• EVERYONE SAW A DONKEY...

GOD SAW A PROPHET WHO COULDN'T.

    His name was Balaam.

    He was a prophet.

    He could hear God's voice.

    Or so everyone thought.

A king named Balak offered Balaam great wealth to curse Israel.

God warned Balaam not to go.

Later, God permitted him to go under certain conditions, but Balaam's heart was still set on the reward.

As Balaam rode toward Moab, the Angel of the Lord stood in the road with a drawn sword.

    Balaam didn't see Him.

    But his donkey did.

Three times the donkey turned aside to save Balaam's life.

Three times Balaam beat the animal.

Then God did something no one expected.

    He opened the donkey's mouth.

    The animal spoke.

Only after that did God open Balaam's eyes.

    And suddenly...

The prophet saw what the donkey had seen all along.

    Here's the deeper revelation.

    The greatest blindness isn't physical.

    It's spiritual.

Balaam had the title of a prophet...

But he couldn't see what God was doing because his heart had been captured by something else.

God used the most unlikely messenger to stop him.

Not because the donkey was extraordinary...

But because God can use anything to reach a heart that's willing to listen.

Sometimes we're asking God to speak louder...

While ignoring what He's already using to get our attention.

    LESSON

Don't become so focused on your destination that you miss God's warnings along the way.

A humble heart sees what pride cannot.

    SCRIPTURE ENCOURAGEMENT

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

    — Proverbs 3:5–6

If you remember one thing, let it be this...

WHEN GOD TRIES TO STOP YOU...

IT MAY BE BECAUSE HE'S TRYING TO SAVE YOU.

  • Let's talk about it.
Every year at Passover, a lamb was selected and brought into the family's home. Most Christians know that. Here is what most Christians have never been told.

The lamb was not slaughtered immediately. It was brought in on the 10th day of Nisan and it stayed with the family for four full days.

It lived in the house. It ate from their hands. The children played with it. They gave it a name. They fell in love with it.

For four days, that lamb became part of the family.

Then on the 14th of Nisan, the father took the lamb his children had been holding and sleeping beside for four days, and slaughtered it.

The blood was painted on the doorposts. The family ate the lamb together that night. And death passed over every house covered by the blood of the lamb they had loved.

That was the Passover. And it happened every single year for 1,500 years.

Now here is what makes that devastating.

Jesus entered Jerusalem on the 10th of Nisan.

The exact day the Passover lamb was selected.

He rode in while crowds waved palm branches and shouted Hosanna. Selected publicly, the same day every family in Israel was selecting their lamb privately.

Then for four days He was examined.

The Pharisees tested Him. The Sadducees tested Him. The Herodians tested Him. Pilate examined Him. Herod examined Him.

Every single one reached the same conclusion.

"I find no fault in this man."

    No blemish.

For 1,500 years, every Passover lamb had to be inspected for four days and found without blemish before it could be sacrificed. Jesus was inspected for four days and found without fault.

Then on the 14th of Nisan, at the exact hour the Passover lambs were being slaughtered in the Temple, Jesus was nailed to a cross.

The lambs were slaughtered at three in the afternoon. Jesus died at three in the afternoon.

While the priests were killing the Passover lambs and painting their blood on the altar, the actual Passover Lamb was dying on a hill outside the city walls with His blood running down the wood of a cross.

And most Christians who have celebrated Easter their entire lives have no idea that every detail was following a script rehearsed for fifteen centuries.

But here is the part most people have never heard.

Not a single bone of the Passover lamb was allowed to be broken. That was the law. Exodus 12:46.

When the Roman soldiers came to break the legs of the men on the crosses, they broke the legs of the criminal on the left. They broke the legs of the criminal on the right.

When they came to Jesus, He was already dead.

They did not break His bones.

John recorded it and wrote: "These things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: Not one of His bones will be broken."

A law about a lamb, given to Moses in the desert 1,500 years earlier, was fulfilled in the body of a man hanging between two thieves on a Roman cross.

    WEDNESDAY 15TH JULY, 2026

THE KING WHO CAME TO DIE

    ```TEXT: MATTHEW 21:1-11```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` "Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass" (MATTHEW 21:5).

It was Palm Sunday. The crowds spread their garments and shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” They expected a conquering king to crush Rome. What they got was a weeping King on a donkey, riding not to a palace but to a Cross. Jesus fulfilled Zechariah’s prophecy: meek, lowly, yet King. He didn’t come to take power. He came to take your place.

