• SO AT WHAT POINT DID YOU STOP COLLECTING TITHE?

Many years ago, over 10 years ago.

    WHAT HAPPENED?

I understood this message, I understood this reality, I came to my church and I told them the truth. I apologized to them for the time I was busy drumming tithing, ‘if you don’t pay tithe you will die, if you don’t pay tithe it will be tight, if you don’t pay tithe, you will have accident, because that’s the law, that’s the Old Testament. I preached all of that, but I preached it in ignorance. I didn’t know, it was what I was taught that I preached. But when I sat down and I looked at the scriptures properly, I looked at the scriptures in the light of Christ and I studied my Bible well, I discovered it was not true, I came to my church, I apologized and my church forgave me and they were willing to hear what I had to say. I began to show them scripture upon scripture, and we stopped the tithe and I began to teach my people generosity. I mean the transition period was rough; it was very rough because the people didn’t know what to do again. So I had to take time and teach, but over the years they have understood the truth of the gospel. Now our people give far, far more than they used to give when they were giving under the yoke of tithing and they gave joyfully and they are happier and they love me more because I was honest with them and I told them the truth.

THERE ARE TWO other doctrinal teachings of yours that have also been seriously criticized. One is on water baptism, the other one is on Holy Communion. Talk to us about these?

Well, you know the thing is, ministers need to really calm down and look at the Bible very well; really, really calm down. In fact, I recommend that we need to go to proper Bible schools and beyond Bible school, ministers need to spend enough time to study the Bible well so that we don’t mislead people, we don’t make people run the race that they are not supposed to run.

Water baptism was initiated by John, that’s why he’s called John the Baptist because he is the founder of water baptism, so there are questions we need to ask, why was John baptizing people? In John chapter one from verse twenty-seven to thirty-two, John said the one who sent me to baptize, he said upon whom you shall see the spirit descending like a dove, he said for this purpose am I come, baptizing with water that I may show forth Jesus to Israel; he said I was with him but I knew him not. Which means water baptism was given to John the Baptist to use in identifying the Christ. Jesus and John were cousins but John didn’t know that Jesus was Jesus, it was water baptism that identified it, then John said I indeed, I John, I baptize with water, but the mightier than I when he comes he will not use water, he will use holy spirit, which means my water is symbolic of holy spirit, which the mightier than I will use, but I will use water to identify him, once he shows up I will decrease, he will increase. Which means the aim for water baptism was to identify Jesus. Once Jesus was identified in water baptism, that was the end of it. That is why in Acts chapter one verse five, when Jesus was talking, he said you shall be baptized with the spirit not many days hence. So John the Baptist already put a disclaimer on water baptism. He said, I John, I use water but Jesus will not use water, he will use spirit, which means, what water was to John, is what the spirit is to Jesus. Remember, Ephesians chapter four verse five, brother Paul speaking doctrinally said, one faith, one spirit, one baptism. So a child of God is supposed to have one baptism, so if there is water baptism, and there is spirit baptism, and you are supposed to have one baptism, which baptism should a Christian have? Spirit baptism. So spirit baptism cancels water baptism because water baptism is symbolic of spirit baptism.
So which one cancelled Holy Communion, When Christ even said ‘do this in remembrance of me?’

Holy Communion is a whole different one, so let’s conclude water baptism then we can go to Holy Communion. Again, let me interject. All that I am doing here in this interview is not exhaustive and you know doctrinal matters require thoroughness, they require a lot of exegesis. So this does not substitute the place of exegesis, these are just teasers we are giving. But people need to go and study and we have materials on all of these subjects, in-depth teachings with scriptures, explaining itself. So water baptism does not make you a believer, and lack of water baptism does not make you an unbeliever.

The thief on the cross, if water baptism was that key to salvation, Jesus would have asked the thief on the cross to go down and be baptized with water first, but Jesus said to him, ‘today you will be with me in paradise.’ God doesn’t have double standards, which means all a man requires to be in heaven is faith in Christ, water baptism not required.

Now, I said that to move to your next point, what about Holy Communion? If you read the Bible very well, Genesis to Revelation, there is nothing like Holy Communion in the entire Bible, it’s not anywhere.
    Breaking of bread is there.

That word, Holy Communion is not in the Bible. Breaking of bread is not Holy Communion, Holy Communion is not breaking of bread, there is also supper; the Lord’s Supper is not Holy Communion and the Lord’s supper is not breaking of bread, so what is Holy Communion?

