THE STORY BEHIND "I'II PRAISE MY MAKER WHILE I'VE BREATH

“I’ll Praise My Maker While I’ve Breath” is a beloved hymn by the English hymn writer and theologian Isaac Watts (1674–1748). The hymn is based on Psalm 146, transforming the biblical psalm into a personal declaration of lifelong trust, praise and devotion to God.

Watts published the hymn in his influential collection “The Psalms of David, Imitated in the Language of the New Testament” in 1719. Rather than translating the Psalm word-for-word, he expressed its message in a form that worshippers could sing as their own testimony of faith.

The opening words capture the central theme:

    “I’ll praise my Maker while I’ve breath;
And when my voice is lost in death,
Praise shall employ my nobler powers…”

The hymn reflects the conviction that praise should not depend on circumstances. Watts points the worshipper toward God as the faithful Creator and everlasting source of hope, while reminding us that earthly rulers and human strength are temporary.

One of the most memorable ideas in the hymn is its confidence in God’s enduring care. Even as human life comes to an end, the singer looks beyond death with the assurance that praise continues in the presence of the Maker.

“I’ll Praise My Maker While I’ve Breath” became widely loved in Christian worship and has appeared in numerous hymnals across generations. Its enduring appeal lies in its simple but profound message: life itself is an opportunity to praise God, and that praise ultimately reaches beyond the limits of earthly life.

Isaac Watts died in 1748, but his hymns continued to shape Christian worship around the world. Through this hymn, his paraphrase of Psalm 146 remains a powerful invitation to make praise a lifelong commitment.

Align with Yehusha be with Team Yeshua and will fight your Battle : God Fights for the Remnant of Peace

When you make peace with the true Joshua—Jesus Christ—you enter into a covenant that shifts your battles from your hands into God's hands.

In Joshua 10, the Gibeonites were targets simply because they allied themselves with Israel. Similarly, when you align your life with the Lord, the forces of spiritual darkness may target you.

However, the shadow of Jesus in this text reveals a powerful truth: God assumes your enemies as His own.

He does not leave you to defend yourself. When you call upon Him in times of attack, the Lord responds with swift, supernatural deliverance.

He will disrupt the enemy's plans, cause confusion in their camps, and even move the laws of nature to ensure your complete victory.

Key Bible Verses from Joshua 10

The Call for Help: "The Gibeonites then sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal: 'Do not abandon your servants. Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us, because all the Amorite kings from the hill country have joined forces against us.'" (Joshua 10:6)

The Divine Assurance: "The Lord said to Joshua, 'Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.'" (Joshua 10:8).

The Divine Intervention: "The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel, so Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely... As they fled before Israel... the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them, and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites." (Joshua 10:10-11)

Warfare PrayerHeavenly Father, Almighty God, and Precious Holy Spirit,I come before You today under the covenant of peace established through my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Yeshua).
Because I have surrendered my life to You, I thank You that my battles are no longer mine alone, but they belong to the Lord.

According to Your Word in Joshua 10, when the enemy gathers against me because of my alignment with You, I cry out for Your urgent help.
Do not abandon your servant, Lord! Come quickly to my defense.

I pray that You throw every demonic alliance, every spirit of fear, and every weapon formed against my health, my family, or my destiny into total confusion.

Let Your supernatural power fight on my behalf. Hurl down Your divine judgment against the spiritual forces of wickedness that attempt to steal my peace.

Give me the assurance that not one of my enemies will be able to withstand Your presence.

Let the sun and moon stand still, and let time work in my favor as You fulfill Your promises in my life.
Thank You for complete victory and for being my shield and deliverer. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray.Amen.

  • *Truth and Freedom...*

"They answered Him, 'We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, "You will be made free"?'" (John 8:33)

When Jesus said, *"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,"* we read that the Jews surrounding Him retorted, *"We have never been slaves to anyone."* It is true that the patriarchs—Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—were never slaves to anyone. However, the people of Israel—Abraham's descendants—had been held in bondage by various kingdoms.