Three truths about this King from Calvary: One, He came in meekness, not in majesty. “Thy King cometh unto thee, meek.” The same King who commands legions chose a colt. At Calvary, He wore thorns, not gold. He rules by love, not by force. Two, He came to fulfill Scripture. Every step from Bethlehem to Jerusalem was written. The donkey, the Hosannas, the rejected stone — all pointed to this week. The Cross was never Plan B; it was the promise from Genesis. Three, He came to save, not to impress. The people cried “Hosanna” meaning “Save us now!” Five days later they cried “Crucify Him.” But Jesus kept riding. He knew true salvation would not come by killing Romans, but by being killed for sinners.

What kind of King are you expecting today? A quick fix, a political answer, a crown without a cross? Behold your King. He is meek, yet mighty. He wept over Jerusalem, yet He would die for it. Don’t miss Him in His lowliness. The donkey ride leads to Calvary’s hill, and that’s where your Hosanna is truly answered.

✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` He rode in low to lift you high — the meek King became the bleeding Savior.

    Job 37:11-13 NKJV
Job 37:11-13 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds.
And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth.
He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy.
Job 36:26-33 "Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him; Nor can the number of His years be discovered.
For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist,
Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man.
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His canopy?
Look, He scatters His light upon it, And covers the depths of the sea.
For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance.
He covers His hands with lightning, And commands it to strike.
His thunder declares it, The cattle also, concerning the rising storm.
Exodus 9:18-26 "Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now.
"Therefore send now and gather your livestock and all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down on every man and every animal which is found in the field and is not brought home; and they shall die."'"
He who feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his livestock flee to the houses.
But he who did not regard the word of the LORD left his servants and his livestock in the field.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt--on man, 0n beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt."
And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt.
So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field.
Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.
Job 38:25-30 "Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, Or a path for the thunderbolt,
    To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one, A wilderness in which there is no man;
To satisfy the desolate waste, And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?
Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
From whose womb comes the ice? And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?
The waters harden like stone, And the surface of the deep is frozen.
1 Kings 18:41-46 Then Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundant of rain."
So Ahab went up to the eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees,
and said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked, and said, "There is nothing." And seven times he said, "Go again."
Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, "There is a cloud, as small as a man's hand, rising out of the sea!" So he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.'"
Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.
Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

  • 2 Kings 5:11-12 NLT But Naaman became angry and stalked away. “I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said. “I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me! Aren’t the rivers of Damascus, the Abana and the Pharpar, better than any of the rivers of Israel? Why shouldn’t I wash in them and be healed?” So Naaman turned and went away in a rage.

Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a peaceful day. Hallelujah. There's a Sunday School hymn taken from James 4:10: "Humble yourself before the LORD, He will lift you up, He will lift you up, He will lift you up, humble yourself before the LORD He will lift you up. " In our reading today we meet King of Aram called Naaman. The Bible describes him as a mighty warrior but adds that he had leprosy. Leprosy in the Bible refers to several bad diseases of the skin. According to the levitical laws, this automatically made you unclean. Through a maiden taken out of Hebrews, the Israelites, Naaman had good news that his condition would be healed. Elisha the man of God instructed him to go dip himself seven times in river Jordan. This did not please Naaman, as he expected an easier or more dignified way from the servant of God as if his condition was respectful. He would also have pilfered cleaner rivers of his city Damascus, river Abana or Pharphar. He had conditions for a condition he couldn't get rid of by himself even with the best medics of his time. This was pride keeping him from his healing. Take a moment and investigate your own life. Have you been proud in some areas hindering God's work on your life? It might be trivial pursuits that makes you feel more worth than what God wants you todo. Remember our recent story about Mordecai, he humbled himself, kept working at the king's gate even when his own raised girl became queen, he remained as the gateman even after being put in king's robe and rode on king's horses around the place. He humbled himself until the right time when God lifted him up. It is the best and right time to look back to first love you had for God. River Jordan was not the place king Naaman liked but it was the place in God's people land where miracles had been delivering. Probably you need to go back to the house of God, probably you need to go back to fellowshipping with others, probably you need to go back to praying harder and trusting in God's Word. Hallelujah. It is time to humble yourself before the LORD. It is time to trust and obey Him more than ever before. God is reminding you that you will never outgrow His wisdom. You will never outgrow needing the place of His meeting. You cannot fight this dear child of God. Your renewal and healing is in your obedience to God's instructions no matter how absurd or unpleasing it might be to you. Humble yourself before the LORD. Take the cross and follow Jesus; bear that cost to remove shame out of your life. God loves you have a blessed day. Shalom. Shalom.

