TUESDAY MORNING PRAYER FOR OUR FAMILY! “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15 (KJV) Heavenly Father, in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we come before You on this Tuesday morning with grateful hearts. Thank You for waking us up and giving us another day that we did not earn but received because of Your grace and mercy. Your Word declares, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24. Father, before we ask You for anything, we thank You for everything. Thank You for life. Thank You for strength. Thank You for our families. Thank You for keeping us through dangers seen and unseen. Thank You for the doors You opened, the doors You closed, and even the things You protected us from that we never knew were coming. Lord, as our families begin this Tuesday, go before us. Order our steps, direct our decisions, guard our hearts, protect our homes, and keep Your hand upon every member of our family. Your Word says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6. HEAL OUR FAMILY, LORD Father, this morning we bring before You every family member who is battling sickness—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You know every diagnosis. You know every symptom. You know every pain. You know every sleepless night. You know every private struggle. You know every burden that has become too difficult to explain to others. Father, touch them right now. Your Word declares, “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved.” — Jeremiah 17:14. Lord, stretch forth Your healing hand. Where there is sickness, bring healing. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is weakness, bring strength. Where there is fear, bring faith. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is discouragement, restore hope. Where there are troubled minds, release Your supernatural peace. You promised in Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Father, guard the minds of our family members. Give peace to those overwhelmed by life's pressures. Strengthen those carrying emotional burdens in silence. Remind them that they are seen by You, loved by You, and never beyond the reach of Your hand. Your Word says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3. So, Lord, heal, deliver, restore, and set free! We stand upon Psalm 107:20:“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Send Your Word into every hospital room, rehabilitation center, doctor's office, nursing facility, and every home where healing is needed. Give physicians wisdom. Give nurses compassion. Give caregivers strength. Give families patience. And give those who are sick the courage to keep believing You one day at a time. SAVE OUR FAMILY, LORD Father, our greatest prayer is not simply that our family will be healthy, prosperous, or successful. Our greatest prayer is that our family will know Jesus Christ. We lift before You every family member who has not surrendered their life to Christ. Draw them by Your Spirit. Let somebody who has been running from You begin running toward You. Let somebody who has questioned You begin seeking You. Let somebody who has never prayed begin calling upon Your name. Let somebody ask the same question asked in Acts 16:30: “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And let the answer ring clearly: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” — Acts 16:31. Father, let salvation come into our households! Your Word declares, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13. And Jesus declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6. Lord, let our children know Jesus. Let our grandchildren know Jesus. Let husbands and wives know Jesus. Let our brothers and sisters know Jesus. Let our extended families know Jesus. Break destructive generational patterns and establish a new spiritual legacy—a legacy of faith, prayer, worship, obedience, integrity, forgiveness, and love. May generations after us be able to say, “Our family served the Lord!” PROVIDE FOR OUR FAMILY, LORD Father, we lift every family member who is looking for employment. You know every application submitted, every résumé sent, every interview completed, and every person waiting for someone to call them back. Open the right doors. Give them favor with hiring managers and decision-makers. Lead them to positions where their gifts, abilities, and experience will be appreciated. For those already employed who need promotion, advancement, better opportunities, increased wages, raises, improved benefits, or greater financial stability, we ask You to make a way. Your Word declares, “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge.” — Psalm 75:6–7. Bless the work of our hands, Lord. Let integrity speak for us. Let excellence distinguish us. Let favor surround us. And when You elevate us, keep us humble enough to remember Who opened the door. PROVIDE FOR THOSE STRUGGLING FINANCIALLY Father, we especially pray for family members facing financial pressure. Some are trying to stretch a paycheck. Some are worried about rent or mortgage payments. Some are facing medical bills. Some are dealing with debt. Some need groceries. Some are facing unexpected expenses. Some are working