  • Are You Still Not Sure If God Has Called You?

One question that troubles many Christians is, "What is God's purpose for my life? Has He really called me?" Perhaps you have asked yourself the same question—I know I did.

When I first responded to the gospel, I believed God had called me. But as time went on, trials, doubts, and personal weaknesses led me to wonder if I had been mistaken. Because I doubted myself, my service to the Lord became unstable. I found myself leaving and returning to ministry again and again. That was the pattern of my life after I came to Christ.

But as I studied the Scriptures, I realized that I had been looking for assurance in the wrong place. I was searching for certainty in my feelings and experiences, while God points us to His Word.

    Today, I can confidently say:

    Jesus has called me.

How can I be so sure?

Because the Bible clearly teaches that God calls people through the gospel. Paul wrote:

«"He called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."
    —2 Thessalonians 2:14»

When the gospel is preached, Christ Himself is calling people to come to Him. That is why Jesus said:

«"Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
    —Matthew 11:28»

    He also said:

    «"Follow Me."
    —Mark 1:17»

This call is not limited to a select few. It is extended to everyone who hears the gospel. The real question is not, "Has Jesus called me?" but "Will I respond to His call?"

Many times, the greatest obstacle to assurance is not God—it is our own doubt. You may think that it is only another person inviting you to follow Christ. But in reality, Christians are simply God's servants, proclaiming His message. They are not the source of the call. Jesus is. Through the gospel, He invites you to believe and follow Him.

    As Paul reminds us:

«"Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."
    —Romans 10:17»

So stop looking for reasons to believe that God has not called you. And do not depend on feelings, signs, or extraordinary experiences to prove that He has. The foundation of your assurance is not your emotions—it is the Word of God.

If you have heard the gospel of Christ, then Christ is calling you. Your response should be what He asks of every disciple: repent of your sins, believe in Him, confess Him as Lord, be baptized according to His command for the forgiveness of sins, and continue faithfully as His disciple (Mark 16:15–16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4; Matthew 28:19–20).

If you have heard the gospel, do not harden your heart. Respond to Christ's call with faith and obedient discipleship, for His call is real, and His promises are sure.

  • Biblical faith is not a blind leap into the dark. It is trust in the truth God has revealed in His Word concerning Jesus Christ. Genuine faith is proven by faithful obedience to Christ—even if it costs us our lives.

    1. The Basis of Faith
Faith comes from hearing the Word of God concerning Christ (Romans 10:17). It is not irrational belief but a reasoned trust grounded in God's revealed truth. John wrote the signs of Jesus so that people might believe that Jesus is the Christ and have life in His name (John 20:30–31).

    2. The Evidence of Genuine Faith
Genuine faith does not remain mere profession. It is revealed through faithful obedience to Christ (James 2:17–26), daily taking up the cross and following Him (Luke 9:23–24), and remaining faithful even in the face of suffering or death (Revelation 2:10; Revelation 12:11).

    In summary:
Genuine faith is trust in the truth of Christ, demonstrated through faithful obedience—even unto death.

    Scripture: Romans 10:17; John 20:30–31; James 2:17–26; Luke 9:23–24; Matthew 10:37–39; Philippians 1:21; Revelation 2:10; Revelation 12:11.

but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
    Answer us when we call!

  • One of the biggest fears in sharing the gospel is wondering how people will respond.

    What if they reject me?
What if they laugh at me?
What if they are not interested?

These fears are real. But remember this:

God has not called us to produce conversions—He has called us to faithfully proclaim the gospel.

Our responsibility is to sow the seed of God's Word (Luke 8:11), speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), and point people to Jesus Christ.

The response belongs to each hearer, and the increase belongs to God.

«"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth."
    — 1 Corinthians 3:6»

Not everyone will receive the message immediately. Jesus Himself taught that people respond differently to the seed of the Word (Luke 8:4–15).

Some hearts are receptive. Others need time. Some may reject the message today and receive it later.

That is why every faithful conversation, every invitation, and every testimony matters.

Never underestimate what God can do through His Word faithfully shared.

So don't let fear keep you silent.

Share the gospel with love. Speak God's truth faithfully. Trust God for the increase.

In God's kingdom, faithfulness is not measured by visible results but by obedient service to Christ.

Keep planting. Keep watering. Keep trusting God.

  • Your mission ends where Christ's mission begins.

As long as your life is about your own dreams, your own glory, or your own agenda, you cannot fully follow Jesus.

When you deny yourself and follow Christ, His mission becomes your mission—to make disciples for the glory of God.

"If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me." — Luke 9:23

  • Ang Pagsubok sa Pananampalataya
    By: Bro. Mark Jun

  • When God uses someone to speak a word that awakens your heart and leads you back to His path, take time to thank that person. Their obedience may have been the instrument God used to change your life.

Great leaders do not live for themselves. They carry the burdens of others, seek the good of those they serve, and make sure their people are cared for before thinking of their own comfort. This kind of leadership reflects the servant-heart of Jesus.