  • Daily pearls from the shore 🫧

    Waiting Rooms

If there were ever a list of the longest waiting, my name would probably be at the top of it.
I remember my college days when my friend and I used to travel from our hometown to our college in another city about an hour and a half away. We did this daily for the first year or so. Every morning, I would reach the bus stop around 6:15 AM and wait. And I would wait. And wait and wait and wait and then I would eventually call her home landline to enquire how far she was, only to discover she was still sleeping! Funny, Isn’t it?

It may be hard to believe, but this happened almost every single day. And it was so hard to wait, as the people would start staring at me, while I stood there the whole time, as there was no place to sit, and no waiting room.
So, if anybody understands waiting and the patience for it, I might still have the best of chances of topping that list.

    WAS IT EASY? NOOOOOOO.
    How did I feel?
At that time, I still had a lot more patience, but was t pleasant? NOT AT ALL.
Did I want to wait? NO WAY.

But waiting comes for all kinds of things in life. It’s easy to wait for a courier these days because we know the date and time. Then, there are things in life for which we wait with no timeline.

And what do we do during that waiting period, especially when we don’t have a timeline?

There was a Prophet named Elijah who lived in a land that had been under drought for years. He told the king that it would rain. Thereafter, he waited.

“Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. ‘Go and look toward the sea,’ he told his servant. And he went up and looked. ‘There is nothing there,’ he said. Seven times Elijah said, ‘Go back.’” (1 Kings 18: 42-43)
There were no clouds, and he had no timeline for when there would be any.
Still, what did Elijah do here?
    He waited. On his knees.
    Was he grumbling? No.
    Did his faith waver? No.
    Did he doubt? No.
    How do we know?
He didn’t have time for all of that.
    He was busy worshipping.
In faith, he declared that God will send rain. In the meantime, He worshipped God.
He waited and hoped. Seven times he sent his servant to check for any sign of rain, while he himself remained on his knees. HE DIDN’T CHANGE HIS POSTURE.
“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and WAIT EXPECTANTLY.” (Psalms 5: 3)
Like the psalmist, Elijah believed that the Lord had heard his voice and would grant his request. And He waited EXPECTANTLY, IN HOPE.

It seems easier said than done. Waiting is easy when we know the timeline.
But sometimes, we don’t know the date of delivery of a promise. In those times, we tend to get up and start fixing the situation ourselves, and end up birthing Ishmaels.

“But they soon forgot what He (GOD) had done and DID NOT WAIT for His plan to unfold.”
    (Psalms 106: 11-13)

God promised Abram a child, but there was no timeline, and after waiting for several years, he and his wife, Sarai, devised a plan and had a baby with a slave girl, naming him Ishmael. Did God not bless Abram with the promised child?
He did. Isaac was born. (Genesis 16:1-16)

It might be easy to believe a promise, but difficult to wait for it to materialise.

Elijah didn’t make plans to beat drums and summon rain just because six times there were no clouds. He worshipped.
Abram and Sarai, on the other hand, started with hopeful waiting for the promise, but gave up soon and made their own plan to fix the delay.

See, it matters what we choose to do in the waiting rooms. We see all kinds of people in the waiting rooms - some people sleep, some read books, some kids play, and some people start walking up and down impatiently.
    Does impatience change anything? NOTHING.
    Does worship change anything? EVERYTHING!

“I remain CONFIDENT of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. WAIT FOR THE LORD; be strong and take heart, and wait for the LORD.”
    (Psalms 27: 13-14)

When we wait and wait expectantly, we hope in confidence. And hope strengthens us to wait more expectantly.

WAITING IS ANOTHER POSTURE OF A DEEPER LEVEL OF TRUST.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40: 31)

CONVERT WAITING ROOMS INTO WORSHIP HALLS,
And witness the goodness of the lord.

And yes, the seventh time, the servant of Prophet Elijah did see a cloud.
AND YES, IT RAINED LIKE ANYTHING.

