*SERMON: AN OPEN DOOR, EVEN WITH OPPOSITION*
*Text: 1 Corinthians 16:9* – _“There is a wide open door for a splendid work here, although many oppose me.”_ NLT

*[INTRO]*
Paul writes from Ephesus. He sees _“a wide open door”_ for the gospel, yet in the same breath says _“many oppose me.”_
Listen: *Opposition is not proof God closed the door. Often it’s proof you’re at the right door.*

*1. GOD OPENS DOORS NO MAN CAN SHUT*
_“There is a wide open door for a splendid work here”_

*Revelation 3:8* – _“I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”_
*Acts 14:27* – _“God had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.”_
*Colossians 4:3* – _“Pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word.”_

*Truth:* If God opened it, your qualification didn’t open it, and your enemies can’t close it.
*Isaiah 22:22* – _“What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”_

*Application:* Stop knocking on closed doors. Ask God: “Where is the door YOU opened?” Your assignment has an open door attached.

*2. OPEN DOORS ATTRACT OPPOSITION*
_“…although many oppose me”_

*Acts 19:23-41* – Paul’s open door in Ephesus caused a city-wide riot. Demetrius the silversmith stirred up opposition because the gospel was hurting idol business.

*2 Timothy 3:12* – _“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”_
*John 15:20* – _“If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.”_

*Truth:* The enemy only fights what threatens him. No devil attacks a closed door.
*Nehemiah 4:1-3* – When Nehemiah built, Sanballat mocked. Big vision = big resistance.

:* Don’t measure God’s will by the absence of trouble. Measure it by the presence of grace. Opposition means you’re over the target.

*3. YOUR RESPONSE TO THE DOOR DETERMINES THE OUTCOME*

*A. Walk through it, don’t watch it*
*Joshua 1:9* – _“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God is with you.”_
Fear keeps people staring at open doors they never enter.

*B. Work while it’s open*
*John 9:4* – _“We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming.”_
*Ecclesiastes 11:4* – _“Whoever watches the wind will not plant.”_ Waiting for “perfect” closes doors.

*C. Worship through the opposition*
*Acts 16:25-26* – Paul & Silas in prison. Doors opened at midnight praise.
*2 Chronicles 20:22* – _“As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes.”_ Your praise annoys hell.

*4. THE DOOR IS “SPLENDID” BECAUSE OF WHO’S BEHIND IT*
_“a wide open door for a splendid work”_

*Ephesians 2:10* – _“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand.”_
God doesn’t open empty doors. He opens doors to _“splendid work”_ – work that brings Him glory and you fulfillment.

*1 Corinthians 15:58* – _“Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”_

*Truth:* The size of the opposition reveals the size of the opportunity. Little doors don’t need demons guarding them.

*[ CHALLENGE]*
Some of you have stopped at the door because of the noise outside it.
*Exodus 14:13-14* – _“Stand firm… The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”_

Maybe the door is your marriage, your ministry, your business, your healing. It’s open. But people, fear, and past failure are screaming at you.

Hear Paul: _“I will stay… because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.”_ *1 Cor 16:8-9*
He didn’t leave because of opposition. He stayed because of the open door.

*[PRAYER]*
Father, I thank You for open doors no man can shut. I repent for letting opposition talk me out of obedience. Today I choose to walk through the door You’ve set before me. Strengthen me to face the adversaries, knowing You are with me. Let this be a season of splendid work in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

*Declaration:* _The door is open. The opposition is loud. But my God is bigger. I’m walking through!_
