    1. Evening devotion for today.

    *DATE:*
    THURSDAY 21ST MAY, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    RESPONSE TO GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    CARRYING YOUR CROSS DAILY.

    *TEXT:*
    LUKE 9:23-25.
23 Then He told all of them, “If anyone wants to come with Me, he must deny himself, pick up his cross every day, and follow Me continuously,
    Mat 10:38 Mat 16:24 Mar 8:34 Luk 14:27

25 What profit will a person have if he gains the whole world, but destroys himself or is lost?
    [Mat 16:26]

    *TOPIC:*
    CARRYING YOUR CROSS DAILY.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
In our reading, Jesus tells His disciples the cost of following Him. The cost requires that a disciple:
    (i) denies himself, renouncing personal control of his life,
(ii) takes up his cross, making a commitment that may lead to rejection and possibly death, and
(iii) follows Jesus, following the example of Jesus' teachings and lifestyle.
To the Romans, the cross was a sign of suffering, torture, and death. However, for Christians, it is a complete identity with Jesus and a willingness to lay down their lives for His cause. It is also a symbol of death to the world, self, and sin. Many Christians seem to avoid the cross, but Christ's demand remains unchanged. He requires you to take up your cross daily and follow Him. Anything less is lip service and superficial Christianity. A true disciple must be ready to die!

    *REFLECTION:*
    It pays to follow Christ.

    *PRAYER:*
Lord, help me to carry my cross daily and follow You. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    TITUS 2:12.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*

The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart”
    1Samuel 13:14

    Loving Obedience

God is seeking a man; a corporate body; a race; a peculiar people – a new creation. God is seeking a man after His own heart.. a man made in His image and likeness. God wants a man to communicate His thoughts and character to a dying world in sin: and God made man in His own image to have dominion and to rule His earth Genesis 1:26. – but from the get-go, man failed the simple test of loving obedience to his Creator.. so Christ was sent to be that Man after God’s own heart – walking in loving obedience.

    God’s Pattern

The Incarnate Lord, was sent from heaven – to become God’s pattern, for humanity. Christ was sent by the Father to show how a man after God’s own heart should live. His life was lived in spirit and truth – submitted to the Father, in loving obedience. He was the example- the life-pattern for all who would become God’s children, by faith – they were not to copy what He did, but to live they way He lived – in submission to God.

    New Man in Christ

And God’s children became that new man in Christ; a corporate man; a race; a creation. God’s children became the Church, the new creation, which is His body the Church, the fullness of Him” Ephesians 1:23. For 2000 years the church of Christ has been quietly growing into a corporate body, and God is bringing that new creation in Christ into His planned fullness: till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Ephesians 4:13.

    Christ-like Qualities

The thoughts God thinks are good thoughts – the very essence of his moral beauty. The desires of God’s heart reflect the substance of His righteousness and truth. The will of God translates into His noble qualities of love, grace, justice and peace, and such are the qualities that God seeks in the man after His own heart.

    Spirit and Truth

It is into the body of Christ, the Church, that God seeks to embody His noble attributes, and so into that body of believers the Holy Spirit of God took up permanent residence.. so that like Christ, their living example, they should learn to walk in spirit and in truth : a new race; a corporate man : a new creation – reflecting His godly nature.

    Reflection of God

And what is the result? It is not a man who becomes the personification of God….not deity, never… But a man that entirely reflects God’s moral nature – to God’s own satisfaction .. A corporate man after God’s own heart – walking in loving obedience… A body, communicating His perfect character to a dying world in sin. And the goal of that corporate body is, “Christ in you , the hope of glory.”

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

Come unto me, all [ye] that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ⏤ Matthew 11:28

Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work. ⏤ Oswald Chambers

O God, You have taught us in Your holy word to cast our burdens upon You, promising that You will sustain us. We come to You this evening with our burdens. You’ve given them to us as gifts, so we know there must be a blessing hidden within each one. Help us to accept our burdens and receive the gifts they carry. Let us not complain or grumble under them, lest we miss the blessings You’ve prepared for us.

You haven’t promised to take our burdens away, for that would rob us of the blessings You’ve lovingly prepared. But You have promised to sustain us and give us the strength to bear them. So our prayer is that You would give us the grace to accept whatever burdens You’ve placed upon us, to carry whatever crosses You’ve given us, and to bear them after our Savior, trusting in quiet faith.