“The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So, Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’” Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, A HEAVY RAIN STARTED FALLING, and Ahab rode off to Jezreel. The power of the LORD came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt, he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.” (1 Kings 18: 44-45).

Daily pearls from the shore 🫧 Waiting Rooms If there were ever a list of the longest waiting, my name would probably be at the top of it. Seven times Elijah said, ‘Go back.’” (1 Kings 18: 42-43) There were no clouds, and he had no timeline for when there would be any. “In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and WAIT EXPECTANTLY.” (Psalms 5: 3) Like the psalmist, Elijah believed that the Lord had heard his voice and would grant his request. “But they soon forgot what He (GOD) had done and DID NOT WAIT for His plan to unfold.” (Psalms 106: 11-13) God promised Abram a child, but there was no timeline, and after waiting for several years, he and his wife, Sarai, devised a plan and had a baby with a slave girl, naming him Ishmael. Did God not bless Abram with the promised child? He did. Isaac was born. (Genesis 16:1-16) It might be easy to believe a promise, but difficult to wait for it to materialise. ✦ Saddle Up
Talk Is Cheap on a Ranch
Every outfit has met him — the new hand who shows up talking big. Claims he can rope anything with four legs, ride anything with hair, and outwork any man in the bunkhouse. And every seasoned cowboy responds the same way: nobody argues with him. Nobody debates him. They just hand him a rope, point him at the herd, and watch.

Because on a ranch, the proof isn't in the talking. The proof is in the doing. Within one gather, everybody knows exactly what that man is made of — not because of what he claimed, but because of what they witnessed.

The Apostle Paul understood this principle down to his boots. In 2 Corinthians 9, he's writing about a collection being gathered for the suffering believers in Jerusalem — and in verse 13, he says something remarkable about what generous giving actually does. It proves things. It testifies. It shows the watching world that a man's confession of Christ isn't just talk — and it makes people glorify God. This morning, let's ride through it.

    ✦ The Word ✦
    ✦ Holy Scripture
    The Proof of This Ministry
...while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men.

    2 Corinthians 9:13 · NKJV

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

    2 Corinthians 9:6–8 · NKJV

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

    James 2:17 · NKJV

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

    Matthew 5:16 · NKJV

    ✦ Part One ✦
✦ The Obedience of Your Confession
Your Life Is the Proof of Your Words
Look at Paul's phrase: the obedience of your confession. The Corinthians had confessed the gospel of Christ with their mouths. But Paul says their giving was the proof — the demonstration that the confession was real. Their open hands backed up their open mouths.

That's brand-inspector language. When cattle come through the sale barn, the inspector doesn't take the seller's word for whose stock it is. He reads the brand. The mark on the hide is the proof of ownership — visible, verifiable, burned in. Paul is saying your life carries a brand the world can read, and generosity is one of its clearest marks.

"Your confession tells folks whose you claim to be. Your conduct shows them whose you really are."

James says it even harder: faith by itself, without works, is dead. He's not saying works save you — salvation is by grace through faith alone. He's saying living faith always leaves tracks. A horse that never leaves hoofprints isn't standing still — it isn't there at all. And a faith that never produces obedience, generosity, or love isn't dormant. It was never alive.

Cowboy, this morning's question is simple: if a brand inspector examined your life — not your words, your life — whose mark would he find on it?

    ✦ Part Two ✦
    ✦ Liberal Sharing
    The Law of the Chuckwagon
Paul praises the Corinthians for their liberal sharing with them and all men. Not careful sharing. Not calculated sharing. Liberal — generous, open-handed, more than required.

The old West had its own version of that. It was the unwritten law of the chuckwagon: nobody who rode up hungry got turned away. Stranger or friend, hired hand or drifter, you got a plate and a place by the fire. Homesteaders left the cabin unlocked with firewood stacked and coffee on the shelf for whoever might pass through in a storm. Neighbors showed up at branding time without being asked and never sent a bill. That generosity wasn't weakness — it was the backbone of survival in hard country, and it was a matter of honor.

"Nobody ever rode away from a chuckwagon hungry — and nobody should ever walk away from a Christian empty."

