A HEARTFELT APPEAL TO PARTNERS AND KINGDOM FRIENDS

Dear friends and family,

For a long time, one burden has remained strong in my heart: to help believers experience a real, living, daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit. This burden gave birth to my new book, The Communion of the Holy Spirit: Deepening Your Fellowship with the Third Person of the Trinity.

As I prayed while writing this book, one thought continued to stir my heart: What about those who sincerely desire spiritual growth but cannot afford access to materials like this?

Many believers are hungry for truth. Many are longing for a deeper walk with God. Many are searching for clarity, direction, intimacy with the Holy Spirit, and a stronger prayer life. Yet for some, even the cost of a book can be a challenge.

This is where I humbly invite you to partner with me.

If you feel led in your heart to sponsor free copies of this book so that more people can receive this message free of charge, I will deeply appreciate your support. Your seed will help place this message into the hands of people who may never have had the opportunity otherwise.

Each sponsored copy costs ₦3,000 only. This covers printing and other publication costs.

To sponsor copies, please sow to:

  • Many believers understand righteousness comes through faith, but they live as though it comes through performance, feeling righteous after a good week and unrighteous after a bad one.

Romans 5:17 calls it "the gift of righteousness." A gift is received, not earned, and you hold on to a gift by continuing to receive it through faith, not by performing well enough to deserve it.

You live right because you already are righteous, not in order to become righteous. Proverbs 28:1 says the righteous are as bold as a lion. That boldness is the fruit of knowing who you are.

  • John calls Jesus “the Word.” In the original Greek, this is the word “Logos.” In the Greek-speaking world of John's time, this was a rich and loaded term.

Greek philosophers had been talking about the Logos for centuries. For them, the Logos was the rational principle that gave order and structure to the universe. It was the divine reason behind all of creation.

The Stoic philosophers, in particular, believed that the Logos was the governing intelligence of all reality.

Jewish thinkers of the same period had also developed a rich theology of the Word.

In the Hebrew Scriptures, the Word of God was powerful and creative. “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made” (Psalm 33:6).

The Word of the Lord came to the prophets and set the course of history. The Word of God was not merely speech. It was divine energy, divine authority, divine action.

When John said, “In the beginning was the Word,” he was speaking into both of those traditions.

He is saying to the Greek world: the Logos you have been searching for has a name and a face. He is saying to the Jewish world: the Word that created the heavens and came to the prophets has now become flesh.

But John goes beyond both traditions. He does not describe the Logos as an impersonal principle or an abstract force. He describes the Logos as a Person who “was with God.”

A Person who had a relationship with God. A Person who became flesh. A Person who can be seen and touched and known.

  • You Were Chosen Before You Ever Chose Him

Can I share something with you that changed the way I see my whole walk with God?

Before you ever said yes to Jesus, He had already said yes to you. Long before you knew His name, He already knew yours.

    Ephesians 1:4 says it plainly.
“Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.”

Before the foundation of the world. Not after you cleaned up your life. Not after you proved yourself faithful. Before you existed, before sin ever entered the story, God had already chosen you in Christ.

This matters because it changes the reason behind everything else we've been talking about in this series. When Paul later tells us to walk worthy of our calling, he is not asking us to perform well enough to earn a calling we don't yet have. He is asking us to walk in a way that matches a calling that was settled before time began.

So if you've ever wondered whether you were an afterthought, a backup plan, or a name added to the list once you finally got your act together, I want to put that thought to rest. You were chosen first. Grace moved first. Love moved first. Your response was always going to be a response, never the reason.

This is why the gospel is genuinely good news and not just good advice. Good advice tells you what to do to become acceptable. The gospel tells you that you were already accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6), and now you get to live from that acceptance rather than for it.

So today, rest in this. You did not find God first. He found you first, chose you first, and loved you first. Everything you do from here is simply your response to a love that already had your name on it before the world began.

  • Walking in Consistency with Your Calling in Christ

Can I be honest with you for a moment? One of the most overlooked verses in the New Testament is one that quietly carries the weight of the entire Christian life.

    Paul writes in Ephesians 4:1:

"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called."

Notice the word "therefore." Paul doesn't just drop this instruction out of nowhere. He spends the first three chapters of Ephesians laying out everything God has already done for you in Christ. Chosen before the foundation of the world. Adopted as a son or daughter. Redeemed through His blood. Seated with Christ in heavenly places. Made alive together with Him. That's who you already are.

So when he says "therefore, walk worthy," he's not asking you to earn any of that. He's asking you to live in a way that actually matches it. In other words, let your daily life catch up to your true identity.

