GLORIOUS 2026 NEW YEAR SERMON 1ST JANUARY 2026 LESSON: Malachi 3:16-18 TOPIC: 2026: YEAR OF GREATER TESTIMONY TEXT: Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him. Malachi 3:18 (NKJV) INTRODUCTION: Some years feel ordinary. You live them, you move on. But there are other years that arrive with a sense of divine weight. I honestly believe 2026 is one of those years. A year that will remember people. A year that will wipe tears. But also… a year that will expose wickedness. Like a two-edged sword. So maybe the question we should all quietly ask ourselves is simple: Where do I really stand with God? May the message bring joy and happiness into your life in Jesus name. [1]. GOD REMEMBERS HIS OWN Mordecai served faithfully. He did the right thing. He protected the king. And then…. No reward. No recognition. Nothing. But one night, the King could not sleep, and the Book of Remembrance was opened. Esther 6:1-3. That is how God works sometimes. He watches. He records. And then, at the right time, He remembers. In 2026, many who have loved God quietly… prayed quietly… given quietly… obeyed quietly… will discover that nothing was wasted. The tears. The sacrifices. The seasons that felt forgotten. God says, “I remembered.” And when God remembers, He doesn’t whisper it. He makes it visible. He brings honor where there was neglect. He restores dignity where there was delay. I think that’s hope for someone who has waited a long time. Malachi 3:16 [2]. THE FAITHFUL WILL BE CELEBRATED There are people who have walked with God sincerely, even when it cost them something. In 2026, many of such people will be openly lifted. God delights in turning quiet obedience into loud testimony. He will cause righteousness to shine like light… not because anyone fought for recognition, but because God Himself steps in and says, “It is time.” Psalm 37:5-6 Unfulfilled dreams. Abandoned projects. Long prayers that seemed unanswered. This is a year where God breathes again on what looked buried. It will not be by human push or manipulation, but by divine remembrance. Many will simply say, “This can only be God.” [3]. A WARNING TO THE WICKED ( Revelation 22:11-12) But God also speaks with a sober voice. To those who delight in evil… who oppress, destroy, manipulate, and mock His name… He says, “Repent.” Because the days of wickedness are numbered and vengeance is mine. Romans 12:19. Also, Revelation 22:11-12 reminds us that the Lord is coming with reward and judgment. If people insist on wickedness, this same year that blesses the righteous will confront the evil-doer. It is still mercy that God warns before He judges. But judgment is real. CONCLUSION: 2026 A YEAR OF DIVIDING LINE! So, 2026 stands as a dividing line. A Year of Greater Testimony for those who love God. A Year of Vengeance for those who hate His ways. The choice… is ours. PRAYER: Lord, remember me in 2026. Let my life enter Your Book of Remembrance. Help me walk sincerely with You. Deliver me from every path of wickedness. Amen. What Does Heaven Record About You? Every man on earth is writing a story—whether he knows it or not. Heaven is keeping records. Your actions, motives, words, faithfulness, obedience, and even silence are all documented before God. The question today is simple but eternal: What does Heaven record about you? The records of men may be false, biased, or incomplete, but the records of Heaven are perfect, pure, and permanent. What Heaven writes about you matters more than what men say about you. Revelation 20:12; Malachi 3:16; Hebrews 4:13 1. HEAVEN KEEPS DETAILED RECORDS Revelation 20:12 – “And the books were opened… and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books.” Heaven does not record general ideas; Heaven records specifics. * Your works * Your choices * Your obedience or rebellion * Your opportunities and how you used them * Your service to God and mankind No one escapes Heaven’s documentation. 2. HEAVEN RECORDS YOUR WORDS Matthew 12:36 – “Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” Your words leave marks in the spirit: * Words of encouragement or discouragement * Words of truth or lies * Words of purity or corruption * Words that build the kingdom or destroy destinies What does Heaven record when you speak? 3. HEAVEN RECORDS YOUR SECRET LIFE Hebrews 4:13 – “All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” What men cannot see, Heaven sees clearly. * Secret sins * Secret sacrifices * Secret motives * Secret prayers * Secret addictions * Secret love for God Heaven’s records are not just about what you do, but why you do them. 4. HEAVEN RECORDS YOUR SERVICE TO GOD 📌 Malachi 3:16 – “A book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord and thought upon His name.” Heaven keeps a “Book of Remembrance” for kingdom workers. Does Heaven record you as: * A faithful servant or a casual observer? * A soul winner or a silent believer? * A cheerful giver or a complainer? * A worshipper or a spectator? Many serve God only when watched by men. Heaven records who truly serves from the heart. 5. HEAVEN RECORDS YOUR LOVE FOR SOULS Daniel 12:3 – “They that turn many to righteousness shall shine as stars forever.” Every soul you win is recorded. Every soul you ignore is also recorded. Some Christians are known in Heaven as “soul winners”; others as “silent believers.” What is Heaven’s record about you? 6. HEAVEN RECORDS YOUR GIVING AND GENEROSITY Acts 10:4 – The angel said to Cornelius, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.” Heaven records: * Your generosity to the poor * Your support for the Gospel * Your giving to missions * Your kindness to strangers * God sees what you give and what you withhold. 7. HEAVEN RECORDS YOUR FAITHFULNESS 1 Corinthians 4:2 – “It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.” Faithfulness appears frequently in Heaven’s books. Are you consistent? Or do you serve God only when life is comfortable? Heaven’s question: Are you faithful? 8. WHAT WILL BE WRITTEN ABOUT YOU? Heaven may be writing one of these: “A faithful servant” “A soul winner” “A generous giver” “A prayerful Christian” “A lukewarm believer” “A secret sinner” “A pretender in church” “A lover of God” “A waster of divine opportunities” What is Heaven writing about you right now? 9. HEAVEN ALSO RECORDS REPENTANCE Luke 15:7 – “There is joy in Heaven over one sinner that repents.” If your record has been wrong, it can still change today. Heaven rejoices and updates your record when you repent. 10. HOW TO CHANGE YOUR HEAVENLY RECORD * Surrender your life fully to Jesus * Reject secret sin * Become a soul winner * Serve God faithfully * Watch your words * Live for eternity, not for the applause of men * Walk in love and holiness * Give generously as led by God Today is the day to rewrite the pages of your life. CONCLUSION There is an eternal book open with your name on it. The question remains: What does Heaven record about you? Let your life be a testimony that brings joy to Heaven and glory to God. PRAYER “Lord, cleanse my record in Heaven. Help me to live a life that pleases You. Let my name and my works bring honor to Your kingdom.
