- “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the GLORY that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18, NASB)
REFLECTION:
How have I been suffering for JESUS lately?
How have I dealt with these sufferings and challenges?
In what ways can I “look forward to glory” so that I can better respond to and endure these sufferings and challenges?
ACTION POINT:
The Christian journey is not easy, as it comes with challenges, trials, and even persecution. But Paul reminds us in Romans 8:18–27 that, in order to endure and keep going, we must remember that our present suffering is temporary and that we can look forward to the future glory that God has promised.
This hope of eternal salvation comes from our sovereign God, who is faithful to keep His promises. Therefore, I can joyfully anticipate the hope of eternity, knowing that this world is not my final home.
Whatever I may be going through, I will find the strength and motivation to endure and keep fighting the good fight. My hardships in this world are temporary, but the eternal glory that awaits me is far greater than anything I could experience here.
Rather than focusing only on the here and now, I will focus on what is to come. I will trust God's promises, remain faithful through every trial, and persevere with hope.
I WILL KEEP GOING, KEEP FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT, AND LOOK FORWARD TO GLORY!“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the GLORY that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18, NASB) REFLECTION: How have I been suffering for JESUS lately?
