THE WORD BECAME MAN

JOHN 1: 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (KJV)

- Jesus pre-existed as the word . Before he manifested as a man on earth, there was no human being on earth or heaven called Jesus . The only time the word became flesh was when he manifested through the Virgin Mary . This means that there was no man called Jesus in heaven or on earth before his manifestation โ€.

He existed in heaven or the Spirit as the Word . Jesus never appeared on earth anywhere as a man โ€. From our opening text, we see when the word became flesh or man .

As it is written in Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel ."

The activities of Jesus were seen and communicated by the prophets in the Old Testament but he never manifested as a human being or flesh โ€. This occasion of Christmas celebrated by many people across the world as the adopted date to celebrate the birth of Jesus should remind us of the miracle of the word taking the form of man and coming to dwell on the earth .

This word was with God and this word was God . Therefore, Christ on earth is the manifestation of God in the flesh on earth .

As it is written in Psalm 2:7, "I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee ."

And in Micah 5:2, "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting ."

Philippians 2:5-7 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men .

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory
