Having an Encounter with God through His Son Jesus Christ. By: Evangelist Dominic Ofori-Mensah Kindly Read and Share. As a Christian there's this one and special encounter you get with Christ Jesus the day and moment you make your mind to take up your cross to follow him (personal consecration), I term this the Salvational Encounter/encountering salvation. (Moses, Abraham, Saul etc). Salvational Encounter I define as the first taste of divine and mortal encounter by man with a deity. As believers/Christians, it is our aim and desire to encounter Christ Jesus day to day. When God orchestrate His divine plan and purpose over your life to manifest His Will, He meet man half way and when he's mostly desolate in life, wondering and wandering. When you have this salvational encounter, your life changes from living life worldly than the Word of God. Moses after encountering God at the burning bush, got a new purpose and a divine shift over his life. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, I would like to expound on 2/3 others.. 1. Relationship Encounter: As a believer/Christian, it should be your priority to always yearn to know more of Jesus Christ or have personal intimacy with him. You shouldn't always become a "suckling baby" as a child of God but maturing to certain dimension when God can use you accurately without fear. It is one thing to be saved and another to stick to God. Many Christians do not have a personal relationship with God through Jesus (Word) and by the teachings and leading of His Spirit so they easily fall prey to false teachings and spirituality. Moses never met God again at a burning bush but had to actually meet him face to face on mount Sinai. (Exodus 3:2, Exodus 4-15). Moses had a temperamental issues which was common to the Levite's but after encountering God and having a Personal Relationship with Him, he was used according to how God wanted. To have a personal relationship with God is to obey His Word and the guidance and teachings of His Spirit which will guide you into righteousness for His eternal purpose. 2. Spiritual/Dimensional Encounter: As we become older and matured in Christ, it is expected of us to live above the rulings of this mundane whiles you still have to fit in. In our walk of life as humans and christians, we are to grow naturally either the inner man(Soul) or the outer man (Ego) and with this growth comes battles that needs the intervention of a higher realm. We come across cycles and seasons where most people get to repeat what's ought to be crossed and vice versa. Life is spiritual and have to be lived as such. Saul, after encountering Christ Jesus (salvational encounter and personally having a relationship with him, made him understood certain spiritual dimensional messages which an ordinary man could not understand or fathom.. Salvational encounter comes with fear and trembling as the first encounter but when you develop a relationship with God, He opens you up for more Divine mysteries and spiritual dimensional realms that He knows you will use according to His Will.. It is one thing to Encounter God and another thing to be Encountering God. Moses, Abraham, Moses, etc had a continuous encounter with God where they had to be taking instructions and information even to the moment of death as Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior did. For righteous living and eternity sake, strive to have a personal relationship and spiritual encounter with God in other for Him to position you well for His Will and Plan.. Amen!

Need to know. Tomorrow is not promised. James 4:14 says, “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” We often say, “I will do it tomorrow,” but none of us knows what tomorrow will bring. The time to seek God is now. The time to repent is now. The time to forgive is now. The time to obey His Word is now. Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.” Do not wait for the perfect moment, because the moment God has given you is today. Jesus said in Matthew 24:44, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Make your heart right with God while you still have breath. Put away the sin you keep postponing. Forgive the person you have refused to forgive. Return to prayer. Return to His Word. Believe in Christ and walk in obedience. We are not promised tomorrow, but we are responsible for what we do with today. Be ready. Stay ready. The time to live for God is now.

