Daily Devotion: Mark 10:15 “I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” We make scripture SO complicated. When we read the Bible, we tend to tear it apart, word for word. A piece of scripture means this and that one means something else, and on and on we go. Jesus says we need to accept God’s Word like a child. Children believe in fairies and goblins, they believe that animals can speak English! That is exactly how we need to accept the Bible. As simple facts. Nothing more, nothing less. If the Bible says that Jesus is the Messiah, He is. Why? Because God’s Word is the TRUTH, it is FACT not fiction. It is NOT about animals speaking in tongues we can understand. In addition to these simple facts, we must keep in mind that God speaks to us through His Word. And He speaks to each of His children in a different way, because we all need to hear different messages. But if you read your Bible and you hear God’s message for you, don’t try and twist it out of proportion. Accept it as He sends it. Never say: “Oh dear, no, this is NOT what I want to hear. Let me try interpreting it in another way.” Or worse: “Let me skip this verse, the next one may be more appropriate.” Listen to His voice and accept what He says with all your heart. Follow His teachings and instructions, without doubt, like a child. He will guide you, guard you and keep you on the right path. That is the only way into the Kingdom of God. Trust in God alone and don’t let the wanderings of your own mind keep the truth from you.Are you ready to follow God blindly, without question? 📘 Daily Devotion — May 6 | Mark 8:12 (NKJV) 💯 Trusting Without Demanding Proof Mark chapter 8 describes a moment when the Pharisees approached Jesus and demanded that He perform a sign from heaven. Their request was not motivated by sincere faith but by skepticism and a desire to test Him. Despite witnessing many miracles and hearing His teaching, they continued to demand further proof. The response of Jesus is striking. Scripture says He sighed deeply in His spirit. This expression reveals His sorrow and frustration at their hardened hearts. They were surrounded by evidence of God’s work, yet they refused to believe. The issue was not a lack of signs. Jesus had already healed the sick, cast out demons, fed thousands, and demonstrated authority over nature. The real issue was their unwillingness to accept the truth that stood before them. This passage reminds us that faith is not built on constantly demanding proof from God. Genuine faith trusts His Word and recognizes His work even when dramatic signs are not present. God has already revealed Himself through creation, through Scripture, and most clearly through Jesus Christ. Faith grows when we respond to that revelation with humility and trust. For believers today this verse encourages us to move beyond a mindset that constantly demands visible proof. Instead, we are called to trust the character of God and the truth of His Word. What steps of faith can I take based on the truth of His Word Prayer Lord God help me to trust You fully without constantly seeking proof.
