DAILY DEVOTION - November 21
Gratitude in the Refuge
Psalm 62:8 (NKJV)
(Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.)
Gratitude and honesty coexist beautifully in prayer. David teaches us that trust includes transparency.
When we pour out our hearts before God, gratitude keeps that pouring from becoming complaining—it turns pain into praise.
Week 3: Contentment & Trust closes with rest in God’s refuge. Gratitude doesn’t deny emotion—it
directs it toward faith. We can pour out our hearts safely because His grace never runs out.
Reflection Questions:
1. What burdens do I need to pour out before God today?
2. How can gratitude shape the way I pray about difficulties?
3. How has God been a refuge for me in the past?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my safe place. I pour out my heart before You with gratitude, knowing You
listen and care. Be my refuge today and always. Amen.
Practical Application:
● Write a prayer journal entry expressing gratitude through honesty.
● Pray aloud over one burden and release it to God.
● Encourage someone else to pour their heart before the Lord.
Takeaway Thought:
Gratitude turns pouring out into peace—God’s refuge is found in thankful trust.
