The Story Behind the Hymns. THE STORY BEHIND "ALL CREATURES OF OUR GOD AND KING" “All Creatures of Our God and King” traces its roots to one of the most beautiful expressions of praise in Christian history: the Canticle of the Sun, written by St. Francis of Assisi around 1224. St. Francis composed the canticle near the end of his life, during a period of physical suffering. Rather than allowing his circumstances to silence his faith, he looked at creation and saw it as a reflection of God’s glory. The sun, moon, wind, water, fire and earth became, in his poetic prayer, fellow worshippers joining humanity in praising their Creator. Centuries later, the English clergyman William Henry Draper brought this ancient prayer into the world of congregational hymn singing. Draper translated and adapted portions of St. Francis’ canticle into English, creating the hymn now known as “All Creatures of Our God and King.” Draper prepared the hymn for a children’s Whitsuntide celebration in Leeds, England. His version was subsequently published in the early 20th century and became widely used in churches, particularly in Britain and other English-speaking Christian communities. The familiar melody adds another layer of history. The tune, commonly known as “Lasst uns erfreuen,” originated in Germany and appeared in a Catholic hymnal in 1623. Centuries later, it was arranged and popularised in the English-speaking church, notably through the work of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and the English Hymnal. The hymn’s message is simple yet profound: all creation belongs to God and is called to praise Him. Its repeated invitation to “O praise Him” turns the song into a celebration of worship that reaches beyond humanity to the entire created world. From a prayer written by a 13th-century saint to an English adaptation sung in churches centuries later, “All Creatures of Our God and King” has endured because of its timeless reminder that creation itself points toward the greatness, goodness and glory of its Creator.

Wasting time on entertainment and social media without developing one's potential is contrary to godly wisdom. TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE "All who have this hope in Him purify themselves, just as He is pure." - 1 John 3:3 The Bible always speaks about two types of people, ways or choices: sheep and goats, corn and chaff, wise and foolish virgins, a wide and a narrow path, a man walking in the light or a man walking in the darkness, a sinner or a righteous person. The Bible says that God wants to bring people from darkness into His wonderful light. Each time you see these two categories of people. The Bible speaks of people who are damned and people who are saved; lost and redeemed people; people who have strayed from the straight road and who belong to the flock; carnal and spiritual people. The contrast that the Bible indicates between one group and the other is quite large. You stand either on one side or on the other. You choose heaven or hell. You choose death or life. You cannot be saved a little or go to heaven a little. You cannot be pregnant for just a little bit either. Either you are pregnant, or you are not. You are a Christian or you are not. You walk in the light or in the darkness. You are far from God because of sin or your sins are forgiven, and you have entered the presence of God. It is either the one or the other! Born again is essential A person has to experience a change within. Rebirth is to take place. The Bible calls it 'being born again'; to go from the old to the new creation. If you are not born again you cannot see the Kingdom of God, let alone enter it. This is essential for all believers. Jesus says that if we give our heart to Him and allow Him, He will come to us. The Psalmist does not merely tell us to praise God; he tells us why we should praise Him: because of His mighty acts and His excellent greatness. Today, as we celebrate the 11th Sunday after Trinity, we are reminded that praise should not depend on our circumstances. God deserves our worship because of who He is and because of what He has done. There are blessings we can see and others we may never know about. There are prayers God has already answered and others for which we are still waiting. Yet, through every season, God's greatness remains unchanged. When we praise God, we acknowledge His sovereignty, celebrate His faithfulness, and declare our confidence in His power. Mark 10:45 reminds us that true greatness is found not in being served, but in serving others. Jesus—the Son of Man and King of all—chose humility, sacrifice, and love. He did not merely speak about service; He gave His life to rescue us. Today, may we follow His example: choosing compassion over recognition, generosity over comfort, and service over status. A life shaped by Jesus asks not, “What can I gain?” but, “Whom can I serve?” “Even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” — Mark 10:45

Why is following God vital? We follow God and His servants that we might know His ways. The Scripture reminds us that, “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him and He will show the His covenant.” (Psalm 25:14). For this reason, “He made His ways known to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” (Psalms 108:7). His servant teaches, “Then shall we know if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and the former rain to the earth” (Hosea 6:3). When God comes to us in His glory, we manifest His greatness. Signs, wonders and miracles become the norm in our lives. The Scripture also teaches that, “That at the name of Jesus should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father”(Philippians 2:10). Not only has God come to us in glory; now He in duels us in the Holy Spirit. And where God is, nature being creature is subject. To the bodies that the almighty God has made His temple, we read that, “God also bearing them witness both with signs and wonders and with diverse miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost according to His own will”(Hebrews 2:4). Much of my book "The Seven Steps to Dominion with Christ Jesus" deals with issues of following the Lord God to dominion; but let us for a moment turn our attention on those He has put us under to take us forward – the leaders. True success comes from following the Lord God Almighty. But we can also follow God through His servants-the men and women He has walked with. Such great people are the mentors.

