• OUR PRESENT ON EARTH IS TEMPORARY

Life on earth is not permanent. Every human being is only passing through this world.

No matter how rich, powerful, famous, or influential a person may become, one day everything on earth will be left behind. The houses, cars, money, titles, and possessions cannot follow us into eternity.

The Bible reminds us that our real home is not here on earth. We are strangers and pilgrims preparing for eternity.

Many people live as if this world is all there is, but believers must remember that heaven is our final destination.

    1. Earthly Life Is Short

“For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” — James 4:14

    Life is like:

    A vapour

    Morning dew

    Flowing water

    Grass that fades away

Today a person is young and strong; tomorrow old age comes. One day every person will stand before God.

Many people waste their lives chasing temporary pleasures while ignoring eternity.

    2. Nothing Earthly Lasts Forever

“For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.” — Hebrews 13:14

Everything on earth has an expiry date:

    Wealth fades

    Beauty changes

    Fame disappears

    Human strength fails

Even kingdoms and empires have disappeared from history. This teaches us not to put our hearts completely on worldly things.

Jesus warned that treasures on earth can be destroyed by moth, rust, and thieves. But heavenly treasures remain forever.

    3. Our Citizenship Is in Heaven

“For our conversation is in heaven…” — Philippians 3:20

Believers are heavenly citizens living temporarily on earth. We must live differently from the world:

    Walking in holiness

    Living by faith

    Showing love

    Obeying God

    Preparing for Christ’s return

A traveler does not permanently settle in a hotel because he knows he will soon leave. In the same way, Christians should not become too attached to worldly pleasures.

    4. We Must Prepare for Eternity

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen…” — 2 Corinthians 4:18

The unseen eternal things are more important than temporary earthly things.

    Questions every person should ask:

Am I ready to meet God?

Is my name in the Book of Life?

Am I living for heaven or only for this world?

What legacy am I leaving behind?

    One day:

    Earthly activities will end

    Judgment will come

    Eternity will begin

Wise people prepare before that day comes.

    5. Number Your Days Wisely

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12

    To number our days means:

    Living with wisdom

    Avoiding sin

    Using time well

    Serving God faithfully

    Making peace with people

    Winning souls for Christ

Every day is a gift from God and should be used meaningfully.

    Life on earth is temporary.

    Material things cannot save us.

    Heaven and eternity are real.

    We must live prepared lives.

Holiness and obedience to God matter greatly.

Time should not be wasted on sin and worldly distractions.

    Conclusion

This world is not our permanent home. We came with nothing, and we shall leave with nothing. The most important thing is to know God and be prepared for eternity.

Do not live only for temporary things. Live for God. Serve faithfully. Walk in righteousness. Keep your faith alive. One day believers will leave this temporary world and enter eternal glory with Christ.

“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” — 1 John 2:17

    Prayer Points

Father, help me to remember that this world is temporary.

Lord, help me to live a life that pleases You.

Father, remove every worldly distraction from my life.

Help me to prepare daily for eternity.

Lord, let my name remain in the Book of Life.

Give me grace to finish my Christian journey well.

  • Called ‘Lord’ on Earth, But Rejected in Eternity !

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
    Matthew 7:21–23 (KJV)

    INTRODUCTION

One of the most frightening statements ever spoken by Jesus is found in Matthew 7.

It reveals a shocking truth: it is possible to call Jesus “Lord” on earth and still be rejected by Him in eternity.

This sermon is not directed at unbelievers alone, but at churchgoers, workers, ministers, and those who outwardly appear spiritual.

Titles, activities, and public confessions do not automatically guarantee eternal acceptance.

What truly matters is relationship, obedience, and transformed living.

    1. Calling Him “Lord” Is Not the Same as Knowing Him

    Matthew 7:23 – “I never knew you…”

John 17:3 – Eternal life is knowing God and Jesus Christ.

Matthew 15:8 – “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth… but their heart is far from me.”

Many people confess Christ with their lips but deny Him with their lives.

Christianity becomes a language they speak, not a life they live.

Jesus is not impressed by religious vocabulary; He looks for a genuine, personal relationship.

Familiarity with Jesus is not the same as intimacy with Jesus.