Holy Communion is a coinage of the Catholic Church. It is taken from the word Passover, what we have in the Bible is the Passover, one of the seven feasts that Moses instituted for the Jews to point to Jesus. There is the feast of unleavened bread, the feast of Pentecost, the feast of the Passover. These were feasts that Israel were celebrating and Moses used it to point to what Jesus will do so that Israel will have it in their mind that Jesus was going to come and he was going to come for this purpose. But feasts were used as metaphor to communicate that reality. The full teaching on it is called discerning the Lord’s body. For the purpose of this, anybody who writes to our office, we will send a teaching for free so the person can go and listen carefully and study. The Passover was on before Jesus came; which means it was not introduced by Jesus. The Passover was a feast introduced by Moses that is part of Moses’ teaching ministry to the Jews, communicating the reality of Christ. In the Passover, there were four cups and those four cups were symbolic of restoration, deliverance, you know, I’ve forgotten the other two. But there were four cups, then, there were spices. Then, it was a whole feast, there was unleavened bread, that is bread that doesn’t have yeast, and because it was the law, it must be strictly observed and all of those were symbolic of what Christ will do and they continued that practice right into Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Again, remember I did a background, that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are not New Testament; they are books of the law with new testament promises. That is why it continued but when Jesus was taking it with the disciples, he said to them, ‘I will no more do this with you people, until that day in my father’s kingdom, until that day in my father’s kingdom. You ask why did he say do this in remembrance. We need to understand that the word remembrance is not memorial, it’s not English. It’s Bible language. Remembrance there means ‘with the understanding of me.’ That is, when you are doing this, the understanding should be me, that is this is a pointer to me, now, if it is remembrance as memorial. You only do memorial service for the dead, you don’t do memorial for the living. Is Jesus dead or alive?
    He’s alive.

  • Many people misunderstand what Dr. Abel Damina means when he says, “Jesus was not born by Mary.” It may sound controversial at first, but the explanation is doctrinal, not biological. Dr. Damina is not denying that Mary physically carried and delivered Jesus as a baby. Instead, he is explaining that Mary did not originate Jesus, nor did she supply the human body of Christ. According to scripture, God Himself prepared the body, and Mary simply carried it. In essence, Mary served as a surrogate mother, a chosen vessel who hosted the manifestation of God’s Word in human form.

This truth becomes undeniable when we examine the scriptures. In Hebrews 10:5, Jesus says, “A body hast Thou prepared Me.” Notice carefully. He did not say a body “Mary created for Me,” or a body “from Mary.” The body was prepared by God, not produced by human biology. Mary did not contribute seed or genetic origin. She simply carried the body God Himself formed by His Word and implanted in her by the Holy Spirit. This is why the conception bypassed human reproduction entirely. Luke 1:34–35 shows Mary asking, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?” Her virginity proves the body Jesus had did not come from human lineage but from divine preparation.

This reveals a profound truth: Mary did not produce Jesus, she only carried Him. She was the vessel, not the source. She was the channel, not the creator. She was the womb, not the giver of life. This is exactly why Dr. Damina teaches that Mary was more like a surrogate mother, a carrier of the Word made flesh.

Scripture reinforces this again in 1 Timothy 3:16: “And God was manifest in the flesh.” It does not say God was “created in the flesh” or “born into existence.” It says manifest, meaning something that already existed was made visible. The birth of Jesus was not the beginning of God; it was the unveiling of God in a body He Himself prepared. The appearance of Jesus on earth was a manifestation of the eternal Word, not the biological beginning of a new person.

John 1:1 and 1:14 make this even clearer: the Word was God from the beginning, and that same eternal Word “became flesh.” The Person called Jesus existed long before Mary. He did not originate from her; He only passed through her. Galatians 4:4 says God “sent forth” His Son, meaning Jesus already existed, before being “made of a woman” (not made by a woman).

So, why did Dr. Damina teach this so strongly?
To correct religious misunderstandings that make it seem like Mary produced or originated Jesus, or that Jesus began in Bethlehem. According to revelation knowledge, the incarnation is not a human producing divinity, it is divinity clothing Himself in a body prepared by God, and that body simply passed through Mary.

  • GOD saw that man cannot be righteous or perfect on his own effort, therefore he sent Jesus Christ to come and die thereby bearing the imperfections of man. Hence, Christ died for the sins of man

However , the death of Jesus Christ cancels every other form of sins and make man friends with God through Christ. Any man who receives Christ and believe in him cannot go to hell fire. But disbelieving in the finished work of Christ is what disqualifies man from entering into heaven.

John chapter 3 verse 16, God does not rely on man's righteousness to save man. , that was why he sent his son to die so that man's sins should be forgiven.

"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE." (John 3:16)

"No other sin can take a man to hell fire, except the sin of unbelieve. The sin of unbelieve is when a man refuses to accept Christ. Jesus is the way to the Father. So accepting and believing in Jesus means being in peace with the Father."

