  • This is why it is said that a man once took time to make a list of everything he'd want God to do and numbered it. When it was prayer time, he'd go over the wall and point at a number "God, number 72 and 98 and 24" and then he'd walk out believing that God knows the numbers and he'd figure out the prayer point written there.

Truly, we do not know what to pray as we ought to, sometimes, as we are about to rise from the place of prayer, we'd be like "yes! God I almost forget, concerning my aunty..."

This underscores the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives to help us pray. Do you have the Holy Spirit in your life?

  • All my heroes went to prison:
John the Baptist. Peter. Paul. Silas.James.
Not canceled, not shadow banned, not dragged in the comments.
    Imprisoned.
Paul wrote Scripture while chained to a wall. We hesitate to speak because someone might unfollow.
He preached Christ knowing it would cost him years of freedom. We worry about reputation. He lost his rights.
We worry about platform. He wrote from a cell.
    Ephesians.
    Philippians.
    Colossians.
    Philemon.
Letters we sip coffee over were written in confinement. Paul didn’t ask God to make life easier, He asked God to make him bold.
    “Remember my chains.”
Today we call inconvenience persecution. They called prison obedience.
The early Church didn’t grow because it was safe. It grew because it was surrendered.
All my heroes went to prison.
Lord, raise up a Church again
    that would rather risk everything
    than water down anything.

  • DO YOU AGREE WITH HIM? This is a Big Statement by Daddy Gbile Akanni

"EVERY ANGER IS A MANIFESTATION OF PRIDE"

You're not hearing me. You see, every time you are angry, can I tell you what you are saying? You don't want me to tell you what you are saying.

You are saying, why should they do such a thing to me? A person of my caliber, how can you do that to me? Do you know that every time you are angry, your hand is here? Your hand is beating your chest.

I will hear you say, after all that I have done for them, they don't even recognize somebody. I'm talking, you are talking. Who are you?

Sometime we are in church, you are in a church committee meeting, or you are in the choir practice.
Just because the choir master said we will not sing your song, what did you do? You got angry, and you took your handset and your bag, and you walked away and said, let's see how they will make it.

Why are you thinking like that? You are having an exaggerated sense of your importance. You are thinking that without your voice, the choir will not hold. That's why you are angry now.

  • BE REAL, IT IS YOUR FATHER

Some of you say, but I always try, but it will not work. He said, come. You don't have money.
    Buy without price. Come. Come.

Come and take milk. Come and take wine without price. Come.

Why will you be languishing when your father is saying, come?

So, I ask you to look at it personally, don't be religious about what I'm talking about.

Be real. It's your father that is calling you.

He who knows the future that he has for you, he say, come.

  • THIS IS MY CRY: Here am I Lord

Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call upon him while he is near. Let the sinners forsake their sins.
Whatever it was that kept that boy, the prodigal son, down there in the valley with the pigs, when he decided to come, Baba changed it for him. God changes people's story. God changes people's situation.
God renews and restores. And this afternoon, it is already getting to evening, I thought it would be right for us to rise in prayer. And I will be singing that my song again.
And you know the song. You will join me as we rise to pray. I'm trusting God tonight that you will hear his voice.

If you have heard his voice talking to you personally, calling you and saying, you are too far away from me, please hear him and respond.

I am thine, O Lord. I have heard thy voice.
And it told thy love to me. For I long to rise in the arms of faith.
And be closer drawn to thee.
    Draw me nearer.
Nearer blessed Lord, to the cross where thou has died
Draw me nearer. nearer blessed Lord, to thy precious bleeding Side.

Before we go ahead, before we go ahead, have you heard the voice of the Lord tonight? Have you heard the loving call? Have you heard the voice of him who passionately cares? And who paid all the price? Who settled all your debts? And who is aching, aching to have you? And is wondering, what are you doing? Spending money for that which is not food. Wasting your life where there is nothing. Getting entangled in the world that is passing away.

Wasting your youth in careless, uncoordinated living. Have you heard the loving call of the Savior? Have you heard him say, oh, everyone that has death, come here, come and drink. Have you heard God saying, you don't need money, come, I have provided for you.

