• Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    SUNDAY AUGUST 2, 2O26.
    "TAKE THE PLUNGE (2)"

    ‘…Underneath are the everlasting arms...’ Deuteronomy 33:27 NKJV

    PICTURE THIS: A father and his two small children are playing. He’s in the swimming pool, and he invites them to run and jump into his arms. One does, the other doesn’t. The one who doesn’t, watches gleefully, applauds, and jumps up and down. But when her dad invites her to do the same she shakes her head and backs away. Is that you? Living on the edge of the pool, never taking the plunge, happy to experience life vicariously through others? Preferring to take no risk, rather than any risk? For fear of the worst, you never enjoy the best. You say, ‘But I’m not sure what I’m jumping into!’ Read this: ‘Underneath are the everlasting arms.’ Foolishness is closing your eyes and jumping before you know there’s even water in the pool, or that your father has said, ‘Come, I’ll catch you.’ Faith is knowing that the only way to conquer your fear of the water is to take the leap, because the One who is calling you has been there for you from the moment you became His child. Nothing is more important to Him than your safety, the development of your faith, and your total success in life. God told Joshua, ‘…arise, go over this Jordan…to the land which I am giving Eunice Gankpe …Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go’ (Joshua 1:2, 7 NKJV). Note the words, ‘Arise, go, be strong.’ In other words: take the plunge!

    ```TEXT:JOHN 15:1-5```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing" (JOHN 15:5).*_

    *Humanity has witnessed incredible feats over the centuries, especially in the fields of science and technology. While these developments have improved the standard of living across the world, it has equally fuelled or, at most, reinforced atheistic and contemptuous dispositions of despisers of God. Some folks, indeed, think that God should completely stay away from the affairs of earthlings. They can boast of transgender surgery that changes sex identity at birth to something that God did not intend, all in an attempt to part ways with Him. Unknown to such warped minds, they are only trying to deform or alter what God has created. The effective way of parting ways with God would have been to create their own man or woman before meddling with their features, but not from the dust of the soil which He created. This is simply impossible!*

    *Our Lord Jesus Christ was unequivocal about man's grave inability to exist or function without Him. Just as man and his habitat could not have come into existence without Him, so we should always lean on Him, not only for sustenance, but also for survival. We live at the pleasure of God. Our breath comes from Him. Nature, through its atmosphere, land, vegetation, oceans, and rivers, from which we draw what we consume in food, manufacturing, and industry, belongs to Him. The feeble man is humiliatingly overwhelmed by his Creator.*

    *Thus helplessly exposed, man must not be arrogant or presumptuous because of any inventions, whose feats and contraptions are toys as they stand in contrast to the great galactic formations overlooking our planet. We must revere the One Who brought them forth. It's contemptuous to contemn Him by telling Him we have had enough of Him, and that we can take care of ourselves.*

    *Everyone needs God and His unfailing love and laws more than ever before to deliver them from the trap and deadly consequences of sin. We need more of Christ's presence to dominate our souls, government structures, homes, schools, public places, and worship centres. We need His peace in a troubled world on the brink of collapse. We need Him also to usher us into the hereafter of eternal joy.*

    *The burning bush symbolises the condition of the children of Israel in Egypt. God appeared to Moses miraculously to draw his attention to the suffering of His people in the hands of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.*

    *Moses turned aside to see the burning bush, and God spoke to him about the affliction of His people and sent him to deliver them from Egypt. Sinning youths are expected to turn to God for their salvation without delay.*

