📘 Daily Devotion — August 25 | Acts 21:13 (NKJV) 💯 Faith That Counts the Cost As Paul journeyed toward Jerusalem, fellow believers warned him of the suffering that awaited him. Out of love, they pleaded with him not to go. Yet Paul remained steadfast because he knew God had called him to continue the mission. His devotion to Christ was greater than his fear of suffering or even death. Paul's response reveals the depth of his commitment. He had surrendered every part of his life to the Lord and was willing to endure hardship if it meant remaining faithful to Jesus. His courage was rooted in his confidence that God's will was worth every sacrifice. For believers today, this verse reminds us that following Christ may require difficult choices. While God does not promise an easy path, He does promise His presence, strength, and eternal reward. A surrendered heart trusts God's plan even when obedience comes at a personal cost. Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you. My apologies for not posting yesterday. It started early, ran fast, and words just did not come to me for a post. It was a good day, in that appointments were accomplished, tasks were taken care of, playtime was accomplished, fellowship was attained, and seeds were planted. Where there were plenty of positives to tout on, one family is in need of comfort prayers. One of them either decided that life here was not worth fighting for or they got a bad batch of something … at any rate, he has passed on. I am asking for prayers for this family. For peace. For comfort. And if possible, answers. Father in heaven, I come to you as your humble servant, embracing the power that you have endowed upon me to come to you and request a sit-down. I come to you, Father, as an intercessor, standing on Your promise that when I seek Your face, You will come. That where two or more are gathered, You are there. Father, I come to You and ask that You make Your presence known to this family. That they can feel, physically feel, the warmth of Your breath and love surrounding them. I pray, Lord, that they will find peace in Your presence as they navigate this difficult time. Lord, I ask that the right people be in place to be the intercessors in the physical as those of us who are abroad are the intercessors in the heavenly realm. We stand in unity, as Your body, Lord, to bring comfort and healing to this hurting family. Hear our prayers, Lord. We cry out to Your mercies and grace. Hear our prayers, Lord. We give You the glory and the honor as they reap Your blessings. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. DAILY YOUTH CHARGE Topic: GOD'S GOODNESS NEVER CHANGES Anchor Scripture Psalm 100:5 (KJV) "For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations." One of the most important truths you can learn as a young person is this: God is good—not only when life is good, but at all times. There will be seasons when your prayers are answered quickly and seasons when you have to wait. There will be moments of celebration and moments of disappointment. But God's character does not change with your circumstances. Today's scripture gives us three reasons to trust Him: the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to every generation. GOD IS GOOD God's goodness is not dependent on what He gives us. He is good because goodness is part of who He is. Nahum 1:7 (KJV) "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him." When you face difficult moments, don't allow your circumstances to convince you that God has abandoned you. He remains your refuge and strength. Romans 8:28 (KJV) "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." HIS MERCY IS EVERLASTING Every day we experience God's mercy. We don't receive everything we deserve; instead, God continually extends His compassion and forgiveness toward us. Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." That means yesterday's failure does not have to become today's identity. When you sincerely turn back to God, His mercy is available. Psalm 103:8 (KJV) "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy." HIS TRUTH ENDURES TO ALL GENERATIONS Everything around us changes. Trends change. Technology changes. Opinions change. Society changes. But God's Word remains true. Isaiah 40:8 (KJV) "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." As a young person, don't build your identity and values entirely on what is popular today. Build your life on God's eternal truth. Matthew 24:35 (KJV) "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." God's goodness was not limited to the generation before you, and it will not end with your generation. His mercy and truth remain available to every generation that seeks Him. Takeaway When life changes, remember that God doesn't. When circumstances are uncertain, His goodness remains certain. When people fail, His mercy remains everlasting. When opinions change, His truth remains forever. Trust Him. Praise Him. Build your life on His Word. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You because You are always good. Thank You for Your everlasting mercy and unfailing truth. When circumstances change, help me to remember that Your character never changes. Teach me to trust Your Word, depend on Your mercy, and live every day with gratitude for Your goodness. Matthew 7:21 — Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father. 1 John 2:17 — The world is passing away... but whoever does the will of God abides forever. In this last age, many are hearing, few are doing. God is not looking for listeners. He is looking for doers who will be sealed. Here is His will. --- 1. KNOW WHO YOU ARE — BELIEVERS IN CHRIST NOT PRACTISING SIN YOU ARE TRUE ISRAEL, YOU MUST STOP LIVING LIKE A GENTILE You must know your identity or you will miss your sealing. Romans 9:6-8 — It is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but children of promise. Galatians 3:29 — If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heir according to promise. Ephesians 2:19 — You are no longer strangers... but fellow citizens with saints. 