    SENSITIVITY TO DIVINE OPPORTUNITIES

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 'Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.'"
    Esther 4:15-16 NIV.

When God creates opportunities to your favour, you should be sensitive enough to identify and take advantage of it.
There are nuggets to winning life's battles, how you interpret a situation determines how it will work out for you. Most importantly, as a child of God, you must endeavour to realise and recognise that intimacy with God is key to winning the battles of life as you remain and maintain sensitivity to every opportunity He brings your way.

No situation is so bad that it cannot become a testimony for the believing child of God who is sensitive to opportunities God has availed them. Every painful situation has a seed of testimony in it. Every situation that challenges you is asking for the presence of your God, and beyond that, it is asking for the level of your intimacy and relationship with God.

One of reasons why people don't get things done is because they expect God to do everything, but in most cases, God wants you to take a step of faith, and He will release your destiny helper(s) to you. You need to believe unto the heights of impossibility.
Every challenge in your environment exists for your promotion. In all your desire, desire to rise above your present position.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, thank You. I ask for the grace to be open and sensitive to every opportunity You bring my way, even in the process of difficulties.

    FURTHER READING:

    Esther 2:5-9; 1 Samuel 17:32-37; Romans 8:28.

  • THE ALPHABET

    2 Timothy 3

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
    2 Peter 1
21 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
The word of God is so precious, it is not just another book, it is the very breath of God, breathed through human authors.
Some of these human authors were highly educated, some were not, some were kings and some came from the lowest rungs of society and yet God breathed his word through them, as verse 21 says, they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
We are going to start on a series of twenty six devotions, using every letter of our English alphabet, to focus on various aspects of the Christian life.
One of my heroes, is a man called William Tyndale, he was the man, who translated the bible from the Greek and Hebrew to English and he lived in the 1400's. He was able to speak seven languages and he had degrees from both Oxford and Cambridge, if you read the KJV as I do, much of what you read was translated by Tyndale. We owe this man a great debt.
Every word of the bible has deep meaning, every verse, every sentence, speaks of or points to Christ.
It is the only book that can make you wise unto salvation, others book are self help, but this book is God help, it tells how God and him alone can save a person  from the power, penalty and finally the presence of sin.
It is like having our own gold mine, full of gold nuggets, which person who has such a mine, doesn't spend all their time, mining and digging each precious nugget out of that mine and know this, that mine is inexhaustible.
What person leaves that mine and doesn't go into it or only takes a few minutes to go in, scratching the surface and comes out again, with nothing?
What person doesn't go in at all, but wastes his/her time on trifles and worldly things, instead of drinking deeply of the pure water of God's word?
At home, we have two full bottles of clean and pure drinking water, what would you think if I started to drink water from the toilet, you would think I was mad and you would be right, so why Christian, do you drink in the filth of the world, instead of the pure sincere milk of the word. Jeremiah 2 and 1 Peter 2.
Drink deeply, dig deeply, delve deeper than ever before believer.

    Morning Glory

    By Jenni Poling

    July 5th, 2026

“Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.” Psalm 143:8

There are several varieties of morning glories to be found in Illinois, and they are prolific because they thrive in poor soil and bright light. Among my favorites are the ivy-leaved morning glory, whose bloom is a beautiful sky-blue color, and the bigroot morning glory, whose easily-recognized flower is large and white with a burgundy-colored throat. Other colors include violet, white, and vivid red. I have yet to see any of the red ones—but they’re on my “bucket list.”

From the name morning glory, one can correctly assume that it’s a morning-blooming flower, and most blooms fade by eleven o’clock. This blooming habit is common to many varieties of wildflowers, so if you truly want to see what’s blooming in your neighborhood, get out there early!

The object lesson is clear: In the spiritual realm, if you want to find a beautiful message from God, don’t delay! Start your day by seeking Him. In this way, you will find beautiful revelations of truth and strength for your day—and you’ll have all day to meditate on it.