IF man must enter heaven through his personal human effort of being HOLY and RIGHTEOUS, it therefore means that the death of Christ was in vain.

"God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9)."

NO HUMAN EFFORT IS CAPABLE OF MAKING HIMSELF RIGHTEOUS. BUT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF MAN THROUGH BELIEVING IN CHRIST JESUS GRANTS HIM ETERNAL LIFE.

  • Dr. Abel Damina's preaching has had a profound impact on many individuals, including my self, Nehemiah Gabriel (Wanai) . As a young Catholic man who already believed in God's existence, i found myself confused by various preachers until i encountered one of Joseph's prince books name Destined to reign and that was the turn around of my faith in Christ and I later encountered Dr. Damina's teachings on Facebook. His approach to Christianity and biblical interpretation provided clarity and strengthened me in faith.

Dr. Damina is known for challenging conventional Christian teachings, particularly those associated with prosperity preaching. He emphasizes a Christ-centered message that focuses on salvation and the transformative power of the Bible, rather than material wealth or prosperity as a sign of divine favor. This shift in focus can be particularly enlightening for believers who feel disillusioned by the prosperity gospel's promises.

One of the key aspects of Dr. Damina's teachings is his emphasis on understanding the true character of God. For instance, he has made statements such as "God does not live in Heaven," which he supports with scriptural evidence to encourage believers to rethink traditional views and deepen their understanding of God. This approach can help believers like you and i find a more personal and meaningful connection with our faith.

Moreover, Dr. Damina's teachings often address the misconceptions and errors within certain Christian doctrines, providing a fresh perspective that resonates with many who seek a more authentic and scripturally grounded faith. His ability to articulate complex theological concepts in an accessible manner makes his sermons appealing to those who are searching for clarity and truth in their spiritual journey.

In summary, Dr. Abel Damina's preaching has helped me, Nehemiah Gabriel (Wanai), by offering a clear and Christ-centered understanding of Christianity. His teachings challenge traditional doctrines and focus on the transformative power of the Bible, providing a path to a more profound and personal faith experience.

  • THE WORD BECAME MAN

JOHN 1: 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (KJV)

    - Jesus pre-existed as the word . Before he manifested as a man on earth, there was no human being on earth or heaven called Jesus . The only time the word became flesh was when he manifested through the Virgin Mary . This means that there was no man called Jesus in heaven or on earth before his manifestation .

He existed in heaven or the Spirit as the Word . Jesus never appeared on earth anywhere as a man . From our opening text, we see when the word became flesh or man .

As it is written in Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel ."

The activities of Jesus were seen and communicated by the prophets in the Old Testament but he never manifested as a human being or flesh . This occasion of Christmas celebrated by many people across the world as the adopted date to celebrate the birth of Jesus should remind us of the miracle of the word taking the form of man and coming to dwell on the earth .

This word was with God and this word was God . Therefore, Christ on earth is the manifestation of God in the flesh on earth .

As it is written in Psalm 2:7, "I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee ."

And in Micah 5:2, "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting ."

Philippians 2:5-7 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men .

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory

  • THE BIBLE IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD

When I see people comment without understanding what Dr Abel Damina is saying that's where the problem is. You can just listen to a clip of 3min and expect to understand a teaching of about 2hours.

When Dr Abel Damina said the Bible is not the word of God.
Technically because. The word of God is A PERSON JESUS CHRIST.

    John 1:1,14
1). In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14). And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Secondly you can't say the Bible is the word of God. Because if you destroy the Bible you can't say you have destroyed the word of God

The word of God is not paper and ink
English or Hebrew and Greek is not the language God speaks

So you can't say that's the word of God
But through the Page of the Bible God is revealed. Even before the writing of the Bible God exists

God did not start to exist the moment the Bible was written

In the pages of the Bible you will find the intent plan and purpose of God.

The vocabularies and verbage, tense and grammar used in the Bible is the author (writer's choice) not God

God gave the inspiration and not the writing
The word of God existed before the Bible was written and the word of God will still exist without the pages of the Bible.

  • PRAYING TO KILL MEN
    (Dr Abel Damina)

    MATTHEW 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; (KJV)

    Every believer is powerful. We
received all the power we need to carry out any supernatural assignment on earth when Christ came to our hearts. It is only by prayer that we exercise this inherent power we have in us. There is also the power of darkness in the world and in unbelievers who carry out the works of darkness.

God’s power does not execute evil. This means that any supernatural power behind the execution of evil is not from God. God’s power operates within the parameters of his character.

