• The Confrontation with Death
When the Lord was born of the Virgin, He was born without a physical father, not because He hates marriage, but because natural birth is a birth that does not last and is struck by death, whereas spiritual birth from the Holy Spirit is a birth that overcomes death. Thus, the first confrontation between the Lord and death was in the manger of Bethlehem, because He took on a complete human nature, as the Church says: "He became like us in all things except sin alone," and He took the nature susceptible to death in the manger and made it a living nature through union with His hypostasis, overcoming sin by living in it before being sacrificed on the cross. And when He came to Golgotha, He made His holy, complete nature face death itself, which has no root in sin, because the Lord was without sin, but He came to death. Here, death is not an external force the Lord faces outside His being, but a force within His being. The Lord offered Himself, removing the desire for survival and separation from the Father that was in Adam, and destroyed it by freely offering Himself—unconstrained. Thus, He removed from human nature its reliance on itself for survival—the same human nature formed by the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Theotokos, which relied entirely on union and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
From here, we must realize that the Lord Jesus did not die the same death as Adam but died the death of the cross, thereby lifting the judgment of death through His death.

  • It was completely impossible for the Lord to sin
It was completely impossible for the Lord to sin for one reason: that He - as the new Adam - did not live a life independent of God the Father. He is the eternal Son always existing in the "bosom of the Father," and for that very reason, the Lord's perpetual being with the Father did not allow His human life and existence to exist apart from the Father - not according to distances of time – because there is no distance that can separate man from God; for God exists in all times and places, and He is the Creator of all. Rather, separation begins spiritually with the transfer of perception from God to the self, and the contemplation of this self and loving it in a manner isolated without communion, as a unique entity distinct, not seeing its being derived from God but rather derived from the universe, or from the capacities deposited in it.

  • In our Lord Jesus Christ, no event is separate, standing alone.
All events are revelations, and every revelation is like the branches of one tree, all returning to the root, and the trunk is the hypostatic union.
From divinity everything begins; so that everything ends in divinity, God the Word. From divinity comes the human body, a true Adamic body; so that it may return to heaven as a "glorified body," truly.
He is born to be anointed, and is anointed to die, and dies to rise.
And when we hear this heavenly rhythm, we must realize that:
He who was born established the new birth.
He who was anointed established the anointing.
He who was crucified established the breaking of the sting of death.
He who was buried illuminated hell with the lightning of His divinity.
He who rose clothed us with immortality.
He who ascended gave us the inheritance of His divine throne (Rev 3:21)
We despised Him .............. He gave us His glory.
We rejected Him ............... He gave us communion in eternal life.
He was buried in the tomb .......... He shattered hell and resurrected life.
We surrounded Him with hostility ....... He resurrected love.
He became a servant ............ He made us sons and free.

  • The union of divinity and humanity in the Lord of Glory:
The Lord of Glory did not unite with human nature because of a need of His own, but as we say in the sacred creed: "Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary, the Holy Theotokos." The Lord's incarnation for us brought about the union between God and man, which was proclaimed by the Lord's apostle, Saint Paul: "Who shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ?" After considering all of creation, visible and invisible, he brought us the good news of salvation through the impossibility of being separated from the Lord, not because of our works, but because of the power of the union brought by the Son, to Him be the glory.
This is a union with the Father in the Son by the Holy Spirit, where there is no place for works, but only for the grace of God. Although the hypostatic union is specific to the Son, what pertains to us is the same union, where there is no death, corruption, or separation, but rather glory, life, and communion. And just as the Lord united His humanity to His divine Hypostasis, so will He unite us to His divine Hypostasis, so that He is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:1-2), and He is the head from which all the members [receive life]. Thus, we attain the fullness of the incarnation of the Son of God, that is, the perfect human, created anew according to God.
