  • For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. - 2 Timothy 4:3-4

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven. - Hebrews 12:25

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. - John 3:19-20

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. - Galatians 5:19-21

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. - John 15:5-6

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire. - Hebrews 12:28-29

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. - Hebrews 12:14

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. - James 5:19-20

When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

    She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” - John 8:10-11

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. - 1 John 5:3

  • Daily Devotion — May 8 | Mark 8:25 (NKJV)

From Blurred Vision to Clear Sight

Mark chapter 8 records the healing of a blind man in Bethsaida. The people brought the man to Jesus and asked Him to touch him. Jesus led the man outside the village and began the process of healing.

At first, the man could see but his vision was not yet clear. He said that people looked like trees walking. Then Jesus placed His hands on the man’s eyes again, and his sight was fully restored. After that, he saw everything clearly.

This miracle is unique because it happened in stages. Instead of instant clarity, the healing unfolded step by step. This moment provides an important spiritual lesson about how God often works in the lives of believers.

Sometimes spiritual understanding develops gradually. A person may begin to see the truth of God, yet still struggle to fully understand His purposes. As we continue to follow Christ, spend time in His Word, and grow in faith, our spiritual vision becomes clearer.

Jesus did not leave the man with partial sight. He continued the work until the man could see clearly. In the same way, God continues working in the hearts of believers until His truth becomes fully understood.

For believers today this verse reminds us that spiritual growth is a process. Even when understanding feels incomplete, Jesus continues guiding us toward greater clarity and maturity in faith.

    Reflection Questions

    1. In what areas of my life is God helping me see more clearly

    2. Am I patient with the process of spiritual growth

    3. How can I continue seeking deeper understanding through God’s Word

    Prayer

Lord Jesus thank You for patiently guiding me as I grow in faith. Help me to trust the process of spiritual growth and to continue seeking Your truth. Open my eyes so that I may see Your work clearly and follow You faithfully. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    ● Spend time daily reading Scripture to strengthen spiritual understanding

    ● Be patient with the process of growth and learning in faith

    ● Ask God to reveal areas where greater clarity is needed

    Takeaway Thought

Jesus continues His work in us until our spiritual vision becomes clear.
