MORNING TEA. THE WORD FOR TODAY
MONDAY JANUARY 5, 2026
"IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON"
āYou will forget your troubleā¦as water gone by.ā Job 11:16 NCV
NO MATTER how bad things look, always remember the words, āit came to passā, not āto stayā. Life doesnāt stand still; there will always be challenges. Donāt let them destroy your confidence; instead, use them as opportunities to grow. Once youāve grown in the areas where God thinks you need additional maturity, the season youāre in will pass. Nothing lasts forever. Although itās hard to believe at the time, āYou will forget your trouble and remember itā¦as water gone by.ā One author writes: āTo forget isnāt to develop amnesia. Itās to reach a place where the misery is pulled from the memory like poison is removed from an insect bite. Once itās gone, healing is inevitable. The memory will become as āāwater gone byāā. When the water thatās flowing around your ankles today passes, youāll never see it again.ā Kristin Armstrong says: āWhen someone died in Old Testament times, those who were in mourning marked their faces with ashes. They allotted a specified season, after which they scrubbed up and moved on. How much healthier is that than our society? We put on make-up, or a happy or stoic face, and prohibit people from having compassion and respecting the limits of where we are. Weāre so busy hiding, weāre buried under ashes on the inside. God will call us to arise and shine when our light has come (Isaiah 60:1). Ask Him to set your time limit, and be ready to wash your face.ā Then move on.

Morning Prayer
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. ⤠Colossians 3:17
There is no wonder more supernatural and divine in the life of a believer than the mystery and ministry of prayer. ⤠A.W. Tozer
God, as we start another workweek, we ask for Your blessing. Help us carry the rest and lessons of Sunday with us as we face the busy days ahead. Even if weāre too busy for quiet reflection, may the memories of Sunday inspire us throughout the day. Let the songs and prayers of yesterday keep lifting our hearts as we work.
Help us live out what we learned yesterday in our everyday lives. We want our faith to be real in everything we do. Weāve caught glimpses of Your beauty, and now we want that beauty to shine through us. Weāve read Your commandments, and we want to follow them so that our lives reflect Your goodness.
But itās not always easy to do whatās right. We make good resolutions on Sunday, but during the week, itās easy to forget them and fall back into old habits. We need more of Your grace to help us stay faithful and do our best. Our spirit is willing, but we often struggle to follow through. Strengthen us, God, so we can keep our promises and live out our intentions to obey and serve You.
Let the spirit of Sunday carry into our week, making it bright with love, truth, and goodness. Help us not to fail in our work, our duties, or our challenges. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