So why we will be singing this song? If the organ can only just be the organ, no drum, I just want these brothers to flow with that song. They are themselves singing it for themselves. And they are stepping out to say, oh God.

I am thine, oh Lord. I have heard thy voice and it told thy love to me. But I long to rise in the depths of hell.
I'll be closer to thee. Draw me nearer. Lord, help us to open for you this afternoon.
Do something. Let a revival begin for us. Let a restoration begin.
Let a fire begin to ignite. Bleeding, son, bleeding. Do consult with any man.
Do consult with any sister. Please take your Bible. Take your handbag if you are a woman.
If you are a young lady. And if you are an elderly man. Just take a step and say, Lord, I have heard your voice.

and I'm just coming. And just as I am, without any polish, I know I don't have anything to pay for what you want to do. But I'm coming to you.

  • ACTIVITIES OF MR. FLESH ~ GBILE AKANNI

    SCRIPTURE READING: GALATIANS 5:19-21.

We want to look at God's provision for old life of flesh, is there a way out and if there is a way out how can we get at it.

We don't just want knowledge but the issue that God want you to do must go beyond just the knowledge, it must become an impartation, no man can do it for us except the Lord Himself help us.

Gal. 5:19-21, the Philip Modern Language explain this passage as thus : " The activities of a lower nature are obvious, here is a list: sexual immortality, impurity of mind, sensuality, worship of false god, witchcraft, hatred, strife, jealousy, bad temper, rivalry, factions, partying spirit, envy, drunkenness, all these things like that.
Verse 21- I solemnly assure you that those who do such things will not inherit God's kingdom "._

What bothers me most is the conclusion in verse 21, if the word is as it was put in this serves some of those things we said it is not matter is capable of denying one of God's kingdom.

What you will look at casually and said it's just a mistake might be a very critical matter that will jeopardize all our effort in the work of God. We want to look at what is God doing to liberate us from the dominion and the tyranny of flesh that is God's provision for our deliverance from the flesh.

The provision of the blood:- Immediately what happened in Genesis chapter 3 in the garden of Eden, God starts to look at what to do to redeem a man right from the beginning.
I want you to know that the heart of flesh cannot please God, it cannot serve God, in fact, anything flesh touches in the purpose of God is contaminated, anything that comes from the flesh cannot please God.
When man was trying to sown leaves to cover himself, God look far beyond, He slaughtered an animal to make skin, even this is not redemption.

In Genesis 3:22-24, God made a redemptive decision, God chased them away from the garden because He did not want to immortalise the flesh. From this passage God was saying though flesh took over, it must not live for ever, it means there is an end to Mr flesh.

There is an end God want us to experience to the works of flesh in our lives. Our priority is how God will bring flesh to an end in our lives. We don't want to suppress flesh, even though we suppress it for two or three years, the day it will wake up, it will still strike and spoil all you have done for years.
Imaging a man of God that has been keeping his lust for five years, checking himself not to allow lust, the day his lust rises, all the five years effort he had made is finished completely.

We are looking for a way out from God, if we say there is no way out, then our gospel is weak. If God is pointing to a man about what can send him to hell and He did not make a way of delivering him, so why is God saying it. Some of us may say nobody is free from this and you settled into it, I want to tell you that somebody can be freed, God had made provision for us to experience total deliverance.

Right in Genesis, God had instituted that there is going to be a way out when He drove the man from the garden of Eden not to take the tree of life and immortalise himself, God was saying He has not given up on man, I have a plan for him, am still going to use him in my ministry on earth.

From that chapter three all through the old testament, you will discover that the imagination of Mr flesh is continually evil and all efforts to help him no way, the flesh is actually untamed. If you notice how flesh operate, you will discover that so many things you do, you don't want to do it.