In the time of Moses, the Israelites labored as slaves to the Egyptians. We also see that they paid tribute to peoples such as the Philistines, the Jabinites, and the Amalekites. Later, they were taken captive to Babylon (2 Kings 24:10). Subsequently, the Assyrians (2 Kings 18) and then the Medes (Daniel 5:31) ruled over them. Following that, the Persians (Esther 1) and other kingdoms kept them in bondage generation after generation.

Even as they were telling Jesus, "We are not slaves to anyone," the Romans were ruling over them as subjects. Those who claimed to be "Abraham’s descendants" failed to realize that their eyes and hearts were blinded, preventing them from seeing the very One who had created Abraham. That is precisely why they declare, "We are not slaves," even while remaining in bondage.

Sometimes, even though we are enslaved by sin and held fast by it, we fail to realize it. This is often because we live with the mindset: "I was born into a Christian family and I read the Bible; therefore, sin cannot be within me."

We must allow the Lord's *holy blood* to cleanse us every day. The *assurance of salvation* must always abide within us.

    Amen.

    DATE: TUESDAY 18TH AUGUST 2026

    TOPIC: GOD’S COVENANT OF PROMOTION

    MEMORIZE:
"But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil." Psalm 92:10 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: PSALM 75:6-7
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

    MESSAGE:
The devil often uses the promise of promotion to lure people into making covenants with him. For example, I have heard of cases where those in authority would ask someone due for a promotion at work to enter into an evil covenant by joining a secret cult before the promotion is granted.

Beloved, if you ever find yourself in such an ordeal, I urge you never to enter into such covenants.

Today’s Bible reading tells us that promotion comes from God. When He says yes, nobody can say no. When God decides to promote you, it doesn’t matter what anybody may try because you will reach the position that He intends. He controls the heart of kings; therefore, if anyone in authority threatens you, saying, “You will not be promoted unless you join us,” take your stand as a child of God, and never give in. Just hold on to God, and in the end, you will emerge victorious.

Sometime ago, one of my spiritual sons came to me and said, “Daddy, I am tired of being in one spot for so long; I want to move forward. I have an interview tomorrow, please pray for me.” I replied,

“Let us pray,” and he said, “No! Just speak a word.”

Then I told him that the interview would be successful. He went for the interview and came back beaming with joy. He said, “Daddy, I prepared hard for the interview, but they only asked me three questions: What is your name? Which post did you apply for? When do you want to start?” | congratulated him, and he said, “Daddy, please speak another word.” I obliged and responded,

“Your promotion will be rapid.” The next day, He came back dancing for joy. He said, “When I resumed this morning, I was asked to go to the boardroom. The people who interviewed me the previous day were seated there, and they said, ‘Our Managing Director resigned yesterday. Are you ready to take on the post?’ I replied,

“Congratulations, that’s a rapid promotion.” He told me to speak another word, and I said that God would complete the good work He had started in him. The next day, he came back to me almost speechless as his salary had been doubled! Then he said I should speak another word, and I jokingly responded, “Do you want to collect the company from the owners?”

Beloved, I pray that my Father will surprise you with rapid promotions, in Jesus’ name.

    KEY POINT:
Nothing and no one can limit a man whom God has decided to promote.

HYMNAL 20 - I'M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY
    1. I'm pressing on the upward way, New heights I'm gaining
everyday; Still praying as I onward bound "Lord, plant my feet on higher ground."

    CHORUS:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven's table-land; Where love, and joy, and light abound, Lord, plant my feet on higher
    ground.

    2. My heart has no desire to stay where doubts arise, and fears dismay; though some may dwell where these abound, My constant aim is higher ground.

    CHORUS:

    3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise, to rest beneath unclouded skies, above earth's turmoil peace is found By those who dwell on higher ground.