There are other hidden benefits to this interesting plant. The bigroot morning glory (also known as the wild sweet potato) has an edible tuber. Having sampled many wild foods in the past, I was tempted to try this wild edible until I discovered that the taproot-like tuber can be four inches in diameter, weigh more than 60 pounds, and be buried several feet underground! The white star variety also produces edible tubers, but it is not common. Some may be surprised to learn that the cultivated sweet potato is in the morning glory family. In fact, the sweet potato is used widely in many different cuisines worldwide, from South America to the West Indies and even the Far East.

Sweet potatoes are packed with nutrients, including carotenes and vitamins C and B6. In the southern states, the traditional way to serve sweet potato is mashed and topped with brown sugar, cinnamon, and marshmallows. (we won’t even talk about sweet potato pie!) But my new favorite way to prepare a sweet potato is the Maori way: roasted and served with sweet chili sauce and sour cream (I like to use a non-dairy version).

Like most things in God’s Creation, there are many more things we can learn—if we “dig a little deeper.” When we take the time to study the things of God a little more intentionally, we find fresh revelations about Him. And we’re sure to find sweet nuggets of truth as we heed the instruction found in Psalm 34:8: “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”

  • NUGGETS FROM NEHEMIAH NO 1

    GOD'S MAN

The Salvation Army was founded by a Methodist Preacher by the name of William Booth.  Its mission was to share the message of repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ alone.  Booth sent many people all over England burdened to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He sent two women Kate and Mary Jackson to Leeds to oversee a mission there.  They laboured in Leeds for a couple of years and nothing happened.  These young ladies toiled every day giving all they had without any return.  Then one day they wrote to William Booth, “Would you kindly move us to another station?  We’re so tired and disheartened.  We’ve tried everything that we’ve been taught to do.  Please move us to another location”

Booth sent a telegram back with two words written: “Try tears!”

Those two sisters began to pray and travail for souls and they finally experienced real revival.  Kate and Mary did just as General Booth said, and God moved mightily.  The Leeds Salvation Army church soon became the largest outside of London.

William Booth was a man like Nehemiah who knew the power of prayer.  He also knew the power of tears; he had unlocked the missing link in today's church.  We preach, we share, we have events, but something is missing, he knew the truth of Psalm 126:

5 Those who sow in tears
shall reap with shouts of joy!
6 He who goes out weeping,
        bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
        bringing his sheaves with him.

We sow, and we do not reap.  I wonder why?  All through the Bible, we have people who wept and cried openly, for whatever reason: Jeremiah, David, Paul, Peter, and Jesus Himself.

I want to focus on the man Nehemiah.  He was an amazing man!  He was a man of power, a man of prayer; I love Nehemiah.  If you are building a work for God, this is a "how to book”, but it starts with tears and it starts with power.

Nehemiah was a unique man.  Let me say some things about him.  It says he was the kings' cupbearer, but he was much more than that; he was one of the kings' inner circle, a trusted friend.  Look at chapter 2.  He had the ear of the king, and the king notices his manner and wanted to know how long he would be away.

Let’s see Nehemiah's reaction was to the news coming from Jerusalem:

He was interested in the work vs. 2

He could have kept doing his job for the king...  after all Jerusalem wasn't his problem.  But his heart was still in his homeland.  I suppose it's a bit like me.  Although I am far away from the UK, my heart and my prayers are still there for my beloved homeland.  It's like Paul in Romans 9:1-4.  He's the apostle to the gentiles, but his heart still yearns for his own people.  How interested are you in God's work?  Not just in your own church, but do you know what's going on around the world and how God is working?

He made an immediate response vs. 4

It says as soon as he heard these words; these words obviously struck a chord deep within him.  So often when we hear something, we put our response off.  Nehemiah didn't just hear these words, but he acted immediately.  In a race, the athlete’s reaction time to the starter’s gun is all important.  Let me ask you Christian: What’s your reaction time like?  When something comes to your attention or needs to get done, how long does it take you to get involved?