but still struggling to make ends meet. But today we stand upon Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Father, You are our Source. Provide what our families need. Give us wisdom to manage what You provide. Teach us to be disciplined, generous, responsible, and faithful stewards. Give our families creative ideas, opportunities, strategies, and open doors. Where there has been lack, provide. Where there has been financial confusion, give wisdom. Where there has been debt, give us a plan and discipline. Where there has been financial fear, replace it with faith and responsible action. Lord, supply every need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. PROTECT OUR FAMILY THIS TUESDAY Father, as our family members leave their homes today, cover them. Protect those driving to work. Protect those traveling. Protect our children and grandchildren. Protect those working long hours. Protect those caring for loved ones. Protect those going to medical appointments. Protect our homes while we are away. Your Word declares, “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” — Psalm 91:11. Lord, keep us from accidents, danger, violence, and circumstances we cannot see coming. Bring everyone safely home. STRENGTHEN THE LOVE IN OUR FAMILY Father, help us to remember that before careers, money, possessions, accomplishments, titles, and recognition, our greatest responsibility is to love You and love one another. Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” — Matthew 22:37. Lord, You come first. Before our plans—You. Before our ambitions—You. Before our possessions—You. Before everything else—You. And because we love You, teach us how to love one another. Your Word declares, “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.” — 1 John 4:11. Heal broken relationships within our family. Remove bitterness. Destroy unforgiveness. Break down walls caused by pride. Help us apologize when we are wrong. Help us forgive when we have been hurt. Help us communicate with grace. Help us stop allowing small disagreements to create permanent separation. Let husbands and wives love one another. Let parents and children understand one another. Let brothers and sisters support one another. Let generations respect and learn from one another. Lord, make our families stronger, closer, healthier, and more Christ-centered. OUR TUESDAY FAMILY DECLARATION... This Tuesday morning, we declare: Our family belongs to God! We declare healing over our sick. We declare peace over troubled minds. We declare deliverance for those who are bound. We declare salvation for those who do not yet know Jesus. We declare employment for those seeking jobs. We declare favor and increase for those needing advancement. We declare provision for those struggling financially. We declare restoration over broken relationships. We declare protection over our homes and families. We declare love where there has been division. And above everything else, we declare: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15. Father, we may not know everything this Tuesday will bring, but we know Who holds this Tuesday in His hands. Therefore, we trust You. Order our steps. Guard our hearts. Renew our minds. Strengthen our bodies. Provide for our needs. Protect our families. Save our loved ones. Restore our relationships. And let everything we say and do bring glory to Your name. Good evening to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you. Today was nothing like I had imagined it would be. Mind you, we did not really have any ‘plans’ for today with the exception of taking the dog to the vet and me helping my brother on the computer. The rest of the day really was not accounted for. HOWEVER … leave it to us to figure out a way to fill out a day without even trying. Started with hubs getting sick last night and I ended up taking the dog to the vet. Missed my turn and had to turn around on a busy highway. On the way home, I was not really in a hurry, just driving and when I pulled up to the house, there was a random car in my driveway… no clue who or why … except it was my brother … right on time. Brain fart 101. Totally forgot he was coming, even though my stepson and I had just discussed it. Get inside to help my brother in a computer/tech assistant nightmare for his new job. 2.5 hours later, we think we figured it out. In the middle of that, we get a notice that hubs needs blood work before his appointment tomorrow…we forgot. No worries, plan to go to the new park on the west side, drop kids off, go to get blood work, pick up lunch, have a picnic in the park, then go home after playing. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. What a funny plan. Dropped kids off, no problem. Get to the lab; they were closed. Then they opened the doors, only to tell us that they were still closed. Stopped and got lunch for the kids, drove to the lab’s second office. Get to that lab only to be told, sorry can’t help you; go to the hospital. By now, hubs is starving … haha … go get a sandwich, then the hospital; he gets labs, and I get a cold sandwich. While at the hospital, get notified that the dog is ready to be picked up … the vet is in the opposite direction of the park, and then meds need to be picked up also; fortunately meds and vet are in the same town. By now it is going on 3 p.m.; no time to go back and play at the park. A completely full day…but wait…I am not done yet; we get home and because it is supposed to rain tomorrow…take advantage of the good day and mow. Finish mowing at 9 pm. All of this because I did not make plans. Haha. But … with all that chaos and nonsense that went along with the chaos, there were plenty of laughs, a few arguments, some severe rolling of the eyes and lots of blessings. Even with the chaos, things got done respectfully; kids got to go to their favorite park and have McDonald's, the dog is now talon-free and clean and we got notified that our appointment was moved up by half an hour. All positives. Just because something does not roll down the hill the way that you think it will or should, does not make it bad or a negative. There were plenty of negative aspects to today, but not one of them overshadowed a millimeter of the positives. Each day we have a choice to make: see the positive or see the negative. If you see the positive, it is a great day; if you see the negative, you have a choice … focus on the negative or look for a positive in or from the negative. If you focus on the negative, you will have a bad day; however, if you look for a positive within the negative or because of the negative, you will have a good day. As you prepare for bed tonight, I urge you to look back on your day and see what kind of day you think you had. Look at each component and how many negatives come to mind first…then how many positives? If you are seeing the negatives over the positives, try realigning your sights so that the positives come to mind first. It makes for a much more peaceful mindset. I will confess that it takes some time and practice, but it can be done. Be blessed and good night. **You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 🌿 Mystical Gardens Tale 🌿 The Cooling Waters Jill had decided that summer had officially become personal. The heat had been unbearable for days. Not the pleasant kind of summer warmth that made people want to sit outside with a cold drink. This was the kind of heat that seemed to crawl beneath your skin and stay there. Jill woke up irritated. She stepped outside and immediately began sweating. “Wonderful,” she muttered. “It's going to be another one of those days.” Her car wouldn't start. “Of course it won't.” The air conditioner at work wasn't working properly. “Of course it isn't.” Someone had left a door open, letting hot air into the building. “Who does that?” Then someone accidentally bumped into her in the hallway. “Watch where you're going!” The woman stopped and stared at Jill. “I'm sorry.” Jill walked away without answering. She didn't notice the hurt look on the woman's face. By lunchtime, Jill was ready to scream. The restaurant was crowded. Someone's child was crying. A man at the next table was talking too loudly. The waitress brought Jill the wrong drink. “This isn't what I ordered.” “I apologize. I'll get you another one.” “And could you please get it right this time?” The waitress's smile disappeared. Jill didn't notice. Or perhaps she did, but she was too irritated to care. Everything seemed to bother her. A phone ringing. A dog barking. Someone chewing too loudly. A car driving too slowly. A person looking at her for what Jill was certain was too long. “What are you looking at?” she snapped. The man quickly looked away. By late afternoon, Jill was exhausted. And angry. Mostly angry. She couldn't even explain why anymore. All she knew was that everything was getting on her nerves. Then, on her way home, Jill saw something she hadn't seen before. A narrow path between two old trees. It hadn't been there yesterday. Jill stopped. She stared at it. Beyond the trees was a faint green glow. Normally, she would have walked away. But today she was hot, tired, frustrated, and completely out of patience and whatever was there had to be better than here, so she stepped onto the path. Within moments, the world changed. The heat disappeared. Jill stopped walking. A cool breeze brushed across her face. She closed her eyes. “Oh…” She hadn't realized how badly she needed that. The garden stretched out before her. Tall trees formed a canopy overhead. Little streams wound between moss-covered stones. Flowers opened beneath the shade, and somewhere nearby, water trickled over smooth rocks. There were no car horns. No ringing phones. No barking dogs. No crying children. No voices demanding anything from her. Just quiet. Beautiful, peaceful quiet. Jill sat beside the stream and dipped her hands into the cool water. For the first time all day, her shoulders relaxed. She took a deep breath. Then another. And suddenly, something uncomfortable happened... She began remembering. The woman in the hallway. “Watch where you're going!” The waitress. “Could you please get it right this time?” The man at the restaurant. “What are you looking at?” Her coworker. “Who does that?” One memory after another came rushing back. Jill lowered her head. “Oh no.” She hadn't simply been having a bad day. She had been