However, nobody needed to tell Adam that there must be a better place because the God that used to commune with him in *"the cool of the day"* was not living in Eden. He must be dwelling in a better place. This faith was carried on from generations to generations until the time of Abraham, who in spite of all the wealth promised him, his affection was focused on the better city. *"For he (Abraham) looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God"*. Nobody was given a better revelation of heaven than Apostle John. Enoch and Elijah were said to be translated to heaven. How heaven looked like was left to human imaginations. Jesus Christ also mentioned heaven as the abode of the Triune God. He only told us it has many mansions. At the mount of transfiguration was revealed the glory of heaven and how the inhabitants will look like. Nothing more was revealed. Stephen saw heaven at the point of death but just faintly (Acts 7:55-56). Paul the apostle was taken to heaven which he called the third heaven, but he said he was not permitted to reveal what he saw to any except that he exposed that it has many foundations (Acts 11:10, 2 Corinthians 12:2-4). The text shows us the climax of God's revelation about heaven. Yet the Bible writers were short of words to describe heaven except that it is the place where God dwells from eternity, with all His created angels and saints. *"How beautiful heaven must be"*. *1. Prepared Heaven* a. Those who doubt the testimony of Apostle John must be ready to doubt his gospel and epistles that have transformed lives and brought supernatural comforts and revelation of Jesus Christ to mankind for centuries. *"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth"*. He was not told or heard from a third party. He saw it himself. It was not a remodelled new heaven and earth, but a totally new heaven and a new earth. *"And there was no more sea"*. There are three types of heaven mentioned in the Bible. There is the atmospheric heaven where the rain comes from (Deuteronomy 11:11). There is the second heaven called heavenlies where we have the galaxies including the primary domain of demonic forces and angelic conflicts (Ephesians 6:12). Then we have the third heaven or paradise where God dwells (2 Corinthians 12:2). *"For the first heaven and the first earth were passed away"*. The first two heavens were passed away except the third heaven. 2 Peter 3:12, 13 reveals how this will happen. *"….. wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. "*. The earth and the heavens will be destroyed through fervent heat. Jesus Himself confirmed that heaven and earth with all their structures, beauties, learnings and philosophies shall all pass away except the Word of God (Matthew 5:18, 24:35). In fact, all the human bodies will give way to eternal and indestructible bodies. Thus, what Apostle John saw was the giving away of all things that are visible and temporary for things that are eternal. b. *"And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven"*. The earthly Jerusalem was referred to as the city of the Great King (Psalm 48:2, Matthew 5:35). This is referring to the Millennium holy Jerusalem from where Jesus will rule the whole world physically. John the apostle said that Jerusalem ceased to exist, but gave way to a completely New Jerusalem. This New Jerusalem was seen coming *"out of heaven"*. Obviously, it is seen coming from the third heaven which is the eternal throne of God. He used the imagery of the beauty of a bride coming to meet the husband to describe the beauty of heaven. This is the best description human language can give. *Prepared as a bride adorned for her husband"*. He then heard the voice of God announcing the plan of God right from eternity. What was that plan? That God will physically, live among men as King over loving subjects; as Father over His children in a happy family set up and as God over His redeemed and people. *"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God"*. This is the beginning of heaven, happy and holy eternity. *Question* Are you getting prepared for heaven in the practical sense of it? If Not, then you don't actually, believe in heaven. *2. Pacification with Happiness* a. The Apostle further gave a glimpse of how we will feel in heaven. *"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes"*. Tears of sorrow, anguish, lost loved ones, physical and psychological pains, etc.will all be forgotten. This is difficult to imagine for man. It is like imagining how God promised that *"your sins and iniquities will I remember no more"*. We don't have a problem with God forgiving our sins, but God forgetting our sins will be difficult to imagine. We will all forget the painful past as we will be overwhelmed with the glory of God for eternity. *"There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away"*. The pains and the tears, called *"light afflictions"* will be for a moment. They will not survive the joy of eternity. b. For those who have difficulty with believing, *"he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful"*. Heaven is prepared already. When Jesus Christ was about going to heaven, He assured the disciples of going to build mansions for them. About 60 years later, when