1 Peter 2:9 — You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. GOD'S WILL: Stop living with Gentile mindset — fear, sin, worldliness. You are Israel of God. Galatians 6:16 Live as holy nation. HOW TO OBEY: Romans 2:28-29 — Let your heart be circumcised by Spirit. Cut off flesh. Colossians 3:5-8 — Put to death what is earthly in you. 2. KNOW WHAT GOD REQUIRES — STOP PRACTICING SIN AS A LIFESTYLE This is the line that divides the sealed from the unsealed in the last age. 1 John 3:8-9 — Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil... No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him. 1 John 5:18 — Everyone born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and evil one does not touch him. 1 John 3:7 — Whoever practices righteousness is righteous. GOD'S WILL: Holiness is not sinless perfection by flesh. It is a new nature that refuses to practice sin as lifestyle. Titus 2:11-12 — Grace trains us to renounce ungodliness. HOW TO OBEY TODAY: 1 Corinthians 6:18 — Flee sexual immorality. No negotiation. Ephesians 4:29 — Let no corrupting talk come from your mouth. Revelation 14:5 — In their mouth no lie was found. 1 John 2:15-16 — Do not love the world. James 4:4 — Friendship with world is enmity with God. Galatians 5:19-21 — Those who do such things will not inherit kingdom. Stop them. If sin is still your practice, you are not sealed. Repent now. Acts 17:30 3. KNOW HOW YOU ARE MADE BLAMELESS — BY BLOOD, THEN WALK IT OUT Revelation 14:5 — For they are blameless. How? Jude 1:24 — He is able to present you blameless. Ephesians 1:7 — Redemption through His blood. 1 John 1:7 — Blood cleanses from all sin. Revelation 1:5 — Freed us from our sins by His blood. GOD'S WILL: You are made pure by grace, not effort. But grace must then produce purity. Romans 6:1-2 — Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! HOW TO OBEY TODAY: 2 Corinthians 7:1 — Cleanse yourself from every defilement of body and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God. 1 John 3:3 — Everyone who hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure. Hebrews 12:14 — Strive for holiness without which no one will see the Lord. 4. KNOW WHAT TO DO UNTIL HE COMES — BE SEALED, STAY ALIVE IN SPIRIT, FOLLOW THE LAMB Revelation 14:4 — These are firstfruits for God and the Lamb... they follow the Lamb wherever He goes. Revelation 7:3 — Do not harm until we have sealed the servants of our God. Revelation 12:14 — Woman given wings of eagle to fly into wilderness where she is nourished. GOD'S WILL FOR THE LAST AGE: A) BE SEALED NOW — 2 Corinthians 6:2 Now is day of salvation. Don't wait for tribulation. Ephesians 4:30 — Sealed for day of redemption by Holy Spirit. Pray, fast, ask for seal today. B) STAY SPIRITUALLY ALIVE — 1 Thessalonians 4:17 — We who are alive, who are left. Many Christians are alive in flesh but dead in spirit — compromised. Let's talk about it. WHAT GRACE IS LIKE Imagine a government makes a law saying, “If you drive above 120 km/h, you will go to prison.” You break the law, you are caught, and you are taken to court. When the judge asks you to plead, you will not plead for justice—you will plead for mercy. Why? Because you know you have broken the law. This helps us understand Grace. Imagine a father establishes rules in his home and makes clear the consequences of disobedience. His children disobey. The mother knows what they deserve, so she pleads with the father to forgive them. The father chooses to forgive them. Then the mother tells the children, “You have been forgiven. Now stop disobeying your father.” That is a picture of grace. Grace does not cancel the law. Grace gives the guilty person mercy and an opportunity to change. The Bible says, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” — Ecclesiastes 8:11. God's patience should never be mistaken for God's approval. When Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda, He did not tell him, “You are under grace, so continue living however you want.” Jesus said: “Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” — John 5:14. Grace gave that man another opportunity—not an opportunity to continue in sin, but an opportunity to live differently. My friends, do not reject God's commandments simply because you are uncomfortable with the Sabbath commandment. And do not teach people that God's commandments are no longer binding simply because you want to defend a tradition. The Pharisees had a similar problem. They knew the evidence concerning John the Baptist, but they were more concerned about protecting their position than accepting the truth. They reasoned among themselves and finally said, “We cannot tell.” Don't be like them. Don't be like the people before the Flood who mocked Noah's warning while the ark was being prepared. Don't be like the scoffers Peter warned about, saying, “Where is the promise of his coming?” — 2 Peter 3:4. God's delay is not God's denial. Grace is God's mercy giving you time to repent. But that time will not last forever. Ecclesiastes gives us the final warning: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment.” — Ecclesiastes 12:13–14. So don't abuse grace. Grace forgives the sinner, but grace never gives us permission to love sin. Grace does not destroy God's law; grace leads us back to obedience. Today, while mercy is still being offered, choose repentance. Choose truth. Choose obedience. Do not mistake God's patience for God's permission. Amazing Love