handing that bad day to everyone around her. She had taken her frustration, her discomfort, and her exhaustion and thrown them at people who hadn't caused any of it. The garden remained silent. But Jill had the strange feeling that the giant tree at the center of the garden was watching her. “I was miserable,” she whispered. A leaf drifted down beside her. Jill picked it up. “I was hot. I was tired. Everything was going wrong.” She sighed. “But that doesn't mean I had to make everybody else miserable too.” The breeze moved gently through the branches. Jill smiled sadly. “You know what's worse?” She looked toward the path. “I don't even know if any of them deserved an apology from me.” She paused. “Of course they do.” For the first time that day, Jill laughed at herself. She had spent hours thinking everyone else was the problem. But the garden had given her something the heat never could. Perspective. Jill stood. “I can't undo what I said.” She looked toward the great tree. “But I can go back and do better.” The garden seemed to grow a little brighter. Jill stepped onto the path. The heat returned when she reached the other side. But something inside her had changed. The temperature hadn't changed. Her circumstances hadn't changed. Her car was still broken. The air conditioner still wasn't working. Tomorrow might be just as hot. But Jill wasn't going to let the heat decide who she was. The next morning, she found the woman from the hallway. “I'm sorry,” Jill said. The woman looked surprised. “For yesterday. You didn't deserve the way I spoke to you.” Then Jill found the waitress. She apologized there too. And when someone accidentally bumped into her later that afternoon, Jill felt irritation rising inside her. She opened her mouth. Then stopped. She took a breath. “It's okay,” she said. The person smiled. And Jill smiled back. That evening, Jill returned to the garden. She sat beneath the great tree with her feet beside the cool stream. “Thank you,” she whispered. She finally understood something the garden had been trying to teach her. Sometimes we are uncomfortable. Sometimes we are tired. Sometimes the world seems to be working against us. And sometimes we have every reason to be frustrated. But our circumstances may explain why we're hurting without giving us permission to hurt someone else. The garden could cool Jill's skin. But only she could choose to cool the anger in her heart. And that choice was worth far more than a cool breeze. But you can choose what you do with the frustration those things create inside you. Before you hand your bad day to someone else, stop. Breathe. Cool down. TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TOPIC: WHEN FAITH MEETS FINANCIAL PRESSURE. Key Scripture: «“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19» There are moments when faith is easy to confess—but difficult to practice. It is easy to say, “God will provide,” when there is food in the kitchen, money in the account, and every bill is under control. But what happens when the rent is due, school fees are waiting, your business is struggling, your salary is not enough, and you have more needs than resources? That is when faith meets financial pressure. Financial pressure can test your patience, your decisions, your relationships, and even your confidence in God. But hear this clearly: Financial pressure is real, but it does not mean that God has abandoned you. The presence of financial difficulty does not mean the absence of God's presence. Sometimes God changes our circumstances immediately. At other times, He gives us wisdom, strength, discipline, opportunities, and endurance to walk through the season. The question is not only, “How will I get money?” The deeper question is: “How will I remain faithful to God while I am under financial pressure?” 1. FINANCIAL PRESSURE MUST NOT DESTROY YOUR FAITH Matthew 6:31–33 Jesus said: «“Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’”» Jesus understood that human beings have genuine needs. He did not say that food, clothing, shelter, or financial needs are unimportant. Rather, He warned us not to allow our needs to become greater than our trust in God. The danger of financial pressure Financial pressure can produce: - Fear - Anxiety - Depression - Desperation - Wrong decisions - Dishonesty - Unnecessary debt - Comparison with others - Loss of spiritual focus But faith says: “I may not know how the provision will come, but I know the God who is my provider.” Faith does not deny the problem. Faith refuses to make the problem bigger than God. 2. FAITH DOES NOT MEAN REFUSING TO PLAN One dangerous misunderstanding among Christians is that faith means doing nothing. No. Faith and wisdom must work together. Proverbs 21:5 says: «“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.”» Joseph is an excellent biblical example. When God revealed that seven years of abundance would be followed by seven years of famine, Joseph did not simply say, “God will take care of us.” He developed a strategy. He stored grain during the years of plenty. When the famine came, Egypt was prepared. Spiritual lesson: Pray like a believer, but plan like a wise steward. Ask God for provision—but also ask Him for wisdom. If you are financially pressured: - Review your spending. - Reduce unnecessary expenses. - Avoid unnecessary debt. - Learn a skill. - Improve your business. - Look for legitimate opportunities. - Save when possible. - Seek wise counsel. - Keep accurate financial records. God can answer prayer through wisdom, work, relationships, opportunities, creativity, and disciplined stewardship. 