Conflict and Courage. Isaiah 6:1-10 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8. It was under circumstances of difficulty and discouragement that Isaiah, while yet a young man, was called to the prophetic mission. Disaster was threatening his country. By their transgression of God's law the people of Judah had forfeited His protection, and the Assyrian forces were about to come against the kingdom of Judah. But the danger from their enemies was not the greatest trouble. It was the perversity of the people that brought upon the Lord's servant the deepest depression. By their apostasy and rebellion they were inviting the judgments of God. The youthful prophet had been called to bear to them a message of warning, and he knew that he would meet with obstinate resistance.... His task seemed to him almost hopeless.... Such thoughts as these were crowding upon his mind as he stood under the portico of the holy temple. Suddenly the gate and the inner veil of the temple seemed to be uplifted or withdrawn, and he was permitted to gaze within, upon the holy of holies, where even the prophet's feet might not enter. There rose up before him a vision of Jehovah sitting upon a throne high and lifted up, while His train filled the temple. On each side of the throne hovered the seraphim, two wings bearing them up, two veiling their faces in adoration, and two covering their feet.... Never before had Isaiah realized so fully the greatness of Jehovah or His perfect holiness; and he felt that in his human frailty and unworthiness he must perish in that divine presence. “Woe is me!” he cried; “for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” But a seraph came to him to fit him for his great mission. A living coal from the altar was laid upon his lips with the words: “Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.” And when the voice of God was heard saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Isaiah with holy confidence responded, “Here am I; send me.” ... A WORD FOR YOU. (Insights For Life) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 1:13 KJV YOU MUST APPROPRIATE WHAT HE DID. Appropriation is what gives expression to redemption. Everything Jesus Christ did for us on the cross cannot find expression automatically. It must be appropriated. That is why know one becomes save automatically, no one becomes healed automatically, no one becomes blessed automatically; despite the fact that Jesus Christ had died for all sinners and has given us ALL things. You must first believe him and then you confess before you receive salvation. If I get you a car and I call you to inform you. It's yours already, but to receive it; you will have to show up at my office/house to get the key, you must have learnt how to drive and you must have knowledge of the road network. After receiving it, you may decide to park it or use it - but it's yours already. By redemption, everything has been purchased for us by the blood of Jesus Christ. Every heavenly things are now yours. You have been delivered from the power of Darkness and translated: in text, in form and in position. It is a settled thing. BUT TO ENJOY, EXPRESS AND LIVE IN THE REALITY OF THAT SCRIPTURE, YOU MUST APPROPRIATE IT. You have been healed. You have been forgiven and saved. You have been set free. You have been set for success, progress and greatness. Everything you desire is in the past, it has happened, it is available. But you have to seize it, possess it, take it before it truly becomes yours. This is the law of appropriation - nothing is yours until you appreciate it. How? Find out what he said about your desire in God's Word, stand on that Word, believe the Word, declare the Word, Act on that Word, thank Him for the answer, and watch God confirm His Word upon your life. Repeat the process over and again - sometimes, it doesn't happen once. It's done! I see God changing your story from today. You will hear a glad tidings soon. 490: The Fullness of God's Mercy—and A Call to Repent "Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." — Matthew 18:22 The number 490 reminds us of the greatness of God's mercy and His perfect plan of redemption. When Peter asked Jesus how many times he should forgive, Jesus answered, "seventy times seven." Jesus was not teaching us to keep count. He was revealing the overflowing mercy of God toward those who repent and believe in Him. This stands in striking contrast to Lucifer. Lucifer was created with great privilege and beauty, yet pride filled his heart, and he rebelled against God. Throughout Scripture, Satan is never presented as seeking repentance or receiving forgiveness. Instead, he remains the deceiver, the accuser, and the adversary. The Bible consistently points not to his restoration but to his final judgment in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). By contrast, fallen humanity is offered what Satan is never shown seeking: God's invitation to repent and be reconciled through Jesus Christ. The Father sent His Son to bear our sins, die in our place, and rise again so that everyone who trusts in Him may receive forgiveness and eternal life. The number 490 also points to Daniel's prophecy of the seventy weeks (490 years), revealing God's redemptive plan leading to the coming of the Messiah, who would make atonement