Fear is a clever adversary. When we think of fear, the first things that come to mind are old, decrepit Victorian mansions or abandoned houses fueled by stories of stories of swinging chandeliers or doors that creak open on their own. Or we might think of less dramatic fears: heights or flying or small spaces. Unless you’re suffering from one of these or other phobias—or ghosts—it is rather easy to simply discard fear as something other people experience. But fear is not so simple. Most often, it sneaks into mind and festers and builds like a bacteria that, if untreated, to infection, sepsis, and even death. You can try preventative measures to keep it at bay, but bacteria can still get in. And you never know until you’re infected until the symptoms appear. This is the primary modus operandi of fear. It sneaks in, debilitates, and even paralyzes. Ultimately, it renders its victim completely helpless. This came to light during an unrelated discussion with my wife. We have been trying to put the finishing touches on my next manuscript, which frankly has been simmering on the backburner over the last several due to life distractions. Currently, it is coming down to fact-checking and formatting endnotes. It is especially nerve-racking because, unlike my previous book, we chose to self-publish this one. We have to get it right. It is all on us. It’s been difficult to release the manuscript. We’re haunted by the questions: is there more that can be done? Is the subject even all that relevant anymore? What am I missing? We check and recheck every detail. We don’t want to let go and send it into a very cruel world. We both recognized this paralysis after hearing ourselves begin everything with the phrase: “I’m afraid…” This realization suddenly made this year make sense. I have felt a bit off most of the year. I have become more subdued, resigned, troubled. I thought I was hiding it okay until a former (and very discerning) student came up to me recently and asked, “Mr. H., are you sad?” That simple, innocent question shook me into an awareness. I don’t necessarily think I am depressed, but something is not right. Since then, between that question and this recent epiphany with my wife, I realized that fear has crept into my life and is now controlling my psyche. The first part of 2026 has been difficult. Now, I won’t pretend that it was somehow more difficult than others. But it has been tough. The remainder of 2026 has been trying to recover from it. Last March, within days of the door slamming shut on my wife’s 25-year career, I lost my mom. In a way, I lost her over the last several years as she sank into dementia, but last March her battle ended. Add this to standard stresses associated with a second semester in a high school, which in and of itself is enough to deplete my tanks. Now I have to tap into mental and emotional resources that don’t exist. Fast forward to the present and I can see how God was with us in the storm. He gave me mental and emotionally resources, I never knew existed. He took care of us despite a huge income drop and being uninsured for a couple of month. Further, I know that my mom is now thinking more clearly than I could ever dream. God gets the glory. However, the enemy used a different tactic to paralyze me. Out of these hardship, fear crept in. And now I realize I am infected with it. Watching my mom sink into the darkness of dementia, I have become afraid that one day I might suffer from that myself. I am afraid of losing my mind. Unfortunately, once fear has a foothold, it doesn’t stop there. Fear escalated from fearing dementia to fearing getting old in general. I am only a few months away from leaving behind my fifties forever. I began to fear getting old. I fear my body slowing down. Simple things become a little harder. My back, my knees, and feet start to hurt a little more. I have a little more trouble hearing someone in a noisy room. I am doing that weird thing with my glasses when transitioning between reading close up and at a distance. It takes longer to get over a cold. Last July, I turned an ankle in Colorado that still aches today. The thought of not driving because driving in the winter or at night just isn’t worth the risk. I don’t want to give up the things that require the energy I had when I was young. How many summer road trips do I have left? What happens when I can no longer match the energy of a classroom of high school students? Fear takes that into a whole new direction. I really don’t want to stop teaching. I love the classroom. I love the cycle of the school calendar. But what happens when my body can’t keep up? Can my filters remain strong enough to keep me from saying something mean or stupid? Will I become tiresome, or in the way? Can I keep my teaching style and not turn into a grumpy old stooge? Worse yet, what happens when I become irrelevant? I have found myself somewhat paralyzed by this fear. And it has dragged me down. It has made me “look sad.” All of this came together with the recent discussion with my wife. Fear has overtaken me. It has taken control of me. But is it too late? Thankfully, no. The most used phrase in the entirety of scripture is: “do not be afraid.” However, one important observation that seems to be overlooked is that that phrase is almost always spoken from the supernatural point of view: God to human, Jesus to human, heavenly messenger to human. From a broader, heavenly perspective to a limited, natural one. “Do not be afraid.” I have thought about this constantly since that epiphany I had with my wife. I should not—must not—live in fear. Not as a child of the King. But how do you switch fear off? It is not as simple as a light switch. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:5: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” The enemy’s game plan is to always whisper thoughts into our head that will trigger fear. We have to be on guard always. When we get the sense of fear, we must be deliberate and take that thought captive and replace it with truth: “My God is bigger”; “He is my protector and comforter”; “This thought is not coming from him”. Fear does not sit on the throne, God does. Fear, by definition, is limited, God is infinite. Fear is merely a tool, God is the creator of everything, including us who are made in gis image. Only God can break through the paralysis fear brings and can heal us. Does that mean those things I fear will never happen? No. They likely will. But however the upcoming years pan out, he is with you, with me. And whatever the future brings, God is God. And he is good.

Matthew 9:35 What a busy life Christ led! Day by day He might be seen entering the humble abodes of want and sorrow, speaking hope to the downcast and peace to the distressed. The poor and suffering received the greatest share of His attention. Children loved Him. They were drawn to Him by His ready sympathy. By His simple, loving words He settled many a difficulty arising among them. Often He took them on His knee and talked with them in a way that won their hearts.... Humble, gracious, tenderhearted, pitiful, He went about doing good, feeding the hungry, lifting up the bowed down, comforting the sorrowing. None who came to Him for aid went away unrelieved. Not a thread of selfishness was woven into the pattern He has left for His children to follow. He lived the life that He would have all live who believe on Him. It was His meat and drink to do the will of His Father. To all who came to Him for help He brought faith and hope and life. Wherever He went He carried blessing. The tender sympathies of our Saviour were aroused for fallen and suffering humanity. If you would be His followers, you must cultivate compassion and sympathy. Indifference to human woes must give place to lively interest in the sufferings of others. The widow, the orphan, the sick and the dying, will always need help. Here is an opportunity to proclaim the gospel—to hold up Jesus, the hope and consolation of all men. When the suffering body has been relieved, and you have shown a lively interest in the afflicted, the heart is opened, and you can pour in the heavenly balm. Thankful Thursday Morning Prayer “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.” — Psalm 92:1 (KJV) Heavenly Father, on this Thankful Thursday morning, we enter Your presence with grateful hearts and praise upon our lips. Thank You for watching over us throughout the night and touching us with Your hand of mercy this morning. Thank You for the breath in our bodies, the strength to rise, and the blessing of seeing another day. Before we ask You for anything, Lord, we pause to thank You for everything. Thank You for being our Savior, Protector, Provider, Healer, Comforter, and closest Friend. Thank You for loving us when we were difficult to love, forgiving us when we fell short, and remaining faithful even when our faith became weak. Your Word declares, “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23). Father, thank You for every prayer You answered and every blessing You released. Thank You also for the prayers You answered differently than we expected. We now understand that some closed doors were Your protection, some delays were Your preparation, and some disappointments were Your divine redirection. Thank You for what You allowed, what You prevented, and what You are still working together for our good. Lord, forgive us for the times we complained about what was missing while overlooking what remained. Forgive us for focusing on our burdens more than Your faithfulness. Give us eyes to recognize Your goodness in the ordinary blessings—the food on our tables, clothing on our bodies, roofs over our heads, family and friends, moments of peace, and strength to keep moving forward. Give wisdom to doctors, nurses, caregivers, and medical professionals. Let Your healing power flow, for Your Word declares, “I am the LORD that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26). Comfort every grieving heart and remind them that You are “a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Provide employment for those seeking work, financial relief for struggling households, shelter for the displaced, food for the hungry, and hope for those who feel forgotten. Open doors that no person can shut, and release resources from unexpected places. Father, strengthen Your Church. Bless pastors, ministers, leaders, missionaries, and every servant laboring for Your Kingdom. Give them wisdom, integrity, endurance, and fresh anointing. Let our churches be houses of prayer, healing, truth, love, deliverance, and salvation. Help