FORGOTTEN PEOPLE: But God Has Not Forgotten You. One of the deepest pains in life is the pain of being forgotten. Many people are surrounded by crowds but still feel abandoned. Some are forgotten by family, friends, leaders, society, and even people they once helped. Psalm 27:10 — “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” There are people who: Helped others but were abandoned in return Sacrificed for family but received rejection Served faithfully but were never appreciated Cried silently while nobody noticed their pain However, the good news is this: Men may forget you, but God never forgets His own. People may overlook your labor, your tears, your prayers, and your sacrifices, but Heaven keeps records. 1. JOSEPH — THE FORGOTTEN PRISONER Genesis 40:14-15, 23 Joseph interpreted the dream of the butler and asked him to remember him before Pharaoh. But after the butler was restored, he forgot Joseph. Joseph remained in prison for years despite his innocence. Sometimes people you help may forget you Human promises can fail Delay is not denial God may allow isolation before elevation The same Joseph who was forgotten in prison later became ruler in Egypt. Your present condition is not your final destination. 2. HANNAH — THE FORGOTTEN WOMAN 1 Samuel 1:6-20 Hannah was mocked because she had no child. Year after year she cried before God. People saw her pain but could not solve it. But one day, God remembered Hannah. God remembers silent tears Delayed answers are not permanent rejection Your season of mockery can become a season of testimony 1 Samuel 1:19 — “And the Lord remembered her.” 3. THE MAN AT THE POOL OF BETHESDA'S John 5:1-9 This man suffered for 38 years. Nobody helped him into the pool. He said: “I have no man.” He was surrounded by people yet abandoned. But Jesus visited the forgotten man personally. God visits forgotten people Heaven specializes in impossible cases Jesus notices those ignored by society When men reject you, Christ can still locate you. 4. THE THIEF ON THE CROSS Luke 23:39-43 One criminal beside Jesus cried: “Lord, remember me…” Jesus answered him immediately: “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Even in his dying condition, mercy remembered him. It is never too late for God Divine mercy can rewrite a destiny Jesus remembers sincere hearts 5. GOD NEVER FORGETS HIS PEOPLE Isaiah 49:15-16 Psalm 9:18 Hebrews 6:10 God said: “I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.” This means: Your name is known in Heaven Your labor is recorded Your prayers are remembered Your tears are counted Even when nobody appreciates you, God sees everything. SIGNS OF A FORGOTTEN PERSON Repeated abandonment Lack of recognition Feeling isolated Constant disappointment from people Delayed breakthroughs Emotional exhaustion But today, God is changing the story. WHAT GOD DOES FOR FORGOTTEN PEOPLE 1. God remembers them Genesis 8:1 “And God remembered Noah…” 2. God visits them Luke 1:68 3. God restores them Joel 2:25 4. God announces them publicly Esther 6:1-11 Mordecai was forgotten for years, but one night changed everything. HOW TO OVERCOME THE SPIRIT OF REJECTION AND FORGETFULNESS 1. Keep trusting God Do not allow bitterness to destroy your faith. 2. Continue praying Persistent prayer brings divine remembrance. 3. Remain faithful God rewards consistency. 4. Avoid envy Your time will come. 5. Stay connected to God Your relationship with God matters more than human approval. PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS May God remember you this season Every forgotten blessing shall locate you Every closed door shall open Helpers assigned to your destiny shall arise You will not die unnoticed Your testimony shall speak publicly God shall change your story suddenly PRAYER POINTS 1. Prayer for Divine Remembrance Father, remember me for good in Jesus’ name. Reference: Nehemiah 13:31 2. Prayer Against Rejection Every spirit of rejection working against my life, be broken in Jesus’ name. 3. Prayer for Open Doors Lord, connect me to destiny helpers. 4. Prayer for Restoration Father, restore every lost opportunity. Reference: Joel 2:25 5. Prayer for Testimony O Lord, let my season of remembrance begin now. CONCLUSION Men may forget you, but Heaven has your record. Joseph was forgotten but later celebrated. Hannah was mocked but later remembered. The lame man was abandoned but Jesus visited him. The thief on the cross was condemned by men but accepted by Christ. Your present pain is not permanent. God remembers forgotten people. Your season of divine remembrance is coming. GLORIOUS 2026 NEW YEAR SERMON 1ST JANUARY 2026 LESSON: Malachi 3:16-18 TOPIC: 2026: YEAR OF GREATER TESTIMONY TEXT: Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him. Malachi 3:18 (NKJV) INTRODUCTION: Some years feel ordinary. You live them, you move on. But there are other years that arrive with a sense of divine weight. I honestly believe 2026 is one of those years. A year that will remember people. A year that will wipe tears. But also… a year that will expose wickedness. Like a two-edged sword. So maybe the question we should all quietly ask ourselves is simple: Where do I really stand with God? May the message bring joy and happiness into your life in Jesus name. [1]. GOD REMEMBERS HIS OWN Mordecai served faithfully. He did the right thing. He protected the king. And then…. No reward. No recognition. Nothing. But one night, the King could not sleep, and the Book of Remembrance was opened. Esther 6:1-3. That is how God works sometimes. He watches. He records. And then, at the right time, He remembers. In 2026, many who have loved God quietly… prayed quietly… given quietly… obeyed quietly… will discover that nothing was wasted. The tears. The sacrifices. The seasons that felt forgotten. God says, “I remembered.” And when God remembers, He doesn’t whisper it. He makes it visible. He brings honor where there was neglect. He restores dignity where there was delay. I think that’s hope for someone who has waited a long time. Malachi 3:16 [2]. THE FAITHFUL WILL BE CELEBRATED There are people who have walked with God sincerely, even when it cost them something. In 2026, many of such people will be openly lifted. God delights in turning quiet obedience into loud testimony. He will cause righteousness to shine like light… not because anyone fought for recognition, but because God Himself steps in and says, “It is time.” Psalm 37:5-6 Unfulfilled dreams. Abandoned projects. Long prayers that seemed unanswered. This is a year where God breathes again on what looked buried. It will not be by human push or manipulation, but by divine remembrance. Many will simply say, “This can only be God.” [3]. A WARNING TO THE WICKED ( Revelation 22:11-12) But God also speaks with a sober voice. To those who delight in evil… who oppress, destroy, manipulate, and mock His name… He says, “Repent.” Because the days of wickedness are numbered and vengeance is mine. Romans 12:19. Also, Revelation 22:11-12 reminds us that the Lord is coming with reward and judgment. If people insist on wickedness, this same year that blesses the righteous will confront the evil-doer. It is still mercy that God warns before He judges. But judgment is real. CONCLUSION: 2026 A YEAR OF DIVIDING LINE! So, 2026 stands as a dividing line. A Year of Greater Testimony for those who love God. A Year of Vengeance for those who hate His ways. The choice… is ours. PRAYER: Lord, remember me in 2026. Let my life enter Your Book of Remembrance. Help me walk sincerely with You. Deliver me from every path of wickedness. Amen.