for sin and bring in everlasting righteousness (Daniel 9:24). As the Bible closes, Revelation reminds us that God's mercy has an appointed day. Christ will return, evil will be judged, and eternity will be established. Revelation lists those whose lives are characterized by persistent, unrepentant rebellion against God—such as the cowardly, unbelieving, murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars (Revelation 21:8). It also says that nothing unclean will enter the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:27). These passages are not teaching that anyone who has ever committed these sins is beyond hope. Rather, they warn that those who persist in them without repentance and reject Christ will not inherit God's kingdom. The Gospel declares that idolaters, liars, adulterers, thieves, and every other kind of sinner can be washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (see 1 Corinthians 6:9–11). Satan's story is one of pride, rebellion, accusation, and judgment. Jesus' story is one of humility, sacrifice, forgiveness, and redemption. Today, God's mercy is still extended through Christ. The One who commands us to forgive "seventy times seven" is the same Lord who still calls sinners to repent while there is time. When He returns, the season of grace will give way to the final judgment. Therefore, let us turn from idols, reject deception, walk in the truth, and cling to Christ alone. Prayer Lord Jesus, thank You for Your immeasurable mercy. Thank You that though I deserved judgment, You offered me forgiveness through Your finished work on the cross. Search my heart for any idol, deception, or unrepentant sin. Keep me abiding in You, walking in truth, and proclaiming Your Gospel until the day You return. Amen.

𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 ✍️ “𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦, 𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦— 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵’𝘴 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦.” Someone says, “𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺.” Society urges us to climb higher, gain more followers, and build our fame. But as Christians, true greatness is measured by service. Whether tempted to rise or called to kneel, the real question isn’t about power—it’s whether we will faithfully carry our great responsibility. Jesus declared in 🕮 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝟏𝟎:𝟒𝟓, “𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘢 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺.” The disciples had been arguing over who would be the greatest, but Christ redefined greatness. The King of kings did not come demanding a throne—He came carrying a towel, serving others, and ultimately giving His life as the ransom for sinners. A fruitful tree does not exist for itself. Its branches bend under the weight of fruit so that others may be nourished. In the same way, spiritual maturity is not measured by how much we receive but by how willingly we serve. The closer we walk with Christ, the more our lives become a blessing to those around us. Scripture calls us to Christlike service. We are to “𝘣𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳” (𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏𝟑), and to be “𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯” (𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏). “𝘞𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘰𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳” (𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝟏𝟎:𝟒𝟑). Ministry is not about being noticed—it is about making Christ known. The servant's heart is revealed long before the spotlight arrives. “𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘰𝘳 𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺” (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟐:𝟑). Don't seek to elevate your platform, chase lost people for God to transform. We are not called to impress people with our importance but to bless them with Christ's humility. Before Christ called us to serve, He first served us selflessly. He left the glory of heaven, humbled Himself, became obedient unto death—even the death of the cross (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟐:𝟓–𝟖). Through His sacrifice and victorious resurrection (𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟓:𝟑–𝟒), He paid the ransom our sins deserved. We do not serve to earn His love—we serve because His love has already transformed our hearts. Are you seeking recognition more than opportunities to serve? Whose burden will you bear? Whose souls will you lead to the Lord? You don't need Christ merely to give you a ministry—you need Him because He is the perfect Servant who teaches your imperfect hearts to serve. Don't chase a crown while refusing a towel. The path to true greatness still begins at the feet of Jesus. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, who came not to be served but to serve. Forgive us for seeking recognition instead of devotion. Give us the heart of Christ, willing hands to serve, and joyful obedience in every opportunity You place before us. May our lives reflect the Greatest Servant. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
