  • God makes miracles everyday.. But this one hits me so hard. I know this family... Particularly I know the daughter Grace Peckham who went to HS with my granddaughter. This story at this link just melts my heart...makes a major miracle so real so close to home. If you have the time please watch this. I have farming in my DNA... Grew up with "poor" little farm of my grandmothers which was my favorite place on the planet This event brings back such memories and my father's heart for farmers... He would get so angry if he felt a farmer needed help and did not get it... It was like an unwritten code. But please watch this and praise God for the miracles here. Just totally amazing!

And if you take nothing else out of this take this line from the 7th generation dairy farmer who currently "owns" the farm (maybe coowns don't shoot me)....

"When God shows you how many people care; it's an eyeopener like you have never had in your life" Matt Peckham

    God Bless!

  • Praying...trying...keeping on keeping on as the saying goes. :) I feel better today than I have most days for a while. Not having good luck with the "manmade" physicians. They don't seem to play the game like they used to and I was in the medical field. Very disappointed with the care I have been NOT getting.... But I keep telling myself to pray. God is still there. God knows what is going on and God knows what I need. I may be in a manmade pit so to speak of "issues" but "if God put me there he will get me out". For the record; it is much easier to see the open top of the pit when one looks up! :) And up is where HE is. How does that scripture go? Let's go with:

    Psalm 118:9
"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Princes"

  • And I have to say; I have so much heart for so many different churches I know some think that is wrong...but that is who I am. Not my place to judge or tell another "chuch" they are wrong. I can enjoy the best parts of all of them .... while maintaining my heart for my relationship with God as properly as I can. I will say I am not a "Choose Your Own Adventure" type of Bible reader. I do believe that there are no "mistakes" in how the Bible is written. I believe you are not to pick and choose and alter the "Word(s) of God" found there. It has to be all....all of it.

Not sure why I felt compelled to say all that but I did... :) Thanks for reading...

  • 1 Corinthians 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Today’s verse can easily be misinterpreted when taken out of context, so let’s clarify something before we go any further. Paul was not calling God foolish or saying He is weak in any way. His point is that God’s ways are so much bigger and better than our own that we cannot even imagine them. We cannot understand exactly how wise our God is or how strong. It is beyond our human comprehension.

In context, this verse was actually a response to those people who claimed Christ was weak and foolish for being crucified, therefore they reject Him outright. Their logic is that if He was truly God and all powerful then He could have saved Himself. And they are right. He COULD have. But He chose not to. He knew that a sacrifice was needed once and for all and He chose to give His life for us. That is not foolish or weak. That is true strength and love.

Rather than God being considered weak or foolish, it is actually humans who are the weak and foolish ones if they cannot recognize God’s ultimate power and love. At the time that Jesus lived and died, the Jewish people were looking for a king who would come and save them from the tyranny of Roman rule. They forgot all of the Old Testament prophecies that spoke of the Messiah suffering and facing death (Psalms 22, Isaiah 53).

“Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe” (1 Corinthians 1:21 NLT).

For those of us who believe, we are saved. There is power in the Cross. There is wisdom in believing in the power of our amazing Savior who died for our sins. It may be foolishness to the world, but it is life to the believer! (1 Corinthians 1:18)

  • 2 Timothy 1:7

"7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

A favorite verse because too often I need to remember this.... :)

  • Amen!
    Amen!
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

There is nothing more comforting in times of high anxiety than knowing God is with me. Knowing He cares and is there to bring me through the times of uncertainty is encouraging. Though I still tend to worry, I know that He is there and has a plan for my life (Jeremiah 29:11).

The Israelites had been wandering in the desert for forty years. The entire generation that had been brought out of Egypt had passed and were not entering the Promised Land. Those who would be crossing into this new land had all been born in the wilderness and had never known anything but a life of desert living and wandering. And finally they were being instructed to move forward with the plan God had for them. It had to be frightening for them, especially knowing they were going to have to take the land from established people who inhabited it already. And that meant war. It is no wonder they needed encouragement like that of verse 1:9.

Though this verse was a promise from God to Joshua and the Israelites that was meant to encourage them, this promise can also encourage us today. God has a message for us that is as timely today as it was in those early days of conquest. He wants us to be strong and courageous in our walks and He doesn’t want us to be fearful or anxious. The Apostle Paul makes that clear to us in his words to Timothy. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid…” (2 Timothy 1:7). We can take comfort in knowing that both Joshua 1:9 and 2 Timothy 1:7, both Old and New Testament passages, encourage us to be strong and courageous, free from fear and anxiety.

In addition, we have the same promise in both the Old and New Testament that God is with us always. We do not walk alone. He walks with us, sustaining us and encouraging us, and sometimes carrying us when we can’t do it ourselves. Matthew 28:20 echoes what Joshua 1:9 says - God is with us always. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Let go of the anxiety that is holding you back. Reach out your hand and let God lead you forward to the destiny prepared in advance for you.