John saw the revelation, he was told by the Lord that it was done. It means it is a settled and concluded matter. *"And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end"*. In heaven there will not be any heat or tension, but total refreshments and happiness. *"I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely"*. Everything God has will be totally ours. All the gifts of God, physical or spiritual, will belong to us as possessions. Nothing needed or useful will be denied. We suffer different lacks while on earth. Heaven will be the opposite. *"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son"*. Are you an overcomer over sin, Satan and all his temptations? *Question* What are the things you are suffering on earth? Do you see them as temporary? *3. Punishment of Hell* What are the things that will disqualify any from entering heaven? What would be the abode of those who will miss heaven? The answer is fearful. *"But the fearful, and unbelieving"*. Every evil action stems from fear and unbelief. Unbelief of what God has spoken and the consequences of disobedience, fear of man and what man can do are terrible paralysing feelings that draw men to perdition. *"And the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars"*. Notice that all those sins are now also found inside the Church among professing saints. So there will be eternal surprises when those who profess that heaven is their home find themselves in a totally different place called hell. Christian whistleblower nurse Vanessa Sivadge has secured a settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) that requires the hospital to establish what her attorneys describe as the first free “detransitioner clinic” in the United States. The clinic, scheduled to open by the end of October, will provide free care for at least five years to patients up to age 21 who underwent transgender procedures at TCH or elsewhere and are experiencing fertility, endocrine, psychiatric or other long-term health complications. The settlement follows Sivadge’s allegations that TCH committed Medicaid fraud related to transgender treatments for minors. Sivadge, who was fired after speaking out and requesting a religious accommodation, said her Christian faith motivated her whistleblowing. Reflecting on the outcome, she said, “America’s First Detransitioner Clinic… It’s extraordinary. It’s unprecedented. It was worth it.” She added, “It’s over. I won. We are in a period where many young people are battling fear, unemployment, addiction, depression, immorality, broken homes, and uncertainty about the future. Many have lost hope because of repeated disappointments. Some believe they have no future, while others are searching for meaning in the wrong places. But God's message to every young person today is this: "There is hope for you!" Your present situation does not determine your final destination. God has not forgotten you. The God who raised Joseph from prison, David from the wilderness, Esther from obscurity, and Daniel from captivity is still raising young men and women today. No matter how dark your night may be, dawn is coming. Key Bible Texts Jeremiah 29:11 > "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This promise was given to people living in difficult circumstances. God assured them that captivity was not the end of their story. Likewise, today's struggles are not the end of your journey. Joel 2:28 > "Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy... your young men shall see visions." God has a divine assignment for the youth. David was forgotten by his family, yet God had already chosen him to become king. Your background cannot cancel God's purpose. Lesson: Never measure your future by your present condition. 2. Hope Grows Through Right Choices Many destinies are destroyed not because God failed, but because wrong decisions were made. Choose: God over sin. Wisdom over foolishness. Discipline over laziness. Character over popularity. Purpose over pleasure. Every decision you make today shapes your tomorrow. Proverbs 3:5–6 teaches us to trust the Lord rather than our own understanding. 3. At God's appointed time, he became the Prime Minister of Egypt and saved many lives. Lessons from Joseph: Dreams may be delayed but not destroyed. Integrity attracts God's favor. This OSAS (Once Saved Always Saved) message is destroying young believers in Nigeria and Africa 🌍 It is giving them the boldness to continue in fornication, yahoo‑yahoo, fraud, pornography, drunkenness, and every other sin, because they have been told that “no sin can take you to hell once you accept Christ.” When you talk to them, they quote their pastor saying: “Only rejecting Christ sends you to hell. Not sin.” So to them, accepting Christ has become a license to explore every evil pleasure of the world and still expect heaven. And we wonder why a country with thousands of churches still drowns in corruption, immorality, and wickedness. If this pattern continues and if watchmen, genuine believers, and true pastors do not keep sounding the alarm, the younger generation will drift fully into perversion. And when that happens, immorality and scandals will tear the church apart, and church attendance will collapse the same way it has collapsed in many Western nations. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TOPIC: RISING COST OF LIVING. Theme: God Is Still Our Provider in Difficult Times. A Message That Touches Every Home. Almost every family is feeling the pressure of today's economy. Food prices keep rising. Transportation costs are increasing. Rent is becoming difficult to pay. Many people work harder than ever, yet their income seems insufficient. The question is not, "Does God know what is happening?" The real question is, "How should believers respond when the cost of living keeps rising?" The Bible reminds us that although economies may fail, God never fails. Inflation may increase, but God's promises never lose their value. > Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." This is not merely a promise of financial abundance, but an assurance of God's faithful care for those who trust Him. Key Bible Texts Matthew 6:31–33 > "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink?... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Philippians 4:19 > "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Paul wrote these words while facing hardship. God's provision is not limited by economic conditions. Psalm 23:1 > "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." The Shepherd knows how to feed His sheep, even in dry seasons. 1. Difficult Times Should Draw Us Closer to God, Not Away from Him Economic hardship often reveals where our confidence truly lies. Some become discouraged. Some lose hope. Some compromise their integrity. But God's children are called to trust Him more deeply. When the widow of Zarephath met Elijah (1 Kings 17), she had only one final meal left. Yet when she obeyed God's instruction, her flour and oil did not run out. Lesson: God specializes in sustaining His people when resources appear exhausted. 2. God's Provision Often Comes Through Wisdom and Diligence Faith is not laziness. The Bible encourages planning, hard work, and wise management. > Proverbs 6:6-8 "Go to the ant... consider her ways, and be wise. God blesses: Honest labour Wise budgeting Saving where possible Avoiding unnecessary debt Contentment instead of endless comparison Prayer opens doors, but wisdom helps us walk through them. 3. Never Compromise Your Integrity Because of Financial Pressure Many people justify fraud, bribery, corruption, and dishonesty because life has become expensive. But temporary gain can lead to lasting regret. > Proverbs 10:2 "Treasures of wickedness profit nothing." God can bless clean hands more than dishonest wealth. Joseph refused compromise in Egypt. Daniel refused corruption in Babylon. God eventually honoured them publicly. 4. Learn the Secret of Contentment The world teaches us to measure success by possessions. The Bible teaches us to measure success by our relationship with Christ. Paul declared: > Philippians 4:11-12 "I have learned... to be content." Contentment does not mean lacking ambition. It means refusing to allow possessions to control your peace. 5. God Uses Difficult Seasons to Build Strong Faith Storms reveal strong foundations. Economic hardship teaches us: Dependence on God Gratitude Compassion Patience Generosity Sometimes God does not immediately remove the challenge because He is developing stronger character within us. Biblical Case Study: Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8–16) The widow was preparing her last meal before expecting death from famine. God instructed Elijah to ask her for food. Human reasoning would say, "She has almost nothing." But obedience released divine provision. The flour never finished. The oil never failed. God did not send truckloads of food. He sustained her day after day. Lesson: God's provision may not always come as abundance overnight, but He is faithful to sustain His children one day at a time. Practical Action Steps 1. Put God first in every decision. 2. Pray consistently for wisdom and open doors. 3. Work diligently and develop useful skills. 4. Manage money carefully and avoid waste. 5. Open new doors of honest employment, business, and opportunity. 5. Deliver me from fear, anxiety, and hopelessness. 6. Protect me from every temptation to compromise my integrity. 7. Bless the work of my hands and establish me in fruitfulness. 8. Let Your peace rule in my heart regardless of economic conditions. 9. Remember the poor, the unemployed, widows, and vulnerable families with Your mercy. 10. Bring healing, justice, and righteous leadership to our nation, that communities may flourish and people may live in peace. Call to Action The rising cost of living is real, but it is not greater than the power of God. The Lord who fed Israel in the wilderness, sustained the widow during famine, and multiplied the loaves and fish is still able to provide today. Do not let fear define your future. Trust God wholeheartedly, work faithfully, live with integrity, and remain steadfast in prayer. As you seek first His kingdom, believe that He will guide you, sustain you, and supply your needs according to His perfect wisdom and timing. May the God who provides open doors where there seem to be no doors, strengthen every weary heart, and fill every home with His peace and faithful provision. Amen.