    *Believers are expected to respond to the call of God to reach out to sinners around them. Jesus has commanded all believers to go into all parts of the world to preach the gospel to every creature. The big question is: Are there youths who are ready to turn aside like Moses did to hear the call of God?*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham" (John 8:39).*_
    Has someone ever told you that you resemble one of your parents? That can only happen if that person has known your parents before. However, that remark may only be true about your physical appearance, but not in your conduct.
    There are some children, of course, whose physical appearance and conduct are entirely different from those of their parents. That means, good and godly parents can produce bad and wicked children, like the case of Eli and his sons.
    Jesus knows who Abraham was (John 8:58). The Lord said He could not see any part of the character of the children of Israel that resembled that of Abraham they claimed to be their father. How could they claim to be children of Abraham who feared, obeyed and loved God, and yet go against the way and the will of God? Jesus concluded that they were children of the devil and not of Abraham (John 8:44).
    One's behaviour betrays him or her. No one can hate Christ, disobey His word, reject Him as Saviour and even want to kill Him, and claim to be a child of God. There are many people who use religion as a cover-up to hate and reject Christ. That is because they do not know the true God at all.
    *Are you one of those children who say they are children of God, friends of Jesus, but their behaviours are sinful and ungodly? It is only through your Christ-like and righteous life that others can know whether you are a true friend of Jesus or not.*
    *ABIDING IN CHRIST: THE SECRET OF A FRUITFUL LIFE*
    *TEXT:* JOHN 15:1–5
    1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
    2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
    3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
    4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
    5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
    *TimelessTruth:*
    _Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord._ (1 Corinthians 15:58).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    George Washington Carver (1864–1943), the renowned agricultural scientist and devoted Christian, transformed farming in the southern United States by encouraging crop rotation and better soil management. He often spent time in prayer before beginning his research, believing that wisdom came from God. Carver once remarked, "I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour." One of the lessons farmers understand is that a branch separated from the vine cannot bear fruit, regardless of how healthy it once appeared. Its life depends entirely upon its connection to the vine. The branch does not struggle to produce fruit; it simply remains connected, and the life of the vine flows through it.
    Jesus used this familiar agricultural picture in John 15 to teach one of the greatest truths of the Christian life: fruitfulness is the result of abiding in Him. *"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.*
    ( Jeremiah 17:7–8)
    Our effectiveness in Christian living does not depend upon our talents, education or strength, but upon our continual fellowship with Christ.
    His followers, are not merely to admire the Vine, but to abide in it. The Christian life is not sustained by occasional moments of devotion, but by a continual relationship with Christ. The branch has no independent life. Its strength, nourishment and fruitfulness all come from the vine. Likewise, believers flourish only as they remain connected to Jesus through faith, obedience, prayer and His Word.
    This passage challenges us to examine our lives:
    Are we merely attached to Christ outwardly or are we truly abiding in Him?
    Are we busy with religious activity while neglecting personal fellowship with the Saviour?
    Is the fruit of the Spirit becoming increasingly evident in our character and conduct?
    God is more concerned with fruitfulness than mere busyness. A fruitful life glorifies Him, blesses others and bears lasting eternal value. When difficulties come, remember that the Father's pruning is not punishment, but preparation. He lovingly removes what hinders growth so that we may bear more fruit. May we daily abide in Christ, depend upon His strength and allow His life to be seen through ours.
    *1. The Source of Fruitfulness*
    a. Jesus identifies Himself as the True Vine and His Father as the Vinedresser.
    Jesus alone is the true source of spiritual life and lasting fruit. The Father lovingly removes unfruitful branches and prunes fruitful ones to increase their productivity.
    b. God's purpose is not merely that believers exist, but that they bear much fruit for His glory. God desires every believer to grow spiritually. His discipline and pruning are expressions of His love, preparing us for greater usefulness.
    *Questions*
    Am I allowing God to remove attitudes, habits or priorities that hinder my spiritual growth? Is my life producing spiritual fruit that brings glory to God?
    *2. The Secret of Fellowship*
    a. Jesus calls His disciples to remain in Him continually.
    The disciples had been made clean through Christ's teaching. Abiding is a daily, deliberate choice to remain in close fellowship with Christ.
    *Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving*
    (Colossians 4:2).
    b. Spiritual life flourishes through constant dependence upon Jesus. A fruitful Christian life is maintained by regular prayer, Bible study, worship and obedience.
    *Questions*
    What practical habits help me remain closely connected with Christ each day. Am I spending time with Christ consistently or only when difficulties arise?*
    *3. The Strength of Dependence*
    a.Jesus declares that apart from Him, believers can do nothing of eternal value. Every ability for effective Christian living comes from Christ.
    Apostle Paul declared: *“I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)* Fruitfulness begins when believers surrender completely to Christ's leadership.
    b. Those who abide in Christ bear much fruit because His life flows through them.
    Lasting spiritual success is not achieved through self-effort, but through continual dependence upon Christ.
    *Questions*
    Am I relying on my own strength or on Christ's power in my daily life and ministry? Can others see evidence of Christ's life and character in me?
    *Prayer Points*
    1. Lord Jesus, help me to abide in You daily through prayer, obedience and Your Word.
    2. Father, produce in my life the fruit of the Holy Spirit that glorifies Your name.
    3. Lord, give me grace to accept Your loving discipline so that I may become more useful in Your service.
    4. Heavenly Father, keep me from relying on my own strength and teach me to depend entirely upon Christ.
    *Hymn:* I am Thine Oh Lord.
    *THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 4-5.
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ⏤ Psalm 118:24
    The soul needs Sabbath to rest and recharge. ⏤ Wesley L. Duewel
    O God, we thank You for this holy Sunday. It is Your day, honored and made sacred by You from the beginning. It was made even more holy by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is full of holy hopes as it reminds us of the eternal rest in Heaven. We thank You for all that this day means to us in our personal lives and for the blessings it has brought to our home. We thank You for its quiet rest, that we can cease from our weekday toil and spend the day with You.
    May You make this a day of real blessing to us. May Heaven’s windows be opened, and may holy blessings be poured upon us. Bless our home life today. May we grow closer together as a family. May our affection be sweetened. Fill our hearts with Your love—then we will love each other as we should. Bless our home conversation. May it be beneficial to us, ministering grace to our hearts, and may it be worthy of the day. Help us to shut out of our lives anything that is worldly or unworthy of You. May Your Spirit fill our home, bringing gentle, enriching influences.
    Bless our worship in Your house. Go with us and help us to honor You in the public services. Open our eyes to see wonderful things in Your word. Sanctify the worship and instruction we receive in the sanctuary. May we be so blessed in our hearts by waiting on You that we will be ready for good service all week.
    Help us also to be a blessing to others today. Fill us with Your Spirit so that every life that touches ours will receive a blessing from us.
