  • You know those days where you’re just about ready to tap out, close the laptop, and find literally anything else to do with your time? I was right there. But then, I got a notification that changed everything.

I’ve had this email account for a year, and today—for the very first time—I got a message from a listener sharing how this podcast has actually helped them.

This is exactly why this podcast was started.

I knew there were others out there who felt like mainline biblical counseling didn't quite fit. We knew we could bridge the gap—to find a way to honor the Scriptures without being one-dimensional in our approach to psychology and counseling. It is demonstrating that we do not have to choose between solid biblicism and a real, nuanced understanding of mental health.
Grateful for the reminder to keep going.

  • I have been out of commission for a minute. A new move, constant illness within the family, and other responsibilities have prevented me from uploading new episodes.

Most of these have been taken care of.

New episodes of the Re(Nyoo)ed Mind Podcast will commence tomorrow.

  • Pro Tip: A theological word need not appear in the Bible to be biblical. A concept or doctrine can be taught irrespective of the terms we adopt and use.

    Biblical theology > terminology

Case in point. See the exchange below.

    Just another Renyooed thought

  • This post is unfortunate. Despite having all these important responsibilities and activities, the last activity (her OF page) shows that she lacks one thing... a proper biblical perspective on identity.

She believes that her profitable and necessary work as a mother, a churchgoer, and a ministry serving those in need justifies having an OF page.

If this woman knew who she was in the sight of God and how grace had impacted her life, she would be motivated to pursue the first four things and avoid the last. Her ministry, church attendance, and even her motherhood do not define who she truly is in the sight of God. Her OF page also works against who she is in God's sight.

She is a Christian, a believer first-this is her true identity.
This understanding ought to motivate her to do good works.
And avoid things that don't align with who she is.