That naturally raises the question, what does that walk actually look like? Paul doesn't leave us guessing. In the very next verses, he describes it plainly, "with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love" (Ephesians 4:2). So walking worthy isn't about achieving some impressive spiritual status. It's about humility, patience, and love, especially toward the people who are hardest to love.

And this connects directly to something else Paul says just a chapter later, "Walk as children of light" (Ephesians 5:8). Before Christ, you were darkness. Now, you're not just someone who has light. You are light in the Lord. So the walk isn't about trying to become something you're not. It's about letting who you already are in Christ shine through in how you act, speak, and treat people.

This is exactly why Paul also tells us in Colossians 1:10 to "walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work." Your calling was never meant to stay in the realm of theology. It was meant to show up in your marriage, your workplace, your friendships, your private decisions when nobody's watching.

Which brings me to the most important part. This walk isn't something you white-knuckle through in your own strength. Philippians 2:13 reminds us that it is God Himself who works in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure. So as you walk worthy, you're not performing for God. You're cooperating with what He's already doing inside you.

So here's my question for you today. Does your everyday life reflect the calling God has placed on you? Not perfectly, none of us are there yet, but consistently, intentionally, growing?

You didn't just get a new title when you came to Christ. You got a new identity. And now, you get to walk it out, one faithful step, one humble choice, one Christlike response at a time.

Walk worthy of your new life in Christ. You were called for this.

  • Forgiveness for Your Failings
There is a particular kind of weight that only a believer who loves God can carry. It is not the weight of an unbeliever who has never known grace. It is the weight of someone who has tasted the goodness of God, who has walked with Him, who has known the sweetness of His presence, and then failed Him again. If that describes you right now, I want you to know that this article was written with you in mind.

Maybe you gave in to a temptation you thought you had already conquered. Maybe you spoke words you cannot take back, or made a choice you are ashamed to even name in prayer. Maybe the failure feels too recent, too repeated, or too personal to bring before God.

So instead of running to Him, you have been quietly avoiding Him, carrying the guilt alone, wondering if grace still has your name on it.

I want to settle that question for you from the Word of God. It does.

When you first came to Christ, you did not clean yourself up before He accepted you. You came broken, guilty, and undone, and the blood of Jesus was sufficient to wash away every sin you had ever committed. That is how you were saved.

Here is what many believers miss. The same blood that saved you is the same blood that continues to keep you. Your failure after salvation does not require a different sacrifice than the one that secured your salvation in the first place.

Hebrews 10:14 tells us that by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. One offering. Not a first offering to save you and then an ongoing performance to keep you saved. One offering, continually sufficient, for every day you will ever live as a believer.

This means the failure you are carrying right now is not too much for the cross. The cross already accounted for it. Christ did not die only for your past sins before conversion. He died for every sin, past, present, and future, and offered Himself once for all (Hebrews 9:26 to 28).

One of the enemy's favorite lies is to convince believers that God's patience has limits, that grace was available at salvation but now must be earned back through good behavior. This is not the gospel. This is a subtle return to works, dressed up in religious language.

Philippians 1:6 tells us that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Your standing with God does not depend on your consistency. It depends on Christ's finished work and God's faithfulness to complete what He started in you.

Romans 11:29 says the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. God does not take back what He has freely given because you had a bad week, a bad month, or a season of repeated failure.

This is not a license to sin carelessly. It is the very thing that empowers you to stop sinning, because shame never produced holiness in anyone. It is the kindness of God that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4), not the fear of losing His love.

So what do you do practically when you fail as a believer? You do not need a complicated formula. You need faith in what Christ has already done.

First, come to God honestly. 1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Confession is not informing God of something He does not know. It is agreeing with Him about what happened and receiving what He has already made available through the blood of Jesus.

Second, receive forgiveness by faith, not by feeling. You may still feel guilty even after confessing. That feeling is not evidence that you are unforgiven. It is often just the residue of shame trying to keep its grip on you. Faith says what God says is true whether you feel it yet or not. His word declares you forgiven. Stand there.

Third, refuse to let your failure define your identity. You are not "a failure." You are a forgiven child of God who failed, and those are two very different realities. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new.

Your identity was never built on your performance. It was built on Christ's righteousness given to you as a gift (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Hebrews 7:25 gives us one of the most comforting promises in all of Scripture. It says that Jesus is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

To the uttermost means to the fullest extent, to the very end, holding nothing back. Jesus did not save you partway and leave the rest up to your willpower. He is actively interceding for you right now, even in this moment of struggle, because He is not surprised by your weakness and He has not changed His mind about you.

If you have fallen, get back up, not in your own strength, but by leaning again on the finished work of Christ. He has not moved. He has not changed His posture toward you. The same grace that received you the day you were saved is the same grace waiting to receive you today.