    We ask all these Sunday blessings from Your hand, humbly, faithfully, and joyfully, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Are we busy with religious activity while neglecting personal fellowship with the Saviour? Is the fruit of the Spirit becoming increasingly evident in our character and conduct? God is more concerned with fruitfulness than mere busyness. A fruitful life glorifies Him, blesses others and bears lasting eternal value. When difficulties come, remember that the Father's pruning is not punishment, but preparation. He lovingly removes what hinders growth so that we may bear more fruit. May we daily abide in Christ, depend upon His strength and allow His life to be seen through ours. *1. The Source of Fruitfulness* a. Jesus identifies Himself as the True Vine and His Father as the Vinedresser. Jesus alone is the true source of spiritual life and lasting fruit. The Father lovingly removes unfruitful branches and prunes fruitful ones to increase their productivity. b. God's purpose is not merely that believers exist, but that they bear much fruit for His glory. God desires every believer to grow spiritually. His discipline and pruning are expressions of His love, preparing us for greater usefulness. *Questions* Am I allowing God to remove attitudes, habits or priorities that hinder my spiritual growth? Is my life producing spiritual fruit that brings glory to God? *2. The Secret of Fellowship* a. Jesus calls His disciples to remain in Him continually. The disciples had been made clean through Christ's teaching. Abiding is a daily, deliberate choice to remain in close fellowship with Christ. *Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving* (Colossians 4:2). b. Spiritual life flourishes through constant dependence upon Jesus. A fruitful Christian life is maintained by regular prayer, Bible study, worship and obedience. *Questions* What practical habits help me remain closely connected with Christ each day. Am I spending time with Christ consistently or only when difficulties arise?* *3. The Strength of Dependence* a.Jesus declares that apart from Him, believers can do nothing of eternal value. Every ability for effective Christian living comes from Christ. Apostle Paul declared: *“I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)* Fruitfulness begins when believers surrender completely to Christ's leadership. b. Those who abide in Christ bear much fruit because His life flows through them. Lasting spiritual success is not achieved through self-effort, but through continual dependence upon Christ. *Questions* Am I relying on my own strength or on Christ's power in my daily life and ministry? Can others see evidence of Christ's life and character in me? *Prayer Points* 1. Lord Jesus, help me to abide in You daily through prayer, obedience and Your Word.🙏 2. Father, produce in my life the fruit of the Holy Spirit that glorifies Your name.🙏 3. Lord, give me grace to accept Your loving discipline so that I may become more useful in Your service.🙏 4. Heavenly Father, keep me from relying on my own strength and teach me to depend entirely upon Christ.🙏 *Hymn:* I am Thine Oh Lord. *THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 4-5. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. ⏤ Psalm 118:24 The soul needs Sabbath to rest and recharge. ⏤ Wesley L. Duewel O God, we thank You for this holy Sunday. It is Your day, honored and made sacred by You from the beginning. It was made even more holy by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is full of holy hopes as it reminds us of the eternal rest in Heaven. We thank You for all that this day means to us in our personal lives and for the blessings it has brought to our home. We thank You for its quiet rest, that we can cease from our weekday toil and spend the day with You. May You make this a day of real blessing to us. May Heaven’s windows be opened, and may holy blessings be poured upon us. Bless our home life today. May we grow closer together as a family. May our affection be sweetened. Fill our hearts with Your love—then we will love each other as we should. Bless our home conversation. May it be beneficial to us, ministering grace to our hearts, and may it be worthy of the day. Help us to shut out of our lives anything that is worldly or unworthy of You. May Your Spirit fill our home, bringing gentle, enriching influences. Bless our worship in Your house. Go with us and help us to honor You in the public services. Open our eyes to see wonderful things in Your word. Sanctify the worship and instruction we receive in the sanctuary. May we be so blessed in our hearts by waiting on You that we will be ready for good service all week. Help us also to be a blessing to others today. Fill us with Your Spirit so that every life that touches ours will receive a blessing from us. We ask all these Sunday blessings from Your hand, humbly, faithfully, and joyfully, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/28/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
    All That Is Mine Is Yours
    He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.
    John 16:14
    Sometimes when you listen to Bible teachers today, you get the idea that there is to be a kind of Jesus-oriented Bible teaching with which we begin the Christian life but that as we mature we are to move on to Spirit-oriented truth, to recognize that the sign of maturity is to be concerned no longer with Jesus but with the Spirit. Nothing could be further from the truth! The work of the Spirit is to glorify Jesus. The Spirit-filled life is the life in which Jesus is central. And the one who matures is the one who grows deeper in an understanding of Jesus.
    How encompassing is this range of teaching? All, Jesus tells us. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you (John 16:15).
    A young man asked me the other day, Is it right for a Christian to study secular subjects that have nothing to do with the Bible?
    My answer was, Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 3, All things are yours, and you are of Christ; and Christ is of God (1 Corinthians 3:21-23). And Paul, speaking of Jesus Christ, tells us in Colossians 2, In him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossian 2:3). As you investigate any realm of science or knowledge, if you do so in reliance upon the indwelling life of Jesus and the teaching of the Spirit of God, He will open that branch of truth to you.
    George Washington Carver was born a slave, but he managed to get an education as a scientist. He said that the hunger of his heart was to discover the secrets of the universe. But, he said, God said to me, George, that's too big for you. I've got something more your size. You take a peanut and work on that. And so he began to investigate what God has hidden in a peanut. He found over 330 different products that could be made from the peanut, revolutionizing the technology of his day. But he always remained a simple, Bible-believing servant of God who relied upon Him to open his mind to truth. That is what Jesus means. All that belongs to the Father is mine, and it will be made available to you through the Spirit.
    Lord, thank You that You would share with me all that the Father has. Teach me to listen to what Your Spirit is saying to me through Your Word.
  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    THURSDAY JULY 23, 2026.
    "DON'T LOSE YOUR COMPASSIONATE EDGE (2)"
    '…When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them…’ Matthew 9:36 NKJV
    CHRIST’S CONCERN for a hurting world revealed itself in two ways: condemnation towards those who took advantage of others and compassion towards those who couldn’t help themselves. One time He took a whip and threw the money changers out of the temple; another time He healed the sick and fed the hungry. There’s a lesson here: you can become complacent and say, ‘I know there’s trouble in the world. It’s regrettable. But as long as it doesn’t touch me personally, I’d prefer not to think about it. Cheating goes on every day in business and politics. That’s just the way things are.’ Like the priest and the Levite in the story of the Good Samaritan, you ‘pass by on the other side’ (Luke 10:30-36). The sad fact is that even churches that faithfully preach the Word and win souls (two all-important missions) fail in this area. Why? Because they’re afraid of being identified with those who promote a ‘social gospel’. But the opposite should concern us! ‘If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity…how can the love of God be in him?…Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth’ (1John 3:17-18 NIV). What moves you? Success in business? Building a great family? Excelling in ministry? Those are worthy goals, but if you want to know what moved Christ, read this: ‘When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion.’ So don’t lose your compassionate edge.
    *Frederick Brotherton Meyer, a Baptist pastor and evangelist in England, contemporary and friend of D. L. Moody, observed that "Consecration is only possible when we give up our will about EVERYTHING." This may explain why most professing Christians shy away from true consecration. For some others, consecration should be moderated in such a manner as not to exceed the boundary set by "common sense".*
    *Abraham, as seen in today's text, demonstrated a high level of consecration. To a normal person, God's command to him to offer his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice to him was an invitation to eternal sorrow. But Abraham's love for and devotion to God were more than skin deep. It was such a commitment that was not hinged on any material benefit. The Lord's demand was explicit: "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest... and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of..." Isaac was an only son whose name meant _laughter,_ a child of promise and therefore very beloved to his parents. Yet Abraham was willing to sacrifice him to God.*
    *By that act, Abraham's obedience and faith were only being put to the test. He was willing to part with his highest love and hope on earth... to even go on a three-day journey to obey God's extraordinary command. He was moved neither by Isaac's affecting remark nor the thought of how others would react to him. Satisfied that Abraham's devotion to Him was no half measure, God intervened and prevented him from sacrificing Isaac. A lamb was divinely provided in his stead, a pointer to the Lord Jesus Christ, the "Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world".*
    *As you reflect on all these, consider how you will fare in God's test of obedience and faith. If the Lord today requires your _Isaac_ - whatever constitutes your greatest joy on earth - will you be willing to part with it for God's sake? How much do you love God? Do social and material pursuits stand between you and God? Are you willing to place your prestige on the altar for the Lord? The test is ongoing. Will you pass it?*
    *George Washington Carver wisely said, "There is no shortcut to achievement. Life requires thorough preparation, veneer isn't worth anything." Similarly, Thomas Edison reminds us, "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration."*
    *Proverbs 10:4 tells us, "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich." This powerful verse reminds us that diligence in our work leads to rewards, while laziness brings failure. As youths, we often face the temptation to seek shortcuts or to delay our efforts, but the Bible teaches us that true success comes from being faithful and diligent in whatever we do.*
