And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom. 1 Kings 4:34. Conflict and Courage In the days of Solomon the kingdom of Israel extended from Hamath on the north to Egypt on the south, and from the Mediterranean Sea to the river Euphrates. Through this territory ran many natural highways of the world's commerce, and caravans from distant lands were constantly passing to and fro. Thus there was given to Solomon and his people opportunity to reveal to men of all nations the character of the King of kings, and to teach them to reverence and obey Him.... Placed at the head of a nation that had been set as a beacon light to the surrounding nations, Solomon should have used his God-given wisdom and power of influence in organizing and directing a great movement for the enlightenment of those who were ignorant of God and His truth. Thus multitudes would have been won to allegiance to the divine precepts, Israel would have been shielded from the evils practiced by the heathen, and the Lord of glory would have been greatly honored. But Solomon lost sight of this high purpose. He failed of improving his splendid opportunities for enlightening those who were continually passing through his territory or tarrying at the principal cities. The missionary spirit that God had implanted in the heart of Solomon and in the hearts of all true Israelites was supplanted by a spirit of commercialism. The opportunities afforded by contact with many nations, were used for personal aggrandizement.... In this our day the opportunities for coming into contact with men and women of all classes and many nationalities are much greater than in the days of Israel. The thoroughfares of travel have multiplied a thousandfold. Like Christ, the messengers of the Most High today should take their position in these great thoroughfares, where they can meet the passing multitudes from all parts of the world. Like Him, hiding self in God, they are to sow the gospel seed, presenting before others the precious truths of Holy Scripture that will take deep root in mind and heart, and spring up unto life eternal.21Prophets and Kings, 70-74. And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom. 1 Kings 4:34.

A Federal Judge Just Ruled You Have No Right to Know Where Your Tithe Went — and Gateway Church Is Calling It a Victory You gave them your money because they made you a promise. A federal judge just ruled that no court in America is allowed to find out whether they kept it. That is the real headline out of Sherman, Texas, this week — not the one Gateway Church's lawyers want you to read. On June 23, 2026, U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant of the Eastern District of Texas dismissed the class-action lawsuit accusing Gateway Church and its disgraced founding pastor, Robert Morris, of misrepresenting how millions of dollars in tithes were spent. Gateway called it vindication. Morris issued a statement insisting "not one dollar was misdirected." His attorney, a partner at the Dallas firm Haynes Boone, declared the First Amendment had protected the church from "an assault on Gateway's religious autonomy and freedom." Read the order itself, and a colder truth emerges. The judge did not rule that Gateway told the truth. He ruled that the truth was none of his business. What the donors actually alleged The four plaintiffs — Katherine and Garry Leach and Mark and Terri Browder, former members seeking to represent a class of donors — did not walk into court with a grievance. They walked in with a receipt. They alleged that Gateway leaders promised, repeatedly and specifically, that at least 15 percent of every tithe dollar would go to global missions and Jewish ministry partners. That promise, they said, was preached from the platform, printed in the members' handbook, repeated at conferences, and posted on the church's own website. They gave generously on the strength of it. And when they went looking for proof the money had landed where it was promised, they couldn't find it. They alleged the funds were diverted to unnamed "secret organizations" and other purposes — and that the church's accounting was never transparent enough to substantiate otherwise. They called the lawsuit a last resort, filed only after repeated attempts to get a straight answer failed. That is not a doctrinal dispute. That is a question any honest steward should be able to answer in an afternoon: Did the money go where you said it would go? How a fraud claim became "religious" The court never reached that question. Judge Mazzant dismissed the case under the ecclesiastical abstention doctrine — a 150-year-old, court-created principle, rooted in the First Amendment, that keeps civil courts from refereeing internal matters of church doctrine and governance. His reasoning: to decide whether Gateway honored its promise, the court would first have to define what "global missions," "Jewish ministry partners," and "outreach efforts" actually mean — and those terms, he wrote, "implicate religious beliefs." Sorting them out would drag a federal judge into the internal management of a church. So he refused to look. Here is the part Gateway's press statement leaves out. Mazzant had already denied this exact motion once, in 2025. What changed his mind was not new evidence about the money. It was a new appellate ruling — the Fifth Circuit's September 2025 decision in *McRaney v. North American Mission Board* — that broadly expanded the shield around religious institutions. Gateway didn't win because the facts shifted. Gateway won because the wall got higher. The sentence Gateway hopes you'll