Prayer becomes hurried. Family worship weakens. Mission is postponed. “Trust… not in uncertain riches, but in the living God.” — 1 Timothy 6:17 Satan need not make us openly deny Christ— only too absorbed in gain to walk closely with Him. --- ③ IT RISKS THE MASTER’S PROPERTY Everything belongs to Christ. We are stewards—not owners. “It is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” — 1 Corinthians 4:2 Speculation treats God’s entrusted means as though no account must be given. Jesus never debated him on his terms. He answered 3 times: “IT IS WRITTEN” John 1:5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” We don’t go into darkness to fight it. We shine light. --- POINT 1: THE WARNING - PROVERBS 26:4 TO TEACHERS Proverbs 26:4 “Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself.” What does this mean for teachers today? “DON'T USE QURAN TO ANSWER QURAN” Don’t fight error with error. Don’t use another book to prove another book. The moment a teacher of the Word picks up the enemy’s weapon, they risk “lest you be like him yourself.” 2 Corinthians 4:2 “we refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word” Galatians 5:9 “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.” “BUT ONLY TRUTH TO ANSWER LIES OF QURAN” What is Truth? John 17:17 “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” Ephesians 5:11 “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” Ephesians 6:17 “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Jesus, Peter, Paul never quoted pagan books to win people. They preached “Christ crucified” 1 Cor 1:23 and “It is written”. DIRECT WARNING TO TEACHERS: Brother/Sister, if you are mixing the Bible with other books to "win arguments" or "reach Muslims" — STOP. James 3:1 “we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.” Truth and error cannot walk together Amos 3:3. You will corrupt the Gospel Gal 1:8-9. POINT 2: JESUS’ JUDGMENT ON CHURCHES WHO COMPROMISED Revelation 2:14-16 To Pergamum: “you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam... Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth.” Balaam’s sin? Compromise and mixing to get God’s people to sin Num 31:16. Jesus says He will WAR against teachers who mix. Revelation 2:5 To Ephesus: “Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will remove your lampstand.” You can lose your light as a church if you don’t abide in truth. POINT 3: WE WIN SOULS BY GRACE, NOT BY KNOWLEDGE OR EFFORTS This is why many teachers fall into mixing. They think: “If I master their book, I’ll win them.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing” 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 “my message was not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” The 144,000 Rev 14:4-5 overcame by: Blood RED7 🔴 + Testimony + Following the Lamb + No lie in their mouth. God saves. John 6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.” Our job: Faithfully preach the Word. The Spirit GREEN7 🌱 convicts. POINT 4: HOW TO ANSWER LIES - 3 BIBLICAL STEPS ANSWER WITH SCRIPTURE ONLY 2 Tim 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable” Example: Lie - “Jesus didn’t die.” Truth - Isaiah 53:5, 1 Cor 15:3-4 EXPOSE, DON’T EMBRACE Eph 5:11 - Shine light on the lie. LOST IN THE CHURCH Part Three CIVILIZATION / RESPECTABILITY One of the greatest things religion could achieve at its highest level is to try to make a person extremely good and civilized. However, being civilized is not a fruit of the Spirit, it is not holiness, and it is not Christianity. A civilized person may be someone who believes that he can calm God's anger through good behavior and by keeping religious laws. The origin of this kind of civilization is the attempt to please God by conforming to the spirit of this world—by obeying human expectations more than the will of God. Many people assume that being loved and accepted by the world is the same as being loved by God. But Jesus Himself was not "civilized" according to the standards people often use today. How could He be, when He called Herod, the ruler of His country, "that fox"? (Luke 13:32) Where have you ever seen a "civilized" person make a whip of cords, drive people out of the Temple, overturn the tables and chairs of the merchants, and scatter their money? (John 2:15) Tell me, where have you ever seen a civilized person behave like that? It amazes me that today civilization and politeness are sometimes mistaken for Christianity. THE GRACE OF GOD > "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." John 1:17 Jesus did not come to establish salvation through the Mosaic Law. And if the Law given through Moses could not accomplish God's ultimate purpose of restoring humanity to Him, then holiness cannot be achieved merely by keeping laws. Rather, it is through the grace of God, freely given to the person who looks to the Lord. However, I am not saying that there is no law under grace. What I mean is that the law operating within grace is the law of love. Love must come first, and obedience follows. To put law before love is slavery. And the Lord clearly said that God's children are free. (Matthew 17:26) Therefore, we do not obey God's commandments in order to create love within ourselves. We obey because we have already begun to love God. Remember what the Word says in John 14:15: > "If ye love me, keep my commandments." Notice the order of the words. The order matters. Love comes first. He loved us first. (1 John 4:19) Therefore, when we obey His commandments, His laws, or His truth, it should be because His love has taken root in our hearts. Otherwise, we risk falling into the very spirit of deception and error that has existed throughout history—the spirit of religion. If you read 1 Corinthians 13, beginning from verse 1 onward, you will see the Apostle Paul explaining how empty it is for a person to perform even something apparently spiritual or divine when there is no love in his heart. SALVATION: GRACE AND WORKS Salvation is by grace, and it is freely given because of the finished work of the Cross of Jesus Christ. Therefore, any attempt to offer our own achievements as payment for acceptance before God is essentially an insult to the Cross, because it suggests that Christ's sacrifice was insufficient. And the Lord will not accept anyone who attempts to approach Him on such a basis. GRACE VS. WORKS Today, a large number of believers are lost in the Church because they have failed to properly distinguish between these two concepts: works and grace. The way of life often passes through truths that appear to be in tension. I do not mean grace alone while completely rejecting obedience. Neither do I mean works alone while ignoring grace. It is not everything done by God, nor is it everything done by us. Some have gone too far into the direction of legalistic works. Others, after thinking they have understood grace, have been pushed to the opposite extreme and become lost in a distorted understanding of grace. If you approach Scripture with a distorted "grace-only" mindset, you can become lost in that extreme. Likewise, if