    *Diligence means consistently putting in effort, being disciplined, and staying focused even when the results are not immediate. This teaches us that hard work during the right seasons brings success, while neglecting opportunities leads to regret. Let us be diligent in our studies and daily tasks. When we invest in smart work, we will see the fruit of our labour in time. God honours diligence and rewards those who are faithful in their efforts.*
    A story was told of a girl called Queen. Queen worked very hard and brought many awards to her family. She was already on Government Scholarship in high school. There, she was selected to represent her state in the National Mathematics Competition. Queen won the competition to the admiration of everyone, including her fellow competitors. The State Government raised a podium and set Queen on it, for everybody present to file past to salute the queen.
    God has promised to bless and honour His children who are obedient to Him. How can it be that the One we are commanded to respect and honour now promises to honour us - His creatures? There is nothing God cannot do for a child whose life pleases Him. That was His promise to Israel and to anyone that does His will. That honour manifested in God making Israel fruitful, established and secured.
    *You must do everything to gain the honour, respect, blessing, favour, goodness and mercy of God. Joseph was one child that was respected and honoured. God even caused the king, all Egyptians, the surrounding nations, his father and his brothers to respect and honour him. Your godly and righteous conduct at home, school and in the church will bring divine honour, promotion and respect to you.*
    *TEST OF PERFECT LOVE FOR GOD*
    *TEXT:* GENESIS 22:1-11.
    1And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
    2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
    3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
    4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
    5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
    6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
    7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
    8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
    9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
    10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
    11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment"_ (Mark 12:30).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    God demands perfect love from the saints just as He had demonstrated His perfect love for man. He requested Abraham to *"walk before me and be thou perfect"* (Genesis 17:1). Jesus also emphasised that the first commandment, broadly speaking, has to do with perfect love for God (Mark 12:30). It is easier for man to profess love for someone without actually, having or demonstrating that love. Great blessings of God, especially those that are earned and not just unmerited, are based on our love for God. True love for God, beyond mere mouth profession, must be tested by God to ascertain its genuineness. It is necessary for man so that man will see himself the way God sees him and not his mere mouth profession. Abraham, did not just profess love for God, He actually, manifested it and great generational blessings followed.
    *1. Costly Test: Futuristic Significance*
    a. Abraham had passed through many things that demanded great sacrifices for God. It started with God asking him to leave his country to a strange land that he had never been to. At a point, he had to also separate from his nephew, Lot that he loved so much. The climax of the sacrifice that God expected from him was the sacrifice of his only promised son. It was a test of his professed perfect love for God. The greater the divine blessings coming the way of anyone, the more severe and demanding is the test of love for God that must be passed. Don't be worried about the trials of faith and divine demands, focus on the blessings, both temporal and eternal, that await you.
    b. *"And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt (or test) Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am"*. Abraham was always available to God without giving any excuse at any time. To him, God is first and every other engagement is secondary. Can you think of what God asked Abraham to do? First, Abraham understood that it was God speaking and not a stranger. Believers should be well groomed in the Bible and in hearing from God that they can discern the voice of God from other voices. *"And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah"*. The divine emphasis was to help Abraham to see the gravity of the sacrifice so that he would be able to make an informed and not just sentimental or emotional decision. *"And offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of"*. Abraham, from his first encounter with God knew that if God would tell him to go anywhere, he would not tell him the exact place as at the first. When he was called to leave his country, he was just told to take off to a land he would show him. God repeated this same mode here. Always watch for the way God uses to lead you. It may not be the same way He leads others. Did Abraham know that it was a test? The context does not show that. This is how man's test is different from that of God. In most cases, when a divine test comes unannounced, the tested will not know that it is a test from God. However, it is a test of his love for God and faith in God.
    *Question*
    How is this a test of his faith and a test of his love for God?
    *2. Courageous Triumph: Faith Sacrifice*
    a. Human sacrifice was condemned by God and that was one of the reasons the land of Canaan was overthrown. Interestingly, Abraham counted himself too small to question God since he had no doubt that it was from God. Unquestioning and immediate obedience to God is one of the evidences of our love and faith in God. Willingness to sacrifice your most loved "Isaac" without looking back is true spirituality in action. *"Abraham rose up early in the morning..."* Obviously, he did not tell the wife and all those who could have discouraged him. He had known in his walk with God that God would never do evil but bless. He practiced the consecration of the New Testament saints where in Luke 14:26 Jesus said it is only those who can sacrifice all their relationships for Christ that can be His disciples. *"On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off"*. Three days was enough for Abraham to have a rethink, but his mind was fixed. Those who love God have a fixed mind which cannot be swayed by any relation or public opinion. Abraham also did not allow his young men to go far with him because they could also use emotions to discourage him from doing the will of God. *"And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you"*. The consecrated are not seeking human sympathy. Their song is "I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back".
    b. Abraham decided to go alone with Isaac to the place of sacrifice. Isaac was about 19+ years of age at this time. So, he could carry the wood and other things. He was intelligent enough to ask his father questions. *"And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"*. This question could force tears and emotions from Abraham, but Abraham was determined to obey God at all cost. Isaac himself had strong faith and confidence in his father and of course in his God, so he did not rebel. He behaved like Jesus who *"....he is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth"* (Isaiah 53:7).
    b. Abraham was a man of faith truly. The New Testament says that he believed God will resurrect Isaac because the promise of God for him was based on Isaac being alive (Hebrews 11: 19). Our consecration to God is a function of our faith in God. When there is strong faith in God as a faithful Rewarder now in time and eternity; when there is faith in the pronounced promises and promised eternity, consecration becomes very easy. *"And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering"*. The father exercised perfect love and faith in God while the son likewise demonstrated perfect voluntary obedience.
    *"And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son"*.
    *Question*
    Do you have the faith of Abraham and Isaac?
    *3. Compensation for the Trustworthy: Faithful Saviour*
    Abraham was totally ignorant of the purpose of the test that it was beyond him and that God wanted to use it for a generational lesson. Apart from the test of his faith and love for Him, it was meant to present a figure of the coming Son of God who voluntarily submitted Himself to sacrifice for the salvation of the whole world. It was to present the gospel in the Old Testament. He really wanted to sacrifice his son before *"the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I"*. What did Abraham lose by his uncommon consecration? Nothing. What did he gain? Revelation of the gospel and confirmation of generational blessings. No sacrifice should be too big for a true child of God. It is always a blessing in disguise. There are always reciprocal blessings when you love God purely and perfectly above all else. God will always lavish the blessings of heaven on you in return.
    *Question*
    Are you ready to fully love God perfectly and always be willing to consecrate anything God demands without questioning?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Father circumcise my heart to love You perfectly .
    2.Give me grace to be willing that nothing will be too much to consecrate to You .
    3.Give me the faith of Abraham that always looks beyond the present but focuses on Your promises .
    4.Father, Take all Your children deeper in the love of Jesus.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou Art Dialog God. ⏤ Psalm 90:1-2
    God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ⏤ Martin Luther
