GOD saw that man cannot be righteous or perfect on his own effort, therefore he sent Jesus Christ to come and die thereby bearing the imperfections of man. Hence, Christ died for the sins of man However , the death of Jesus Christ cancels every other form of sins and make man friends with God through Christ. Any man who receives Christ and believe in him cannot go to hell fire. But disbelieving in the finished work of Christ is what disqualifies man from entering into heaven. John chapter 3 verse 16, God does not rely on man's righteousness to save man. , that was why he sent his son to die so that man's sins should be forgiven. "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE." (John 3:16) "No other sin can take a man to hell fire, except the sin of unbelieve. The sin of unbelieve is when a man refuses to accept Christ. Jesus is the way to the Father. So accepting and believing in Jesus means being in peace with the Father." IF man must enter heaven through his personal human effort of being HOLY and RIGHTEOUS, it therefore means that the death of Christ was in vain. "God’s Word says that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9)." NO HUMAN EFFORT IS CAPABLE OF MAKING HIMSELF RIGHTEOUS.
