*SERMON: TRUSTING THE POTTER’S HANDS*
*Text: Isaiah 64:8*
_“Yet You, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the Potter; we are all the work of Your hand”_

*INTRODUCTION*
A potter and clay. That’s the picture Isaiah gives us of our relationship with God.
Clay has no power, no plan, no direction on its own. Its beauty depends 100% on the Potter’s hand.

Many of us are fighting the Potter’s hand today. We want to shape ourselves. But peace comes when we learn to trust His hands - even when it hurts.

*Theme:* Your life is safest, strongest, and most beautiful in the hands of the Potter.

4 TRUTHS ABOUT THE POTTER’S HANDS*

*1. He is Your Father, Not Just Your Potter*
_“Yet You, LORD, are our Father”_
1. A potter can be harsh. But God is a Father with love in His hands.
2. He doesn’t break you to destroy you. He breaks you to remake you. Jer 18:4
3. Application: Stop fearing God’s process. A Father’s hand disciplines, but it never abandons.

*2. You Are Clay - Yield, Don’t Resist*
_“We are the clay”_
1. Clay is soft, moldable, and dependent. The moment clay gets hard, it cracks under pressure.
2. Lesson: Pride = hard clay. Surrender = soft clay. God can’t shape what you refuse to yield.
3. Application: Where are you resisting God right now? Your career? Marriage? Ministry? Say “Father, mold me”.
Clay doesn’t argue with the wheel. It submits.

*3. His Hands Are Skilled Hands*
_“You are the Potter”_
1. God is not learning on you. He’s an expert. He knows how much pressure you can take. 1 Cor 10:13
2. He sees the final vessel while you only feel the spinning. What looks like delay is design.
3. Application: Trust His timing. He’s removing cracks you can’t see so your vessel won’t leak later.

*4. You Are the Work of His Hand - You Have Purpose*
_“We are all the work of Your hand”_
1. God doesn’t make junk. If His hand is on your life, then your life has value and purpose. Eph 2:10
2. Broken pieces in His hands become masterpieces. Think of the “marred vessel” in Jeremiah 18:4 that He remade.
3. Application: Don’t despise your current shape. The Potter is not finished with you yet.

*3 SIGNS YOU’RE IN THE POTTER’S HANDS RIGHT NOW*
1. Pressure + confusion - the wheel is spinning
2. Things being removed - excess clay is cut off
3. A new shape forming - desires and priorities are changing

If you’re feeling these 3, don’t panic. It’s craftsmanship, not punishment.

*HOW TO TRUST THE POTTER’S HANDS*
1. *Stay on the wheel* - Don’t jump off through sin, complaint, or quitting
2. *Stay wet* - Keep your heart soft with prayer and the Word. Dry clay cracks
3. *Stay focused on Him, not the pain* - He’s shaping you for glory, not shame
4. *Wait for the fire* - The kiln makes the vessel strong. Trials make you unbreakable

*CONCLUSION*
Child of God, you are not an accident. You are the work of His hand.
The same hands that formed Adam from dust are still shaping you today.
Stop fighting the pressure. Trust the Potter. The pain you feel now is producing the purpose you’ll carry later.

When He’s done, you won’t just be “fixed” - you’ll be a vessel of honor, useful to the Master.

*PRAYER POINTS / PRAYER*
1. Father, I submit to Your hands today. Mold me as You please - Isaiah 64:8
2. Lord, break every hardness in my heart. Make me soft and teachable
3. Potter of my destiny, remove every crack and defect in my life by fire
4. Lord, finish the work You started in me. Don’t abandon me on the wheel - Phil 1:6

*Prayer:*
Father, You are my Father and my Potter. I am Your clay.
I surrender every broken area of my life to Your skilled hands.
Shape me, mold me, and make me into the vessel You designed me to be.
Even when it hurts, I will trust You. Finish Your work in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*Declaration:* _I am the work of God’s hand. He will not abandon me until I become His masterpiece!_

Blessed day, beloved vessel