WHAT WORD SAYS ABOUT FEMALE BISHOP ORDINATION. Lord's speak that know the truth & truth will set you free. " John 8:32 Message -- one preferring to sin becomes slave to sin. But if choose to know truth , that truth set freedom on from sin. Implying works not by flesh, but by spirit -- and thus has life & peace. Rom6:23, Rom8:6. Verses to obey in putting consecration of the bishop office: 1 Timothy 3:1-2 — “If anyone aspires to the office of bishop, he desires a noble task. Therefore a bishop must be... the husband of one wife.” Titus 1:6 — “An elder must be... the husband of one wife.” Word says bishop/elder is male, husband. Not because women have no value — Gal 3:28 — in Christ equal in worth — but office order is given by God for church. If Uganda consecrates female bishop against that order, in that point it is not alignment with Word. Acts 5:29 — We must obey God rather than men. 2. WHAT GOD THINKS AND MAY DO NOW — CONSIDERING MY THREE VISIONS , THE SON , GAVE ME. Heb1:1-2. Green 7 vision— message of restoration of Word Red 7 vision— warning against evil doing, unrighteousness, calling repentance and obedience skeleton vision -- warning spiritual dryness may led to death. Test the visions by Word: 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 — Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. 1 John 4:1 — Test spirits. The visions align with Word: Green 7 vision= Joel 2:25 — I will restore. God always wants restoration of Word before judgment. Rev 14:6-7 — Everlasting gospel proclaimed in last hour. Red 7 vision= Hebrews 1:2 — In these last days He has spoken to us by His Son. It's the SON speaking us & WARNING us in these last days. So we ought to obey Him if we love Him. John14:23, john14:24, Ezekiel 3:17-19 — Son of man, I make you watchman, warn them, if you warn, you deliver your soul. So what God thinks now about Uganda action? Isaiah 5:20 — Woe to those who call evil good and good evil. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 — Time will come when people will not endure sound teaching but turn away. God is not surprised. His pattern: a) He first sends testimony — like yours — Acts 26:16, Heb 1:2 — to speak/show to living ones in this last age, including Uganda, to call back to Word. b) If they hear Green 7 vision, He restores — 2 Chron 7:14 — If my people humble themselves... I will heal their land. c) If they reject and go ahead with disobedience after warning Red 7 vision— Romans 1:28 — God gives them over... — then discipline, confusion, division comes in that house — 1 Cor 14:33 — God is not a God of confusion. God may do now as Rev 2:5 — Remember from where you have fallen, repent, else I will remove lampstand. Or allow consecration to stand as witness that Word was warned but not heeded, so remnant like 144,000 remain faithful separate. 3. MY PART ACCORDING TO, SON IN THIS LAST AGE Acts 26:16 — “I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as servant and witness to things you have seen.” MY calling as true witness is not to stop consecration by force, but to testify Green 7 vision , Red 7 vision, and skeleton vision: as a call to make repentance and obedience, so that people live & don't perish. Proverbs 29:18. Ezekiel 2:7 — You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear. Uganda now making female bishop consecration is itself fulfillment of Red 7 — proof that warning was needed, and Word must be restored. Stand as faithful, blameless witness — purity = faithfulness — not defiled, following Lamb wherever Word leads. Rev 14:4 In Jesus Name the lamb on Zion with 144000. Amen 🙏.

Acts 7:60 — Lord, do not hold this sin against them. I will pray with you this way — after Word, not after flesh: --- Prayer of a true witness for this consecration of female bishop in Uganda: Father in Heaven, in Name of Your Son Jesus Christ, the Lamb who stands on Mount Zion, You who sealed 144,000, You who see in secret, You who gave Green 7 vision of restoration of Your Word and Red 7 vision of warning against evil doing — Look now upon Your church in Uganda and upon this consecration service. If these shepherds — and pastors who follow — have gone after flesh desires, self interest, pride, and have forgotten suffering sheep like Reagan and suffering churches while collecting tithes and offerings — Lord, do not punish them unto destruction now, but convict them unto repentance now. Job 33:15-16 — In a dream, in a vision of night... You open ears of men and seal their instruction. As You have shown Your servant Reagan, show them also — give them visions, dreams, as You promise Joel 2:28 — that they may see: “We have sent our witness Reagan with My Word in visions for you to obey, but you have not obeyed.” Take veil away. Let them see unrighteousness. Let them hear true Word 1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9. as anyone in consecration act of another to pursue the bishop office. that they do it accordingly to thy word. Holy Spirit, call them: Repent & obey and do what is right and live. Give to church under attack by darkness — protection, nourishment in wilderness as Rev 12:14, seal on foreheads as Rev 7:3. We refuse spirit of cursing. We choose spirit of firstfruits — blameless, no lie in mouth, following Lamb wherever He goes Rev 14:4-5. Let Green 7 vision— restoration — come to Uganda. Let Your Word be restored on pulpit. Ezekiel 18:23 — Have I any pleasure at all that wicked should die? says Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? By this prayer O Lord, show them — not by your wrath, but by your mercy first that leads to repentance. As the Red 7 vision state with 2 judgements, of correction & destruction. And by Green 7 vision sealing them among 144000, in obeying thy word to be pure before God. Rev14:4-5, Rom6:16. