DAY 14 - Morning

Theme: GROWING IN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION: Learning To Stay Connected, Not Only In Life But In Heart.

Reflection
ASK, тАЬHOW ARE YOU REALLY DOING?тАЭ

Good morning,
There are questions we ask because they are polite:
тАЬHow are you?тАЭ
And there are questions we ask because we genuinely want to know:
тАЬHow are you really doing?тАЭ
Your spouse may say, тАЬI'm fine,тАЭ while carrying disappointment, exhaustion, fear or frustration.
Don't always assume that the first answer tells the whole story.
Create a marriage where both of you feel safe enough to say, тАЬToday has been difficult.тАЭ
Emotional intimacy grows when people feel safe enough to be honest.

GodтАЩs Word
тАЬ Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ.Galatians 6:2 (NLT)

TodayтАЩs Love Action
Ask your spouse:
тАЬHow are you really doingтАФnot just physically, but emotionally?тАЭ
Then listen without immediately correcting or giving advice.

LetтАЩs Talk
What makes it easyтАФor difficultтАФfor you to share your deeper feelings with your spouse?

Prayer
Lord, help us to create a marriage where honesty is safe and vulnerability is respected. Teach us to carry each other's burdens with love. Amen.

From The CounselorтАЩs Chair
A spouse who feels emotionally safe will often share things that a spouse who feels constantly judged will hide.

Marriage Nugget
тАЬEmotional intimacy begins where honest conversation feels safe.тАЭ

Remember: In marriage, it is not about winning the argument; it is about winning each otherтАЩs hearts