    Lord, You have been our dwelling place through all generations. From everlasting to everlasting, You are God. We want to make You the home of our hearts. We aren’t truly at home in this world because it isn’t secure. Everything here passes away. The mountains may crumble, and the hills may disappear. Our souls are immortal and can’t find a lasting home on this earth—no place where they will be sure of undisturbed rest forever. Only You are enduring and eternal, and only in You can our souls find a home, a refuge of love that will last forever. Help us to make our home in You.
    We thank You for our earthly home. We thank You for the love that binds us together, for the refuge we find here from the world’s hostilities. Here we can trust each other and be sure of each other’s love. Deepen our home affections. Draw us closer together as a family. Make our home life sweeter. Help us to be more supportive of each other. Teach us patience as we live together. Help us see the best in each other and give the best of our love to one another.
    May our home life today be tender and affectionate. Fill us with Your divine love so that our hearts and lips will overflow and that everything lovely will grow within us. You know our special needs, and we ask for personal blessings. Forgive us all our sins. Comfort us in our sorrows.
    Give us a blessing now as we go out into the world. May we live in such a way that we are constantly receiving from Jesus and then giving out the good things of divine love. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY THURSDAY JULY 23, 2026. "DON'T LOSE YOUR COMPASSIONATE EDGE (2)" '…When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them…’ Matthew 9:36 NKJV CHRIST’S CONCERN for a hurting world revealed itself in two ways: condemnation towards those who took advantage of others and compassion towards those who couldn’t help themselves. One time He took a whip and threw the money changers out of the temple; another time He healed the sick and fed the hungry. There’s a lesson here: you can become complacent and say, ‘I know there’s trouble in the world. It’s regrettable. But as long as it doesn’t touch me personally, I’d prefer not to think about it. Cheating goes on every day in business and politics. That’s just the way things are.’ Like the priest and the Levite in the story of the Good Samaritan, you ‘pass by on the other side’ (Luke 10:30-36). The sad fact is that even churches that faithfully preach the Word and win souls (two all-important missions) fail in this area. Why? Because they’re afraid of being identified with those who promote a ‘social gospel’. But the opposite should concern us! ‘If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity…how can the love of God be in him?…Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth’ (1John 3:17-18 NIV). What moves you? Success in business? Building a great family? Excelling in ministry? Those are worthy goals, but if you want to know what moved Christ, read this: ‘When He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion.’ So don’t lose your compassionate edge. L. Moody, observed that "Consecration is only possible when we give up our will about EVERYTHING." This may explain why most professing Christians shy away from true consecration. For some others, consecration should be moderated in such a manner as not to exceed the boundary set by "common sense".* *Abraham, as seen in today's text, demonstrated a high level of consecration. To a normal person, God's command to him to offer his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice to him was an invitation to eternal sorrow. But Abraham's love for and devotion to God were more than skin deep. It was such a commitment that was not hinged on any material benefit. The Lord's demand was explicit: "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest... and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of..." Isaac was an only son whose name meant _laughter,_ a child of promise and therefore very beloved to his parents. Yet Abraham was willing to sacrifice him to God.* *By that act, Abraham's obedience and faith were only being put to the test. He was willing to part with his highest love and hope on earth... to even go on a three-day journey to obey God's extraordinary command. He was moved neither by Isaac's affecting remark nor the thought of how others would react to him. Satisfied that Abraham's devotion to Him was no half measure, God intervened and prevented him from sacrificing Isaac. A lamb was divinely provided in his stead, a pointer to the Lord Jesus Christ, the "Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world".* *As you reflect on all these, consider how you will fare in God's test of obedience and faith. If the Lord today requires your _Isaac_ - whatever constitutes your greatest joy on earth - will you be willing to part with it for God's sake? How much do you love God? Do social and material pursuits stand between you and God? Are you willing to place your prestige on the altar for the Lord? The test is ongoing. Similarly, Thomas Edison reminds us, "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration."* *Proverbs 10:4 tells us, "He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich." This powerful verse reminds us that diligence in our work leads to rewards, while laziness brings failure. As youths, we often face the temptation to seek shortcuts or to delay our efforts, but the Bible teaches us that true success comes from being faithful and diligent in whatever we do.* *Diligence means consistently putting in effort, being disciplined, and staying focused even when the results are not immediate. This teaches us that hard work during the right seasons brings success, while neglecting opportunities leads to regret. Let us be diligent in our studies and daily tasks. When we invest in smart work, we will see the fruit of our labour in time. The State Government raised a podium and set Queen on it, for everybody present to file past to salute the queen. God has promised to bless and honour His children who are obedient to Him. How can it be that the One we are commanded to respect and honour now promises to honour us - His creatures? There is nothing God cannot do for a child whose life pleases Him. That was His promise to Israel and to anyone that does His will. That honour manifested in God making Israel fruitful, established and secured. *You must do everything to gain the honour, respect, blessing, favour, goodness and mercy of God. Joseph was one child that was respected and honoured. God even caused the king, all Egyptians, the surrounding nations, his father and his brothers to respect and honour him. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. 9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. *Timeless Truth:*_"And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment"_ (Mark 12:30). *INTRODUCTION* God demands perfect love from the saints just as He had demonstrated His perfect love for man. He requested Abraham to *"walk before me and be thou perfect"* (Genesis 17:1). Jesus also emphasised that the first commandment, broadly speaking, has to do with perfect love for God (Mark 12:30). It is easier for man to profess love for someone without actually, having or demonstrating that love. Great blessings of God, especially those that are earned and not just unmerited, are based on our love for God. True love for God, beyond mere mouth profession, must be tested by God to ascertain its genuineness. It is necessary for man so that man will see himself the way God sees him and not his mere mouth profession. Abraham, did not just profess love for God, He actually, manifested it and great generational blessings followed. *1. Costly Test: Futuristic Significance* a. Abraham had passed through many things that demanded great sacrifices for God. It started with God asking him to leave his country to a strange land that he had never been to. At a point, he had to also separate from his nephew, Lot that he loved so much. The climax of the sacrifice that God expected from him was the sacrifice of his only promised son. It was a test of his professed perfect love for God. The greater the divine blessings coming the way of anyone, the more severe and demanding is the test of love for God that must be passed. Don't be worried about the trials of faith and divine demands, focus on the blessings, both temporal and eternal, that await you. b. *"And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt (or test) Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am"*. Abraham was always available to God without giving any excuse at any time. To him, God is first and every other engagement is secondary. Can you think of what God asked Abraham to do? First, Abraham understood that it was God speaking and not a stranger. Believers should be well groomed in the Bible and in hearing from God that they can discern the voice of God from other voices. *"And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah"*. The divine emphasis was to help Abraham to see the gravity of the sacrifice so that he would be able to make an informed and not just sentimental or emotional decision. *"And offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of"*. Abraham, from his first encounter with God knew that if God would tell him to go anywhere, he would not tell him the exact place as at the first. When he was called to leave his country, he was just told to take off to a land he would show him. God repeated this same mode here. Always watch for the way God uses to lead you. It may not be the same way He leads others. Did Abraham know that it was a test? The context does not show that. This is how man's test is different from that of God. In most cases, when a divine test comes unannounced, the tested will not know that it is a test from God. However, it is a test of his love for God and faith in God. *Question* How is this a test of his faith and a test of his love for God? *2. Courageous Triumph: Faith Sacrifice* a. Human sacrifice was condemned by God and that was one of the reasons the land of Canaan was overthrown. Interestingly, Abraham counted himself too small to question God since he had no doubt that it was from God. Unquestioning and immediate obedience to God is one of the evidences of our love and faith in God. Willingness to sacrifice your most loved "Isaac" without looking back is true spirituality in action. *"Abraham rose up early in the morning..."