Romans 10 v 3 "For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God." It’s a strange idea that the devil can be interested in helping you to establish your own righteousness, but this is the reason why – when you function according to the righteousness that God gave you as a gift, then you are established on sure footing.
