• Morning friends. How many sunrises have you driven past this year without once saying thank You? When’s the last time you let yourself feel happy on purpose? How many of us have spent our lives searching for joy and asking God, “What do You want me to do?” That’s a good prayer, but Psalm 37:4 doesn’t say work for joy. It says delight in the Lord. Two different postures. Two different lives. You didn’t miss joy. You walked right through it. The sunrise on your way to work. Your wife’s laugh after thirty years. Your grandson’s voice on the phone. You called it a Tuesday. Heaven called it a gift. God isn’t hiding joy from you, making you hunt for it like a lost wallet. He’s scattering it in front of you every single day, waiting for you to notice. So here’s my invitation to you…Stop sprinting past the sacred. Today, add a line to your prayer, “Lord, what do You want me to delight in today?” You don’t find joy. You catch it. Catch the joy you keep walking past. Notice it. Name it. Thank Him for it. Your ordinary Tuesday is somebody’s answered prayer. Heaven is not stingy with joy. It’s been generous with you your whole life. Today, just receive it. So tonight, go home and watch your wife laugh that laugh you’ve heard ten thousand times like it’s the first time. Go home and watch your grandson run like it’s a miracle. Because it is. Joy is not lost, it’s just been waiting for you to notice. Y’all have a blessed day. Love ya. Pappy Flynn

    The Power of Prayer.

    By Tatiana Miranyuk

    March 19th, 2026

Growing up in Russia, my father worked on a collective farm while my mom took care of nine children. She believed in God, read the Bible, and was very calm, quiet, and kind. But for some reason, she never taught us about Him.

However, I was fascinated with God, and when I was nine, I began walking to the nearest Orthodox church, over four miles away because I loved to listen to the choir. As I noticed the changing seasons, the sunrises, and sunsets, I couldn't believe Darwin's theory of evolution. Instead, I longed to learn more about my Creator.

My mother got cancer when I was 13 and was bedridden for two years. Since I was the oldest child at home, I did all the housework and looked after her. But when she died, my father remarried, and I had to learn to get along with an angry stepmother.

I graduated from college in the city of Gorky (now called Nizhny Novgorod) and began working as a children's massage therapist. I got married, and a few years later, we had a daughter. A few years later, I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a malignant disease of the thymus gland. My eyesight and health deteriorated, and I had constant bouts of dizziness and muscle weakness. I began to faint almost every day, and since I knew this disease couldn't be cured through medicine, I turned to God for help.

At the time, the Soviet government was working to restructure its economic and political policies, and many philosophical and spiritual books appeared. I read them, took psychic courses, and explored the teachings of various spiritualists. Still, I never found peace of mind because most of their theories were illogical, incomplete, or just plain incomprehensible.

Finally, in 1992, I began attending Pastor John Carter's evangelistic meetings in Nizhny Novgorod, and after the fourth day, I realized I'd found my new church! I studied the Bible with other believers and was delighted to sing in the church choir!

As my health got worse, I'd begun working part-time and then quit working altogether. I was preparing for death and decided to surrender my fading life into God's hands. Placing my hope in Him, I read my Bible and waited to see if He would heal me. Once, while praying, God spoke to me, saying, You should go to a prayer meeting. I went, and although I was weak, I did not pray for myself but for others who might be worse off. To my surprise, I received physical and spiritual strength, myself! At the most difficult moment in my life, I trusted God and was not disappointed.

Before all this, my husband and I were getting by on very meager means. We lived with his parents, ate poor food, and our relationship suffered. Everything had collapsed before my eyes—my body, my marriage, my life. But I believed God would help me, and when I began praying for others, everything changed. The Lord continues to give me strength, and now I feel like a completely healthy person! My husband got a job in construction, and out of gratitude, we began to thank God and even donate money for His work. Today, my husband is the CEO of his firm, we bought a car, and we're building a two-story cottage outside the city. Our family relationships have improved, and my husband believes in God and sometimes comes to church with me. Our daughter sings in the church choir and is preparing for baptism, too!

God asks, "Is there anything difficult for Me?" and then answers that question through the lives of every true believer. Today, I'm the leader of our church prayer department, and it's become my life's work. Prayer fills my heart with strength each day, and I'm convinced that many Christians suffer from a lack of prayer.

My prayer for you, dear friend, is that you communicate with God so He can fill your life with light, and peace, and hope!

  • Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Have you ever noticed how quickly fall gets here? Like, one day you wake up to the sunlight is rising at 6:30; then the next day you are rising at 7:30 and the sun has not even crested anywhere. I don’t seem to notice as much in the Spring…the spring sunrise just seems to creep up on me, but this fall one … boy howdy … one day you got dawn’s early light and the next you wonder if it is still oh dark thirty. Am I the only one who feels like this?

This morning I woke up around 5 am the first time. It was still quite dark, as it should be. I did my emergent deed and decided that I did not need to be up any longer. I woke up two hours later, and it was still just as dark. I was like, ‘did I not fall back asleep’…I checked my phone clock and sure enough…it was after 7 … however, it was still very much dark outside my windows. I sit up and say my morning prayers and instantly and instinctively roll my eyes. Why? Because in my mind, it should be brighter outside. After all, it is after 7 am.

In a fleeting moment of frustration, I blamed daylight saving time. Instantly remembering the spring and summer nights that caused me to buy blackout curtains so that I could go to bed at a decent hour. However, then I was thinking … dangerous I know … we are about to ‘fall back’, which means that sunrise will be even later. Bedtime will feel like 6 pm instead of 8 or 9 pm.

While my coffee was doing its thing, my mind began to summarize life. How simple and uncomplicated it can be right this minute and within a blink of an eye … uncertainty and chaos appear. How one minute you are fully engulfed in tending to daily chores and the next you are off to the hospital because of an accident. How you leave the doctor office with a solid bill of health, and you then you have a massive heart attack or stroke … thus dying.

Why is this so important to look at? Am I looking at darkness instead of the light? The answers are simple …

We are sitting here today because the rapture did not happen as predicted … again. Scripture states that we will not know the time or place of His return. Nor will we know the time or place of the end of our lease on life. Only God knows these answers. Why is this important? The answer to this question is actually a question. Are you sure that you are going to heaven?

See, had the rapture happened as these false prophets had predicted, I was not worried. I have lots to answer for … do not misunderstand … however, I am not worried in the least about where I will be cleaning toilets with a toothbrush … I am secure that I will be in climate-controlled heaven. But … there are those that I love dearly … that I am not so sure they understand the reality of eternity. The reality of quick life can end. The reality of needing to walk the narrow path to heaven. Hell is real. Hell is HELL. There will be no parties and never-ending fun…it will be torment and anguish. It will be harder than anything you have experienced here on earth, and it will be forever.

The question “If your God is a loving god, then he will let me into heaven because I am good person.”

My God is a loving god. So loving that he allows you to make your own choice. If you choose to not believe and follow him, then he will weep as you take the elevator to hell. Following Christ is not difficult in the sense that you have to do all these things … it is not difficult because when you take you out of the equation and place Him first … even the difficult becomes easy. When you stop worrying about what man thinks and what He thinks … your choices change. When you get off this hell treadmill of what you think is right for one person and realize that they will be held accountable when that time comes …you are not responsible for their choices … then peace is abounding.

Friends, just as quickly as the later sunrises are now in the fall, our lives will end and if you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, and follow his leading … then you will find yourself in the fiery pits of hell … not by God’s choice…but yours.

  • I grew up on Lake Huron as a child. Port Huron, MI.
    -
I love to swim in it. Our family were fond of boating, too, in my Dad's homemade steel cruiser!

Vickie and I are going back this year to Lake Huron, at Oscoda, MI, because the beaches there have soft, fine sand and no rocks as you walk in from the shore. Clean and generally clear water, especially as you get out deeper, which I do. I'm a snorkeler and I prefer the deep water -- like 10 or 20 feet will do it for me. We've vacationed in Oscoda many times in past years.
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    From Google A I:
    Q. What is the cleanest lake to swim in Michigan?
    A. Lake Huron.
Lake Huron, the second-largest of the Great Lakes, tops the list for its pristine turquoise waters, unparalleled shoreline sunrises, numerous lakeside parks, gorgeous beaches, and historic lighthouses.

What’s more, Lake Huron is home to 30,000 islands! Island hopping, anyone?
Stop by the tiny Dollar Island or escape to enchanted Mackinac Island. With its car-free streets, stunning wilderness covering most of the island, and delicious fudge, it’s a no-brainer vacation spot. No wonder Forbes magazine called it a “secret celebrity hideaway.”