3. NEVER ALLOW DESPERATION TO PUSH YOU INTO SIN Financial pressure can create dangerous temptations. Someone may say: “I have no choice.” But as a child of God, you always have a choice about your character. You may be under pressure, but you don't have to become dishonest. You may be struggling, but you don't have to steal. You may need money, but you don't have to deceive people. You may be desperate, but you don't have to abandon biblical principles. Proverbs 10:9 «“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.”» Your financial situation may change tomorrow. But the consequences of a wrong decision can remain for years. Never sacrifice your destiny to solve a temporary financial problem. Do not gain money and lose your peace. Do not gain wealth and lose your testimony. Do not solve a financial problem by creating a spiritual problem. 4. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEEDS, WANTS, AND PRESSURE Sometimes financial pressure is caused by genuine poverty. But sometimes it is intensified by comparison. Social media has created a dangerous environment where people constantly see what others are buying, wearing, driving, building, and achieving. You begin to think: “I must have this.” But not everything you desire is something you need. 1 Timothy 6:6 «“But godliness with contentment is great gain.”» Contentment does not mean laziness. Contentment means: “I will thank God for what I have while faithfully working toward what I need.” Don't allow somebody else's lifestyle to become your financial prison. You don't have to compete with everyone. You don't have to impress people. You don't have to buy what you cannot afford simply because others have it. Learn to live within your means while trusting God for increase. 5. REMEMBER THAT GOD CAN USE A DIFFICULT SEASON TO TEACH YOU Some lessons are difficult to learn when everything is comfortable. Financial pressure can teach: - Discipline - Contentment - Creativity - Patience - Responsibility - Compassion - Humility - Better stewardship - Dependence upon God Romans 5:3–4 «“Suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”» This does not mean we should celebrate poverty or refuse legitimate prosperity. It means that God can produce something valuable in us even during difficult seasons. You may be praying for God to change your financial situation. And while you are waiting, God may also be changing you. He may be teaching you how to manage the blessing you are asking Him to give you. BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: THE WIDOW OF ZAREPHATH Read 1 Kings 17:8–16. The widow was facing severe economic hardship. She had only a small amount of flour and oil. She was preparing what she believed would be her final meal. Then Elijah appeared. God instructed her to act in faith. She obeyed. And God sustained her household throughout the famine. What can we learn? The widow had little—but she was obedient. She did not have abundance before she obeyed. Sometimes faith begins with what is already in your hand. You may say: “I don't have much.” Ask: “What do I have?” Perhaps you have: - A skill - A business idea - A talent - Education - Experience - A phone - Creativity - Relationships - Time - A small business - An opportunity you have overlooked Do not despise small beginnings. What looks small in your hand can become significant when surrendered to God and managed wisely. DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS 1. Your bank balance is not your identity. You are more than your financial situation. Having little money does not make you worthless. Having much money does not make you superior. Your ultimate identity is found in Christ. 2. Provision is not always instant. Sometimes God provides a miracle. Sometimes He provides an opportunity. Sometimes He provides wisdom. Sometimes He provides people. Sometimes He provides strength to endure until the door opens. 3. Faith must produce responsible action. James 2:17 teaches that faith without works is dead. Therefore: Pray—but work. Trust—but plan. Believe—but learn. Wait on God—but don't waste your opportunities. 4. Financial pressure is a test, not necessarily a verdict. A difficult season does not mean your story is over. Your current condition is not necessarily your final destination. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. Pray specifically. Don't only say, “Lord, bless me.” Ask: “Lord, give me wisdom to manage what I have and show me legitimate opportunities for increase.” 2. Create a simple budget. Know: - What comes in. - What goes out. - What is necessary. - What can be reduced. - What debts must be addressed. 3. Stop financial comparison. Don't destroy your finances trying to maintain an appearance. 4. Develop yourself. Learn something that can increase your value and earning capacity. 