    CHORUS:

    4. I long to scale the utmost height, Though rough the way, and hard the fight, My song, while climbing, shall resound Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

    CHORUS:

    5. Lord, lead me up the mountain side I dare not climb without my Guide; And, heaven gained, I'll gaze around, With grateful heart from higher ground.

    CONTEND FOR THE FAITH!

    TEXT: JUDE 1:1–25

    KEY VERSE:

«“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” — Jude 1:3 (KJV)»

The Christian faith is precious, powerful, and worth defending. In his short but powerful letter, Jude warned believers about false teachers and ungodly influences that had entered among God's people.

Jude's message is simple but urgent:

DO NOT GIVE UP THE FAITH!

We live in a world where truth is often questioned, biblical values are increasingly challenged, and many voices compete for our attention.

But the believer is called to remain rooted in God's Word and to earnestly contend for the faith.

    THREE LESSONS FROM JUDE

    CONTEND FOR THE FAITH.

    Jude 1:3 says:

«“...earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”»

To contend for the faith does not mean fighting people. It means standing firmly for the truth of God's Word.

Don't abandon biblical truth because it is unpopular.

Don't compromise your convictions because of pressure.

Don't change God's standards simply because society has changed.

Stand for Christ. Stand for truth. Stand for the Gospel.

    BEWARE OF UNGODLY INFLUENCES.

Jude warned that certain ungodly people had secretly entered among the believers.

Their presence was dangerous because they could influence others away from the truth.

This teaches us that not every teaching, philosophy, lifestyle, or spiritual message should be accepted without examination.

Test what you hear against Scripture.
    🏽 Ask God for discernment.
    Watch the influences around you.
    Protect your relationship with Christ.

Be careful what you allow to shape your thinking.

    BUILD YOURSELF UP SPIRITUALLY.

Jude 1:20–21 gives believers a powerful instruction:

«“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God...”»

    Notice the progression:

    Build yourself on the faith.
🏽 Pray in the Holy Ghost.
    Keep yourself in God's love.
Look for the mercy of Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

A strong Christian life does not happen accidentally.

You must intentionally develop your relationship with God.

    Pray.

    Study the Word.

    Worship.

    Obey God.

    Stay connected to Christ.

    DON'T COMPROMISE YOUR FAITH

The pressure to compromise can come from many directions.

    Friends may pressure you.

    Society may pressure you.

    Relationships may pressure you.

    Entertainment may pressure you.

Even people who claim to know God may pressure you.

    But remember:

Your faith is more valuable than acceptance from people.

Never exchange eternal truth for temporary popularity.

    Never exchange holiness for pleasure.

Never exchange your relationship with Christ for worldly approval.

HAVE MERCY ON THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING

Jude does not only tell believers to defend the faith; he also teaches us how to respond to people who are struggling.

    Jude 1:22 says:

«“And of some have compassion, making a difference.”»

There are people who need correction, but they also need compassion.

There are people who have wandered, but they can still be restored.

There are people who are confused, but God can use you to lead them back to truth.

Therefore, stand firmly for truth while showing the love of Christ.

KEEP YOURSELF IN THE LOVE OF GOD

    Jude 1:21 says:

«“Keep yourselves in the love of God...”»

This does not mean that God's love is weak or that we must earn His love.

It is a call to remain in fellowship and obedience to Him.

Don't allow sin to become your lifestyle.

Don't allow bitterness to occupy your heart.

Don't allow worldly desires to take the place of Christ.

    Stay close to Jesus.

GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU

The letter of Jude ends with one of the most beautiful declarations of God's power:

«“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy...” — Jude 1:24»

    What a powerful assurance!

    We are called to contend.

    We are called to watch.

    We are called to pray.

We are called to remain faithful.

But ultimately, God is the One who keeps us. 🏽

When you feel weak, He can strengthen you.

When you are tempted, He can help you.

When you are discouraged, He can restore you.

When you are struggling, He can keep you from falling.

    ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

A believer who knows the value of the Gospel will stand firmly for the truth, walk faithfully with Christ, and never trade eternal truth for temporary approval.

    🏽 PRAYER

    Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the precious gift of salvation and for the faith You have entrusted to us.

Give me grace to earnestly contend for the faith. Help me to recognize false teachings and ungodly influences. Give me spiritual discernment to know what is true and courage to stand for Your Word.

Build me up in my most holy faith. Teach me to pray consistently and keep me in Your love.

Help me to show compassion to those who are struggling and to point them back to Jesus.

Lord, keep me from falling. Preserve my faith, strengthen my walk, and help me remain faithful until the end.

To You be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, both now and forever. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. 🏽

✝️ THE GOSPEL FROM CALVARY 📅 Monday, 17th August, 2026 🚨 CONTEND FOR THE FAITH! ✝️🔥 📜 TEXT: JUDE 1:1–25 📜 🔑📖 KEY VERSE: «“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” — Jude 1:3 (KJV)» The Christian faith is precious, powerful, and worth defending. In his short but powerful letter, Jude warned believers about false teachers and ungodly influences that had entered among God's people. Jude's message is simple but urgent: DO NOT GIVE UP THE FAITH! 🔥 We live in a world where truth is often questioned, biblical values are increasingly challenged, and many voices compete for our attention. But the believer is called to remain rooted in God's Word and to earnestly contend for the faith. 🔥 THREE LESSONS FROM JUDE 1️⃣ CONTEND FOR THE FAITH. 🛡️📖 Jude 1:3 says: «“...earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”» To contend for the faith does not mean fighting people. It means standing firmly for the truth of God's Word. Don't abandon biblical truth because it is unpopular. Don't compromise your convictions because of pressure. Don't change God's standards simply because society has changed. Stand for Christ. Stand for truth. Stand for the Gospel. ✝️🔥 2️⃣ BEWARE OF UNGODLY INFLUENCES. ⚠️ Jude warned that certain ungodly people had secretly entered among the believers. Their presence was dangerous because they could influence others away from the truth. This teaches us that not every teaching, philosophy, lifestyle, or spiritual message should be accepted without examination. 📖 Test what you hear against Scripture. 🙏🏽 Ask God for discernment. 👀 Watch the influences around you. ❤️‍🔥 Protect your relationship with Christ. Be careful what you allow to shape your thinking. 3️⃣ BUILD YOURSELF UP SPIRITUALLY. 🏗️🔥 Jude 1:20–21 gives believers a powerful instruction: «“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God...”» Notice the progression: 📖 Build yourself on the faith. 🙏🏽 Pray in the Holy Ghost. ❤️ Keep yourself in God's love. 👑 Look for the mercy of Jesus Christ unto eternal life. A strong Christian life does not happen accidentally. You must intentionally develop your relationship with God. Pray. Study the Word. Worship. Obey God. Stay connected to Christ. 🛡️ DON'T COMPROMISE YOUR FAITH The pressure to compromise can come from many directions. Friends may pressure you. Society may pressure you. Relationships may pressure you. Entertainment may pressure you. Even people who claim to know God may pressure you. But remember: Your faith is more valuable than acceptance from people. Never exchange eternal truth for temporary popularity. Never exchange holiness for pleasure. Never exchange your relationship with Christ for worldly approval. ❤️‍🔥 HAVE MERCY ON THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING Jude does not only tell believers to defend the faith; he also teaches us how to respond to people who are struggling. Jude 1:22 says: «“And of some have compassion, making a difference.”» There are people who need correction, but they also need compassion. There are people who have wandered, but they can still be restored. There are people who are confused, but God can use you to lead them back to truth. Therefore, stand firmly for truth while showing the love of Christ. ❤️‍🩹✝️ 🔥 KEEP YOURSELF IN THE LOVE OF GOD Jude 1:21 says: «“Keep yourselves in the love of God...”» This does not mean that God's love is weak or that we must earn His love. It is a call to remain in fellowship and obedience to Him. Don't allow sin to become your lifestyle. Don't allow bitterness to occupy your heart. Don't allow worldly desires to take the place of Christ. Stay close to Jesus. 👑 GOD IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU The letter of Jude ends with one of the most beautiful declarations of God's power: «“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy...” — Jude 1:24» What a powerful assurance! We are called to contend. We are called to watch. We are called to pray. We are called to remain faithful. But ultimately, God is the One who keeps us. 🙏🏽🔥 When you feel weak, He can strengthen you. When you are tempted, He can help you. When you are discouraged, He can restore you. When you are struggling, He can keep you from falling. ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A believer who knows the value of the Gospel will stand firmly for the truth, walk faithfully with Christ, and never trade eternal truth for temporary approval. 🔥✝️ 🙏🏽 PRAYER Heavenly Father, Thank You for the precious gift of salvation and for the faith You have entrusted to us. 🙏🏽🔥 📜 THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: PSALMS 73–75 📖 ✝️ THE CALVARY MINISTRY ONLINE Birthright is Evangelism

