We must always return to two truths revealed in the incarnation of God the Word:
The First: The union of divinity with humanity is the source of all divine gifts; because the Lord did not come to renew only souls, but also bodies. What happened to His body because of its union with the Lord's divinity is granted to us. And the first thing granted to us is our return to a divine, heavenly origin. This is what made the Lord choose to be conceived without marriage; to end the first Adamic belonging, and we obtain belonging to the second Adam "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive" (1 Cor 15:22). Life became free from biological belonging which we still try to cling to, even imposing it on others, leaving behind the apostolic teaching which took the virginal conception as a basis for the new "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Gal 3:26-28).
The Second: We have become the one body of Christ, overcoming division. Every division in history has ignored this clear divine truth. The unity we mean here is caused by what is in the Incarnate One having become in us all, i.e., the new life that Jesus renewed, which is His life that is granted to us in the mysteries and in the Word by the Holy Spirit. It is not a set of ideas studied in Systematic Theology, but a life, the life of the hypostasis or person. Every attempt made in history to separate Christ from the members of His body expressed a challenge to God's love and humility, and an inability to understand the Gospel message "But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law" (Gal 4:4-5).
Dear brothers and sisters...
Let us love one another as Jesus loved us; for love is the bond of perfection. Let us love our bodies because the Word became flesh, and let us celebrate the feast of the renewal of humanity, not with the birth of a child, but with the humility of God the Word and His condescension to be "among us."