5. Avoid dishonest shortcuts. Your integrity is worth more than temporary money. 6. Give according to biblical wisdom and your actual capacity. Giving should be an expression of love and obedience—not reckless financial irresponsibility or manipulation. 7. Seek wise counsel. Don't make major financial decisions simply because you are emotionally pressured. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. Am I trusting God or allowing fear to control my financial decisions? 2. Am I managing what God has already placed in my hands? 3. Do I have unnecessary expenses that I need to eliminate? 4. Am I comparing my life with others? 5. Have I allowed financial pressure to weaken my prayer life? 6. What skill or opportunity am I currently overlooking? 7. Am I maintaining integrity even when money is scarce? 8. What financial lesson might God be teaching me in this season? POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Father, strengthen my faith when I face financial pressure. 2. Lord, give me wisdom to manage every resource You have placed in my hands. 3 Father, open legitimate doors of opportunity, employment, business, and increase for me. 4. Lord, deliver me from fear, desperation, greed, and financial decisions that can destroy my future. 5. Give me the discipline to distinguish between my needs and my unnecessary desires. 6. Father, give me creative ideas and the courage to act upon them. 7. Lord, provide for every genuine need in my household according to Your will. 8. Give me grace to remain generous, honest, content, and faithful even in difficult seasons. 9. Father, let this financial season produce wisdom, maturity, discipline, and testimony in my life. 10. Lord, let my financial testimony become a testimony of Your faithfulness and not a reason for me to compromise my faith. CALL TO ACTION Beloved, financial pressure can be heavy. But don't let pressure make you forget your Provider. Don't let an empty account produce an empty faith. Don't let delayed provision produce disobedience. Don't let comparison make you despise your journey. And don't let desperation push you into a decision that will destroy tomorrow just to solve today's problem. Trust God. Work diligently. Plan wisely. Live within your means. Keep your integrity. Develop yourself. Pray continually. Many think pray can only be heard if you are on your knees, but God hears your prayers whether or not you are kneeling, standing, sitting, driving in a car, or taking a shower. Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you. For the longest time in my life, my prayer life was all but non-existent. I believed in prayer, I valued prayer, but I always seemed to get bored in prayer. I would start to nod off. I would get distracted. I would attempt to be better by using big fancy words because, for some reason, I thought that was how you were supposed to be in prayer. And then even though I said I would pray for you, I would forget about it when I got to a ‘prayer’ moment in my day. My prayer life really kicked rocks. Then I learned that prayer did not have to be lofty or full of big fancy words. It was suggested that I pick a time of day for every day to make a routine of having a conversation with God. So, I made my time driving to work my prayer time. I made a valiant effort at it; however, since I was a workaholic, my mind would shift into details of work and what I needed to prepare for in the day. Though it improved slightly, it still kicked rocks. I am not sure what changed in my thoughts and desires other than I wanted a better prayer life, I wanted better communication with Him, and I wanted more of His Peace. It was then that I started the before my head hits the pillow at night and before my feet hit the floor in the morning, I will give thanks for my blessings. I will offer up prayers of protection and healing. I will add to my prayer those who have asked for prayer. And … when I am done with my prayer, I will close with the Lord’s prayer. Now, the Lord’s prayer is a model of how we are to pray, not just a prayer. We acknowledge Him in his glory both on earth and in heaven. Then we ask for his wisdom and his protection and his forgiveness. We then close by giving honor to his might. In saying this model prayer, my mind will drift here and there, at which point I will remember areas that I forgot to pray about, and I can stop in mid-prayer, go back to my prayer, and make the additions, then start the Lord’s prayer again. It is a great reminder for me to stay on track. In following this thought process of prayer, I have had a steady pace and consistency for prayer. With that consistency, I have found balance and peace. With balance and peace, my days are so much smoother … even when the storm rages. I do not. I want to encourage you to find a routine to improve your prayer life, or to start a prayer routine in your life. This concept that I follow may not work for you; however, if you ask Him for guidance, He will give you ideas. Trust in Him and He will guide you. Prayer is a powerful tool to hold off the enemy. Be blessed. **I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” –Psalm 91:2