* Obviously, he did not tell the wife and all those who could have discouraged him. He had known in his walk with God that God would never do evil but bless. He practiced the consecration of the New Testament saints where in Luke 14:26 Jesus said it is only those who can sacrifice all their relationships for Christ that can be His disciples. *"On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off"*. Three days was enough for Abraham to have a rethink, but his mind was fixed. Those who love God have a fixed mind which cannot be swayed by any relation or public opinion. Abraham also did not allow his young men to go far with him because they could also use emotions to discourage him from doing the will of God. *"And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you"*. The consecrated are not seeking human sympathy. Their song is "I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back". b. Abraham decided to go alone with Isaac to the place of sacrifice. Isaac was about 19+ years of age at this time. So, he could carry the wood and other things. He was intelligent enough to ask his father questions. *"And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?"*. This question could force tears and emotions from Abraham, but Abraham was determined to obey God at all cost. Isaac himself had strong faith and confidence in his father and of course in his God, so he did not rebel. He behaved like Jesus who *"....he is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth"* (Isaiah 53:7). b. Abraham was a man of faith truly. The New Testament says that he believed God will resurrect Isaac because the promise of God for him was based on Isaac being alive (Hebrews 11: 19). Our consecration to God is a function of our faith in God. When there is strong faith in God as a faithful Rewarder now in time and eternity; when there is faith in the pronounced promises and promised eternity, consecration becomes very easy. *"And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering"*. The father exercised perfect love and faith in God while the son likewise demonstrated perfect voluntary obedience. *"And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son"*. *Question* Do you have the faith of Abraham and Isaac? *3. Compensation for the Trustworthy: Faithful Saviour* Abraham was totally ignorant of the purpose of the test that it was beyond him and that God wanted to use it for a generational lesson. Apart from the test of his faith and love for Him, it was meant to present a figure of the coming Son of God who voluntarily submitted Himself to sacrifice for the salvation of the whole world.     A Sacred Gathering.
    July 14th, 2026
    Rallies and protest marches in Washington, D.C. have been taking place since 1893, when Fry’s Army organized a protest march by unemployed American workers. Events held at the National Mall take place between the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. In 1995, the National Park Service quit releasing crowd size estimates for Mall rallies after a controversy concerning the Million Man March.
    Over the years, there have been marches against nuclear weapons, marches to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr., repeated protests against the Vietnam War, pro-life marches, pro-choice marches, and, more recently, the March for Our Lives student-led demonstration. Turnout was estimated to be between 1.2 and 2 million people, making it the largest protest in American history.
    The Bible encourages the “assembling of ourselves together,” not for the purpose of protest, but to worship God and fellowship with one another. The early church understood and practiced coming together. “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1). When the Holy Spirit was poured out, the results were astounding. “Those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them” (v. 41).
    Another reason Christians come together is for corporate worship. It affirms our identity as believers in God who “are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
    Such gatherings not only provide encouraging opportunities for interpersonal relationships and spiritual growth, but they become a witness to the world. “Believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women” (Acts 5:14).
    What is the biggest crowd you have ever been in? Was it a sports event, a concert, a rally, or a church gathering?
  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY JULY 9, 2026.
    "THE LAW OF LOVE (2)"
    'Above all, clothe yourself with love...' Colosians 3:14 NLT
    GOD'S LOVE is the most powerful force the world has ever seen. And as a follower of Christ, it is up to you to carry the torch and keep it burning. The Bible says, ‘…Clothe yourselves with tender-hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience…Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony’ (vv. 12 & 14 NLT).     MD.ii. JESUS HAS OVERCOME THE EVIL ONE
    "This Man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put Him to death by nailing Him to the cross." - Acts 2:23
    These words from Peter mean that God the Father deliberately gave His Son into the hands of the people who killed Him. God the Father was there when they pressed a crown of thorns on His head, mocked, beat and spit on Him. After this cruel treatment, they crucified Him. You would think: God is a God of love; how can He hand over His own Son to such horrible death?
    Foreknowledge
    This has to do with information nobody else had. What was this foreknowledge? Peter gives the answer: 'But God raised Him from the dead, freeing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him' (verse 24). God knew that the death to which He had delivered His Son could not hold Him. God knew this beforehand. The evil one didn't know this and the people did not know this either. God knew that Jesus would conquer death and hell.
    We know that Jesus has risen from the dead! Before Calvary, death was an enemy of man. Death is the terrain of the evil one, because death has to do with hell, darkness and the power of the evil one. Death has to do with satan. Life has to do with Jesus.
    The Light, praise God, has conquered the darkness. The Lord Jesus went to the terrain of the evil one and took away the keys of death and hell. Death is no longer the domain of satan. Jesus conquered the power of the evil one. Jesus says in Revelation 1:17-18: 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One. I was dead, but look, I am alive forever. I have power over death and hell.'
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou Art Dialog with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. ⏤ Psalm 23:4
    A day without prayer is a day without blessing, and a life without prayer is a life without power. ⏤ Leonard Ravenhill
    O God of Bethel, God of our ancestors, be our God today. Bless us, let Your face shine on us, and be gracious to us. Lift up the light of Your presence on us and give us Your peace. We wouldn’t dare go out into the world today without knowing You’re with us. But You are everywhere. Where could we go that You wouldn’t be there? No matter where we end up today, we will see You watching over us. Nothing can separate us from Your love! No power can pull us out of Your hands! So, even as we leave the safety of our home and go into a world full of dangers, we aren’t afraid because You’re with us wherever we go.
    We dedicate ourselves to You. You’ve redeemed us, and we belong to You. We recognize Your rightful ownership of us, and we offer ourselves to You freely. Yet, we know how hard it is to truly give ourselves to You because our hearts are constantly pulled away. So, take us, God—because we can’t do it on our own. When temptation comes, shelter us and don’t let us fall. If we face evil, lead us safely through it. Protect us from anything that would dishonor You or harm our lives.
    We ask for the grace to make this a holy day. Help us do our everyday tasks in a way that pleases You. Save us from laziness, from greed, from neglecting our responsibilities, from bad tempers, and from holding grudges.
    Help us be patient with everyone, to be forgiving, kind, thoughtful, courteous, loving, and prayerful. Protect us and bring us home safely tonight. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, our Redeemer. Amen.
    Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.
    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
    *DATE:*
    WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY, 2026
    *SUB-THEME:*
    THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.
    *TOPIC:*
    CARNALITY
    *TEXT:*
    GALATIANS 5:19-21
    19. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
    20. idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
    21. and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    *TOPIC:*
    CARNALITY
    *THE MESSAGE:*
    A carnally minded person is always inclined to worldly things. This text describes the miserable lifestyle of people who are led by the flesh. They are submerged in sexual immorality, impurity, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, sedition, selfish ambition, envy, drunkenness, and the like. They miss out on the grace of God and become liable to miss the kingdom of God. If you are guilty of any of these sins, even if you are involved in religious activities and are saddled with responsibility, or leadership position in the church, know that you are on your way to destruction. Be warned, if you deliberately keep on sinning after you have received knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sin is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgement (Heb. 10:26). Reconsider your ways and amend.
    *REFLECTION:*
    Shun carnality.
    *PRAYER:*
    Gracious Lord, help me to overcome the power of carnality. Amen.
    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    HEBREWS 10:29.
    How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    PROVERBS 25-29.
    ```WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY, 2026```