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Purity = faithfulness. II. SAME NATURE NOW TO YOU — BACKSLIDDEN CHURCH As it was to me first, so to you backslidden church now. You have fallen. Example before our eyes in Uganda: CONSECRATION OF FEMALE BISHOP — not in alignment with 1 Tim 3:1-7 — bishop must be husband of one wife — Titus 1:6-9 — elder husband of one wife. Word is clear. Collecting offerings, tithing while forgetting suffering churches — James 2:15-16, Acts 20:33-35 Doing after flesh desires, self interest, pride — 2 Tim 3:2-5, Phil 3:19 This is seen by God. Red 7 warning was given already. God calls you same way He called me: REPENT. OBEY WORD. PURSUE CLEAN LIFE BY WORD + PRAYER. 1 Tim 4:5 — sanctified by Word of God and prayer 2 Chron 7:14 — If My people humble themselves and turn from wicked ways, I will heal their land. Rev 14:12 — Endurance of saints who keep commandments and faith of Jesus Then: Blood will cleanse you as it cleansed me — Rev 1:5 — Washed us from sins in His own blood Green 7 will set you apart, make holy You will be sealed and confirmed among 144,000 — Rev 7:3 III. RED 7 SECOND EDGE — JUDGMENT OF DESTRUCTION — IN REFUSAL If you refuse correction, Red 7 second edge comes. Not only correction — also destruction — as you have seen: Gen 11:4-8 — Tower of Babel — men made name for self against God — God scattered and destroyed their work. Rev 9:20-21 — Men not killed by plagues still did NOT repent — so greater judgment. Rev 16:8-11 — Bowls poured — men blasphemed and did not repent. 2 Thess 1:8-9 — In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who obey not gospel. To you sinners, unbelievers, same word: God’s judgment is upon you. Rom 6:23 — Wages of sin is death. Repent. Go spiritual rebirth — John 3:3 — Must be born again — obey gospel and live. Because failure to do so — life in sin is death. Ezek 18:23 — I have no pleasure in death of wicked, but that he turn and live. If you repent, obey — His blood cleanses all sin and you live — Acts 2:38 — Repent and be baptized and you shall receive gift of Holy Spirit. But in refusal — perish in sin by judgment of destruction — Rev 20:15 — Whosoever not found written in book of life was cast into lake of fire. ALTER CALL: Two edges set before you today -- as set before me. 1). choose Green 7 vision and Red 7 vision. First edge: repent, be washed, be set apart, be sealed among 144000. Or choose Red 7 vision, Second edge: Refuse, and perish -- tower of babel, was judgement of correction, rev9, rev16, Deut 30:19-- l have set before you life and death-- therefore choose life. Repent, obey word, pursue clean life by word+ prayer, be clean before God in name of lamb who stands on mt. Zion with 144000. Amen 🙏

Jesus enters the garden knowing exactly what awaits Him. He knows betrayal is coming. He knows arrest is coming. He knows suffering is coming. He knows Calvary is before Him. Yet Jesus does not run. He does not hide. He does not surrender His mission. He willingly stands firm because He came to accomplish the Father's will. ✝️❤️‍🔥 🔥 THREE TRUTHS FROM JOHN 18 1️⃣ JESUS WAS NOT A VICTIM—HE WILLINGLY GAVE HIMSELF. ✝️ When the soldiers came to arrest Jesus, He asked them whom they sought. When they answered, Jesus said: «“I am he.” — John 18:5» They went backward and fell to the ground. This moment reminds us that Jesus was not powerless. He could have escaped. He could have called for heavenly help. But He chose to remain. Why? Because He was committed to the Cross. His arrest was part of God's redemptive plan. Calvary was not an accident. Jesus willingly laid down His life for us. ❤️‍🔥 2️⃣ JESUS' KINGDOM IS GREATER THAN THIS WORLD. 👑 Pilate questioned Jesus about His kingship. Jesus answered: «“My kingdom is not of this world.” — John 18:36» The kingdoms of this world are temporary. Positions change. Money disappears. Human power fades. Fame does not last forever. But the Kingdom of Christ is eternal. Therefore, do not build your entire life around things that cannot last. Build your life around Christ. Seek His Kingdom. Obey His Word. Live for eternal things. Jesus is King—not only over heaven, but Lord over our hearts. 👑✝️ 3️⃣ WE MUST STAND FOR TRUTH. 📖🔥 Jesus said: «“Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” — John 18:37» Pilate responded: «“What is truth?” — John 18:38» The world continues to ask that question. But for the believer, truth is not merely an idea. Truth is found in Christ and revealed through God's Word. In a world filled with compromise, confusion and changing opinions, followers of Jesus must remain anchored in truth. Do not compromise your faith because of pressure. Do not deny Christ to gain acceptance. Do not exchange holiness for popularity. Stand for Jesus, even when standing is costly. 