You do not have to earn your way back into His favor. You never left it. Come to Him, honestly acknowledge what happened, receive His forgiveness by faith, and walk forward, not in shame, but in the confidence of a child who knows their Father's love was never dependent on their perfection in the first place.

  • One of the earliest heresies the church had to fight was a teaching called Docetism.

The word comes from the Greek word “dokein,” meaning “to seem” or “to appear.” The Docetists taught that Jesus only appeared to be human. He was God, they said, and God cannot truly suffer or die. So His human body was just an illusion, a spiritual appearance that looked human but was not really human.

The New Testament dismantles this teaching completely. The evidence for Jesus' genuine humanity is not theoretical. It is biographical. It is written in sweat and tears and hunger and sleep.

  • Beloved, I did not sit down to write this book because my hands were idle. I sat down because I have seen a hunger in the hearts of God's people, a hunger that is not being fed.

Week after week I stand before a congregation and open my mouth to preach. Week after week I travel from place to place, ministering wherever the Lord sends me. And in all of it, I keep running into the same wall. People know the name of Jesus. They sing about Him on Sunday. They call on Him in prayer. But when the storm rises, when the enemy comes in like a flood, something painful is exposed: many believers are fighting with a name they have never understood, representing a Person they have never truly known.

You remember the sons of Sceva in the book of Acts. They heard Paul preach about Jesus. They picked up the name the way you might pick up a formula. They thought the name alone would do the work. But the evil spirit looked at them and said, in effect, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?" And that spirit turned on them, beat them, and sent them running out of that house naked and bleeding. Their problem was never that the name of Jesus lacked power. Their problem was that they did not know Him. They had a name without a relationship. Religion without revelation.

That story will not let me rest, because it is not locked away in the first century. I see it walked out in church pews and altar calls every single day.

This book is my attempt, by God's grace, to change that in you. I am taking you beyond the name and into the Person. I am taking you from knowing about Jesus to knowing Jesus, until the Jesus of the Gospels, the Jesus who walks through the book of Acts, the Jesus who stands glorified in Revelation, becomes so real to you that your life is never the same again.

I need you to understand what this book is not. It is not a theological textbook, though you will find sound doctrine on every page. It is not an academic exercise, though your mind will be stretched. This is a pastoral letter. It comes from a man who has spent more than a decade in the pulpit, weeping at altars, praying through long nights, watching a truly known Jesus transform lives that nothing else could touch.

I have built this book around three great questions. Who is Jesus in His divine nature? What does His name mean, and what does it carry? What has He done, and what is He still doing? Answer these from Scripture, receive them by faith, and your life will never look the same.

So read slowly, friend. Keep your Bible open beside these pages. Give the Holy Spirit room to speak to your heart as you go. And by the time you turn the last page, I am persuaded you will not merely know about Him. You will know Him.

This is Jesus. This is who He is. This is what He has done. And this is who He longs to be in your life, starting today.

To Him alone be all the glory.

  • You Don't Have to Do It Alone

Here is something that will completely change the way you think about holiness and Christian living.

Think about a house for a moment. The responsibility of keeping that house clean does not fall on the house itself. It falls on the occupant. In the same way, the responsibility of keeping a child of God does not fall on the believer. It falls on God.

You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. And the One who lives inside you is the One who keeps you holy. That is not your job. That is His.

This is the beauty of God's grace at work.

Holiness is not something you manufacture through your own strength or willpower. It is the work of the Holy Spirit inside you. Not by power, not by might, but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

Now here is where many believers get it wrong. They try to produce the fruit first, hoping God will then show up and bless their effort. But that is backwards. The Holy Spirit is already at work in you. Your walk in righteousness flows out of that inward work, not the other way around.

Paul put it plainly in Philippians 2:13: "For it is God who is at work in you, producing the desire to will and do His good pleasure."

God is already working. Your response to that work is what produces visible fruit in your life.

You work because the Holy Spirit is at work in you. Not so He will start working. He already has.

This is what we call partnership with the Holy Spirit. And it is a two-way walk. You cannot produce these fruits without Him, and He will not produce them without your willing cooperation. This is not a passive arrangement. It is an active, living, daily fellowship.

It starts by discovering who you truly are in Christ. When you know your identity and your standing before God, you stop straining and start resting. You begin to walk in dependence on the Holy Spirit, and that dependence produces everything God wants to see in your life.

Stop trying to do in your own strength what only the Spirit of God can do through you.

Learn to walk with Him. Fellowship with Him. Respond to His leading. That is where the real transformation happens.

Not by might. Not by power. But by His Spirit.