At the close of this day, we bring You our sincere gratitude and praise for Your goodness.

    Your love never tires,
    Your patience never runs out,
    Your grace never fails.

We grieve You with our many sins, our unbelief, and our complaining. Have mercy on us and forgive us for Jesus’ sake.

Grant us an evening blessing from Your hand. Give us Your peace, strengthen us with Your might, and prepare us for any duty or struggle that lies ahead. Crush Satan under our feet. Jesus, You have overcome the world, and in Your victory, You are our defense and refuge. So we hide in You, as in the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. Bless us for Your name’s sake. Amen.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. FRIDAY MAY 22, 2026.
"GET BACK UP, GOD IS ON YOUR SIDE"

‘…He rose up and went into the city.’ Acts 14:20 NKJV

IF YOU'RE going through a hard time, read these words: ‘Then Jews…came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city’ (vv. 19-20 NKJV). Notice two phrases: ‘supposing him to be dead’ and ‘he rose up.’ Paul was stoned but not silenced; beaten but not defeated. ‘We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed’ (2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NKJV). Imagine satan standing over Paul like a referee standing over a boxer who’s on the canvass. On the count of nine, Paul gets up and says, ‘I may be down, but I’m not out!’ He was a defiant optimist, a self-encourager who knew how to lift himself and those around him. One day in the heat of battle, Lord Nelson’s enemies flashed him a signal to surrender. Picking up his telescope, he looked through it and announced, ‘I can’t see any sign of surrender!’ During World War II, Churchill warned the French that, if necessary, Britain would fight on alone. Their generals sent him a telegram saying, ‘In three weeks, England will have her neck wrung like a chicken.’ Undeterred, Churchill took to the airwaves and announced, ‘We shall never, never surrender!’ He lifted Britain up by its bootstraps! After the war, Churchill addressed the Canadian Parliament. Wearing his hallmark, bulldog expression, and waving the telegramme,he announced, ‘Huh! Some chicken, and some neck!’ The word for you today is—get back up, God is on your side.

    MD.ii. THE UNBRIDGEABLE GAP

"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day." - Luke 16:19

In Luke 16:19-31 we read Jesus' story about the rich man and poor Lazarus. The name of that rich man is not mentioned. There was a beggar named Lazarus. Lazarus, covered with sores, was laid at that rich man's gate and hoped to satisfy his hunger with what fell from the rich man's table.

Lazarus died and was brought to Abraham by the angels. The rich man also died, and while he suffered great pain in the realm of the dead, he saw Abraham and Lazarus far away. And he called: 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'But Abraham said: 'Remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place.'

You could conclude from this story that rich people go to hell and the poor to heaven. That is certainly not true! The rich man, however, did not care for his neighbor and only thought of himself.

The Lord Jesus clearly indicates that after their death there was an unbridgeable gap between them. That means that we should make the decision here on earth NOW. The Bible says that everyone has sinned and that we cannot go to heaven with this burden. The only one who takes away sin is the Lord Jesus Christ.

There comes a day when we will also take our last breath and go to one of these two places. Many people prefer not to believe in hell, but if you believe in heaven, you should also be aware that there is a hell. If man would really realize what hell is, he would immediately repent from his sin. 'He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent' (2 Peter 3:9).

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. ⏤ John 8:12

Prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge for Satan. ⏤ John Bunyan

O God, the source of all truth and grace, You’ve called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light—grant us Your blessing as this new day begins. We ask for Your grace to walk worthy of our high calling, with humility, faith, and hope. May we let our light shine before others so they may see our good works and glorify You.

We ask for grace to perform our tasks diligently, to manage our affairs wisely, to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, and to acknowledge You in all our ways.

Order our steps in Your word and don’t let sin have any power over us.

Give us our daily bread. Provide what we need for this day. Grant us health of body and soundness of mind so that we’re prepared for the duties ahead. Prosper our efforts as long as they align with Your will. If any of our plans don’t fit into Your plan for our lives, we ask that You set them aside, for we don’t want to go against You or do anything that You won’t approve or bless. Restrain us from all excesses, from unwise words, from foolish vanity, and from uncontrolled emotions. Make us thoughtful, serious, and prayerful.