  • BEWARE OF PRIDE (PART 1) || PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

God told Elijah to anoint three people to replace him. This is because you can see pride in Elijah's response when he says, "And I, even I only, am left...". There is only one "I AM" and that is God Himself (Exodus 3:14). This is why, when Jesus Christ called Himself 'I AM' in John 8:58-59, the Jews were furious that He compared Himself to God. Of course, at that time, they did not know about John 1:1 and 14, which says Jesus is God who became flesh and dwelt amongst us. The name I AM must be reserved for God and God alone.

When you search the Scriptures, you would discover that the words 'I', 'me', 'my', 'mine' are the languages of pride. That was the language of Satan in Isaiah 14:12-15. When you find someone always saying 'I', 'my', you know you are most likely dealing with a proud fellow. Beware of this because the higher you go, the greater the risk of you saying 'I', 'my', 'me' all the time.

We see an example in the strong and anointed man of God called Samson. In Judges 15:14-16, where the power of God came upon him and he killed thousands of soldiers with a jaw bone, he said, "With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men”. There was no, "Thank You, Lord" to the One who sent down the power; it was all about himself. Even when God had clearly restored his strength in Judges 16:25-28, when the enemies had caught him and plucked out his eyes and he wanted to pray just one more prayer before dying, what did he say?

And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. (Judges 16:28)

It was about him all the way. That is why, as strong and anointed as he was, he fell so low that he ended up blind and grinding corn for his enemies before dying with them.

    NOTE THIS:
Beware of pride because it can make you fall so low that your enemies would begin to rejoice over you.

  • AGONY OF WASTED OPPORTUNITIES ~ Bro. Gbile Akanni

Looking at the life of Joshua, you will see the agony of years exhausted but unfinished task, the agony of an open heaven that was wasted.

God has given you an opportunity to do something in your generation, but it can be wasted or diverted such that God’s own result is not achieved. it is important for you to plead for grace not to waste your opportunity.

For Joshua, God gave him an uncontested, unlimited opportunity to do something for Him and to cause His will to be done.

God sent the hailstones and made the sun to stand still for him yet he did not maximise it, to the extent that at the later end of his life, God has to announced to him that he is old yet there are still very much land to posses.

You see, ignorant people may not know the length and breath of what God has called you to do but will be clapping and celebrating you based on their faulty and incomplete information. Your cry should be, oh God, don’t let it be that at my old age, when my useful years has finished you then begin to show me what I should have done that I didn’t do.

You may be doing something in God’s name but have you heard God’s verdict? The gift that God deposited in you, and the sword He kept in your hand, what have you accomplished with them?

This your celebration is over what?

Maybe you have wasted God’s open heaven.
If God gives you another open heaven, what will you do with it?

May what God has called you to do in your generation not die in your stomach.

Follow for more messages and teachings like this. #GbileAkanni #livingseed #Peacehouse #Gboko

  • THE REASON MANY PRAYERS ARE NOT ANSWERED IS BECAUSE THOSE WHO ARE PRAYING ARE NOT DETERMINED.

THERE IS A DETERMINATION THAT A MAN WHO HASN'T GOT PLAN B PRAYS WITH, THAT IS THE PRAYER THAT GOD ANSWERS.

IF YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING FOR GOD AND SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE ARE CRITICIZING YOU, IGNORE THEM. DON'T WASTE TIME REPLYING THOSE WHO ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

THERE ARE OCCASIONS WHERE THREE CAN BE A CROWD. WHEN IT COMES TO DISCUSSING SOME SERIOUS ISSUES WITH GOD YOU NEED TO BE ABSOLUTELY ALONE WITH HIM.

    - Pastor E.A. Adeboye

    Let us pray

Ancient of days we worship you, our Saviour, our Redeemer, our Protector, our all in all. We worship you, may your name forever be glorified. Father today as your children listen to your word glorify your name, let the power in your word do something in their lives that will cause them to glorify your name in Jesus mighty name we pray have prayed. Praise the Lord.

We will continue in our series on Going Higher as we move to Part 39. Very reluctantly we have to move on to 1 Kings 18:42. We spent quite a lot of time in verse 41, we don't know how long we will be in verse 42.