us not merely to speak about Your goodness but to demonstrate it through compassion and service. Teach us to live thankfully—not only when life is easy, but also when the road is difficult. Your Word commands us, “In every thing give thanks” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Therefore, we will thank You in the waiting, praise You through the struggle, and trust You in uncertainty. Our circumstances may change, but Your character never will. You are still good, still faithful, still sovereign, and still worthy of all our praise. Let gratitude guide our attitude throughout this day. May our words bring healing, our actions show kindness, and our lives point others toward Jesus. Keep murmuring and negativity far from us. Place a new song in our hearts so that wherever we go, we carry Your peace, display Your joy, and testify of Your faithfulness. I really don’t know where or how to start. So I prayed to the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY that He leads me with the correct words and proper attitude and the right direction with which to have this letter flow. I pray that the Holy Spirit leads me and guides me in this letter so HIS NAME may be glorified. Let me give you a small resume of my life. I was born Catholic and educated in their grade schools, high school and two years of Catholic college. I lived thirty six years of Catholicism before I had a relationship with GOD. I was baptized in Jesus name June of 1983 in the San Jacinto River under Highway 59 north of Houston, Texas, by Brother Tommy Hodges. I received the HOLY SPIRIT January, 1984, at Deer Park Pentecostal Church (Pastor Possey) under the evangelistic preaching of Brother Hightower. In 1989, with the blessing of Pastor Kilgore of Life Tabernacle my wife and I left for Philadelphia, PA. GOD had us start the Jesus Name Ministries church which we have been pastoring for the past sixteen years. I never comprised on the name of Jesus. One day this past summer (2004) my wife, Linda and I were camping. Linda went to bed and I was scanning the radio stations about mid-night on Sunday. I stopped at a station where a preacher in Georgia was preaching. In his preaching he stated that he was Apostolic and preached Acts 2:38 in a way I never heard before. Repent and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of YAHWAH Messiah for the remission of sins. This caught my attention and my anger and my curiosity. I jotted down his phone number and put it in my wallet, planning to call and investigate this strange NAME of YAHWAH. I investigated the Philadelphia library, to my surprise; I found many scholarly Bible writers wrote on the oldest and most used NAME OF GOD. I didn’t know where this investigation was going to take me. All I know is that I love truth. I spoke several times on the phone with this strang Yahwah preacher and his wife that were from Georgia, Jerry & Kathy Kirk. They sent me some Biblical historical materials to read and pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. YHWH (pronounced YAHWAH by all Jewish rabbis) is GOD and GOD alone. 2. YHWH is found 6,832 times in the TANACH. 3. Paul the Apostle always referred to the TANACH to show that YHWH was the Messiah. 4. The TANACH is nothing more than our equivalent to the Old Testament. 5. That the NAME of GOD, YHWH (YAHWAH) was first used in Genesis 2:4 and last used in the Old Testament Malachi 3:23. 6. The Hebrew Apostles scriptures were stolen by a church (circa 126-136 A. D.) and translated into Greek and the original Hebrew New Testament scriptures were destroyed. 7. Jesus is only a new name of 393 years. In the King James 1611 A.D. the NAME OF THE SAVIOR in the Christian world was Iesous. The letter ‘J’, according to Webster did not exist until after the mid-1650. 8. A scholarly Biblical fact is that YHWH (YAHWAH) was taken out of our New English editions and hidden by only using the word LORD. 9. Genesis 4:26 at the time of Seth men began calling on THE NAME of YHWH (YAHWAH). 10. Genesis 12:8; 13:4, 21:33 Abram at Bethel called upon THE NAME of YHWH (YAHWAH). 11. Biblical scholars all recognize as truth that the TANACH (Old Testament) has THE NAME YHWH 6,832. Also agreed upon is that Jehovah is an erroneous translation of YAHWAH mixed with Adonai. If you keep this in mind then we know the GOD of the Old Testament is YHWH and because HE changes not (Malachi 3:6) we know HE is the GOD of the New Testament. Let us talk about the name Yahoshua. Yahoshua is Hebrew and English translation is Joshua. So the Messiah, according to this knowledge should have been named in English as Joshua Christ. According to the thesis of Doctor Bernard he states on page 36 that Yahwah of the Old Testament manifested HIMSELF in the flesh to be our SAVIOR. THE SAVIOR stated in John 5:43 “I come in THE NAME OF MY FATHER. How can GOD change HIS NAME? He cannot. The legal name of my wife is Linda, it means pretty but her name is not pretty, it is Linda. Psalm 54:1 Save me, 0 GOD, by YOUR NAME. THE NAME OF GOD is YAHWAH; we are saved by HIS NAME. What do we not understand with this statement? I am in agreement with Doctor Bernard that YAHWAH was manifested in the flesh and that baby was called YAHWAH the Messiah, the same NAME AS HIS FATHER. Isaiah 63:16 YOU, 0 YAHWAH, are our FATHER, our