🔥 🌿 TODAY'S REFLECTION Jesus knew the Cross was ahead, yet He remained faithful. What about you? Will you remain faithful when obedience becomes difficult? Will you stand for Christ when people disagree with you? Will you choose holiness when temptation is strong? Will you choose truth when compromise seems easier? Jesus stood firm for you. He endured rejection for you. He accepted suffering for you. He walked toward Calvary for you. Therefore, stand firm for Him. Your faith may be tested. Your obedience may cost you something. People may misunderstand you. But remember: You are serving an eternal King. 👑 Do not allow temporary pressure to make you abandon eternal truth. 🙏🏽 PRAYER Heavenly Father, Thank You for Jesus Christ, our King and Saviour. Thank You that He willingly stood firm and went toward the Cross for our salvation. Lord Jesus, give me the grace to remain faithful when my faith is tested. Help me not to compromise Your truth for acceptance, popularity, comfort or worldly gain. Give me courage to stand for righteousness. When I am afraid, strengthen me. When I am pressured, remind me of Your example. When temptation comes, help me remember the price You paid for me. Let my life demonstrate that Jesus Christ is truly Lord and King over my life. 📌 Today's Readings are from the Book of 2 Kings 21–22 | Galatians 6 📌 👇 Overviews Are Below (PLEASE READ YOUR BIBLE: Overviews Do Not Replace Daily Reading) 👇 2 Kings 21 The Depth of Sin and the Patience of God 2 Kings 21 records one of the darkest chapters in Judah's history through the reign of King Manasseh. Unlike his father Hezekiah, who led the nation in spiritual reform, Manasseh reverses nearly every godly change that had been made. He rebuilds the high places, promotes idol worship, practices occult activities, and even places pagan altars within the temple itself. Judah sinks into spiritual corruption unlike anything seen before. The tragedy of Manasseh's reign is not simply that he sins personally, but that he leads an entire nation into greater rebellion. Leadership always carries influence. The king's decisions shape the spiritual direction of the people, and under Manasseh the nation becomes more corrupt than the pagan nations God had originally driven out of the land. Despite such widespread wickedness, God continues speaking through His prophets. He warns Judah repeatedly, calling the people to repentance before judgment comes. Yet the nation refuses to listen. God's patience is extraordinary, but His warnings are not ignored forever. The Lord announces that judgment upon Jerusalem has become inevitable because of persistent and deliberate rebellion. After Manasseh's death, his son Amon continues the same sinful pattern. Rather than learning from the consequences of his father's rebellion, he deepens the nation's decline. His reign is brief, ending through violence, further illustrating the instability that sin produces. Although this chapter emphasizes judgment, it also quietly reveals God's faithfulness. The covenant with David remains intact. Even in the midst of overwhelming darkness, God's redemptive plan continues moving toward the coming Messiah. Human sin cannot overturn divine promises. Theologically, 2 Kings 21 reveals both the seriousness of sin and the remarkable patience of God. Persistent rebellion hardens the heart and eventually brings judgment, yet God's repeated warnings demonstrate His desire that people would repent rather than perish. This chapter points to Christ, who came to bear the judgment that humanity deserved. Where Manasseh filled the land with sin, Jesus came to cleanse sinners through His sacrificial death. The darkness of human rebellion only magnifies the greatness of God's redeeming grace revealed in Christ. For believers today, 2 Kings 21 reminds us never to underestimate the influence of our choices. Sin tolerated today often becomes greater compromise tomorrow. Yet it also reminds us that God's patience is an invitation to repentance. In Christ, forgiveness is available for every repentant heart, and His grace is greater than even the darkest chapters of our lives. 2 Kings 22 Rediscovering God's Word 2 Kings 22 introduces the reign of Josiah, one of Judah's most faithful kings. Coming to the throne as a young boy after generations of spiritual decline, Josiah demonstrates that age does not limit God's ability to use someone who seeks Him wholeheartedly. From the beginning of his reign, he desires to honor the Lord and restore proper worship. As repairs begin on the temple, an extraordinary discovery is made. The Book of the Law is found after having been neglected for many years. The fact that God's Word had been lost within God's own house reveals how far the nation had drifted. Religious activity had continued, but the authority of Scripture had been forgotten. When the book is read to Josiah, his response is immediate and profound. Rather than defending himself or ignoring what he hears, he humbles himself before the Lord. He tears his clothes in grief, recognizing that the nation has failed to obey God's covenant. His heart is broken not merely because judgment has been announced, but because God's people have wandered so far from His truth. Josiah seeks the Lord through the prophetess Huldah, who confirms that God's judgment upon Judah will indeed come because of generations of rebellion. Yet because Josiah humbled himself and responded with genuine repentance, God promises that the coming judgment will not occur during his lifetime. The king experiences God's mercy because he responds to God's Word with humility rather than resistance. The chapter