never read Buried in the seventeen-page opinion is a line the church's lawyers will not be quoting in any fundraising letter. The judge wrote that his decision "may have been different if Plaintiffs had alleged that Morris, Dulin, or any other Gateway leader reallocated their tithe dollars for personal gain. But this is not the case." Read that again slowly. The judge is not saying nothing went wrong. He is saying the donors pleaded the *wrong kind* of wrong. They alleged the money was diverted to organizations — not pocketed by men. And on that distinction alone, the door closed. In plain English: the judge handed the plaintiffs a map back into the building. Why this is bigger than one church If this were only about Gateway, it would still be a scandal. It is not only about Gateway. The same doctrine that shielded Southlake is now spreading across the federal courts, case by case, ruling by ruling. McRaney did not just protect one mission board; it widened a principle that is quietly making the American church financially un-auditable by anyone standing outside its own walls. A donor can be promised a percentage, in writing, from the platform — and when the money vanishes into "outreach," the courthouse door is constitutionally barred. That should trouble every believer who has ever dropped a check in a plate. Not because every church is hiding something, but because a system that *cannot* be questioned will, in time, attract the men who most need to be. What still stands — and what comes next A dismissal on jurisdiction is not an acquittal, and it does not end the matter. The plaintiffs can take the ruling to the Fifth Circuit, though they would be appealing into the same court that built the wall. They can pursue the narrower theory the judge himself flagged — that leaders enriched themselves personally — a claim that sounds in ordinary fraud and does not require a court to interpret a single line of doctrine. A dismissal grounded in the court's lack of jurisdiction, as this one is, ordinarily leaves that door unlocked rather than nailed shut. And civil court was never the only venue: a state attorney general's charitable-trust authority and the IRS's oversight of tax-exempt organizations are not bound by the doctrine the way a private lawsuit is. None of it touches the other matters still circling Gateway and its founder. The financial case closing has no bearing on the separate defamation suit brought by Cindy Clemishire — the woman Morris admitted to abusing, beginning when she was twelve — or on the criminal accountability that flows from his guilty plea to five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child, the conviction that requires him to register as a sex offender for life. A word for the Church Scripture does not grant the steward the right to silence. It demands the opposite. "Give an account of thy stewardship" (Luke 16:2) is not a suggestion the courts may decline to enforce — it is a command the Church is supposed to obey on its own, without a subpoena. The tragedy of this ruling is not that a judge followed the law. He did. The tragedy is that a house of God required a federal judge to decide whether anyone is allowed to ask where the offering went — and then celebrated when the answer was no one. A church that wins by refusing to give an account has not been vindicated. It has only proven it can no longer be questioned. And a ministry that cannot be questioned is one verse away from becoming the very thing the prophets were sent to confront. The court has closed its file. The Church should not close its eyes.

Conflict and Courage. 1 Samuel 14:1-17 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few. 1 Samuel 14:6. Because of Saul's sin in his presumptuous offering, the Lord would not give him the honor of vanquishing the Philistines. Jonathan, the king's son, a man who feared the Lord, was chosen as the instrument to deliver Israel. Moved by a divine impulse, he proposed to his armor-bearer that they should make a secret attack upon the enemy's camp.... Together they withdrew from the camp, secretly, lest their purpose should be opposed. With earnest prayer to the Guide of their fathers, they agreed upon a sign by which they might determine how to proceed.... Approaching the Philistine fortress, they were revealed to the view of their enemies, who said, tauntingly, “Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had hid themselves,” then challenged them, “Come up to us, and we will show you a thing,” meaning that they would punish the two Israelites for their daring. This challenge was the token that Jonathan and his companion had agreed to accept as evidence that the Lord would prosper their undertaking. Passing now from the sight of the Philistines, and choosing a secret and difficult path, the warriors made their way to the summit of a cliff that had been deemed inaccessible, and was not very strongly guarded. Thus they penetrated the enemy's camp and slew the sentinels, who, overcome with surprise and fear, offered no resistance. Angels of heaven shielded Jonathan and his attendant, angels fought by their side, and the Philistines fell before them.55Patriarchs and Prophets, 623. These two men gave evidence that they were moving under the influence and command of a more than human general. To outward appearance, their venture was rash, and contrary to all military rules. But the action of Jonathan was not done in human rashness. He depended not on what he and his armor-bearer themselves could do; he was the instrument that God used in behalf of His people Israel.56Sons and Daughters of God, 208.