redeemer, THY NAME is from everlasting. It does not say anywhere that the false name of Jesus is everlasting, only YAHWAH. The second argument of Dr. Bernard makes no sense whatsoever because in his argument he believes the Hebrew Apostles called the Messiah by the name Iesous - Jesus - Joshua. The Messiah was known as YAHWAH. The Word Hallelujah is universal. YAHWAH is literally the same in every tongue (universal). George W. Bush is introduced as George W. Bush throughout every language and country. His legal name does not change to the language of the people. His name is the same (transliterated) in every language. THE NAME OF YAHWAH is pronounced literally and universally. On page 37 Dr. Bernard states unequivocally the early church baptized in Jesus Name but later says that the name Jesus evolved from lesous in the Latin/Greek Hebrew. Did the Apostles say Joshua, Yahoshua, Iesous or Jesus? My GOD does not change names like we do clothes. Just what is HIS NAME for salvation? Is it Jesus, Iesous, Yahoshua, Joshua? Could it be so simple that it is YAHWAH the Messiah? *Promises of Comfort - We Can Trust Him With Our Tears* One of the hardest truths to reconcile in the Christian life is the presence of evil in the world God created. Whether we’ve seen evil, or evil has been done to us, it is hard to make sense of why God would allow evil things to happen. The truth is: the world we live in is broken. Because we have neglected God’s path for living, the world is not as it should be. But even though evil exists, God’s promise still remains: evil will not win. The brokenness of our world will not last forever. The book of Revelation gives us an insight into the future of all things. While there are a lot of odd symbols and events in Revelation, there are also some very clear and hopeful pictures of what will happen. One of the promises that we hold onto in dark times is in *Revelation 21:4*. God promises He will wipe away every tear—which means He will be our everlasting Comforter. He promises that in heaven there will be no death nor mourning, no crying nor pain. While our temporary time on earth might be filled with pain and grief, we look forward to the future when we will join God in heaven and be free of death and decay. This truth should fill us with hope and endurance in the midst of pain and sorrow. *Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."* If we’re currently going through a difficult time, let's take some time to pray to God, and ask Him for help and courage. Asking Him to fill us with hope and endurance. Keeping in mind His promises to make all things right in the end, and let that hope carry us forward as we follow after Him. *A Prayer To Take Away Pain* Father God, we thank You for deeply caring about who we are. We are so grateful that, one day, You will take away all the pain and hardship we’ve experienced. But until that day comes, we will trust You and cling to You. We will place our hope in You. MESSAGE: Any people today conduct their lives as if the earth is their home and final resting place. Such people focus solely on gathering treasures here on earth and practically worship material things. For them, the things that they see and own are far more important than everything else. They want to drive the best cars, Iive in the biggest houses, eat the most exotic foods, and gather as much money as they can at all costs. All they care about are vain things, and nothing else matters to them. The Bible tells us in James 4:4 that friendship with this world is enmity with God. This means that anyone who loves the things of this world more than anything else, cares so deeply about material things, and is willing to do practically anything to acquire material possessions is an enemy of God. The same Scripture refers to such a fellow as an adulterer or adulteress. This is because, as Christians, God, our Maker, is our Husband (Isaiah 54:4), and He is the One who owns us. Therefore, if someone or something else succeeds in taking our hearts away from our Husband, we are committing adultery. Beloved, I would like you to read today's memory verse carefully and ensure you memorize it. I would love it if you could make it your watchword henceforth, because it is important to understand that all the things you see around you are temporal. For instance, a car that used to be flashy ten years ago is no longer flashy now. Likewise, the most sophisticated phone ten years ago has become outdated today. The things of this world are temporal and have no eternal value. However, the devil uses them as bait to distract people from things that are truly valuable and those that have eternal consequences. For instance, many young ladies have been lured into engaging in illicit sexual activities because they want to use the latest phones and wear the best clothes. They traded their virginity for material possessions, and they can never recover what they have lost, whereas they can lose what they thought they gained. Child of God, take heed to the words of Jesus in Mark 8:36-37. Nothing on earth today is as valuable as your soul, and nothing is worth losing your soul in hell over. Don't fall for the devil's lies; keep your focus on God and His kingdom rather than the things of the world. Earth is not your home; you're only passing through.