He had incredible passion for prayer vs. 4 c/f Ezra 9

Both Ezra and Nehemiah were people who knew their God and were able to pray fervently and effectively  See also Daniel 11:32. We go to prayer meetings and we have private prayer, but do we pray like these guys did?  You and me think we pray, but we don't really pray?  Do we weep, do we mourn for days on end?  No wonder Nehemiah had not only the king's favour, but also more importantly God's... and now you can understand why.

He interceded for Israel vs. 5-6

To stand in the gap means to intercede like Moses did in Exodus 17 when Joshua fought Amalek, the children of Israel at Jerusalem who were either unable or unwilling to pray for themselves, so Nehemiah took on that responsibility.  He took it on and prayed passionately and fervently.  How is your intercession for your fellow believers?  Who are you standing in the gap for?

He implicated himself in Israel's sin vs. 6-7

He didn't absolve himself from the sin of the people of Israel.  He didn't say, "Well I've been here, so you can't blame me!”  He blames himself for being part of the problem!  Judah had rebelled and he had rebelled also.  He didn't put himself on a pedestal, but he admitted his sin.

He invoked God's promises vs. 8-9

Remember back to Joshua 24, Deuteronomy 6 and 28, God said to the children of Israel, "You had a choice.  You can choose to serve Me or not, but here is what will happen if you don't serve Me.”  Nehemiah reminds God of His promise.  Look at the promise at the end of verse 9; although the people were outcasts and scattered, God had promised to bring them back.  Remember if God promises something, He will always bring it to pass...  amen

He had an intimacy in prayer vs. 5-11

Nehemiah was a man of prayer and therefore a man of power.  We get a glimpse into his prayer life here in this prayer.  It is so intimate, so full of power; you ask how should we pray for God's work?  His prayer is the blueprint.  Do we pray like this??

He was instant in prayer ch1:4 and ch2:4

Paul says in 1 Thess 5:18 to pray without stopping or ceasing.  That doesn't mean you pray 24/7, but that your first reaction to any given situation is like Nehemiah's.  In Chapter 2:4, he was asked by the king, "What is your request?”  He could have said what he wanted, but before he spoke, he prayed.  If we prayed before we speak, how different the outcome would be.

He had a godly influence on those around him

Nehemiah was a trusted adviser to the king.  The king wanted to know in chapter 2 how long Nehemiah would be away for.  Why was he concerned about this?  Because he knew that Nehemiah gave good advice.  He was truly the salt and light in the court of the king.  Let me ask you... if you left your place of work or school for a period, how much would you be missed?  Look at verse 6 of chapter 2; it pleased the king to send me, what a testimony of Nehemiah's character.

    He had integrity

The king gave things into the hand of Nehemiah because he knew that he could be trusted.  He knew that he wasn't going to run off and build another city somewhere else, Nehemiah was a man who could be trusted.  Can You?  The king granted him what he asked, for the good hand of the Lord was upon him, the hand of the Lord doesn't bless those who can't be trusted.

He inspected the damage and dealt with the main issue ch 2:11-16

Nehemiah is now in Jerusalem and one of the first things he does is to go and inspect the walls.  Before he can put anything right, he had to see what had to be done.  He was a reformer, who did reform Israel, but he saw the main problem and that was that the wall was broken down.  Look at his words in Chapter 2:17. Sometimes we need to address the main issue and leave the rest till later.

    He inspired others ch 2:18

In vs. 18, he gives a rallying call to the workers.  These workers are totally demoralised.  They have given up building the wall, but here comes Nehemiah and he just totally inspires them to the point that they say, "Let's build the wall!”  What an inspiration he was!  Do you inspire others by your actions and your words?