    2. Religious Works Without Obedience Are Empty.

Matthew 7:21 – “…but he that doeth the will of my Father…”

1 Samuel 15:22 – “To obey is better than sacrifice.”

James 1:22 – Be doers of the word, not hearers only.

Those rejected in eternity listed impressive achievements: prophecy, miracles, and deliverance. Yet Jesus called them workers of iniquity. Why? Their actions were not aligned with God’s will.

God values obedience above activities, and submission above performance.

    3. Ministry Success Does Not Equal Eternal Approval

1 Corinthians 13:1–3 – Gifts without love profit nothing.

Romans 11:29 – Gifts are given without repentance.

Matthew 23:27–28 – Outward righteousness, inward corruption.

It is possible to be used by God publicly and still be lost privately.

Spiritual gifts can operate even when character is compromised. God can use a vessel without endorsing the vessel’s lifestyle.

Being used by God is not the same as being approved by God.

    4. Hidden Sin Leads to Eternal Rejection

Psalm 66:18 – If I regard iniquity in my heart…

Hebrews 12:14 – Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.

Galatians 6:7 – God is not mocked.

The people Jesus rejected practiced lawlessness while professing lordship.

Secret sin, unrepentant lifestyles, and deliberate disobedience will eventually expose a false profession.

A hidden life on earth will be revealed in eternity.

    5. A True Lordship Produces a Changed Life

Luke 6:46 – “Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

2 Corinthians 5:17 – If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.

Romans 8:1 – No condemnation to those who walk after the Spirit.

When Jesus is truly Lord, He governs decisions, habits, relationships, and priorities. Salvation is not perfection, but it is direction—a continual submission to Christ.

    CONCLUSION
The greatest tragedy is not dying without calling Jesus “Lord,” but calling Him “Lord” and hearing Him say, “I never knew you.”

This message is a call to self-examination, repentance, and authentic faith.

Eternity will not be based on what we claimed, but on who we truly followed.

2 Corinthians 13:5 – Examine yourselves whether ye be in the faith.

ALTAR CALL / CALL TO RESPONSE
    Today, Jesus is asking:

Is He your Lord in truth, not just in name?

Are you doing the will of the Father, not just religious works?

Is your heart aligned with your confession?

Now is the time to repent, surrender, and renew your relationship with Christ.

    PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I repent of empty religion and self-deception.

I surrender my heart, my will, and my life to You.

Let my confession match my conduct, and my faith produce obedience.

Help me to live approved on earth and accepted in eternity.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • What Did You Do With the Year God Gave You?

Every year is a gift from God. It is not a right; it is a trust.

As this year comes to an end, God is asking each of us a sober question:

“What did you do with the year I gave you?”

Time is one resource that can never recovers. Once a year passes, it can never be revisited.

Life itself is measured in days, months, and years, and one day we will give an account of how we used them.

    1. The Year Was a Gift, Not an Accident

James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift is from above.”

The fact that you are alive at the end of this year is evidence of God’s mercy.

Many began the year but did not finish it.

Survival alone is not success; stewardship is what God measures.

    Reflection Question:
Did you treat this year as a divine gift or just another calendar cycle?

    2. God Expects Accountability for Time

Luke 16:2 – “Give an account of thy stewardship…”

God does not only ask what we achieved, but how we lived.

Time wasted on sin, bitterness, laziness, and distractions still counts.

Silence, delay, and indecision are also choices.

    Truth:
One day, heaven will ask for a report—not excuses.

    3. What Did You Do Spiritually This Year?

Colossians 4:2 – “Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.”

    Ask yourself:

Did my prayer life grow or decline?

Did I study God’s Word consistently?

Did my character reflect Christ more than last year?

Did I win souls or point anyone to Jesus?

Spiritual growth does not happen accidentally; it happens intentionally.

    4. What Did You Do With the Opportunities Given?

Matthew 25:19 – “After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.”

    Opportunities ignored are opportunities lost.

God gives talents, connections, open doors, and chances to repent.

Fear, procrastination, and comparison bury destinies.

    Warning:
God does not reward intention; He rewards faithfulness.

    5. Did the Year Change You or Just Age You?

Romans 12:2 – “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Some people grow older without growing better.

Pain should produce wisdom, not bitterness.

