    How did Paul show meekness?

    9 times Paul referenced meekness in his writings, and in his final letter to Philemon he displays his own meekness with style and grace!

    On a high level, this is a communication to Philemon to compel him to take Onesimus back. Onesimus was once Philemon's servant, but had run away and somehow connected to Paul. And then Onesimus became a child of God, likely through Paul's influence, and is now seeking to be reconciled to Philemon.

    And it's due to all this that Paul writes this letter.

    Now Paul could have simply exerted his authority as an apostle and commanded Philemon to take Onesimus back, but that wouldn't have been good for either man and certainly would not have fostered a renewing of a relationship between them.

    Therefore, Paul "made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a" prisoner, "in the likeness of" a friend, and asked Philemon to take Onesimus back! (Philippians 2:7-8)

    How do you decide if someone is a heretick?

    Titus 3:10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

    The apostle Paul doesn't mince words, and these are tough words!

    So, how do we decide if someone is a "heretick"?

    Deciding who is a heretick is something that requires caution, discernment and wisdom.

    If we don't employ caution, discernment and wisdom we will soon categorize everyone that doesn't believe EXACTLY as we do in EVERY little detail as a heretick!

    You don't want to be that person!

    My recommendation is for you to decide on truths that where there can be no compromise.

    I go into this in much greater detail in my long form video!

    Are you sober?

    Throughout Paul's writings, he uses "sober" or its variants 14 times. Paul is the only Bible author to use the word except for Peter, who uses it 3 times.

    Let's look at the definition "sober" from Paul's perspective:

    Acts 26:25 the words of truth and soberness.

    Romans 12:3 to think soberly,

    2 Corinthians 5:13 whether we be sober

    1 Thessalonians 5:6 watch and be sober.

    1 Thessalonians 5:8 who are of the day, be sober...

    1 Timothy 2:9 shamefacedness and sobriety...

    1 Timothy 2:15 holiness with sobriety.

    1 Timothy 3:2 vigilant, sober, of good behaviour...

    1 Timothy 3:11 grave, not slanderers, sober...

    Titus 1:8 sober, just, holy, temperate;

    Titus 2:4 teach the young women to be sober...

    Titus 2:6 exhort to be sober minded.

    Titus 2:12 Teaching us... we should live soberly

    Do your works deny your relationship with God?

    Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Abominable:
    "abominable" or it's variants were used 21 times in the book of Leviticus primarily within the context of what should absolutely NOT be eaten because it was seen as exciting disgust or loathing and morally detestable.

    And while "abominable" or it's variants were used 176 times in the Bible, this is the only time Paul used the word.

    "reprobate" = "rejected as worthless"

    It's safe to surmise that Paul was making it clear to those that have ears to hear, that those "that profess that they know God", but deny him in their works are as disgusting and morally detestable as those that eat bugs, slimy eels, dead carcasses or that participate in homosexual acts.

  • 1 minute in 2 Timothy 4

    Why was Paul concerned "that all the Gentiles might hear"?

    2 Timothy 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

    At what could have been Paul's loneliest time in his entire life, he was fully aware that "the Lord stood with Moses Ishaku and strengthened Moses Ishaku"!

    And it's profound that he was aware "that all the Gentiles might hear"!

    I'm glad to finally be a part of Paul's ministry all these years later, and in some small way helping Paul, "that all the Gentiles might hear"!