    He ignored persecution ch 2:18-20

Sanballat and Tobiah are two of the nastiest characters in the whole Bible.  They were persistent through the whole book of Nehemiah.  Don't they remind you or anyone?  Yes the devil.  These tactics they use are the ones he uses; from open ridicule, to discouragement, to seeking to plant corrupt officials within the Jewish people.  His reaction is, and look at the end of verse 20, our God is going to prosper and you two and I use these words carefully,  YOU CAN GO AWAY, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE HERE.

Maybe next time we suffer ridicule and discouragement, you should tell the devil, to go away; he has no right to be here... amen.

This all happened because one man wept and took prayerful action.  He wept and prayed.
We sow in tears and we reap in joy.
The Lord wants you all to know this... you cannot reap without weeping.
Before you can start to do a work for God, you have to weep over the state of man.

William Booth was asked what training he would give his officers.  He replied that he would hold them over the flames of hell to smell the torment of the unsaved.

Finally, we have the reason why all this happened.

    God intervened!

At this point of history, he raised up a man like Nehemiah to rebuild the walls and to reform the people of Israel.  The walls of our Churches are as broken down as in Nehemiah's day.  God is looking for men and women who he can use to rebuild and reform.

Are you that man or women?
     God bless you

He implicated himself in Israel's sin vs. 6-7 He didn't absolve himself from the sin of the people of Israel.  He didn't say, "Well I've been here, so you can't blame me!”  He blames himself for being part of the problem!  Judah had rebelled and he had rebelled also.  He didn't put himself on a pedestal, but he admitted his sin.   He invoked God's promises vs. 8-9   Remember back to Joshua 24, Deuteronomy 6 and 28, God said to the children of Israel, "You had a choice.  You can choose to serve Me or not, but here is what will happen if you don't serve Me.”  Nehemiah reminds God of His promise.  Look at the promise at the end of verse 9; although the people were outcasts and scattered, God had promised to bring them back.  Remember if God promises something, He will always bring it to pass...  amen     He had an intimacy in prayer vs. 5-11   Nehemiah was a man of prayer and therefore a man of power.  We get a glimpse into his prayer life here in this prayer.  It is so intimate, so full of power; you ask how should we pray for God's work?  His prayer is the blueprint.  Do we pray like this??   He was instant in prayer ch1:4 and ch2:4 Paul says in 1 Thess 5:18 to pray without stopping or ceasing. He had a godly influence on those around him Nehemiah was a trusted adviser to the king. He had integrity   The king gave things into the hand of Nehemiah because he knew that he could be trusted.  He knew that he wasn't going to run off and build another city somewhere else, Nehemiah was a man who could be trusted.  Can You?  The king granted him what he asked, for the good hand of the Lord was upon him, the hand of the Lord doesn't bless those who can't be trusted.   He inspected the damage and dealt with the main issue ch 2:11-16   Nehemiah is now in Jerusalem and one of the first things he does is to go and inspect the walls.  Before he can put anything right, he had to see what had to be done.  He was a reformer, who did reform Israel, but he saw the main problem and that was that the wall was broken down.  Look at his words in Chapter 2:17. Sometimes we need to address the main issue and leave the rest till later. He inspired others ch 2:18 In vs. He ignored persecution ch 2:18-20   Sanballat and Tobiah are two of the nastiest characters in the whole Bible. God bless you KK PLEASE VIEW THE WONDERFUL GUEST DEVOTIONS ON THIS PAGE https://totallylovedbygod67.cw.center/category/guest-devotions/

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

This morning, we woke up to fog. As I sit at my desk and look out the window, I can see the beauty of the sun breaking through the haze in the trees. The front of my house, where my office is, faces the east, so the beauty of the sunrise blesses me each morning. When I made my coffee, the kitchen sits on the west side of the house. I looked out my kitchen window, and the fog was pretty dense, but the light was clearly visible in its midst. Looking out my office window, I can see the rays reflecting off the dew that has settled on my swing…sparkling as though it were saying ‘good morning’. I have always enjoyed a good morning sunrise, but there is something about them now that makes them even more special.

