredth time she didn't love me and I've always done something to make her dislike me. From the time I was an infant to 62 years of age I've been a horrible person according to her. I took myself to church at 4, I made stash A's and B's, my teachers and neighbors loved me, I have always been the person God said to be. My mother has abused me in every way,, she's talked about me to the people who respected me, like the police cheif and officers, she told them I was on drugs and not to trust me, she reported me to children family services so much they were going to file charges against her, she tried to take my child away from me, she moved her father into her home that had molested my siblings, cousins, myself and only God knows who else, she tried to keep me from going to college by taking my car away over asking for $30 to help with my loan. She's told me that she was going to get an abortion with me, that she didn't want any of her kids but most of all me. She's been cruel my whole life and damaging to my soul. I've tried to by the daughter Hod said to be but I can't anymore. She had me ready to kill myself 2 months ago and I can't live like that. I've cut her out of my life. But I feel bad that I've disappointed God. please pray for me. My health is awful, my home is falling apart and I am beyond btoke.I was injured on the job where I broke my neck and back and can't work or fix my home. I need help. And I don't ask for help because I have been rejected from birth and learned to take care of myself. Please, pray for me. I know God loves me but life is really hard right now.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

This month, I have taken a break from doing events in an attempt to sell my books. I have got the giveaway going, but that is all for now. It is funny that in a matter of just a couple of hours, I have September looking pretty solid for different sites. Add to that a couple of new projects in the works. So, while my physical is taking a break while the littles are here, my mind never shuts off. Haha.

Today we have an appointment to see the VA lawyer and work on next steps for my hubby’s compensation. I have questions, and supposedly this alternate site has a calmer venue to ask those questions.

As the rain falls, yet again today, please pray for those areas that are over drainage capacity and are flooding. My yard is a soggy mess and when I actually get to mow … in six months … we will need a rake to bundle the grass for the horses; however … my little puddles in my yard are nothing compared to those who have been ousted from their homes and businesses.

I would encourage you to seek an audience with the Father today, as you should every day; however, today make a special appearance and pray for those who are watching their livelihood wash away in the floods. Pray for the emergency workers who are trying to keep everyone safe. Pray for the linemen who are trying to keep the power on. Pray for those who just happen to be in the wrong place when a road washes away. Pray for those in your community who are struggling with something that you are not aware of. Pray for our government leaders to put Him first and to follow His direction. Today, spend a considerable amount of time in prayer. Let's come together as a church and cover our country. While in the community, randomly stop and help someone … be the church in the physical as well as the spiritual. Today, let us show the world how His church demonstrates His love.

    Be blessed.

**Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” –Matthew 22:37-40

  • OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
    DATE: THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH, 2026
    THEME: UNDERSTANDING COVENANTS

    AUTHOR: PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

MEMORISE: "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;" Deuteronomy 7:9

    READ: 1 Corinthians 6:18-20
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

    MESSAGE:
To understand what a covenant is, it is helpful first to understand what a contract is, as it is a more familiar concept. A contract is a written and signed agreement between two or more parties which outlines the expectations and responsibilities of all the parties involved in an interaction. The moment a contract is signed, all parties involved are bound by it, and typically, the contract will outline the consequences of what will happen if any party breaches the agreement. Such consequences may include penalties, damages, and other similar outcomes.

A covenant is also a contract, but one that is signed with body fluids, mostly blood. This means that when body fluids, especially blood, are involved in a contract, a covenant has been established. For example, in Genesis 17:1-14, God entered into a covenant with Abraham, and to sign that covenant, every male that was born into Abraham's household was to be circumcised, beginning with Abraham himself, even though he was almost 100 years old at the time. A covenant is no joking matter, primarily because the penalty for breaking it is usually death. This is why today's teaching is very important.

When a man and a woman come together to exchange body fluids, particularly through sex, they are entering into a covenant. They may not know it, but they have become bonded with each other. This is why it is important for a husband and a wife to only have sexual relationships with each other, because the devil usually takes advantage of extramarital sexual intercourse to pass on demons between those who indulge in it.

Many years ago, a boy was barking like a dog and was brought to me for deliverance. When I investigated the matter, I discovered that he had been sleeping with a dog in his house. In other words, he had entered into a covenant with that dog, and the devil had obviously attacked him through that. In the same vein, when a fellow sleeps with someone who is not his or her spouse, certain things will be passed from that fellow to them, and you can be sure that they are not good things because the act that was committed was contrary to God's will.

Beloved, do not neglect the Almighty God's instructions about keeping yourself sexually pure. Do not allow the devil access into your life by engaging in illicit sexual acts. I pray that the Lord will continually empower you to overcome all forms of sexual temptation, in Jesus' name.

    KEY POINT:
Illicit sexual relations establish covenants that the devil can exploit.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
    Jeremiah 31-32

HYMN 31: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION
    1 Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin;
    Each vict’ry will help you some other to win;
    Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

    Refrain:
Ask the Saviour to help you,
    Comfort, strengthen, and keep you;
He is willing to aid you,
    He will carry you through.

2 Shun evil companions, bad language disdain,
    God’s name hold in reverence, nor take it in vain;
    Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

    Chorus

3 To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown,
    Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down;
    He who is our Saviour, our strength will renew;
Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.

KEY POINT: Illicit sexual relations establish covenants that the devil can exploit. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 31-32 HYMN 31: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION 1 Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin; Each vict’ry will help you some other to win; Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue; Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through. Refrain: Ask the Saviour to help you, Comfort, strengthen, and keep you; He is willing to aid you, He will carry you through. 2 Shun evil companions, bad language disdain, God’s name hold in reverence, nor take it in vain; Be thoughtful and earnest, kindhearted and true; Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through. Chorus 3 To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown, Through faith we will conquer, though often cast down; He who is our Saviour, our strength will renew; Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.
