• The Holy Spirit doesn't convict believers of sin. That's churchianity teaching, but it isn't in the Bible.

The Spirit convicts the unbelievers of sin -- not the believers. There is no condemnation for those in Christ -- not in the least bit.

    Romans 8:1 NASB
“Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Speaking of the Holy Spirit Jesus said in John 16:8, “And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment:”

But look at the next verse.

    John 16:9 NASB
“regarding sin, 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞;”

He convicts the 𝘂𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 of sin. He doesn’t convict believers of sin. The Holy Spirit convicts those who 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 in Jesus of their sin.

He convicts believers of their righteousness.

    John 16:10 NASB
    “and regarding righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me;

We know unbelievers are unrighteous, but believers have the righteousness of God in Christ.

    2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB
“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗱 in Him.”

We believers are in Christ, and we have the righteousness of God. There can be no better righteousness than that! When we sin, we believers are convicted by our own conscience — not the Holy Spirit.

    1 John 3:19-20 NASB
We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will set our heart at ease before Him, [20] that if 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝘀 𝘂𝘀, that God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things.

The Holy Spirit doesn't convict the believer of sin. If you feel conviction of sin as a believer, it is your own conscience doing that.

    Titus 3:11 NASB
knowing that such a person has deviated from what is right and is sinning, being 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝗲𝗱.

    2 Corinthians 1:12 NASB
For our proud confidence is this: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.

    1 Timothy 1:5 NASB
But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, and from a sincere faith.

    2 Timothy 1:3 NASB
I thank God, whom I serve 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day,

For a believer, the Holy Spirit is called the comforter - not the convictor. There is no comfort in conviction. There is only condemnation, and we know there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.