Yesterday I was blessed with breakfast with my mother. A heads up from a friend. A beautiful drive. A soccer win with my grandson. Then a completely wonderful drive home with a sunset that should be on a postcard. A truly spectacular day indeed.

As you all know, because I torture you with this information, I enter writing challenges and competitions. Yesterday, the Destination Unknown challenge issued the last line of the story. Quick reminder, they gave us the first line, then two twists, then the last line … and it is all supposed to flow nicely. After the first twist, I am betting several dropped out. Then the second twist I am quite sure there were those who said no thank you. Now, this last line…is not as odd as I thought they were going to do. After reviewing the story I have in place, it actually and humorously works quite well. I believe I have about a week to finish it, then submit. Who knows, maybe I will make the top three again, or maybe even…if I dare to dream … winner. But I can say that this challenge has made me use my brain, which will aid in the next book, I am sure.

I mention the challenge and its rules, because as they revealed the first line, my brain instantly went “huh?”. The first twist actually gave me a “hmm. Maybe”. The second twist, I was ready to say “not me”, but … then the competitor inside of me said that I would not be beaten. I threw together a couple of hook lines that grabbed traction. I put it through a story analyzer and laughed at its evaluation. And now, with this last line, because of the story content, this line will bring a sense of backhanded humor to the story. When the competition is done, I will post it.

So, when this challenge put in place items that were out of the normal range of thinking, a part of me wanted to retreat and just not try. I wasn’t feeling it. However, as I let the thoughts simmer on low, the heat of challenge accepted rose, and I am so glad I did. I really like the story. Much of our walk with Jesus is formulated the same way. He gives us a path. We politely decline. Then he gives us another piece. We mull it over, then decline again. A third piece or fourth piece or even fifth piece…still looking for a way out. But…something in our spirit changes, and we decide to accept the challenge. When we do, the final line of the story appears, and what we have accomplished is marvelous. Not only for us, but for the path we walked in eventual obedience, and the Kingdom.

The Father knows how moody we are, how toddler temperamental we are, how menopausal and second childhood acting we can be … this is why when he gives us a path, he adds little nuggets along the way. He knows that we will come around, and when we do, the ending will blow our minds away.

When you get that lead to do something out of the norm, do not dismiss it right away. Take a moment and walk the path of your story. Think about the possibilities. While you are there, look for the nuggets. Watch what He can do with just little pieces of simple obedience. Should you choose to try to get out of it, I would like to remind you of Jonah. Just saying.

Today, go to Him. Ask him for the first step and a nugget. He will be pleased that you are willing and able. Take those first steps and enjoy the beauty He provides. In that beauty comes the peace you are seeking.

    Be blessed.

**Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. – Colossians 3:2-4

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Family Under Siege is out for production. eBook vendors have already picked it up, and it is available. The printed version should be done in a week or so. At least that is what the sight said. Super excited about this one.

I have a couple of short stories that I need to work on that are due in May, then I will be putting together and Anthology of my short stories—taking these little nuggets of odd inspiration and putting them together in one spot. Last night I was trying to think of an appropriate title; however, all I came up with was: Where Was My Brain?

The book that I just published fell short of the requirement for the challenge of 50k words. I am sure without a doubt that the short story collection will more than satisfy that requirement. Reason being that most of the stories that I am going to use were required to have a minimum of 1000 words, but no more than 5000 words, and I have a lot of short stories.

Today I go to pay my respects to a family member who went home a couple of days ago. A very determined and spirited woman, wife, and mother of two very tall sons … haha. Afterwards, I think that I might go on to see my mommy again and surprise her with a drive or something … maybe a Scrabble day. Who knows.

