COMMIT YOUR PLANS TO GOD

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
— Proverbs 16:3

Every morning is a new opportunity. We may have plans, responsibilities, businesses, families, and challenges ahead, but we don't have to carry everything by our own strength.

Before you begin today, place your plans in God's hands. Ask Him for wisdom, direction, protection, and strength.

Sometimes God may not give us exactly what we planned, but He can lead us toward something better than what we could see for ourselves.

TODAY'S PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me another beautiful day. I commit my plans, work, family, decisions, and future into Your hands. Give me wisdom to make the right choices and courage to face every challenge. Bless the work of my hands and let everything I do bring glory to Your name. Guide my steps and keep me close to You.

In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.

Have a blessed and productive day.

Walk with God.
Work faithfully.
Trust His direction.

Seek God's Direction Before the Battle

Scripture

Judges 20:18 (NKJV)

So the children of Israel arose and went up to the house of God to inquire of God. They said, Which of us shall go up first to battle against the children of Benjamin? The LORD said, Judah first!

Obedience Is More Than Asking God for Direction

Judges 20 records Israel's response to the horrific events of Judges 19. The nation gathered together in unity to confront the tribe of Benjamin because of the wickedness committed in Gibeah. Their desire for justice was right, but the chapter reveals that even a righteous cause must be pursued with humble dependence upon God.

Before going to battle, the people sought the Lord and asked which tribe should lead the attack. God answered their question, and Judah went first. Yet despite seeking God's direction, Israel suffered a devastating defeat. They returned to the Lord weeping and inquiring again, and once more God instructed them to fight. Again they experienced heavy losses.

Only after they humbled themselves through fasting, worship, sacrifices, and sincere dependence upon the Lord did God give them complete victory over Benjamin.

This chapter teaches an important spiritual lesson. It is possible to ask God for guidance while still relying upon our own strength. Israel initially wanted God's direction, but they had not yet reached the place of complete surrender. As the battle continued, their confidence shifted from their own military strength to total dependence upon God.

Believers often make the same mistake. We ask God to bless our plans while still trusting in our own wisdom, abilities, or resources. God desires more than our questions; He desires our hearts. True faith is not simply asking God what to do but trusting Him completely as we obey Him.

Judges 20 also reminds us that God's timing and methods are sometimes different from our expectations. Temporary setbacks do not always mean we are outside God's will. Sometimes God uses difficulty to deepen our dependence upon Him and to teach us humility before He grants victory.

The Lord desires His people to seek Him with sincerity, worship Him with humility, and trust Him completely. Victory belongs to those who rely on His strength rather than their own.

Reflection Questions

1. Am I seeking God's direction while still depending on my own strength?

2. How do I respond when God allows temporary setbacks in my life?

3. What area of my life needs greater surrender and trust in the Lord today?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, teach me to depend completely on You. Help me not only to seek Your guidance but also to trust Your timing, Your wisdom, and Your strength. When I face challenges or disappointments, keep me from becoming discouraged. Instead, draw me closer to You and deepen my faith. May my confidence always rest in Your power and not in my own abilities. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Across the miles, the serpent king sat straight up, alarm going through him. But as it was information heavily guarded by heaven, all he knew was, someone, somewhere, had made a kingdom decision, and it meant people would be freed. His anger burned within him. It was time to up the game…

The Serpent King wasn’t about to let that happen. Even as the bible study was wrapping up, he instructed his army to utilize every human wound, fear, and need, to find the tiniest crack in any of their armor.
He’d long known the weak points in men and women, and those who served the creator were no exception. They never changed. Every man needed to feed his appetites, and with the right persuasion, or situation, he could reach them all.
He knew too, that if you toppled the leaders, it took out the army. When men lost faith in the ones they followed, they almost always came straight to him.
He laughed in glee, as he began to stoke the fan of Jake’s pain, desire, and long suppressed needs. He now had a chance to reach Maggie and several others, as years of determination to live for the one every fallen one hated, were wiped away by the devastation she’d endured the last few days.
Her love for Jake, and his for her—within the confines of their pain—while given by the creator, was his area of attack. It gave him utmost pleasure to use the gifts of the Most-High to damage and turn His sons and daughters against Him.

The battle had begun as the serpent king declared war on the children of the book… but the children were filled with His spirit… and His love…

The guardians watched, concerned. Father had shown them what must be done… and Jake was about to be put in the crucible in a way he never had been.
It would start tonight, when he’d have to face something he’d long repressed. They already knew the enemy would use it to the fullest, but Father had decreed the time was now, and his guardian had been given strict orders to see that it happened—while the rest of them had been instructed to make sure the enemy couldn’t stop it.
They knew it was only the start of stripping him, and several others, down to the bone, so they could be strengthened and honed for the coming battle… a battle that wouldn’t stop until the end…

Prepare For The End
A saga of human resilience, and determination to fulfill their God-given tasks, and push back the powers of darkness to the very end. And the darkness’ desire to destroy them all.