Daily Bible Lesson. REVELATION 13. THE FINAL CRISIS OF WORSHIP, ALL THE WORLD WILL BE INVOLVED. Revelation 13 is not merely about beasts. It is about WHO WILL RULE YOUR SOUL. It reveals Satan’s final system on earth: The sea beast — the false religious-political power. The earth beast — the lamblike power that later speaks as a dragon. The dragon — Satan, working behind both. The sea beast leads the deception. The earth beast enforces it. The dragon drives it. At first, the earth beast looks lamb-like—gentle, moral, religious, freedom-loving. But prophecy says: > “He had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” — Revelation 13:11 That means the final deception may not appear openly wicked. It may come dressed as unity, morality, safety, patriotism, religion, and concern for society. But when religion uses civil power to force the conscience, the lamb has begun to speak like the dragon. > “The lamblike horns and dragon voice of the symbol point to a striking contradiction between the professions and the practice of the nation thus represented.” — The Great Controversy, p. 442 The final issue is not merely politics. It is not merely economics. It is not merely world events. The final issue is: WORSHIP OBEDIENCE LOYALTY AUTHORITY WHO OWNS YOUR HEART Revelation 13 shows enforced worship. Revelation 14 shows God’s faithful people: > “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12 So the last conflict is not simply between nations. It is between the commandments of God and the commandments of men. > “In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” — Matthew 15:9 Satan does not begin with open force. He begins with deception. He first changes the mind before he controls the law. He first weakens reverence for God’s commandments before he enforces man’s commandments. He first makes error look reasonable, holy, helpful, and necessary. Then deception becomes pressure. Pressure becomes law. Law becomes persecution. > “The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially controverted.” — The Great Controversy, p. 605 First, the seventh-day Sabbath is pushed aside while Sunday is exalted. God’s command is treated as secondary, while human tradition is dressed in religious language. > “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy… the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:8–10 > “He shall… think to change times and laws.” — Daniel 7:25 Then Protestant America reaches toward Rome. > “When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power… then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan.” — Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, p. 451 Then religious leaders and civil rulers unite. Sunday is urged not merely as a worship day, but as a solution for disorder, calamity, moral decline, and national trouble. Then the faithful are blamed. Those who honor God’s Sabbath will be called troublers of society. Those who keep God’s commandments will be treated as dangerous. Those who refuse false worship will be seen as enemies of unity. > “The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday.” — The Great Controversy, p. 592 This is the dragon’s method: Make error look harmless. Make compromise look loving. Make human law look necessary. Make obedience to God look dangerous. Make false worship look like the cure for the world’s troubles. The mark of the beast is not first about the hand. It is about the heart, mind, worship, and allegiance. > “He causeth all… to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.” — Revelation 13:16 The forehead points to the mind—belief, conviction, decision, and worship. The hand points to action—practice, outward obedience, labor, and compliance. > “Thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.” — Deuteronomy 6:8 So the issue is not skin-deep. It is soul-deep. THE FOREHEAD MEANS ACCEPTED ERROR. A person receives the mark in the forehead when the mind accepts human authority above God’s command. THE HAND MEANS PRACTICED COMPROMISE. A person receives the mark in the hand when they may know the truth, but still obey false worship for convenience, survival, salary, family pressure, or fear. Some will believe the deception. Others will simply obey it. Some will say, “This is truth.” Others will say, “I know it is wrong, but I have to live.” But Heaven still says: > “We ought to obey God rather than men.” — Acts 5:29 The final crisis will not only test doctrine. It will test courage. It will touch: YOUR MIND — what you believe. YOUR HAND — what you practice. YOUR WORK — what you are willing to lose. YOUR WORSHIP — whom you truly obey. YOUR HEART — who owns you. > “That no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark.” — Revelation 