Daily Devotion: Mark 10:15
“I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
We make scripture SO complicated. When we read the Bible, we tend to tear it apart, word for word. A piece of scripture means this and that one means something else, and on and on we go.
Jesus says we need to accept God’s Word like a child. Children believe in fairies and goblins, they believe that animals can speak English! That is exactly how we need to accept the Bible. As simple facts. Nothing more, nothing less. If the Bible says that Jesus is the Messiah, He is. Why? Because God’s Word is the TRUTH, it is FACT not fiction. It is NOT about animals speaking in tongues we can understand.
In addition to these simple facts, we must keep in mind that God speaks to us through His Word. And He speaks to each of His children in a different way, because we all need to hear different messages. But if you read your Bible and you hear God’s message for you, don’t try and twist it out of proportion. Accept it as He sends it. Never say: “Oh dear, no, this is NOT what I want to hear. Let me try interpreting it in another way.” Or worse: “Let me skip this verse, the next one may be more appropriate.”
Listen to His voice and accept what He says with all your heart. Follow His teachings and instructions, without doubt, like a child. He will guide you, guard you and keep you on the right path. That is the only way into the Kingdom of God.
Trust in God alone and don’t let the wanderings of your own mind keep the truth from you.Are you ready to follow God blindly, without question? Will you take His Hand and calmly accept where He leads you?