demonstrates that true revival always begins with the rediscovery of God's Word. Spiritual renewal is not produced by emotion or tradition alone but by humble submission to the truth God has revealed. Theologically, 2 Kings 22 teaches that God's Word possesses the power to expose sin, awaken repentance, and lead people back to faithful obedience. It also reveals that God honors humble hearts. While His justice remains certain, His mercy is extended to those who genuinely repent. This chapter points directly to Christ, the living Word of God. Just as the rediscovered Book of the Law brought conviction and renewal, Jesus brings truth, exposes sin, and offers forgiveness to all who come to Him in repentance and faith. He fulfills the Law completely and invites believers into a restored relationship with the Father. For believers today, 2 Kings 22 reminds us that spiritual renewal always begins with God's Word. It is possible to maintain religious routines while neglecting the authority of Scripture. In Christ, we are called to approach God's Word with humility, allowing it to shape our hearts, expose areas needing repentance, and lead us into deeper obedience. When God's people return to His truth, genuine revival begins. Galatians 6 — Living Out the Freedom of the Christ Galatians chapter 6 concludes Paul's letter by showing what life looks like when believers truly understand the gospel of grace. After teaching that salvation is by faith and that believers are called to walk by the Spirit, Paul now demonstrates how these truths are lived out in daily relationships and faithful service. The redemptive plan of the Christ, the Son of God, produces a life marked by humility, compassion, perseverance, and a continual focus on the cross. The chapter begins by instructing believers to restore those who have fallen into sin with gentleness and humility. The goal is never condemnation but restoration. This reflects the heart of the Christ, who came to seek and restore the broken. Christian living requires believers to care for one another while remaining aware of their own need for God's grace. The Son of God calls His people to be instruments of healing rather than harsh judgment. Paul then encourages believers to bear one another's burdens. This command reflects the love of the Christ, who carried the greatest burden of all through His sacrifice on the cross. The redemptive plan creates a community where believers support, encourage, and strengthen one another through life's difficulties. Christian living is never isolated or self-centered but is lived within the fellowship of God's family. At the same time, Paul reminds believers that each person is responsible for faithfully carrying the responsibilities God has entrusted to them. These two truths complement one another. Believers are called both to help others with overwhelming burdens and to faithfully fulfill their own daily responsibilities before the Lord. The Son of God calls His followers to lives of personal faithfulness combined with compassionate service. The chapter introduces the principle of sowing and reaping. Every decision and every action produces consequences. Those who continually invest in sinful desires reap spiritual destruction, while those who continually invest in the things of the Spirit reap eternal blessings. This is not a teaching of salvation by works but a reminder that Christian living produces visible fruit. The redemptive plan transforms believers so that their lives increasingly reflect the character of the Christ. Paul encourages believers not to grow weary in doing good. Faithful obedience often requires perseverance because the harvest is not always immediate. The Son of God calls His people to continue serving faithfully, trusting that God will bring fruit in His perfect timing. Christian living requires patience, endurance, and confidence that every act of obedience matters within God's eternal purposes. Another important emphasis is doing good to everyone, especially to fellow believers. The love of the Christ is never limited to words alone but expresses itself through practical acts of kindness, generosity, and service. The redemptive plan changes the priorities of God's people, leading them to seek opportunities to bless others as they have first been blessed by the Son of God. As Paul concludes the letter, he once again contrasts those who boast in religious performance with those who boast only in the cross of the Christ. The false teachers sought recognition through outward religious achievements, but Paul points entirely to the cross. Everything necessary for salvation has been accomplished through the Son of God. Christian living begins and ends with gratitude for His finished work rather than confidence in personal accomplishment. The chapter closes by declaring that what truly matters is the new creation brought about through the Christ. Outward religious distinctions cannot produce spiritual life. Only the redemptive plan accomplished by the Son of God can transform the human heart. Those who belong to Him have become new creations, and their lives now reflect His grace rather than their own efforts. Throughout Galatians chapter 6, the Christ remains the center of the believer's life. His cross provides salvation, His Spirit produces transformation, and His grace empowers faithful service. The redemptive plan creates a people