🕊There was a time when I used to think it sounded a little extreme that Jesus would leave the ninety-nine sheep just to go after the one that had wandered away. I couldn’t fully understand why one sheep mattered that much. But then life humbled me. I became the one who was lost, exhausted, broken, and carrying burdens I didn’t know how to put down. I was the one who drifted, the one who felt forgotten, and the one who wondered if God had given up on me. Looking back now, I realize He never stopped pursuing me. Even in the moments I couldn’t feel Him, He was guiding me. Even when I made mistakes, He never turned His back on me. He kept reaching for me with His grace, His mercy, and His unfailing love until my heart found its way back home. Jesus said, “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” — Luke 15:4 That verse means something completely different to me now. I don’t read it as a story anymore—I read it as my testimony. I was the one He refused to leave behind. I was the one He kept calling by name. And if He did it for me, He’ll do it for you too. No matter how far you’ve wandered, how ashamed you feel, or how many wrong turns you’ve taken, the Good Shepherd is still searching with love, still offering grace, and still ready to carry you home. His love has never been based on your perfection. It’s always been based on His faithfulness.
