MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
MONDAY JANUARY 5, 2026
"IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON"
тАШYou will forget your troubleтАжas water gone by.тАЩ Job 11:16 NCV
NO MATTER how bad things look, always remember the words, тАШit came to passтАЩ, not тАШto stayтАЩ. Life doesnтАЩt stand still; there will always be challenges. DonтАЩt let them destroy your confidence; instead, use them as opportunities to grow. Once youтАЩve grown in the areas where God thinks you need additional maturity, the season youтАЩre in will pass. Nothing lasts forever. Although itтАЩs hard to believe at the time, тАШYou will forget your trouble and remember itтАжas water gone by.тАЩ One author writes: тАШTo forget isnтАЩt to develop amnesia. ItтАЩs to reach a place where the misery is pulled from the memory like poison is removed from an insect bite. Once itтАЩs gone, healing is inevitable. The memory will become as тАШтАШwater gone byтАЩтАЩ. When the water thatтАЩs flowing around your ankles today passes, youтАЩll never see it again.тАЩ Kristin Armstrong says: тАШWhen someone died in Old Testament times, those who were in mourning marked their faces with ashes. They allotted a specified season, after which they scrubbed up and moved on. How much healthier is that than our society? We put on make-up, or a happy or stoic face, and prohibit people from having compassion and respecting the limits of where we are. WeтАЩre so busy hiding, weтАЩre buried under ashes on the inside. God will call us to arise and shine when our light has come (Isaiah 60:1). Ask Him to set your time limit, and be ready to wash your face.тАЩ Then move on.

Morning Prayer
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. тПд Colossians 3:17
There is no wonder more supernatural and divine in the life of a believer than the mystery and ministry of prayer. тПд A.W. Tozer
God, as we start another workweek, we ask for Your blessing. Help us carry the rest and lessons of Sunday with us as we face the busy days ahead. Even if weтАЩre too busy for quiet reflection, may the memories of Sunday inspire us throughout the day. Let the songs and prayers of yesterday keep lifting our hearts as we work.
Help us live out what we learned yesterday in our everyday lives. We want our faith to be real in everything we do. WeтАЩve caught glimpses of Your beauty, and now we want that beauty to shine through us. WeтАЩve read Your commandments, and we want to follow them so that our lives reflect Your goodness.
But itтАЩs not always easy to do whatтАЩs right. We make good resolutions on Sunday, but during the week, itтАЩs easy to forget them and fall back into old habits. We need more of Your grace to help us stay faithful and do our best. Our spirit is willing, but we often struggle to follow through. Strengthen us, God, so we can keep our promises and live out our intentions to obey and serve You.
Let the spirit of Sunday carry into our week, making it bright with love, truth, and goodness. Help us not to fail in our work, our duties, or our challenges. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