Notice too the reach of it: sharing with them and all men. The Corinthians were Gentiles giving to Jewish believers they'd never met — across every line their culture drew. Chuckwagon generosity didn't check your background before it filled your plate, and neither does gospel generosity. It flows to the brother in the church pew and to the stranger on the road, because it isn't responding to the worthiness of the receiver. It's reflecting the character of the Giver.

What liberal sharing looks like from the saddle

    Your Provision

The paycheck, the harvest, the extra — held with an open hand, ready to feed whoever God sends up your trail.

    Your Time

Showing up at your neighbor's branding — the hospital visit, the fence that needs two men, the widow's truck that won't start.

    Your Fire

A place at your table and a seat by your fire for the lonely, the drifting, and the ones nobody else invites.

And here's the promise that funds it all — verse 8: God is able to make all grace abound toward you... that you may have an abundance for every good work. The rancher who shares his hay isn't gambling; he's trusting the God who grows the grass. You cannot out-give the One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

    ✦ Part Three ✦
    ✦ They Glorify God
The Glory Rides Past You to Him
Now catch the destination of it all. When the Jerusalem believers received the Corinthians' gift, Paul says they didn't throw a parade for Corinth. They glorified God. The generosity was so clearly the fruit of the gospel that the praise sailed right past the givers and landed on the Giver of all things.

That's the exact target Jesus set in Matthew 5:16 — let your light shine so that men see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Not glorify you. Him.

"A good hand doesn't work to get his name talked about. He works so the brand he rides for is respected in every county it's known."

A cowboy who rides for a great outfit understands this instinctively. When he does his job with excellence, folks don't just say "that's a good man" — they say "that outfit hires good men." His work raises the reputation of the brand. And when you live open-handed, keep your word, show up for your neighbor, and give like God's supply has no bottom — the watching world doesn't just conclude you're generous. They conclude your God is real.

That's the proof of the ministry. That's the obedience of your confession. That's a cowboy's life preaching a sermon his mouth never has to finish. So ride out this morning with open hands — and let every gift, every favor, every plate filled at your fire send the glory right on up the trail to the One who deserves it.

    ✦ Reflection ✦
    ✦ Sit with This
Questions to Carry Into the Day
If someone examined the proof of your life this past month — your giving, your time, your open hands — what would it testify about your confession of Christ?

The chuckwagon law fed stranger and friend alike. Is your generosity reaching "all men," or only the folks who are easy to give to?

Paul says God supplies "an abundance for every good work." Is there a generosity God has been nudging you toward that you've been holding back on out of fear of not having enough?

When people experience your kindness, does the glory land on you — or does it travel past you to your Father in heaven? How can you aim it higher this week?

    ✦ Morning Prayer
    Let Us Pray
    Heavenly Father,

You are the great Giver — You gave Your own Son before I ever gave You a thing. Every acre, every animal, every dollar and every breath I have came off Your supply wagon first.

So this morning I'm asking You to make my life the proof of my confession. I don't want to be the hand who talks big at the bunkhouse and comes up empty at the gather. Let my giving, my time, my table, and my fire testify that the gospel I claim has actually taken hold of me.

Teach me the law of the chuckwagon, Lord — nobody turned away, nobody sent off empty. Stretch my generosity past the easy people to all men, the way Yours stretched all the way to me. And when I'm tempted to grip tight out of fear, remind me that You are able to make all grace abound, and that I cannot out-give the God who owns it all.

Most of all — let the glory ride past me and land on You. Let folks see the work and praise the Father. That's the brand I want my life to carry.

    In Jesus' Name, Amen.

    ✦ Cowboy Motivational Quote ✦
"Any man can claim a brand with his mouth. The proof is in how he rides, how he gives, and who gets fed at his fire. Live so open-handed that when folks see your tracks, they don't praise the cowboy — they praise the God he rides for."

THE SIN OF INSENSITIVITY THAT CONVERTED THE MAN OF GOD INTO A MAN "OFF" GOD!

Grace, peace, and the awakening fire of the Holy Ghost to the BELOVED, the end-time watchmen, and the uncompromising disciples of Jesus Christ!

Today, the Spirit of the Lord is weeping over a generation of gifted, anointed, and called individuals who are dying spiritually—not by the hands of obvious witchcraft, but by the silent, deadly assassin of spiritual insensitivity. I am bringing you a heavy, soul-piercing apostolic warning. We are going to look at one of the most sobering and terrifying accounts in the archives of scripture.