Jesus is the exact representation of God on earth. It is in Christ we can know the true character of God. Jesus came to reveal God as love, full of goodness and the apostles also affirmed that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

1 John 1:5, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all”.

Ignorance of the knowledge of the scriptures will cause you to desire God to do what is outside his character. Any supernatural operation of power outside the character of God is not from Him. It is the devil at work.

There is a common expression of ignorance in praying by many believers. They most times pray for people they tag as their enemies to die.

They often use phrases such as “die by fire”, “back to sender”, “be destroyed by thunder”, “we slashed you by the sword of God”, etc.

These prayers are intended to end the life of anybody perceived to be a witch, an agent of darkness who is responsible for their woes in life and ministry.

Some get the result of their prayers and they come to church to testify about how a person died because of their prayer.

Some even send pictures of their enemies to their prophet to kill the person for them. To them, all their human enemies must die for them to be free.

They rejoice in the death of another person they perceive as their enemy. This act is very wicked and highly opposed to the character of God.

From our opening text, Jesus emphatically corrected the Old Testament prophets. Verse 43 says “Ye have heard that it hath been said, thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy”.

Jesus then said in verse 44 that “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Jesus, therefore, did not endorse revengeful prayers where we expect evil to come on our enemies. We have no pattern of praying to kill human enemies by the foundational apostles.

It is therefore an error and act of wickedness to pray for anybody to die. God does not kill enemies.

If God kills his enemies, we would be dead by now because we were once enemies of God but God saved us instead of killing us. I don’t pray to kill men. I pray to save men.

  • SOME MISUNDERSTOOD OLD TESTAMENT PASSAGES.

    Read in Light of Christ

Many statements in the Old Testament were written from human perception, not full revelation. Here are key examples Dr. Abel Damina often clarifies:

    1. “Did God repent?”

Moses and other prophets wrote statements like:
Genesis 6:6 “It repented the Lord…”
1 Samuel 15:11 “It repenteth me that I made Saul king…”
    Judges 2:18 “…it repented the Lord…”

But later, the same scriptures say:
Numbers 23:19 – “God is not a man that He should repent.”
    So is God confused? No.
These are human interpretations, not God changing His mind. They wrote from limited revelation, not Christ.

    2. “God came down to check?”

Genesis 18:21. “I will go down now and see…”
    But God is all-knowing.
    He doesn’t need investigation.
That language reflects man’s viewpoint, not God’s limitation.

    3. “God wanted to kill Moses?”

Exodus 4:24 says the Lord “sought to kill him.”
    But think about it:
Can the Almighty “try” and fail?
    Does God attempt murder?
    Of course not.

Moses reported based on fear and perception, not accurate revelation.

  • FALSE KNOWLEDGE
False knowledge is more deadlier than ignorance, it's better not to know something than to have wrong knowledge because people with wrong knowledge often have pride

The container is false knowledge while the lid is pride

Some Christians with wrong knowledge will never come to the Knowledge of Truth because of pride, you've been attending a particular Church for 10years plus but you can't defend Christianity, your own Christianity is mixed-up with African voodoo Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, idol worship filled with superstition

When you pray, we're confused if you're really a Christian or voodoo practioner

Tell me why you won't fight the Truth?

2 Timothy 3:7-8 (KJV) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Many companies don't employ old people because some old people have already built mindsets that unlearning to relearn is a major problem, so companies hire youths who can easily change their mind-sets

In Christianity, you'll see people who have learned error, but when they're confronted with the Truth, they're not ready to unlearn to relearn

Some see it clearly but still deny it

But those with pride will never want to unlearn

They don't want to think they can ever be wrong

What wrong knowledge and pride does to the mind can never be underestimated

If not, how can a Christian say Dr Abel Damina is against other pastors?

Someone who is teaching the Truth from the Bible, but because you don't want to learn the Truth, you start accusing him of being against the Body of Christ

Imagine a Christianity that every pastor teaches whatever he/she wants

Someone said "teach your own, let them teach their own", such statements are demonic

Imagine living in a Country where everyone does whatever they want, you think you'll survive in such an environment??

Yet this is the mindset wrong knowledge gives people

They don't want their knowledge to be tested

They don't want to confront the things they believe

Some are under a spell from their voodoo priests, that's why they fight the Truth

Because I don't understand why a Christian should fight the Truth

Listen, the reason we have the Bible is no one will wake up and say things that aren't recorded in God's Word

Bible knowledge is the boundary for our Christian knowledge

How will you think a Christian can have a spiritual husband or wife or be under a generational curse when from Genesis to Revelation, you won't find anything like that?

We need to accept the Truth irrespective of who it's coming from

Don't always expect God to use who you like
