• Behind Every Good and Perfect Gift

    “Behind every good and perfect gift are the favours of God.”

    Every good thing we receive in our lives has God as its source. People may help us, opportunities may come, and doors may open; but behind them all is the hand of God.

    Sometimes, we rejoice over the blessing we have received, but forget the One who gave us that blessing. Don’t just look at the gift; look to the Giver.

    Be thankful not only for what God has given you, but also for the things He has withheld from you. For He knows better than we do what is truly good for us.

    “Every good gift is a reminder that God continues to be good to us.”

    James 1:17

  • PROVERB OF THE DAY

    (Proverbs 23)

    1. When you sit down to eat with a ruler,
    Consider carefully what is before you;

    2. And put a knife to your throat
    If you are a man given to appetite.

    3. Do not desire his delicacies,
    For they are deceptive food.

    4. Do not overwork to be rich;
    Because of your own understanding, cease!

    5. Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
    For riches certainly make themselves wings;
    They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

    6. Do not eat the bread of a miser,
    Nor desire his delicacies;

    7. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
    “Eat and drink!” he says to you,
    But his heart is not with you.

    8. The morsel you have eaten, you will vomit up,
    And waste your pleasant words.

    9. Do not speak in the hearing of a fool,
    For he will despise the wisdom of your words.

    10. Do not remove the ancient landmark,
    Nor enter the fields of the fatherless;

    11. For their Redeemer is mighty;
    He will plead their cause against you.

    12. Apply your heart to instruction,
    And your ears to words of knowledge.

    13. Do not withhold correction from a child,
    For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.

    14. You shall beat him with a rod,
    And deliver his soul from hell.

    15. My son, if your heart is wise,
    My heart will rejoice—indeed, I myself;

    16. Yes, my inmost being will rejoice
    When your lips speak right things.

    17. Do not let your heart envy sinners,
    But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day;

    18. For surely there is a hereafter,
    And your hope will not be cut off.

    19. Hear, my son, and be wise;
    And guide your heart in the way.

    20. Do not mix with winebibbers,
    Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;

    21. For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,
    And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.

    22. Listen to your father who begot you,
    And do not despise your mother when she is old.

    23. Buy the truth, and do not sell it,
    Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

    24. The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
    And he who begets a wise child will delight in him.

    25. Let your father and your mother be glad,
    And let her who bore you rejoice.

    26. My son, give me your heart,
    And let your eyes observe my ways.

    27. For a harlot is a deep pit,
    And a seductress is a narrow well.

    28. She also lies in wait as for a victim,
    And increases the unfaithful among men.

    29. Who has woe?
    Who has sorrow?
    Who has contentions?
    Who has complaints?
    Who has wounds without cause?
    Who has redness of eyes?

    30. Those who linger long at the wine,
    Those who go in search of mixed wine.

    31. Do not look on the wine when it is red,
    When it sparkles in the cup,
    When it swirls around smoothly;

    32. At the last it bites like a serpent,
    And stings like a viper.

    33. Your eyes will see strange things,
    And your heart will utter perverse things.

    34. Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea,
    Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying:

    35. “They have struck me, but I was not hurt;
    They have beaten me, but I did not feel it.
    When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?”

    TOPIC: PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN

    MEMORIZE:
    "As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth." Psalm 127:4 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: 1 KINGS 1:15-31
    15 And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.

    16 And Bathsheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou?

    17 And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the Lord thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

    18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not:

    19 And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.

    20 And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

    21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

    22 And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.

    23 And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

    24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?

    25 For he is gone down this day, and hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

    26 But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.

    27 Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?

    28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.

    29 And the king sware, and said, As the Lord liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,

    30 Even as I sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.

    31 Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

    MESSAGE:
    In (1 Kings 1:1-49), one of King David's sons decided to crown himself king by staging a coup to overthrow his father. Solomon's mother was informed of the development, so she went to David and reminded him that he had promised that her son would succeed him as king. That same day, Solomon was crowned king meaning that Israel had three kings on that fateful day: David, Solomon, and the son who decided to make himself king. Solomon might not even have been aware of the events that led to his coronation; however, because his mother rose and entreated the king on his behalf, he was crowned king.

    There are certain things that children might miss if their parents don't rise to pray for them. A child may not know his or her left from right and may not even be qualified for an exalted position; however, his or her parents' prayers can elevate that child into that position. The authority that parents have over their children, both naturally and spiritually, is great, and they must learn to use it effectively. Any parent who does not pray for his or her child is like a mother hen who watches as a hawk carries her chick away, leaving the chick to fight for itself. The chick lacks sufficient strength to fight a hawk; however, if its mother joins in the fight, it would have a better chance of being saved.

    If you are a parent, do not keep quiet over your children's destiny so that the devil will not tamper with it. Cry out to God to show your children mercy early in their lives. In Psalm 90:14, Moses prayed that God should satisfy him and the children of Israel early with His mercy so that they would rejoice and be glad all the days of their lives. He knew that the secret to lasting joy and gladness was to start enjoying God's mercy early in life.