O God, You allowed Your only Son to be tempted by the Evil One so that He could support those who are tempted. We ask You to deliver us from the snares and temptations that constantly surround us, and to strengthen us by Your Spirit so that in all things, we may be more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Amen.

THE UNBRIDGEABLE GAP "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day." - Luke 16:19 In Luke 16:19-31 we read Jesus' story about the rich man and poor Lazarus. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place.' You could conclude from this story that rich people go to hell and the poor to heaven. 'He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent' (2 Peter 3:9). https://www.theblessingdevotional.com 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. ⏤ John 8:12 Prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge for Satan. ⏤ John Bunyan O God, the source of all truth and grace, You’ve called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light—grant us Your blessing as this new day begins. 1Samuel 13:14

    Loving Obedience

God is seeking a man; a corporate body; a race; a peculiar people – a new creation. God is seeking a man after His own heart.. a man made in His image and likeness. Hebrews 4:14-16 NKJV
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

So, we have to give room for His divine strength, for our human strength can take us nowhere.

  • When the Enemy tries to befriend you, don't ever let your guard down ( A Tale of King Saul and David - 1Samuel 18) .

Saul had it all as a King, but he wasn't satisfied because his soul has been corrupted. He still want that which was given to David. Hence he was infuriated by David's Existence and Victories.

Listen, The more battles you win, the more your praise is been sang, the more enemies will be on the increase and won't be able to hide their detestation, they will sought to kill you (like Saul wanted to kill David at any given opportunity) and everything you stand for and behold, but God will always make a way of escape….

Now the tricky part is when they can't get rid of you and every attempts fail, they will seek to honor you before men and draw you closer (another attempt to plan their kill) by any means necessary.

    My Prayer:

I pray for you as long as the Lord is with you, their plans will continuously fail and their plans will fall back on their own head in Jesus name.

God will keep on giving you victory over your enemies in Jesus name.

• Good evening, brethren.

    Evening devotion for today.

    i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SUNDAY 8TH MARCH, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
THE GRACE OF GOD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.

    *TOPIC:*
    DISAPPOINTMENT.

    *TEXT:*
    PSALM 22:1-5.
1 My God! My God! Why have You abandoned me? Why are You so far from delivering me— from my groaning words? Mat 27:46 Mar 15:34
2 My God, I cry out to You throughout the day, but You do not answer; and throughout the night, but I have no rest.
3 You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.
4 Our ancestors trusted in You; they trusted and You delivered them.
5 They cried out to You and escaped; they trusted in You and were not put to shame.
    Psa 25:3 Psa 31:1 Isa 49:23 Rom 9:33 [Psa 25:2] [Psa 71:1]

    *TOPIC:*
    DISAPPOINTMENT.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Disappointment is a common life-crushing reaction to unpleasantness. This may spell despair and distrust. In this text, David endures the hardship of abandonment in his time and forecasts accurately that of the coming Messiah. Their call on God for help seems unnoticed. But through their sufferings, they gained victory. David's deepest pain produced the highest songs of praise, while Jesus' crucifixion necessitated His resurrection, thus triumphing over sin, shame, and death. Disappointments in life are common. For example, a young man jilts a lady on the verge of marriage, and a child full of potential develops an addiction. When you feel disappointed, turn to God for grace to sustain you.

    *REFLECTION:*
God can turn disappointment into blessings.

    *PRAYER:*
I need Your abundant grace to overcome my pains, Lord. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    ROMANS 8:28.
And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    JUDGES 1-3.

Father, Forgive them for they know not what they do.
    Luke 23:34

    List of Sinners

It was Christ Who uttered these words and many people come to mind:- The cruel Roman soldiers; Pilate; Caiaphas; Judas; the Sanhedrin – the angry mob that screamed “Crucify” – Israel’s leaders in their jealousy? But the list isn’t exhausted in those names in the latter chapters of the gospel. You were included in Christ’s gracious, “THEM” You were in that list of unworthy sinners, and so was I.

    Tender Forgiveness

He was praying His gracious words of tender forgiveness over you, and He was praying His precious words of loving pardon over me too. ‘Oh no,’ you may argue ‘I am not that bad, I’m different, I couldn’t do that!‘ But you as good as held the nails that pierced His hands, and so did I. We are as bad as the mockers, those that spat and the angry mob. The air as good a rang with your piercing scream of ‘Crucify” – as of mine. I helped crucify the Lord Jesus and so did you.