Failure should produce humility, not excuses.

    Question:
Are you more like Christ now than you were at the beginning of the year?

    6. There Is Mercy for What Was Wasted

Joel 2:25 – “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”

God is merciful to the repentant.

What you cannot recover naturally, God can restore supernaturally.

The end of the year is not condemnation; it is invitation.

    Good News:
A surrendered heart can redeem a wasted year.

    Conclusion

The year is ending, but eternity is approaching.

God is not just closing a calendar; He is examining a life. What did you do with the year God gave you—your time, your opportunities, your spiritual life, and your purpose?

Do not end the year casually. End it consciously.

    Call to Action
    Repent where you failed.

    Thank God for His mercy.

Rededicate your life and time to Him.

Make a godly decision for the coming year.

    Prayer Points

Father, thank You for the gift of life throughout this year.

Lord, forgive me for every wasted opportunity and moment.

Teach me to number my days and live wisely.

Restore every good thing I lost through ignorance or delay.

Give me grace to redeem the coming year for Your glory.

Let my life count for eternity in Jesus’ name.

    Altar Call
If you realize you have lived this year without God, or far from Him, today is your moment of return. Tomorrow is not promised. Surrender your life fully to Christ and let Him take charge of your time and destiny.

  • Before You Die !

Hebrews 9:27 – “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Death is one of the most certain realities of human life. It is not a matter of if—it is a matter of when. Every human being must one day leave this world, regardless of wealth, fame, status, or position.

But the important question is this: What must you do before you die?

Many live as if life will last forever. They chase after riches, fame, and pleasures, forgetting that life on earth is temporary. The wise prepare for eternity; the foolish ignore it.

    REMEMBER THAT LIFE IS SHORT

Psalm 90:12 – “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

Our days are numbered, and every sunrise brings us closer to our final breath. We are not promised tomorrow. Therefore, we must live each day with purpose, gratitude, and obedience to God.

Don’t postpone repentance. Don’t delay obedience. Before you die, make peace with God.

    REPENT AND TURN TO GOD

Acts 3:19 – “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”

Sin separates man from God. Before you die, ensure your sins are forgiven. Repentance is not just saying “I’m sorry,” but turning completely from sin and walking in righteousness.

Many delay repentance thinking they have time, but death can come suddenly. Repent today, for tomorrow may be too late.

    FORGIVE OTHERS AND MAKE PEACE

Matthew 6:14–15 – “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

Before you die, forgive those who have wronged you. Carrying bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting another to die. Let go of grudges and make peace with others. Christ forgave even on the cross—so should we.

    FULFILL YOUR GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE

John 9:4 – “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”

You are not here by accident. God sent you with a mission—to serve Him, bless others, and advance His kingdom. Before you die, ensure you have lived meaningfully and fulfilled the assignment Heaven gave you.

What legacy will you leave behind? Souls saved? Lives changed? Or just worldly possessions?

    PREPARE FOR ETERNITY

John 14:2–3 – “In my Father’s house are many mansions... I go to prepare a place for you.”

Heaven is real, and so is Hell. Where you spend eternity depends on how you live now. Before you die, surrender your life to Jesus Christ, who alone gives eternal life.

No man enters heaven by chance—it is by choice and faith in Christ.
Your preparation for eternity begins with your salvation.

Death is not the end; it is the beginning of eternity. The rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31) both died, but their destinations were different.

The question today is: Where will you go when you die?

    Before you die—

    - Know God personally.

    - Serve Him faithfully.

    - Love people genuinely.

    - Forgive completely.

    - Live righteously.

Life without Christ is a wasted life.
Now is the time to make it right with God.

    PRAY THIS PRAYER

    - Lord, teach me to number my days wisely.

    - Father, forgive me for every sin and help me live in righteousness.

    - Lord, give me the grace to fulfill my purpose before I die.

    - I receive strength to forgive and let go of every bitterness.

    - Lord, prepare me daily for eternity with You.