    Beloved, if you are a parent, do not neglect your spiritual responsibility over your children. Like Moses, ask God to show your children His mercy early in their lives. Let your prayers position them for opportunities early in life. Your children will begin to enjoy supernatural favour that some people only get to experience as adults if you pray for them now. I pray that God will shower His mercies over you and your household, in Jesus' name.

    KEY POINT:
    Parents should not neglect their spiritual responsibility over their children.

And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king. 29 And the king sware, and said, As the Lord liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress, 30 Even as I sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day. 31 Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever. MESSAGE: In (1 Kings 1:1-49), one of King David's sons decided to crown himself king by staging a coup to overthrow his father. KEY POINT: Parents should not neglect their spiritual responsibility over their children. • PROVERB OF THE DAY

    (Proverbs 23)

    1. When you sit down to eat with a ruler,
    Consider carefully what is before you;

    2. And put a knife to your throat
    If you are a man given to appetite.

    3. Do not desire his delicacies,
    For they are deceptive food.

    4. Do not overwork to be rich;
    Because of your own understanding, cease!

    5. Will you set your eyes on that which is not?
    For riches certainly make themselves wings;
    They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

    6. Do not eat the bread of a miser,
    Nor desire his delicacies;

    10. Do not remove the ancient landmark,
    Nor enter the fields of the fatherless;

    11. For their Redeemer is mighty;
    He will plead their cause against you.

    12. Apply your heart to instruction,
    And your ears to words of knowledge.

    13. Do not withhold correction from a child,
    For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.

    14. You shall beat him with a rod,
    And deliver his soul from hell.

    15. My son, if your heart is wise,
    My heart will rejoice—indeed, I myself;

    16. Yes, my inmost being will rejoice
    When your lips speak right things.

    17. Do not let your heart envy sinners,
    But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day;

    18. For surely there is a hereafter,
    And your hope will not be cut off.

    19. Hear, my son, and be wise;
    And guide your heart in the way.

    20. Do not mix with winebibbers,
    Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;

    21. For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,
    And drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.

    22. Listen to your father who begot you,
    And do not despise your mother when she is old.

    23. Buy the truth, and do not sell it,
    Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.

    24. The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
    And he who begets a wise child will delight in him.

    25. Let your father and your mother be glad,
    And let her who bore you rejoice.

    26. My son, give me your heart,
    And let your eyes observe my ways.

    27. For a harlot is a deep pit,
    And a seductress is a narrow well.

    28. She also lies in wait as for a victim,
    And increases the unfaithful among men.

    29. Who has woe?
    Who has sorrow?
    Who has contentions?
    Who has complaints?
    Who has wounds without cause?
    Who has redness of eyes?

    30. Those who linger long at the wine,
    Those who go in search of mixed wine.

    31. Do not look on the wine when it is red,
    When it sparkles in the cup,
    When it swirls around smoothly;

    32. At the last it bites like a serpent,
    And stings like a viper.

    33. Your eyes will see strange things,
    And your heart will utter perverse things.

    34. Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea,
    Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying:

    35. “They have struck me, but I was not hurt;
    They have beaten me, but I did not feel it.
    When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?”

  • The Lord gives, the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. The peace that Jesus gives us is not the peace of the world, but a peace beyond all understanding. Grasp onto that peace and rejoice in the Lord's grace, and be thankful and grateful for everything the Lord has blessed you with and stripped you of. Blessed be His perfect will. He has plans of prosperity for us. The trials are the way there, to purify our faith, to sanctify us, to prove us as gold is proven through fire. Jesus is the vine, and the Lord is the dresser of the vine, and we are the branches. If we bear fruit, we are pruned more often to bear more fruit. Thus, accept the challenges and the trials God gives you; rejoice in them, as they are efforts to bring out more fruit from you.

  • Let's talk about it.
    Deceiver Unmasked

    Why was Sin Permitted? Why did God not destroy the first evildoer, satan, even though He knew how he would harm countless innocent angels and humans?

    Revelation 12:7-9, 12
    And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
    Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

    God permitted satan to carry forward his work until the spirit of disaffection ripened into active revolt. It was necessary for his plans to be fully developed, that their true nature and tendency might be seen by all. Lucifer, as the anointed cherub, had been highly exalted; he was greatly loved by the heavenly beings, and his influence over them was strong. God's government included not only the inhabitants of heaven, but of all the worlds that He had created; and Lucifer had concluded that if he could carry the angels of heaven with him in rebellion, he could carry also all the worlds. He had artfully presented his side of the question, employing sophistry and fraud to secure his objects. His power to deceive was very great. By disguising himself in a cloak of falsehood, he had gained an advantage. All his acts were so clothed with mystery that it was difficult to disclose to the angels the true nature of his work. Until fully developed, it could not be made to appear the evil thing it was; his disaffection would not be seen to be rebellion. Even the loyal angels could not fully discern his character or see to what his work was leading.