    Gracious Words

The words ‘Father Forgive‘ – were pleaded for you and for me. The words ‘Father Forgive‘ – grace my brow as they do yours. Are we who have been so beautifully, and so freely forgiven by the Lord – are we unwilling to forgive the ones that have wounded and hurt us so much?

    Sin of Unforgiveness

Many people complain that they can’t forgive or they will not forgive, Yet the sin of unforgiveness so often entraps our souls with dark bitterness. Unforgiveness is one of the main blockages to the presence of God; Unforgiveness can turn the heart of flesh into an icy heart of cold stone.

    Unlocking Resentment

Corrie ten Boom who watched her beloved sister die in a Nazi death-camp said: “Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment. Forgiveness is the thing that removes the handcuffs of hate. Forgiveness breaks that power that chains bitterness. Forgiveness unfastens the shackles of selfishness.” Paul reminds us that: “God forgave us ALL our sins” Col.2:13 – only one of which is sufficient to secure the eternal wages of death and hell.

    Full Forgiveness

Jesus is the only one Who could proclaim God’s full forgiveness. He proclaimed full and free pardon instead of pronouncing the required penalty, and in the brief prayer He taught His disciples, Jesus included forgiveness. In that exemplary prayer, He included a profound statement:- Forgive – Forgive as you have been forgiven. Matt.6:12

    Heavenly Quality

Forgiveness is a beautiful heavenly quality that touches the heart of God, When you fully recognise how the Father has forgiven you of your sins – it becomes not only easier to forgive – but a vital necessity.

    God’s Forgiveness

Yes, we are certainly supposed to love and forgive those that sin against us, yet forgiveness does not come easily to any one of us. It is the Holy Spirit Who is the One, Who can fill our hearts with God’s love and forgiveness. He is the One, that can enable us to forgive those that wound and hurt and betray us –

    Pursue His Love

But before waiting for things to happen to enable forgiveness to be applied. we should seek to be proactive in asking that His love fill us to overflowing. Pursuit of His Love should be a conscious part of our prayer-time. We should seek to be filled with His love that surpasses understanding. Jesus loves us so much that He is at the Father’s side… interceding for us.

    Hardened the Heart

The famous words, “I can forgive but I can NEVER forget,” is a couched way of saying I cannot forgive – and I will not forgive. This is a very dangerous and unwise attitude of heart – for it is a big step towards the “hardening of the heart” that is seen in Pharaoh. You note that during the first few plagues Pharaoh hardened his own heart, but in the end, it was the LORD that hardened Pharaoh’s heart. Don’t allow unforgiveness to harden your heart to this extent, but rather seek the Lord to soften your heart, and if necessary to break your heart.

    Buried Unforgiveness

Equally harmful to the soul is the pretence that we have forgiven another, when in fact we have only buried the pain in the depths of our being.. allowing it to resurface periodically to our own harm and often to the hurt of others – hiding behind a mask of normality while unforgiveness burns in our soul.

    Father Forgive

Buried unforgiveness is at the root of most relational difficulties, but forgiveness melts the hardening casement around a hardened heart. When you pray, say “Father forgive – as we forgive others.”

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    i. Evening Prayer

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⏤ Romans 5:8

The prayer of faith is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan

O God of love, we offer You our heartfelt thanks for all Your mercies, but especially for Your unspeakable gift, Jesus Christ, Your Son, in whom all gifts and blessings are included. We thank You that You loved us in our sin, not waiting for us to come to You with our love to win Your love, but that You demonstrated Your love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. We humbly adore this wonderful love, without which we would have perished forever in our sins.

O may our hearts respond to Your love. Our love is so small in comparison with Yours—so unworthy, so fickle, and uncertain, that we are ashamed to offer it to You. Have mercy upon us, O God, and grant us more of Your grace and of Your Holy Spirit, that our love may be deepened and strengthened.

May this Sunday be blessed to us. Fix in our hearts all the good things we have heard and learned. Sanctify to us all our worship, the instruction we have received, and the holy impressions made upon us. Accept what we have tried to do to help and bless others.