Before you die, make peace with God. 2️⃣ REPENT AND TURN TO GOD 📖 Acts 3:19 – “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Sin separates man from God. Before you die, ensure your sins are forgiven. Repentance is not just saying “I’m sorry,” but turning completely from sin and walking in righteousness. Many delay repentance thinking they have time, but death can come suddenly. Repent today, for tomorrow may be too late. 3️⃣ FORGIVE OTHERS AND MAKE PEACE 📖 Matthew 6:14–15 – “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Before you die, forgive those who have wronged you. Carrying bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting another to die. Let go of grudges and make peace with others. Christ forgave even on the cross—so should we. 4️⃣ FULFILL YOUR GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE 📖 John 9:4 – “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” You are not here by accident. God sent you with a mission—to serve Him, bless others, and advance His kingdom. Before you die, ensure you have lived meaningfully and fulfilled the assignment Heaven gave you. What legacy will you leave behind? Souls saved? Lives changed? Or just worldly possessions? 5️⃣ PREPARE FOR ETERNITY 📖 John 14:2–3 – “In my Father’s house are many mansions... I go to prepare a place for you.” Heaven is real, and so is Hell. Before you die— - Know God personally. - Serve Him faithfully. - Love people genuinely. - Forgive completely. - Live righteously. Life without Christ is a wasted life. Now is the time to make it right with God. PRAY THIS PRAYER - Lord, teach me to number my days wisely. - Father, forgive me for every sin and help me live in righteousness. - Lord, give me the grace to fulfill my purpose before I die. - I receive strength to forgive and let go of every bitterness. - Lord, prepare me daily for eternity with You. • Judgment Day!

“And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened... and another book was opened, which is the book of life...”

Every man born into this world has an appointment he cannot miss — the Judgment Day. It is not a myth, nor a story; it is a divine reality that awaits all humanity.

The Scripture declares in Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Whether rich or poor, educated or unlearned, believer or unbeliever — everyone will stand before the righteous Judge of all the earth.

    - THE CERTAINTY OF JUDGMENT

Judgment Day is not optional — it is sure and settled. God has fixed a day to judge the world in righteousness.

Acts 17:31 — “Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He hath ordained.”

No one can escape it. The Judge cannot be bribed, and no excuse will be accepted. On that day, truth will be revealed and secrets will be exposed (Ecclesiastes 12:14).

    - THE JUDGE OF THAT DAY

The Judge is Jesus Christ — the Lamb of God who was slain for our sins.
John 5:22 — “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.”

On that day, the same Jesus who died to save men will sit to judge those who rejected His salvation. His judgment will be perfect, holy, and fair.

    - THE STANDARD OF JUDGMENT

Men will not be judged by human laws or traditions, but by the Word of God.
Bible Reference: John 12:48 — “The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”
The Bible is the standard. Everything we did — in secret or public — will be weighed according to God’s Word.

    - THE BOOKS WILL BE OPENED

On that great day, several books will be opened:

The Book of Works (to record every action and thought) – Revelation 20:12

The Book of Life (containing the names of those who are saved) – Philippians 4:3
If your name is not found in the Book of Life, there will be no second chance. Revelation 20:15 says, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

    - THE SEPARATION OF THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED

On Judgment Day, there will be a great separation — the sheep on His right hand, and the goats on His left.

Bible Reference: Matthew 25:32–33 — “And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats.”

The righteous will enter eternal joy; the wicked will face eternal punishment.

    - THE FINAL DESTINY OF EVERY SOUL

For the righteous — eternal life with God.
For the wicked — eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:46).
This truth should make every man live with a holy fear of God and a heart ready for eternity.

    - HOW TO PREPARE FOR JUDGMENT DAY

    * Repent of your sins (Acts 3:19)

*Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9–10)

    * Live a holy and righteous life (Hebrews 12:14)

    * Walk in obedience to the Word of God (James 1:22)

    * Be faithful till the end (Matthew 24:13)

Judgment Day is not to scare you — it is to prepare you. The grace of God is available now, but mercy will not be found on that day. Let us live daily with eternity in view. The Judge is coming soon — are you ready to stand before Him?

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” — 2 Corinthians 5:10

    PRAY THIS PRAYER

    - Lord, help me to live with eternity in mind every day.

    - Let my name remain written in the Book of Life.

    - Deliver me from every hidden sin that can condemn me on that day.

    - Lord, make me ready for Your coming.

    - Let Your mercy speak for me in the day of judgment.