you approach Scripture entirely through the lens of works, you can also become lost. The Bible clearly says: > "Faith without works is dead." Yet it is also a great deception to perform works merely so that you can be considered a person of faith. Yes, the Lord carried the Cross for us, and that is grace. But have you ever asked yourself why He also told us to take up our own cross and follow Him? (Luke 9:23) That is where we discover that we also have a part to fulfill. Once you understand that it is not grace without responsibility, do not overreact and jump with both feet into legalism. If you do, you will fall into another dangerous deception: believing that God can be found through human effort. Some people believe that if they pray for extremely long periods, jump up and down, give this or that offering, perform certain religious activities, or do particular things, then God will finally hear them. Sadly, such ideas have become widespread in the house of God today. I have often wondered about the prophets of Baal and how they cut themselves with swords and knives until blood flowed while calling upon their god in the days of the prophet Elijah. Could that not also be a picture of people who would arise in our generation, believing that God's goodness can be obtained through religious effort and works of the law? 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 “Let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.” — Esther 7:3 Esther had prepared for this moment. She had fasted. She had approached the king. She had carefully arranged the banquet. She understood the seriousness of standing before the king, knowing that her life itself could be at risk. But preparation was not the destination. There came a moment when Esther had to speak. When the king asked, “What is thy petition?”, Esther did not use her position for comfort, preservation, or personal advantage. She revealed the reality facing her people: “We are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish.” — Esther 7:4 Esther saw something that others could have overlooked. She understood that Haman's decree was not merely a political decision. It was an attack upon the future and existence of an entire people. She looked at her generation through the lens of history, present reality, and future destiny. She knew who her people were. She understood what had been decreed against them. And she recognized what would happen if nothing was done. 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁: There is a spiritual lesson here for us. We also live in a generation where the enemy works through subtlety, deception, distraction, and the distortion of truth. The consequences are not always immediately visible. Yet Scripture tells us that the ultimate enemy of humanity seeks destruction. Esther's discernment teaches us that God's people must not merely observe what is happening around them. We must learn to see. To see history. To see the condition of the present generation. To see where the present direction is leading. And above all, to see God's purposes in the midst of it. Esther could have remained silent. After all, she was queen. Perhaps she could have protected herself and allowed the decree to take its course. But she understood that her position was not merely a privilege. It was an opportunity for mission. God had placed her where she was “for such a time as this.” 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: There is a difference between being prepared and being willing. Esther had prepared herself, but eventually preparation had to produce action. There comes a moment when prayer must become obedience, conviction must become testimony, and preparation must become courageous speech. Esther's petition was not simply, “Save me.” It was: “Save me—and save my people.” Her identification with her people is striking. Their suffering became her concern. Their threatened future became her burden. This points us toward Jesus. Christ did not remain distant from humanity's condition. He entered into it. He took upon Himself our humanity, bore our sins upon the cross, and gave His life so that those under the sentence of death might receive eternal life. The gospel tells us that humanity's greatest enemy is not ultimately Haman, a government, a culture, or another human being. It is sin and death. But the story does not end with the decree. There is a King. There is a Redeemer. There is a deliverance. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗺𝘆'𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀: Haman had prepared gallows for Mordecai. But in the providence of God, the very instrument Haman prepared for the destruction of God's servant became the instrument of Haman's own judgment. Then Harbonah spoke: “Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai...” — Esther 7:9 Harbonah's observation seems small, but it becomes part of the turning point. Someone saw. Someone spoke. Someone pointed out what the enemy had prepared. And the king acted. This reminds us that even when darkness appears to have the advantage, God has not abandoned His work in the earth. There are still witnesses. There are still people whom the Holy Spirit is awakening. There are still voices pointing people toward truth. There are still people being led to see Jesus. We are called to proclaim the gospel, make disciples of all nations, love our neighbors, pray for our communities, and faithfully carry out every responsibility He has placed before us. Like Esther, we have been placed in this generation by God's providence. Like Mordecai, we are called to remain faithful even when obedience is costly. Like Harbonah, we must not remain silent when truth needs to be spoken. But above all, we look to Jesus Christ, the greater Deliverer. Esther risked her life before an earthly king. Jesus willingly laid down His life before the King of heaven to accomplish the Father's will. Esther interceded for a nation under the sentence of death. Jesus intercedes for all who come to God through Him, having secured salvation by His finished work on the cross. One day every earthly kingdom will pass away. Every decree of wickedness will be overturned. Every injustice will be judged. Every tear will be wiped away. The King who once came in humility will return in glory. Until then, may we not waste the place, time, or opportunities God has given us. May we watch and pray. May we search the Scriptures daily. May we worship Christ with thankful hearts. May we encourage His people. May we faithfully share the good news while there is still time. And may our lives continually declare: "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." When you turn your back on God, take His name in vain and openly mock Jesus Christ, which has become so normal in Britain, you cannot then expect everything to continue prospering without consequences. The wages of sin is death. The UK is in a mess right now. No matter who you vote for, the real answer is that people need to turn back to God.” Yet Leeds is not purely pessimistic.