Though today is not a full schedule of here and there in the world view, it will be a full day of showing up and serving my Father. Giving hugs where hugs are needed. A kind smile where one is felt. A gentle word of encouragement in a time of need. And simply my presence of support in the time of a storm. Not only at the funeral home, but with all those that I encounter today. Storms happen everywhere all day long. When we, as the church, show up … the storm ceases. For that person, the demons that they are facing know that we are the servants and soldiers of the Most High and flee when we walk in His confidence. For the person, it may only be a moment of peace for the time of our presence, but it is the peace that they were lacking. Add a hug or kind word, and the chaos quiets even more.

Today, I encourage you to be that face, the confidence, that presence, that encouragement that quells their chaos. Be the person you would want to be if you were them. Hope.

    Be blessed.

**For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. – Isaiah 41:13

  • Revelation 13:10 “If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

It is funny how we rarely dig into the book of Revelation, yet here we are for the third time this month alone pulling out nuggets of wisdom and truth about patience. Today’s verse speaks of what is widely considered the Great Tribulation and speaks of a time of great persecution and trial for believers. Whether you are a pre or post Tributionist believer, we can agree on the fact that none of us want to be present during this time in history because it will be a very unpleasant experience for all involved.

At this point in the story, the Antichrist will have been empowered by Satan to rule and to wage war against the believers for forty-two months. This will be a period of great persecution and the believers, whether they be new believers that have come about since the beginning of the End times or believers who are still present on earth when the Antichrist takes power, we don’t know. But they will have war waged against them, and we know war is never a pleasant experience for those in the crosshairs.

This verse instructs Christians that while the beast will persecute them, God is sovereign. The saints are called to "endurance and faith" rather than violent resistance. John reminds the people who are reading his words that though we may face persecution, whatever happens will ultimately happen and God will be glorified in it. We may not understand at the time but once we get through the trial and come out the other side we often see God’s guiding hand leading us through and out.

I pray we escape the trials and tribulation that the believers of Revelation will experience, but we know that if any are to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. It cannot be thwarted. And if any are to die by the sword, by the sword will they die. There is no escape and there is no need to fight. We stand firm in our beliefs and know that we will be with God one way or another and our momentary trials are just a blink in the eye of eternity, so persevere, trust, and let Him be our strength and hope.

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

I really do not like Daylight Saving Time. All this does, in my opinion, is mess with our internal clocks. As Spring continues to move into place and Summer right behind it, staying (light) later only magnifies the issues with our sleep patterns. I am pretty sure this decision to mess with the clocks was a marketing tool to make us all have to buy the heavy curtains that really block out light. I have found no other rational purpose for it.

Your giggle for the day. Yesterday was a wonderful day. Truly. Beautiful weather. Too many employees. Not enough mail. Easy. Because it was an easy day, I decided to carrier observation. I got five done. I was so proud. Even was excited to tell my boss … she was not as excited. She was, but my timing was off. I thought that it was an hour earlier than it was because I had used the clock in my truck to note the times for the observations, and I had not changed that clock yet. When it hit me why she was so frustrated with my excitement, I was like “Crap Nuggets”. I had to change all my times to reflect the correction, and I needed to fit in a quick lunch before my people started coming in. I was now into the PM of the day. After all her meetings we laughed, but boy howdy, it was not very funny to her while it was happening. I give her kudos for not winging a stapler at me.

Since I am on this time kick this morning, I will go ahead and blame it for my flatulence as well. Why not? If time would be left alone, I would not have eaten all those onions and drank that soda. I am sure it is the clock’s fault.

Hopefully, you see the need for humor in my post. I could have allowed all the mishaps and issues to cause a shift in my mood, but I have found a way to flip the dumb of yesterday into a smile for today. Whatever you have going on, find some nugget of dumb and flip it upside down. There is humor in most everything the enemy throws at us. If even for a small moment, find the joy in the chaos and the rubble. In the joy, you find peace. In the peace, you find happiness. In the happiness, you find Love.

    Be blessed today.

**Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6
