Thought of The Day...
Some things are easier said than done.

How is it possible to consider it joy when you’ve lost someone you love, or you’ve just been told that cancer is destroying your body? How can it be “pure joy” when you go through life with a disability that will not go away? Where is the joy when you lose your job, your home, or your business? How can you feel any joy when old age makes it almost impossible to enjoy much of anything?

Doesn’t James understand? Is he so far removed from life that he has no idea what the early Christians were experiencing?

Sometimes we talk without realizing what someone is going through. Years ago I told someone who was about to have surgery that she should turn it over to the Lord. She said, “You don’t know how I feel. You’re sitting on that chair, but I’m the one in bed facing surgery.”

Is that how James approaches the suffering of others?

No. James understood. He knew what it was like to be persecuted and what it meant to face suffering for the Lord Jesus. James also knew that God sometimes uses trials and challenges in our lives because he wants us to grow in faith. Trials can help us mature in our faith. James wants us to rejoice in this fact, knowing we can trust God always?even in troubling times.

Prayer...
Lord Jesus, as we come to you in prayer, we humbly ask for your guidance and strength. We know that life is full of trials and challenges, and at times it can be difficult to find joy in the midst of our struggles. But we are reminded by your Word in James 1:2 to count it all joy when we face trials, for they produce endurance and make us complete. Help us to have unwavering faith in your plan for our lives, knowing that you have a purpose for everything that happens to us.

Give us the wisdom to trust in you, even in the toughest of times. May our struggles draw us closer to you, as we seek your comfort and peace in the midst of our storms. Help us to see the lessons and blessings that come from our trials, and to use them to grow in faith and character.

Father, may our prayers be a constant reminder of your love and faithfulness. Strengthen us to face any trials that come our way, and to rejoice in them, for we know that they are building our endurance and molding us into the people you want us to be. Thank you for your unending grace and mercy. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

# PRAYERS NEEDED # OPEN DOORS

Heavenly Father, As we gather together on this Monday morning, we come before you with grateful hearts for the blessings we received during our Sunday service. Your presence was felt, and we were reminded of your love and faithfulness.

As we begin a new week, we ask for your guidance and strength. Help us to carry the lessons and teachings from Sunday with us throughout this week. May we walk in your ways and shine your light in all that we do.

Lord, we pray for your protection and provision over our families, friends, and loved ones. Help us to be a source of encouragement and love to all those around us, especially those who are struggling.

As we go about our daily tasks, may we always seek to honor and glorify your name. Give us the wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions and the courage to stand firm in our faith.

Father, we thank you for another day to serve you and be a witness to your goodness. Help us to see every opportunity as a chance to spread your love and share your message of hope.

We trust in your plans for us, and we know that you have great things in store for us this week. Thank you for hearing our prayers and being with us every step of the way. We praise you in advance for what you are about to do in our lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, We come before you on this Tuesday morning, with humble hearts and uplifted hands. Lord, we come to you as a family and in unity, asking for your presence and guidance in our lives. We thank you for the gift of a new day and for the blessings you have bestowed upon us.

Lord, we lift up our unsaved family members to you. We pray that they may encounter you in a powerful way and come to know you personally. We ask for your mercy and grace to be poured out upon them, drawing them closer to your loving arms.

Father, we also bring before you our loved ones who are suffering from sickness and disease. We declare your promise in Isaiah 53:5 that by your stripes, we are healed. We rebuke every form of illness and disease in the name of Jesus and we claim complete healing over our bodies and the bodies of our family members.

We specifically pray against cancer, sugar diabetes, liver disease, Lupus, mental health issues, and any other sickness that may try to attack us. We declare that by your stripes, we are healed and we stand on your promises for complete healing and restoration.

Lord, we thank you for hearing our prayers and for your promises in Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thought of The Day...
Have you ever been around a positive person who makes others smile? Such people can brighten even the dreariest of days. On the other hand, negative people can leave us feeling drained and discouraged.

Paul had a missionary friend named Barnabas, whose name means “son of encouragement” (Acts 4:36). No wonder Barnabas was a leader in the church and a welcome companion to Paul. Surely Paul valued his encouragement when they were rejected and even beat up on their mission journey together (Acts 13-14).

Here Paul, like Barnabas, encourages the Thessalonians to be wise, sober, and unafraid of the dark times they lived in. They could wear faith, love, and hope as armor, encouraged and strengthened in Christ for any challenges that might come.

Think about words of encouragement that have inspired you. At a retreat a while back, a brother spoke of how someone had described him as a leader, though he didn’t see himself that way. That inspired him to become more active in his church and to grow into his gifts.

Sometimes we take people for granted and don’t see the ways they are gifted. We forget to thank others for the ways they bless our lives. Does your family know how much you value them? How can you be a source of encouragement in your community? Who in your church could use an encouraging word to grow in their gifts?

Prayer...
Heavenly Father, We come before you today, humbled and grateful for your love and kindness towards us. We thank you for the gift of community and the people you have placed in our lives to lift us up and encourage us.

As we reflect on the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:11, we pray that you would make us a people who truly embody this verse. May we be quick to speak words of encouragement and love to those around us, bringing out the best in them.

Lord, help us to set aside our differences and come together as a unified body, supporting and uplifting each other in both good times and bad. May our words and actions be a reflection of your love and grace.

We ask for your guidance and wisdom to discern when someone may be in need of our encouragement. Give us the words to speak and the actions to take to show your love to them.

Thank you, Lord, for the privilege of being your hands and feet in this world. May we always strive to encourage one another and bring glory to your name.

We pray all these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