13:17 Some will not be conquered by false doctrine— they will be conquered by fear. They may understand the Sabbath, but choose salary. They may see the deception, but choose safety. They may know God’s command, but choose the crowd. They may know present truth, but choose earthly survival. > “When Sunday observance shall be enforced by law… whoever shall transgress the command of God… will thereby honor popery above God.” — The Great Controversy, p. 449 But God also has a seal. > “Hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you.” — Ezekiel 20:20 God’s seal is not a visible stamp. It is settled loyalty to divine truth. > “It is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so they cannot be moved.” — Manuscript Releases, Vol. 4, p. 243 SHOCKING TRUTH The mark in the forehead is deception accepted. The mark in the hand is compromise practiced. The seal in the forehead is truth settled. The final issue is not what is printed on the body—but what rules the mind and directs the life. The beast wants worship through fear. Christ wants worship through love. The beast marks those who yield to human authority. Christ seals those who are settled in divine truth. The beast says, “Bow—or suffer.” Christ says: > “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15 Beloved, this is where the message must pierce the heart: It is not enough to understand prophecy. It is not enough to expose the beast. It is not enough to know the Sabbath. It is not enough to warn about Sunday laws. IF CHRIST DOES NOT RULE THE SOUL NOW, YOU WILL NOT STAND WHEN THE BEAST DEMANDS WORSHIP THEN. The final crisis will not create character. It will reveal it. > “Only those who have been diligent students of the Scriptures and who have received the love of the truth will be shielded from the powerful delusion.” — The Great Controversy, p. 625 So wake up. This is no hour for lukewarm religion. No hour for delayed surrender. No hour for truth admired but not obeyed. No hour to carry prophecy in the mind while the world still rules the heart. Prophecy is fulfilling. Deception is spreading. The final crisis is approaching. Love present truth. Obey present truth. Live present truth. Stand in present truth. Because when the final crisis breaks, the question will not be merely whether you understood Revelation 13. The question will be: DID CHRIST ALREADY HAVE YOUR HEART? Beloved, do not let present truth die in your notes while Babylon still lives in your affections. Do not wait until worship is enforced to discover that self was never crucified. Settle with God now. Yield fully now. Obey joyfully now. Stand faithfully now. Daniel’s three friends faced image, music, law, crowd, and furnace—but they stood. Daniel faced a worship law, a death decree, and lions—but he prayed. God’s remnant will face pressure, deception, laws, and persecution—but they will follow the Lamb. The world may bow. Churches may compromise. Laws may threaten. Families may pressure. But God will have a people who say: WE WILL NOT BOW. This is the final cry of present truth: COME OUT OF CONFUSION. COME OUT OF COMPROMISE. COME OUT OF WORLDLINESS. COME OUT OF MAN-MADE WORSHIP. COME FULLY TO CHRIST. Not merely to a doctrine. Not merely to a denomination. Not merely to prophecy charts. But to JESUS CHRIST— the Creator, Redeemer, High Priest, Lawgiver, and soon-coming King. THE FINAL CRISIS IS NOT FIRST ABOUT POLITICS—IT IS ABOUT WORSHIP, LOYALTY, AND WHO OWNS YOUR HEART. That inheritance is kept in heaven for you, Col 1:5 2Ti 1:12 [1Co 9:25] [1Pe 5:4] 5 since you are guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed at the end of time. *TOPIC:* A NEW BIRTH AND A LIVING HOPE. *THE MESSAGE:* Two basic incredible gifts, a new birth and a living hope, are bestowed upon believers through Jesus' victory over death (Jn. 3:3-7; 2 Cor. 5:17). It gives the believer confident expectation of God's promise of eternal life as a treasured inheritance that cannot fade, shielded by God's power. Regrettably, some believers do not allow this rebirth to shape their thoughts, actions, and relationships toward God and their fellow men. The person who has experienced the new birth cannot continue to live in sin. For example, they cannot continue to maltreat their spouses, colleagues, or relatives. Are you living a new life? If not, you do not have a living hope. And Pilate said unto them, Behold the Man! John 19:5 The Coming Man It was Pilate who uttered these words that are so impregnated with mystery. He presented a Man: scourged; mocked, bleeding; torn and crowned with thorns.. but there was a depth of meaning enveloping these words: BEHOLD, THE MAN! Priests and people alike recognised these words, written in their scriptures. They were