    *THE END IS NEAR!* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```LUKE 21:20-27```
    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh" (Luke 21:20).*_

    Yes! The end of the world is near. Jesus told us that many signs will happen to show us that the end is near. Are they not happening? They are happening as we hear of terrible earthquakes in many countries, seas overflowing and flooding people's houses and many drowned and died, strange diseases like COVID-19 which held the whole world under its effect.

    There is also increase in the rate of kidnappings, rape, gangsterism, cult activities, negative influences of the internet, and many other bad things that the Bible clearly states would happen, to show that the end time is near.

    *What are you doing about all the signs happening everywhere? Are you getting ready for the coming of the Lord? The end is near! Get ready so that you won't miss the rapture.*

    *Firstly, the sinner must repent, turn from his bad ways and accept Jesus as his personal Saviour and Lord. Secondly, believers must live a holy life, preach the gospel to call sinners to repentance, watch, pray, and be ready for Christ's return.*

    ```rayer:``` _*Oh God, please help me not to miss heaven, in Jesus' name.*_ 🏽
    ``` Further Reading:``` *Matthew 24:1-8*

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

    He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. ⏤ Psalm 121:3-4

    God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be. ⏤ E.M. Bounds

    Our heavenly Father, You’ve brought us to the end of another day. We don’t even know all the dangers we’ve passed through safely because You were watching over us. We don’t know how close we were to death, or how Your hand guided us along narrow paths. We don’t know the enemies we’ve passed by unharmed because You protected us. We don’t know how You kept us from wandering into dangerous paths and instead led us on the right way. We thank You not only for the close calls but also for the safe and peaceful paths You’ve led us on today. It’s been a good day because You guided our way.

    Now we leave the day with You—its work, its responsibilities, its mistakes, its sins.

    Where we’ve messed up—will You forgive us?

    Where we’ve done wrong—will You make it right?

    Where we’ve broken things—will You restore them?

    The poor pieces of our obedience, scattered along our path—will You gather them up and turn them into something beautiful? You have a way of using even our brokenness to build something good. So, we give You this day with all its imperfections, asking You to make it a day of grace and beauty.

    May the influence we’ve had on others today be positive and uplifting. Let no harm come to anyone from our words or actions. Bless the good we’ve received from others today as well.