Bless us again as a family as we bow at Your feet. Give us many rich blessings out of Your grace. Bless our time together today. May our home friendships grow deeper and more tender. Teach us how to love each other better. Preserve us from those miserable little faults that mar the life of love in so many homes—criticism, impatience, discourtesy, thoughtlessness, lack of gentleness. May love abound in each heart, so that our home life may be sweet and full of blessing.

We come beneath the shadow of Your wings as we go to our rest. Keep us, enrich us with all goodness and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Good morning, brethren.

    1. Morning devotion for today.

    i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SUNDAY, MARCH 8, 2026.
    "TOUCHING JESUS"
‘If I can just touch Moses Ishaku, I will be healed.’ Mark 5:28 NLT

MARK RECORDS the story of a woman who’d haemorrhaged for twelve years and spent every penny she had on doctors, but to no avail. What western culture discreetly refers to as ‘a female condition’ had devastated this Jewish lady’s life. Sexually, she couldn’t touch her husband. Maternally, she couldn’t have children. Domestically, whatever she touched was considered ‘unclean’. Spiritually, she couldn’t enter the temple. So, physically exhausted, socially ostracised, and spiritually depleted, she thought, ‘If I can just touch Jesus, I’ll be made whole’. Her miracle started when she thought about Jesus. But first she had to get through the crowd that stood between her and Him. And so will you! The crowd has its arguments and reasons, but not one of them is worth missing Jesus for. When this woman finally got to Him, two wonderful things happened: 1) She discovered that our faith gets Jesus’ attention every time. Many people in the crowd must have brushed up against Jesus that day, yet Mark records, ‘…Knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, [He] turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”’ (v. 30 NKJV). Understand this: Jesus can tell the difference between a casual churchgoer and a truly hungry heart that pushes through pain, problems, and pressures, and touches Him by faith. 2) She’s the only woman Jesus ever called ‘…daughter…’ (v. 34 NKJV). Imagine how she felt. She probably couldn’t remember when she’d last heard a kind word. You’re not just a face in the crowd, and your problem is not too big for Jesus. Today, reach out in faith, touch Him, and be made whole!

ii. REBELLION, THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT

"Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols." - 1Samuel 15:23

When people think of witchcraft, they mostly think of magic sticks, flying broomsticks, strange spells, dark rooms, glass balls and other practices from the darkness. Rarely do they think of manipulation, intimidation and dominance.

Witchcraft is simply demonic. It is how the evil one makes his will yours without you noticing it. He gains power over your emotions and behavior. This is why people do things that they actually do not want to do. They do it because the will of the evil one has become their will. Why are there so many rebellious young people who cause trouble?

    The root of most problems

Rebellion is the root of most problems. Rebellion is deeply rooted in the mind of man. In the Netherlands many organizations are working on solving this problem and are looking for the cause of it. However, the true source cannot be found because they are searching in the wrong place. The right place to look for it is its root! Many of these rebellious youths are enchanted by the power of sin and they do not even realize this.

You may not believe this, but you will also find sorcery in churches. You will find this evil spirit everywhere. God said: 'You must get rid of the sin from among you.' Paul clearly states in Galatians 5:19-20 that witchcraft is the work of the flesh.

Since the garden of Eden, man did not want to submit to or obey God. The spirit of rebellion is everywhere. However, God's Spirit wants to clearly speak to you today if you are still suffering from that spirit of rebellion.

Begin to tackle the root, the cause. How can we deal with this sinful spirit of Lucifer, the greatest rebel that has ever existed? The Bible gives the answer. Peter says in Acts 2:38: 1) repent; 2) be baptized; 3) be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Buried Unforgiveness Equally harmful to the soul is the pretence that we have forgiven another, when in fact we have only buried the pain in the depths of our being.. allowing it to resurface periodically to our own harm and often to the hurt of others – hiding behind a mask of normality while unforgiveness burns in our soul. Father Forgive Buried unforgiveness is at the root of most relational difficulties, but forgiveness melts the hardening casement around a hardened heart. When you pray, say “Father forgive – as we forgive others.” Post navigation Previous Post Previous God’s Little Remnant Proudly powered by WordPress. 2. Evening Prayer for today. i. "TOUCHING JESUS" ‘If I can just touch [Him], I will be healed.’ Mark 5:28 NLT MARK RECORDS the story of a woman who’d haemorrhaged for twelve years and spent every penny she had on doctors, but to no avail. 34 NKJV).