    Isaiah 6:1-10

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15.
In the vision that came to Isaiah in the temple court, he was given a clear view of the character of the God of Israel. “The high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy,” had appeared before him in great majesty; yet the prophet was made to understand the compassionate nature of his Lord....

In beholding his God, the prophet ... had not only been given a view of his own unworthiness; there had come to his humbled heart the assurance of forgiveness, full and free; and he had arisen a changed man. He had seen his Lord. He had caught a glimpse of the loveliness of the divine character. He could testify of the transformation wrought through beholding Infinite Love. Henceforth he was inspired with longing desire to see erring Israel set free from the burden and penalty of sin. “Why should ye be stricken any more?” the prophet inquired. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” ... The God whom they had been claiming to serve, but whose character they had misunderstood, was set before them as the great Healer of spiritual disease....

The heart of Infinite Love yearns after those who feel powerless to free themselves from the snares of Satan; and He graciously offers to strengthen them to live for Him. “Fear thou not,” He bids them; “for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee: yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.” ...

Have you, reader, chosen your own way? Have you wandered far from God? Have you sought to feast upon the fruits of transgression, only to find them turn to ashes upon your lips? ... Return to your Father's house. He invites you, saying, “Return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” “Come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live.” 25Prophets and Kings, 314-320.

TOPIC: THE WEIGHT OF COVENANTS, PART 2

    MEMORIZE:
"Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:" Exodus 19:5 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

    MESSAGE:
Holiness is living a life that reflects God’s character, and it is the major weight of a covenant with Him.

Anyone who is in a covenant with God must be like Him (1 Peter 1:16), and this requires doing all that He asks. In return, the fellow will get many blessings from Him (Deuteronomy 28:1-14).

Some people think that life will become a bed of roses when they become believers; however, Jesus never promised that. In today’s Bible reading, He said that everyone who comes to Him should carry His yoke. This means that being a child of God does not mean that a fellow will not bear any weight of God’s covenant, only that the weight will be light and easy to carry with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 2:13 says. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” God is willing able to fulfil the terms of your covenant with Him if you allow Him.

When you enter into a covenant with God, you will no longer be permitted to do many of the things that unbelievers do. For them, those things may be right, but not for you. Paul said that although all things are lawful, not all things are expedient (1 Corinthians 10:23).

Some people may argue that listening to worldly music is not a sin; however, for someone who has made a covenant with God, it is wrong. Some may dress seductively, but God will not approve of you dressing like that. You will get stricter instructions because of your covenant with God, but He will always empower you to obey Him.

The good news is that if you carry the weight of God’s covenant well, you will enjoy its fruits forever.

God entered into a covenant with my Father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi and gave him certain conditions, and in return, He said that He would start a church through him that would spread around the world. Thank God Pa Akindayomi met those conditions, and when he passed away, God proceeded to fulfil His part of the covenant.