who love one another, persevere in doing good, and live for His glory alone. For believers today, this chapter reminds us that true Christian living is the practical outworking of the gospel. We are called to restore the fallen with gentleness, carry one another's burdens, faithfully fulfill our own responsibilities, and never grow weary in serving the Lord. Martin (1878) penned down this song relevant to the topic of discussion. "In the warfare that is raging For the truth and for the right, When the conflict, fierce, is raging With the powers of the night, God needs people brave and true: May He then depend on you? Refrain: May the Lord depend on you? Loyalty is but His due; Say, O spirit, brave and true, That He may depend on you". God's covenants to Israel were majorly earthly and therefore, their warfares to possess their promises were physical. For the New Testament, the covenant is mostly spiritual and heavenly and therefore the warfares of the New Testament saints are spiritual. *"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."* (2 Corinthians 10:4). Lessons on Old Testament physical warfares are meant to teach the New Testament saints some important features of spiritual warfare which is a major part of successful and victorious Christian living. Joshua and Israel faced formidable kings, fortified cities and numerous enemies, yet God gave them victory. Their exploits demonstrated that conquering faith rested on obedience to God's authority and instructions with perseverance until the battle was completely won. When faith is anchored in God, no enemy can ultimately withstand His purpose for His people. *1. Determined Destruction Accomplished* a. God had concluded from the time of Abraham that the Amorites would be obliterated when their iniquities reached the peak when God could no more tolerate them (Genesis 15:15,16; Exodus 34:11-13). The time now came to start possessing the land as promised, but they must fight for it, for it would not come on a platter of gold. All the promises of God have been paid for by the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. However, the adversary is always there to contest against those blessings and believers must be ready to contend and possess it as God has given us assurance of victory as legitimate owners of the blessings. Our Lord Himself said, *"the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force"* (Matthew 11:12). The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 were commended for their violence of faith, courage and determination as they fought spiritual warfares. The violence of believers is spiritual and had to do with violence and force of faith. Nobody will be able to possess his possessions here on earth and enter heaven eventually if he does not learn to be brave and violent in spiritual warfare against the flesh, fiends, faithlessness, fear and foolishness. b. Joshua did not leave unfinished what God had commanded him to accomplish. Hazor, the head of the northern kingdoms, was captured and destroyed and its king was put to death. The destruction was decisive because Joshua understood that partial obedience could jeopardize the victory God had promised. Conquering faith is determined faith—it does not retreat because the opposition is strong or the assignment is difficult. What God commands must be pursued with courage and perseverance. Joshua, with courageous faith, moved along the will and Word of God and destroyed those that God had condemned to destruction because they refused to repent. *Question* Are there areas of your life where God expects you to exercise determined faith and completely overcome persistent opposition? *2. Done According to the Divine Authority* a. The destruction of the Canaanites by Joshua in the text took about 7 years though it was recorded as if they all happened in rapidity. God had told them that they would conquer the land *"little by little"*. (Exodus 23:30, Deuteronomy 7:22). You don't expect those formidable enemies to be overcome without giving a strong fight and resistance. Spiritual wars, like the physical wars are at times protracted. In order to overcome the adversary, there is a need to maintain a persistent and untiring warfare disposition and attitude for Satan and his agents will not give up without a strong and persistent resistance. So, fight manfully onward and never give up but persist until you laugh last. God has destined and programmed you for total victory. The "little by little" approach also gave the Canaanites the opportunity to repent and seek for mercy like Rahab and her household and the Gibeonites did. Joshua acted according to the command of the LORD. Those who perished must have been adamant because it had been settled that Israel would destroy all of them just like Rahab confessed (Joshua 2:9-11). All those who perished perished because they chose to and not for lack of opportunity to repent. Rahab and her household, the Giebeonites and the Shechemites decided not to perish and they did not because they did the needful. Those people refused to repent, their hearts were hardened through rejection of mercy. This hardening of men’s hearts is when God gives man up to his sin after the person refused the mercy of God (Romans 1:24-28). b. How could Joshua have overcome? Israel was not trained in the art of warfare at the time. Second, Israel did not have horses and chariots