    1 Kings 18:42

The first thing you find in this verse must be quite a surprise to you as it was to me when I started digging deep on this verse - Ahab went up to eat and drink. I don't have any interest in Ahab, I mean look at a man who has spent a whole day in the presence of the supernatural. Here is a king who has seen the raw manifestation of the power of God. Who had seen a man of God praying for about two minutes and fire fell and the next thing he wants to do is eat and drink. He couldn't even say "you said there is going to be a sound of abundance of rain, I think I will wait for the rain". He went to eat and to drink.

The first time I saw a man of God performing miracles, I mean raw manifestation of the power of God, I wasn't hungry for food. I was hungry for anointing. The first time I saw Billy Graham preach, I was in London and he preached a very simple sermon. The kind that any of my Sunday School teachers could preach and then he gave an altar call and I saw the crowd surging forward, I wasn't hungry for food. I was hungry for his anointing.. The first time I visited Yonngi Cho of blessed memory and I saw a man telling the congregation "those of you who have come to church this Sunday please don't come next Sunday so that those who could not come in this Sunday can come in next Sunday" in an auditorium that could sit more than fifty thousand people, holding multiple services on Sunday. I was not hungry for food, I was hungry for anointing. The elders have a saying that it is what you are hungry for that will be in your treasury. I don't think I want to spend much time with this man.

Why? Take this as my advice - don't spend time with those who are not going anywhere because in Amos 3:3 it says birds of the same feather flock together. They say show me your friend and I will tell you who you are. In Proverbs 13:20 says walk with the wise and you will be wise but if you are a companion of fools you are going to be destroyed. If you are going somewhere doing something for your God and some people who are not going anywhere are criticizing you, ignore them. Don't waste time with those who are not going anywhere.

Another big lesson to learn is that this man quickly went to eat and to drink. The easy way is always downhill. You want to go uphill, there must be self discipline. Jesus said in Matthew 7:14-15 that broad is the way that leads to destruction, many are they that find it and narrow is the way that goes to eternal life, few will find it. If you want to go higher, get ready for self discipline. Apostle Paul said I press on. Pressing on means you are overcoming resistance. Climbing takes effort. Well I don't want to spend too much time with Ahab, let me go to my friend Elijah.

The Bible says that he went up to the top of Mount Carmel, he was a mountain climber. Why did he go up? Because God can hear you anywhere. Do you have to climb the mountain to pray? The Bible says in Psalms 139:7-12 that God is everywhere. He can hear you from anywhere. In Genesis 18:1-14, Abraham was sitting in front of his tent and God spoke to him there. In 1 Kings 17:2-6, the Bible says God spoke to Elijah in the palace. In 1 Kings 17:8-17, God spoke to Elijah by the Brook side. God can speak to you in His house, In 1 Samuel 3:1-14 Samuel was on his bed in the house of God when God called Him, so you don't have to go to the mountain before God can hear you. However, mountain top surely has some advantages, no doubt about it.

In Exodus 17:8-13, when the Amalekites came to attack the children of Israel Moses went to the mountain top. There he raised up his hands while Joshua was fighting the Amalekites in the valley below. When Moses lifted his hand, the Israelites were winning but when he brought his hand down, the Amalekites began to win. That tells you something that the mountain top is closer to the anointing. When you want to put up a telephone mast, you look for a hill to place it there. If you raise your antenna on a mountaintop you are likely to make contact faster than the fellow who is in the valley below.. In 1 King 19:4-18 you also discover that when you are on a mountain top it is easier to hear the small still voice of God because over there it is quiet. Elijah had to travel 40 days and 40 nights to get to Horeb the Mount of the Lord because they were going to discuss some very sensitive issues there. In Psalms 46:10, the Bible says be still and know that I am God. Not everyone can climb to the mountaintop so there is plenty of stillness up there.

What I found very interesting here is that Elijah was already on Mount Carmel and yet he climbed higher because he wanted to be at the very top.

    • My prayer for everyone listening to me is that you will not just go high, you will go very high.