Beloved, play your own part; carry the light yoke of God’s covenant of salvation and see Him move into action to fulfil His part of the covenant by showering you with His blessings. I pray that your life will be filled with God’s glorious blessings, in Jesus’ name.

    PRAYER POINT:
Dear Father, please help me to carry the light yoke of your covenant willingly and joyfully. Help me to be holy as You are holy, in Jesus’ name.

HYMNAL 14: O WHAT A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL DAY
    1 O what a wonderful, wonderful
    day, day I will never forget;
    After I'd wandered in darkness
away, Jesus my Savior I met.
    O what a tender, compassionate
    friend, He met the need of my heart;
    Shadows dispelling, with
joy I am telling, He made
    all the darkness depart.

    Heaven came down and glory
    filled my soul,
When at the cross the Savior
    made me whole;
My sins were washed away and
my night was turned to day,
    Heaven came down and glory
    filled my soul!

2 Born of the Spirit with life from
    above into God's family divine,
    Justified fully thru Calvary's
love, O what a standing is mine!
And the transaction so quickly was
made, when as a sinner I came,
Took of the offer, of grace
    He did proffer, He saved
me, O praise His dear name!

    Heaven came down and glory
    filled my soul,
When at the cross the Savior
    made me whole;
My sins were washed away and
my night was turned to day,
    Heaven came down and glory
    filled my soul!

3 Now I've a hope that will surely
    endure after the passing of time;
I have a future in heaven for sure
    there in those mansions sublime.
And it's because of that wonderful
    day, when at the cross I believed;
    Riches eternal and blessings supernal,
from His precious hand I received.

    Heaven came down and glory
    filled my soul,
When at the cross the Savior
    made me whole;
My sins were washed away and
my night was turned to day,
    Heaven came down and glory
    filled my soul!

  • DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 227
    DATE: 15TH AUGUST 2026
TOPIC: COME BACK TO THE FATHER
    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:Psalm 103:3 (NLT)
“He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”
    Devotional message:

One of the greatest revelations we can receive about the heart of God is that His mercy is greater than our failures. The Psalmist declares that the Lord forgives all our sins, reminding us that no matter how far we have wandered or how seriously we have fallen, there is still an invitation to return to God through genuine repentance.

Perhaps you have drifted far from the Lord. Perhaps there are things you have done that you are ashamed of, or secret failures that have made you believe that God could never receive you again. But child of God, your sin is not a reason to remain in sin. It is a reason to return to the Father.

God gives us a beautiful invitation through the prophet Isaiah:Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow.”

Notice that God does not tell the sinner to clean himself before coming. He says, “Come.” Restoration begins when we respond to His invitation.

The Apostle John gives us further assurance:1 John 1:9 (NKJV)“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

God's forgiveness is not based on how deserving we feel. It is based on His faithfulness and the finished work of Christ. Therefore, do not allow shame and condemnation to keep you hidden from the One who desires to restore you.

Consider the prodigal son. He believed that his failure had disqualified him from being a son and that perhaps the best he could become was a servant. Yet when he returned, his father ran to meet him, embraced him, clothed him, and restored him to his place.

This is a picture of the heart of our Heavenly Father.

The enemy may tell you, “You have gone too far.” God says, “Come back.”The enemy may tell you, “You are no longer worthy to be called His child.” The Father says, “Return to Me.”The enemy may tell you, “You must remain in your shame.” Christ offers forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration.

Child of God, do not continue hiding in the same sin simply because you have already fallen. Do not allow one failure to become a lifestyle. Come back to the Lord. Confess your sin. Repent. Receive His forgiveness. Allow Him to cleanse you and begin again.

When God forgives, He does not forgive you so that you can continue living in the same bondage; He forgives you so that you can rise and walk in freedom.

As Jesus said:John 8:36 (NKJV)“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not have to determine where you are going. There is restoration in the Father's house.

    PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unfailing mercy and abundant forgiveness. Thank You that my failures do not make You stop loving me. Give me the grace to come before You honestly, confess my sins, and turn away from every wrong path.Help me to live from this day forward in obedience, holiness, and intimate fellowship with You.In Jesus' name, Amen.

Give me the grace to come before You honestly, confess my sins, and turn away from every wrong path.Help me to live from this day forward in obedience, holiness, and intimate fellowship with You.In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏 DAILY BIBLE READING Luke 15:11–24,John 8:31–36 Author : Alfred Wabuko Manyasi Contact : Email : Dominionvoicesminisrty[gmail].com Facebook : Alfred Wabuko Manyasi 🌐 Dominion Daily Devotion, 2026 © Dominion Voices Ministry

    The Need To Belong
So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials and the common people for registration by families.

    Nehemiah 7:5a
It was necessary to ensure that only true Israelites lived within Jerusalem. There follows a list of names of all the families of those who came back from Persia to Jerusalem under the leadership of Ezra, some thirty years before the time of Nehemiah. These were among the ones who helped him build the wall. He is not only giving credit to them but is also recognizing that they will be responsible to carry on what he has begun. So having appointed leaders who would succeed him--men of integrity, courage, and faithfulness--he now sees to it that their followers are also true Israelites.

The spiritual application is that we need to know that we really belong to God. You will never be a successful servant of Christ nor ever faithfully work for Him and serve Him until you are assured that you know Him and belong to Him. This is not only necessary for leaders but for the common people as well. We all need to know our spiritual pedigree; otherwise, our service will be weak and largely ineffective.

Verse 61 lists some who could not prove their ancestry and were therefore not permitted to live in the city of Jerusalem. Certain ones among the priests were denied the right to minister because they could not prove their ancestry. Many try to minister in the church of God today who are uncertain that they belong to God. Sometimes pastors, seminary professors, and leaders in the Christian community do not themselves know that they are true Christians. These always wreak havoc in the churches they seek to serve.

The reference to the Urim and Thummim is interesting (Nehemiah 7:65). These were two stones (their names mean lights and perfections) that the high priest wore on his garment by which he could discern the mind of God. No one really knows how they worked. Nehemiah says these suspect priests were not allowed to minister until a high priest arrives who has the Urim and Thummim. I think this is a hidden reference to our Lord Jesus. In the book of Hebrews, Jesus is said to be a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 6:20), meaning one who lives forever and who fully knows the mind of God. He can restore suspect priests to a place of assurance in their ministry and give them back their office. He can bring them the assurance that they belong.

Father, thank You that I can rely on the promise of Your Word that I do belong. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12).

    FRIDAY AUGUST 14, 2026

    STANDING IN COVENANT VICTORY

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD.... ” Isaiah 54:17 NKJV.

When as a believing child of God you keep walking on the path of divine covenant, you should inevitably expect opposition. But don't ever let your heart be troubled. God's Word has already guaranteed your victory. The enemy may throw tantrums, and even form weapons, but they cannot prevail against you (unless with your active faithless conivance). As a covenant child of God, no Satanic agenda against you shall see the light of the day, they will all backfire because God Himself is your Shield.

Your confidence as a believing child of God should not be in the absence of battles but in the divine assurance of triumph. When God, our Father, even the Mighty One in battle, garrisons you with His fire, every arrow of darkness misses its target. No enchantment, invocation, or act of sorcery can overturn God's blessings upon you.
You are divinely insured by the covenant of the Blood.

If you ever feel under attack spiritually, emotionally, or physically. Just stand firm in faith and know that you are untouchable under God’s covering.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

Father LORD, thank You for Your great grace and mercy upon my life. Grant that I'd walk in divine protection, victory, and authority through the LORD Jesus.

    FURTHER READING:

    Romans :37; Matthew 4:1-11; Ephesians 6:10-13; Psalm 91:1-2.