to fight, whereas the Canaanites had in abundance. Yet, God told them that it was a battle of faith and therefore, they should not fear the better equipped and stronger adversaries. *"And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire"*. It was like the case of little David versus the giant Goliath. Spiritual battles, while doing the needful, do not look at the size and the arrogance of the adversaries. With faith in God, their horses and chariots will be defeated. *"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God"* (Psalm 20:7). Can you imagine a poorly trained and inexperienced army of Israel defeating better trained coalition of nations in their multitudes with their horses and chariots? Obeying God's Word and instruction is always a guarantee of victory regardless of the might and the arsenal of the adversaries. Joshua did not depend on personal wisdom or military strength; he carried out God's instructions. Verse 15 emphasizes that Joshua did everything the LORD commanded Moses, and Moses had commanded Joshua. True exploits are accomplished under divine authority. Faith becomes powerful when it is joined with obedience. The victory was not merely Joshua's achievement; it was God's purpose being fulfilled through a yielded servant. We too must learn to follow God's Word even when His instructions challenge our natural reasoning. *Question* Are your decisions and actions being governed by God's Word and divine authority? *3. The Defeat of the Dreaded Adversaries* The Anakims were the most dreaded adversaries of Israel while they were in the wilderness. In fact, the spies (10 of them) sent said they were like grasshoppers compared to the Anakims (Numbers 13:27-33). It was the fear of those people that made Israel to be punished in the wilderness with 40 years of wandering and deaths. God delayed this fight to be their last fight so that Israel would have, from experience, learnt the art of warfare. They did not know that God had His own strategy of training them to be fit for the warfare against those terrorizing adversaries. When God gives a promise, don't look at your weakness and be asking how possible. God has His own plan to make you fit enough to deal with the enemy before He Himself takes over. "The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow" and victory is certain. b. The promise of Deuteronomy 9:1–3, which specifically predicts the defeat of the fearsome Anakites, is fulfilled(Joshua 11:21–23). Those who once appeared invincible were overcome by the power of God. Joshua's victory teaches us that yesterday's giants need not determine today's destiny. Through conquering faith, intimidating obstacles can become testimonies of God's faithfulness. Finally, the land had rest from war. True Worship Belongs to God Alone Scripture Judges 17:6 (NKJV) In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. When Everyone Does What Is Right in Their Own Eyes Judges 17 marks a shift in the book of Judges. Instead of focusing on Israel's battles with foreign enemies, the chapter reveals the spiritual decline taking place within the nation itself. The greatest danger was no longer outside Israel but inside the hearts of God's people. The chapter begins with Micah returning stolen silver to his mother. Although he admitted his wrongdoing, the family's response did not lead to true repentance or obedience to God's Word. Instead, they used part of the silver to make a carved image and a molded image for worship. They mixed the name of the LORD with practices that God had clearly forbidden. Micah then established his own private shrine, made household idols, and even appointed his own priest. Later, when a wandering Levite arrived, Micah hired him to serve in his personal religious system. Micah believed that because he now had a Levite serving him, God would surely bless him. The tragedy of this chapter is that the people were religious but not obedient. They wanted God's blessing without submitting to God's commands. They created a form of worship based on personal preference rather than God's revealed truth. Judges 17 concludes with the sobering statement that there was no king in Israel, and everyone did what was right in his own eyes. The issue was not merely political leadership but spiritual authority. The people rejected God's rule and replaced it with their own opinions and desires. This same temptation exists today. Our culture often teaches that truth is personal and that everyone should determine what is right for themselves. Yet God's Word remains the unchanging standard for faith and life. Genuine worship is not built upon feelings, traditions, or personal preferences but upon humble obedience to the Lord. God desires hearts that submit to Him completely. True worship is demonstrated not only by what we say but by how faithfully we obey His Word. Reflection Questions 1. Am I following God's Word or simply doing what seems right in my own eyes? 2. Are there areas where I have substituted personal preferences for biblical obedience? 3. Is my worship shaped by Scripture or by culture and convenience? Prayer Heavenly Father, help me to honor You according to Your Word rather than according to my own ideas. Guard my heart from compromise and from creating a faith that fits my preferences instead of Your truth. Teach me to walk in humble obedience and to worship You in spirit and in truth.