Why did he climb to the very top? I think it because he wanted to be absolutely alone with God. There are occasions where three can be a crowd. When it comes to be discussing some serious issues with God you need to be absolutely alone with Him. Jesus also went alone to the mountain to be with the Father. Best time I enjoy in any day is when I am alone with God praying. I long for those days where there were very few people in the camp ground and I could go very deep into the jungle, alone with God so we can discuss.

When your destiny is about to be changed permanently, you need to be alone with God. In Genesis 32:24-28, the Bible says Jacob was left alone when the angel came to wrestle with him. Wives? Gone, children? all gone including the favourite wife. When he was alone and he started praying with a visitor, the only visitor allowed when you want to be alone with God. He got his name changed and his destiny altered, a man became a nation. When the Almighty God wants to discuss the destiny of a nation, whoever will be the man that God will use has to be alone. In Exodus 3:1-15, when God wanted to discuss the deliverance of Egypt. Moses was alone not just in the desert, at the back side of the desert.. Away from everybody else. When your eyes are about to see what none has seen before you need to be alone with God. Exodus 33:18-23, Moses had prayed "Lord show me your glory" and God took him from where he was and went to hide him in the cleft of a rock so it will be you alone seeing what you are about to see. There are some men of God who have seen visions that they won't tell anybody. They won't tell even their closest friend.
    • I pray God will open your eyes too and show you glorious things.

When God wants to confirm to you beyond any doubt that you are special to Him, He will take you to the mountain top. If you find anybody else with you at that time, it was be that they are in the same club with you. Very, very special like in Matthew 17:1-9 Jesus Christ took aside Peter, James and John to the mountain and transfigured before them. There they saw Elijah, they saw Moses and they recognized them. Jesus told them not to tell anyone until he resurrect. There are things only very few people can see, there are things only very few people can hear. I am sure you know that the boardroom in your factory is a small room. Very few people get there yet tremendous decisions are taken there. There is the need to be alone with God. I hope you begin to practice that from now on - TIME ALONE WITH GOD.

Elijah did something very spectacular - 1. He threw himself down on earth. 2. He put his face in between his legs. Any lesson to learn from this? Probably when he threw himself on the bare floor he was saying to God "you are the most High". (Psalms 91:9, Ecclesiastes 5:8, Isaiah 66:1). Here I am at your footstool, I am throwing myself down at your footstool after all I am an ordinary dust. In Yoruba land at least, when you want to greet a king you throw yourself down. You lie prostrate and here Elijah was lying prostrate before the original majesty. I always feel uncomfortable when I see some people praising God or praying to God with one hand in their pocket. As if they are dealing with their equal whereas you are dealing with the one who can terminate your life at the snap of His finger. Or maybe when he threw himself to the dust, he was saying Almighty God, my times are in your hands, over to you now (Psalms 31:15). I surrender completely to you, I am on the floor now. From now on, you are in absolute command. In his throwing himself down in the presence of God a big lesson in humility. The higher you go, the more humble you must become. This is a man who has just called down fire from heaven, this is a man who should be walking with his swagger as a big man of God, great anointing but he was there on the floor.

    1 Peter 5:6, James 4:6

He said Lord I am down on the floor, I need to go high and it must be you who can lift me high.

Another fellow who I saw and like so much is Apostle Paul, he is a man that shows that the higher we go, the more humble we should be. This is for those of us who are going to be going higher. You know there was a time that Paul said "I was among the chiefest Apostles" (2 Corinthians 11:5). Later on as he began to come to his senses, he said "I am the least of all the apostles" (1 Corinthains 15:9) but later on he said "I am less than the least of saints" (Ephesians 3:8). I am not just an apostle, I am less than the one who has just been born again. By the time he got to writing to Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:15, he said "I am the chief of sinners". He went down steadily so that God can raise him up steadily.

