DAY 14 - Morning

Theme: GROWING IN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION: Learning To Stay Connected, Not Only In Life But In Heart.

Reflection
ASK, “HOW ARE YOU REALLY DOING?”

Good morning,
There are questions we ask because they are polite:
“How are you?”
And there are questions we ask because we genuinely want to know:
“How are you really doing?”
Your spouse may say, “I'm fine,” while carrying disappointment, exhaustion, fear or frustration.
Don't always assume that the first answer tells the whole story.
Create a marriage where both of you feel safe enough to say, “Today has been difficult.”
Emotional intimacy grows when people feel safe enough to be honest.

God’s Word
“ Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ.Galatians 6:2 (NLT)

Today’s Love Action
Ask your spouse:
“How are you really doing—not just physically, but emotionally?”
Then listen without immediately correcting or giving advice.

Let’s Talk
What makes it easy—or difficult—for you to share your deeper feelings with your spouse?

Prayer
Lord, help us to create a marriage where honesty is safe and vulnerability is respected. Teach us to carry each other's burdens with love. Amen.

From The Counselor’s Chair
A spouse who feels emotionally safe will often share things that a spouse who feels constantly judged will hide.

Marriage Nugget
“Emotional intimacy begins where honest conversation feels safe.”

Remember: In marriage, it is not about winning the argument; it is about winning each other’s hearts
