- Not my own satisfaction but thy glorification.
Matthew 7:22 ESV
[22] On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
We did this and that in your name, Seems like a statement of pride of self. I did this, I did that. Calls to question the intent behind the doing itself. Was it for your own gratification or His glorification.
We push ourselves beyond limits, we burden ourselves more than we must, we put so much pressure on ourselves. For what, so that we can finally feel proud about ourselves, about our achievements, about our accomplishments.
All we are going to get from this is hurting ourselves or breaking our own backs. Many people, in at attempt to prove to themselves, end up in horrible conditions.
Attempt to satisfy oneself (even in God's name), does not glorify God, It does not please God. All it does is satisfy oneself at the cost of torturing himself.
It definitely make him proud of so many list of things he/she did. But question is why did you do it? Were you trying to prove yourself somthing? Were you pushing so hard to satisfy yourselves?
If so, you'll have no reward in heaven. Patting on your own back for your own achievements and milestones is the only reward you are going to have. Not my own satisfaction but thy glorification. Nor does it teach about becoming a better version of yourself.
It speaks of becoming a new creation. The old self must die, and a new identity must be formed in the image of Jesus Christ.
Never think that you will be fit for heaven simply by becoming a polished version of yourself, or that a few minor modifications here and there will somehow qualify you for heaven.
The person born in the Adamic nature must die. Afterward, a new person must be born -one who bears no resemblance to the old self, but instead reflects the image of Christ.
This is what God demands. This is true Christianity: not a better version of yourself, but a new creation. The Bible does not speak about becoming a different version of yourself. - The job of a servant of God or a minister is to deliver the word God has for His people. At any point he starts to feel like he is too important or "worthy to listen to," he starts to shut his window toward heaven, and he'll have nothing of value to offer the people.
If God decides to reveal Himself through you, people should listen to you. Standing in your way or trying to stop you would be considered hindering God Himself.
Instead, if God decides to speak or manifest through someone else, people (including you) should listen to him.
Because ultimately, it's not you or me that matters. It is God we want to see. It is Christ we want to hear. The job of a servant of God or a minister is to deliver the word God has for His people. - India is home to thousands of churches, yet many of them do not have a structured Sunday School ministry.
Moved by this need, my wife and I began a mission to develop a complete Sunday School curriculum that would help churches disciple the next generation.
Progress Update: Quarter 1 books in Telugu language are published now and are being distributed among churches.