words from God, spoken by a prophet, about their future Saviour. They were prophetic words, given to the people, about the coming Man. No Ordinary Man This was no ordinary Man, for He was the coming Seed, Who was to redeem His people. This Man was the Word of God, Who in the beginning flung galaxies into space. This was the incarnate Son of God, made flesh – indeed He was the Man. This was the Man, Who entreated, “come to Me”, throughout His earthly ministry. This was the anointed One the Christ, of whom Zachariah prophesied, saying: this is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘BEHOLD THE MAN whose name is the Branch, and He will branch out from His place and build the temple of the LORD. The Crucified Man Israel beheld the Man Who was their Messiah, yet screamed: away with Him. The nation beheld that One for Whom they had waited for so long, yet crucified Him. Little did Pilate understand the deep pathos of his eternally shattering words: Behold, The Man – Behold the Son of God Who taketh away the sin of the world. Jesus put Himself to open shame so the world could behold the Man. Look and Live Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so that all could behold it and live, and now Jesus was lifted up on the cross – so that ALL could look and live. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up – for all that look will live. But His cruel rejection by man, enabled humanity to make peace with God. Had He not been rejected by humanity, man would have remained rejected by God. Wise and Foolish Those who love Jesus, behold Him as precious saviour; glorious Lord; gracious God – commanding rapt admiration, profound thanks and eternal praise and worship. Those who hate Him are to be pitied for they are proud fools who are lost and blind – commanding the condemnation of God upon themselves. For He alone is the Man that can bring mankind into fellowship with God, and it was for all that He suffered and died, Jew and Gentile – for me and for you. Divine Wisdom The Jews were to purpose and plan the death of their final Passover Lamb. The Gentiles were to execute this resolution and crucify the Saviour of the world.. for God in the eternal council chambers of His Divine Wisdom ordained it to be so – so that whosoever believes on this Man should not perish but have everlasting life – so that whosoever will “behold the Man” – will live. Sunday reminds us of Your love for us, providing little sanctuaries among the days. We thank You for Sunday because it keeps the memory of our Savior's victory over death alive in our hearts. It tells us that we have a living Savior, who lives to be our Friend, Companion, and Guide! We also thank You for all the Sundays that have been part of our lives. daily devotion for April 26th The End Of The Old Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark. Genesis 7:23 What a striking thing, the extent of the judgment of the flood! Many today raise the question, Was the flood universal? It is very difficult to answer that. But one thing is certainly clear: The flood destroyed the civilization of that day. The world of that time, says Peter (2 Peter 3:6), was deluged and destroyed. The civilization of that day came to an abrupt and sudden end. The Scripture warns throughout its whole extent of the suddenness of God's judgment. Every day bears testimony to the suddenness with which death can strike in individual lives. The fabric of our society can grow so rotten it can no longer support itself. Like a sail in a tempest, a tear appears that rapidly rips open, and soon the whole thing is in tatters. A total collapse follows once the process begins. That is the lesson of the flood. It is clear from this that the great and fateful questions of faith are addressed to us privately and almost inaudibly. Seldom does God confront us with dramatic moments of decision. These people before the flood surely would have wished that the thunder would have rolled a week ahead. That would have tipped them off. But the skies are clear, and Noah is shut into the ark while there is no physical sign of impending judgment. They are shut up to believing or disbelieving the offer God made them through Noah. Do you take that seriously? You may die tomorrow. The great question of Scripture is that if life is that uncertain, why not live now? Not in the empty death of the world's delirium, but in the full swing of the Spirit's power, knowing that all that is truly vital is kept safe in the ark of Jesus Christ—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time, says the apostle Peter (1 Peter 1:4b-5). Thank You for this day, Lord. May I live this day knowing that it is a gift and that at any time You could choose to take me home.