    Take us now into Your care for the night. We can’t keep ourselves safe, so we place everything in Your hands. We will sleep peacefully because we trust You to watch over us. Keep us safe, we ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. THURSDAY JULY 9, 2026.
    "THE LAW OF LOVE (2)"

    'Above all, clothe yourself with love...' Colosians 3:14 NLT

    GOD'S LOVE is the most powerful force the world has ever seen. And as a follower of Christ, it is up to you to carry the torch and keep it burning. The Bible says, ‘…Clothe yourselves with tender-hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience…Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony’ (vv. 12 & 14 NLT). It’s one thing to quote Scriptures, pray long articulate prayers in public, study theology and attend church. But only when people see your love will they be impacted by your life. Love, not words, is the true test of your discipleship. It’s said that General Omar Bradley once made a business trip on a commercial airline wearing a regular suit instead of his military uniform. When he reached his seat, he started doing some paperwork. As it turned out, the man sitting next to him was a young army private who didn’t recognise Bradley. So, after take-off, he turned to the general and said, ‘Since we’re going to be together for a while, it would be nice if we got to know each other. My guess is that you’re a banker.’ Not wishing to seem rude, but needing to finish his work, Bradley replied, ‘No, I’m General Omar Bradley, a five-star general in the US Army. I head up the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon in Washington, DC’. Without missing a beat, the young private replied, ‘Well, sir, that’s a very important job, and I sure hope you don’t blow it!’ Your most important job today is to show God’s love–so don’t blow it!

    MD.ii. JESUS HAS OVERCOME THE EVIL ONE

    "This Man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put Him to death by nailing Him to the cross." - Acts 2:23

    These words from Peter mean that God the Father deliberately gave His Son into the hands of the people who killed Him. God the Father was there when they pressed a crown of thorns on His head, mocked, beat and spit on Him. After this cruel treatment, they crucified Him. You would think: God is a God of love; how can He hand over His own Son to such horrible death?

    Foreknowledge

    This has to do with information nobody else had. What was this foreknowledge? Peter gives the answer: 'But God raised Him from the dead, freeing Him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Him' (verse 24). God knew that the death to which He had delivered His Son could not hold Him. God knew this beforehand. The evil one didn't know this and the people did not know this either. God knew that Jesus would conquer death and hell.

    We know that Jesus has risen from the dead! Before Calvary, death was an enemy of man. Death is the terrain of the evil one, because death has to do with hell, darkness and the power of the evil one. Death has to do with satan. Life has to do with Jesus.

    The Light, praise God, has conquered the darkness. The Lord Jesus went to the terrain of the evil one and took away the keys of death and hell. Death is no longer the domain of satan. Jesus conquered the power of the evil one. Jesus says in Revelation 1:17-18: 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One. I was dead, but look, I am alive forever. I have power over death and hell.'

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

    Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou Art Dialog with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. ⏤ Psalm 23:4

    A day without prayer is a day without blessing, and a life without prayer is a life without power. ⏤ Leonard Ravenhill

    O God of Bethel, God of our ancestors, be our God today. Bless us, let Your face shine on us, and be gracious to us. Lift up the light of Your presence on us and give us Your peace. We wouldn’t dare go out into the world today without knowing You’re with us. But You are everywhere. Where could we go that You wouldn’t be there? No matter where we end up today, we will see You watching over us. Nothing can separate us from Your love! No power can pull us out of Your hands! So, even as we leave the safety of our home and go into a world full of dangers, we aren’t afraid because You’re with us wherever we go.

    We dedicate ourselves to You. You’ve redeemed us, and we belong to You. We recognize Your rightful ownership of us, and we offer ourselves to You freely. Yet, we know how hard it is to truly give ourselves to You because our hearts are constantly pulled away. So, take us, God—because we can’t do it on our own. When temptation comes, shelter us and don’t let us fall. If we face evil, lead us safely through it. Protect us from anything that would dishonor You or harm our lives.

    We ask for the grace to make this a holy day. Help us do our everyday tasks in a way that pleases You. Save us from laziness, from greed, from neglecting our responsibilities, from bad tempers, and from holding grudges.

    Help us be patient with everyone, to be forgiving, kind, thoughtful, courteous, loving, and prayerful. Protect us and bring us home safely tonight. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, our Redeemer. Amen.

    Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY, 2026

    *SUB-THEME:*
    THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    CARNALITY

    *TEXT:*
    GALATIANS 5:19-21
    19. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
    20. idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
    21. and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

    *TOPIC:*
    CARNALITY

    *THE MESSAGE:*
    A carnally minded person is always inclined to worldly things. This text describes the miserable lifestyle of people who are led by the flesh. They are submerged in sexual immorality, impurity, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, sedition, selfish ambition, envy, drunkenness, and the like. They miss out on the grace of God and become liable to miss the kingdom of God. If you are guilty of any of these sins, even if you are involved in religious activities and are saddled with responsibility, or leadership position in the church, know that you are on your way to destruction. Be warned, if you deliberately keep on sinning after you have received knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sin is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgement (Heb. 10:26). Reconsider your ways and amend.

    *REFLECTION:*
    Shun carnality.

    *PRAYER:*
    Gracious Lord, help me to overcome the power of carnality. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    HEBREWS 10:29.
    How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

As Christians , we know that the strength of any nation is not found in its wealth , military , or influence , but on its willingness to honor the Lord .God’s Word reminds us ,” Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord :and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance .”Psalm 33:12. As we celebrate 250 years of American history ,may we give thanks for the freedom that is found only in Jesus Christ .Let us pray for our nation , our leaders ,our churches , and our families .May God Grant us wisdom to stand for truth , faithfully share the Gospel and leave a legacy of faith for generations to come. The Bible reminds us :” Righteousness exalteth a nation ;but sin is a reproach to any people .”-Proverbs 14:34. As believers , our greatest citizenship is in heaven , yet God calls us to be faithful where He has placed us .We are instructed to pray for those in authority ,to pursue peace , and to live lives that honor Christ before our neighbors Rather than merely celebrating America’s past , we should ask ourselves :Am I living as a faithful witness for Christ ?Am I praying for my nation and its leaders ?Am I helping preserve liberty by living according to God’s truth ? A nation’s future is strengthened when its people seek the Lord in humble headed