    God could employ Only such means as were consistent with Truth and Righteousness. Satan could use what God could not— flattery and deceit. He had sought to falsify the word of God and had misrepresented His plan of government, claiming that God was not just in imposing laws upon the angels; that in requiring submission and obedience from His creatures, He was seeking merely the exaltation of Himself. It was therefore necessary to demonstrate before the inhabitants of heaven, and of all the worlds, that God's government is just, His law perfect. satan had made it appear that he himself was seeking to promote the good of the universe. The true character of the usurper and his real object must be understood by all. He must have time to manifest himself by his wicked works.

    The discord which his own course had caused in heaven, Satan charged upon the government of God. All evil he declared to be the result of the divine administration. He claimed that it was his own object to improve upon the statutes of Jehovah. Therefore God permitted him to demonstrate the nature of his claims, to show the working out of his proposed changes in the divine law. His own work must condemn him. Satan had claimed from the first that he was not in rebellion. The whole universe must see the deceiver unmasked.

    Even when he was cast out of heaven, Infinite Wisdom did not destroy Satan. Since only the service of love can be acceptable to God, the allegiance of His creatures must rest upon a conviction of His justice and benevolence. The inhabitants of heaven and of the worlds, being unprepared to comprehend the nature or consequences of sin, could not then have seen the justice of God in the destruction of Satan. Had he been immediately blotted out of existence, some would have served God from fear rather than from love. The influence of the deceiver would not have been fully destroyed, nor would the spirit of rebellion have been utterly eradicated. For the good of the entire universe through ceaseless ages, he must more fully develop his principles, that his charges against the divine government might be seen in their true light by all created beings, and that the justice and mercy of God and the immutability of His law might be forever placed beyond all question.

    Satan's rebellion was to be a lesson to the universe through all coming ages—a perpetual testimony to the nature of sin and its [p. 43] terrible results. The working out of Satan's rule, its effects upon both men and angels, would show what must be the fruit of setting aside the divine authority. It would testify that with the existence of God's government is bound up the well-being of all the creatures He has made. Thus the history of this terrible experiment of rebellion was to be a perpetual safeguard to all holy beings, to prevent them from being deceived as to the nature of transgression, to save them from committing sin, and suffering its penalty.

    He that ruleth in the heavens is the one who sees the end from the beginning—the one before whom the mysteries of the past and the future are alike outspread, and who, beyond the woe and darkness and ruin that sin has wrought, beholds the accomplishment of His own purposes of love and blessing. Though "clouds and darkness are round about Him: righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne." Psalm 97:2, R.V. And this the inhabitants of the universe, both loyal and disloyal, will one day understand. "His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He." Deuteronomy 32:4.
    Let's talk about it. Deceiver Unmasked Why was Sin Permitted? Why did God not destroy the first evildoer, satan, even though He knew how he would harm countless innocent angels and humans? Revelation 12:7-9, 12 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. • “LORD, ORDER OUR STEPS”
    “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” — Psalm 37:23 (KJV)
    Heavenly Father, we thank You for waking us up this Saturday morning and blessing us with another day. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, protection, and faithfulness throughout another week. “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed… They are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23).
    Lord, today we ask You to order our steps. Direct our decisions, conversations, relationships, families, finances, careers, and ministries. Help us to trust You even when we cannot see what lies ahead. Your Word says, “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:6).
    Father, strengthen those who are tired, discouraged, grieving, or carrying burdens privately. Remind us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
    Touch those who are sick mentally, physically, and emotionally. Bring healing, deliverance, peace, and restoration according to Your will. Strengthen caregivers and give wisdom to doctors and medical professionals.
    Bless our families. Restore broken relationships, bring peace into our homes, protect our children and loved ones, and let our households declare, “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).
    Lord, provide for those seeking employment, financial increase, and open doors. We stand on Your promise: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
    Father, prepare us for what is ahead. When You say move, give us courage to move. When You say wait, give us patience. When You close a door, help us trust You. When You open one, give us faith to walk through it.
    Protect us throughout this weekend. “The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in” (Psalm 121:8).
    Today we declare: Our steps are ordered, our minds are guarded, our families are covered, our needs are supplied, and our future is in God's hands!
    “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24
    In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
    Amen and Amen!

  • Heavenly Father,

    Thank You for the gift of this beautiful Sabbath morning. Thank You for life, for Your mercy, for Your protection, and for bringing us safely into a new day.

    Lord Jesus, help us to slow down today and remember that You are our Creator, our Provider, and our source of strength. Fill our hearts with peace and our homes with Your presence.

    Forgive us for the things we have done wrong, the words we have spoken carelessly, and the opportunities we have missed to do what is right. Give us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us.

    Father, bless our families, our work, our businesses, and our plans. Give us wisdom to make good decisions, courage to face challenges, and patience to wait for Your timing.

    Where there is worry, bring peace.
    Where there is weakness, bring strength.
    Where there is confusion, bring direction.
    Where there is lack, provide.
    Where there is discouragement, restore hope.

    May this Sabbath remind us that our success does not come from our strength alone, but from You.

    “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24

    Lord, guide us throughout this day. Help us to be a blessing to someone, encourage someone, forgive someone, and demonstrate Your love through our actions.

    We place this Sabbath, our families, our future, and everything we are working toward into Your hands.

    In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
    Amen.

    Happy and Blessed Sabbath!
