Need to know. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU FOLLOW ,,NOT EVERY “MAN OF GOD” IS FROM GOD We are living in a generation where not everything that looks like light is truly from God. Deception has become subtle, attractive, and dangerous. If you are not spiritually alert, you can easily be led in the wrong direction without even knowing it. Child of God, let this sink deep into your heart. Not every “man of God” is truly sent by God. This is the truth many people avoid, but it must be said. In these times, many are following miracles, signs, and prophecies without seeking God for discernment. And because of that, many souls are being misled daily. Do not be quick to trust just because you see miracles. Do not surrender your heart because someone gives accurate prophecies. Do not be carried away by what looks powerful on the outside. The Bible clearly warns us in 1 John 4:1: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God.” Not every power comes from Heaven. Yes, there are powers that are not of God, even though they may look spiritual. That is why you must be careful. The enemy also operates with signs and wonders. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says: “Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” So what does that mean for you? It means miracles alone are not proof. Crowds are not proof. Fame is not proof. You must look deeper. Before you follow anyone, take time to observe: Watch their fruits. Study their lifestyle. Listen to their teachings carefully. Check if their life reflects holiness, truth, and alignment with God’s Word. Jesus made it clear in Matthew 7:16: “By their fruits you shall know them.” Not by their miracles. Not by their popularity. But by their fruits , their character, their integrity, their obedience to God's ten (all ten) commandments. Ask yourself honestly: Is this leading me closer to God or further away? Is my spirit growing or becoming confused? Is this truth or just emotional excitement? Child of God, this is not the time to be careless. Pray for discernment. Stay rooted in the Word of God. Do not follow blindly. Deception does not always look evil , sometimes it looks convincing, attractive, and even “anointed.” But the Spirit of God will never mislead you. May God open your eyes to see clearly. May He guide your steps and protect you from every form of deception. TEACHING SUMMARY: In these last days, discernment is not optional, it is necessary for survival. Do not judge by appearances, miracles, or popularity. TODAY'S MESSAGE SERMON TOPIC: NOT EVERY OPEN DOOR IS FROM GOD. Sermon Text: > Revelation 3:7-8 "These are the words of him who is holy and true... What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open." Supporting Texts: 1 Corinthians 16:9 Acts 16:6–10 Matthew 4:1–11 Genesis 13:10–13 Proverbs 3:5–6 Many Christians have been taught that every opportunity is a blessing. While God certainly opens doors, the Bible also reveals that not every open door comes from God. Some doors are opened by temptation, human ambition, compromise, or even the enemy. The devil rarely begins with destruction. He often begins with an attractive opportunity. A door can be wide open and still lead to regret. As believers, our goal should not be to chase every opportunity but to discern God's will. Success outside God's purpose is still failure in eternity. WHAT IS AN OPEN DOOR? An open door represents: An opportunity. A relationship. A business deal. A ministry invitation. A career promotion. A financial breakthrough. A new season. The critical question is not "Is the door open?" but "Who opened it?" 1. SOME OPEN DOORS LEAD AWAY FROM GOD'S WILL Genesis 13:10–13 Lot saw the fertile plains of Sodom. Everything looked attractive. It was an open door to wealth. But it eventually became the doorway to loss, shame, and destruction. Lesson: What looks profitable is not always purposeful. Many believers have entered relationships, jobs, and business partnerships because they looked good without seeking God's direction. Appearance can deceive. 2. SATAN ALSO OPENS DOORS Matthew 4:8–10 Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world. It was an open door to power without suffering. Jesus rejected it because every shortcut that bypasses God's will is dangerous. The devil still offers: Wealth without integrity. Promotion without character. Fame without holiness. Success without obedience. Never mistake convenience for God's approval. 3. GOD'S DOORS COME WITH HIS PEACE Colossians 3:15 "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts." God may open a difficult door, but His peace accompanies it. Jonah had an easy ship to Tarshish, but it was outside God's will. Paul often faced difficult assignments, yet he enjoyed God's assurance. When God leads, His Spirit confirms. When the flesh leads, confusion usually follows. 4. DISCERNMENT IS GREATER THAN OPPORTUNITY Acts 16:6–10 Paul wanted to preach in Asia. It seemed like a good opportunity. Yet the Holy Spirit stopped him. Later, God opened Macedonia. Good opportunities must never replace God's opportunities. Not every "yes" is heaven's yes. Prayer should always come before decisions. 5. GOD'S DOORS PRODUCE FRUIT THAT GLORIFIES HIM John 15:16 Anything God opens will ultimately produce lasting spiritual fruit. Ask yourself: Will this opportunity strengthen my walk with Christ? Will it glorify God? Will it bless others? Will it draw me closer to holiness? If the answer is no, reconsider before entering. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: LOT AND ABRAHAM Lot chose by sight. Abraham chose by faith. Lot entered Sodom because it looked prosperous. Abraham remained where God wanted him. One gained temporary wealth but lost his family. The other became the father of many nations. The difference was not intelligence. The difference was spiritual discernment. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. Pray before every major decision. 2. Test every opportunity with Scripture. 3. Seek wise, godly counsel. 4. Never sacrifice your convictions for quick success. 5. Wait patiently for God's timing. 6. Listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. 7. Remember that delayed obedience is better than rushed mistakes. DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS Every opportunity is not a divine appointment. The enemy often disguises temptation as promotion. God's delays often protect us from hidden dangers. A closed door can be God's mercy. Discernment is one of the greatest gifts a believer can possess. God's will is always safer than human wisdom. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION Am I pursuing opportunities or pursuing God? Have I ever mistaken convenience for God's direction? What doors have I entered without prayer? Is my current path producing godly fruit? Am I willing to walk away from an attractive opportunity if God says no? PRAYER POINTS 1. Father, give me the spirit of discernment to recognize every door You have opened for me. 2. Lord, close every door that will lead me away from Your purpose. 3. Every satanic opportunity disguised as a blessing, be exposed and destroyed in Jesus' name. 4. Holy Spirit, guide every decision I make and keep me from costly mistakes. 5. Father, help me never to exchange eternal purpose for temporary pleasure. 6. Lord, grant me patience to wait for Your perfect timing. 7. Every spirit of deception assigned to mislead my destiny, be broken in Jesus' name. 8. Father, let every door You open for me bring peace, favor, and lasting fruit. 9. May I never miss my divine assignment through impatience or compromise. 10. Lord Jesus, establish my steps in Your perfect will all the days of my life. CONCLUSION Beloved, an open door is not enough evidence that God is leading. The true mark of a divine opportunity is that it aligns with God's Word, is confirmed by the Holy Spirit, and produces fruit that glorifies Christ. Do not measure opportunities by how easy they appear. Measure them by whether they draw you closer to God. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not walking through an open door—it is having the courage to walk away from one that God did not open.