He put his face between his feet, I think that one shows clearly "I don't want any distraction please". I am not going to be distracted. I am here for serious business I want to focus on God. The Bible says in Psalm 112:11 when your heart is fixed on the Lord, then you will not be afraid of evil tidings.. He is a man with rugged determination like in Genesis 32:24-26 when Jacob was wrestling with that angel. He said I am not going to let you go until you bless me, I think Elijah was saying I am not going to even look to the sky until you send rain. The reason many prayers are not answered is because those who are praying are not determined. When a man hasn't got plan B, he prays with determination.

My prayer for you who is reading this is that you too will just dig in and say " God this is the last Sunday of November, I am not moving until you answer my prayers".

    Conclusion
Psalm 24:3-6 says not everybody can climb the mountain of God, the person who climb to that mountain where you are going to make contact with God, you must have clean hands, pure heart. If you want to climb to the top of the mountain of God, be holy. God made provision for anyone who wants to climb to the mountain of Jesus Christ in the blood of Jesus Christ.

    1 John 1:7

If you have not been washed in that blood, run to Jesus right now. Fall down at the foot of the cross and say Lord wash me, I want to be clean. I want to climb to the mountain top to make contact with the Most High. Cry to Him to save your Soul.

Father I want to give you all honour for your world, I want to thank you for the opportunity we have to go to the mountain possible so we can be very close to God. I am committing all those who coming to you today for salvation. Please Lord save their soul, wipe them clean and give them that opportunity to climb the very mountain of the Most High God and come in contact with You. As many of us that are going to humble ourselves as many of us that are going to say Lord today must be the day, we are not moving until you bless us. Father please, bless us all in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

  • I pray for you that you won’t come to that stage where your past Christian life is better than the present time you are in. And if that is your experience, the mercy of God will locate you right now. The grace to keep moving from grace to grace will come upon you, in Jesus name.

  • INSTRUCTIONS FOR EFFECTIVE AND FUNCTIONAL MATRIMONY ~ Bro Gbile Akanni

Prov.18:16 Every time God is bringing two people together in matrimony, He has already seen ahead of them. God does not do this casually but with careful knowledge. This is what makes Christian marriage a wonderful experience because God does not mismatch.

God does not join conflicting bones together. Marriage is a marrying together of the divine gifts that God put in you individually. If it is properly done, marriage is a combination of gifts.

A marriage is not meant to be a suspension, a disruption or a discarding of the gifts of God in your life. For your marriage to be great, you must not stifle the gift of God in your wife. You must not disregard the peculiar endowment of God in your husband.
Whatever God has put in your husband or in your wife, is to be nurtured unto expression and outburst.

Every gift on the inside of your spouse is for you and that is what will make a way for you. Prov.18:16 When a man is operating in his gifts, you do not struggle because it will be making room for you.
A man that is not walking in his gifts will be struggling to find space.

As you settle in marriage, learn to discover the peculiar gifts and grace then concentrate on nurturing it and as it is combined, your ministry will find expression.

You do not need to lobby to see great men, just nurture the gift of God in your life. This is what sets the foundation in marriage. The woman in your life, is meant to bring you into greatness.

Prov.18:17 Marriages scatter sometimes because of assumptions and presumptions. Your greatness is jeopardized when you conclude that you are right in your own cause. It does not reduce you if you listen.
A teachable man only grows wiser. An argumentative man throws away wisdom.

As a husband or a wife, give allowance. Make room for second opinion. When you argue with your husband, you will not conquer.
The way forward is not the way of insisting. The second opinion will add wisdom to your life.

Take steps that are right on target so as not to live on presumptions. Do not resist the criticism of one who knows you well. Allow your wife search you out.
This, however, is not a license for destructive criticism. Endeavour to come with gentleness. Do not insist on your own way.

Prov.18:18 Do not let your marriage run on contentions. Do not allow for external influences.
Prov.18:19 Always ask for mercy so as not to lose your spouse. Avoid contentions totally. It cost you nothing to let go.

• If the message does not have its root in the Cross, don’t preach it.

If the song does not lead men to the Cross, don’t sing.

If you can preach or sing in the synagogue and the Pharisees and Sadducees applaud you after your ministration, it means you’ve lost the essence of the message: the Cross. Go back and check your life.