It is the story of how an accurate, powerful, and authentic Man OF God became a derailed, disqualified, and destroyed Man OFF God.

The Anatomy of a Spiritual Casualty (1 Kings 13)

In 1 Kings 13, God raises up an unnamed, young prophet from Judah. This man was sharp, full of the Spirit, and carrying a dangerous level of authority. He walked right into Bethel, confronted the wicked King Jeroboam, paralyzed the king’s hand, and caused a demonic altar to split wide open!

God gave this young prophet a strict, non-negotiable commission:

"For so it was commanded me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.’"

    — 1 Kings 13:9 (NKJV)

He successfully resisted the King’s bribe. He resisted the lure of wealth and royal favor. But beloved, the devil doesn’t only tempt you with kings; sometimes, he tempts you with familiarity.

Enter the Old Prophet of Bethel.

    The Trap of Spiritual Insensitivity

This Old Prophet rode out, found the young Man of God resting under an oak tree, and lied to him:

"He said to him, 'I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, "Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water."' (He was lying to him.)"

    — 1 Kings 13:18 (NKJV)

Here is the tragedy: The young prophet, who was sensitive enough to hear God in Judah, became utterly insensitive in Bethel. He allowed the title of an old, compromised leader to override the direct voice of God in his own spirit. He went back, ate, drank, and because he lost his spiritual sensitivity, he was met by a lion on his way home and killed.

His destiny was aborted. He became a Man OFF God.

How did this happen? How do we fall into this same trap today?

Resting Under the Oak Tree of Comfort: (1 Kings 13:14). Spiritual insensitivity begins the moment you relax your guard. When you stop fasting, when your prayer altar cools down, and when you seek "rest" before the mission is fully completed, your spiritual antennas become dull.

The Deception of Shared Titles: The young prophet dropped his guard because the old man said, "I too am a prophet." Hear me! Just because someone holds a title, wears a collar, or leads a massive ministry does NOT mean they have a fresh word for your life. Insensitivity makes you blindly trust a title instead of testing the spirit.

Elevating "Angelic" Encounters Over God’s Written/Spoken Word: The old prophet claimed an angel gave him a new revelation that contradicted God’s original command. If a prophecy, a mentor, or a "revelation" contradicts the direct instruction God gave you in the secret place, reject it!

    The Prophetic Alarm

We are losing too many anointed men and women to the sin of insensitivity! You used to feel a check in your spirit when you watched certain things, but now you are numb. You used to weep in the presence of God, but now you just check your watch. You used to know when a relationship was toxic, but now you justify it because an "old prophet" (a compromised voice) told you it was okay.

Your insensitivity is stripping you of your spiritual armor! It is time to awake from your slumber!

A Prayer for the Restoration of Spiritual Sensitivity

"Lord God of Hosts, I fall on my face in deep repentance. I am terrified by how easily my heart has become numb. Forgive me for the sin of spiritual insensitivity. Forgive me for resting under the 'oak tree' of comfort when I should have been vigilant. Forgive me for listening to compromised voices that contradict Your holy instructions. Holy Ghost, shock my spirit back to life! Open my spiritual eyes, unstop my spiritual ears. I refuse to be a casualty of deception. I refuse to end up a Man or Woman 'OFF' God. Restore the sharpness of my discernment today. I surrender my will completely to Yours. In the matchless, terrifying, and mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen!"

    #SON OF LIGHT
#DAILY LIGHT THE SIN OF INSENSITIVITY THAT CONVERTED THE MAN OF GOD INTO A MAN "OFF" GOD! 🚨 Grace, peace, and the awakening fire of the Holy Ghost to the BELOVED, the end-time watchmen, and the uncompromising disciples of Jesus Christ! The Anatomy of a Spiritual Casualty (1 Kings 13) In 1 Kings 13, God raises up an unnamed, young prophet from Judah. This man was sharp, full of the Spirit, and carrying a dangerous level of authority. He walked right into Bethel, confronted the wicked King Jeroboam, paralyzed the king’s hand, and caused a demonic altar to split wide open! God gave this young prophet a strict, non-negotiable commission: "For so it was commanded me by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.’" — 1 Kings 13:9 (NKJV) He successfully resisted the King’s bribe. He resisted the lure of wealth and royal favor. But beloved, the devil doesn’t only tempt you with kings; sometimes, he tempts you with familiarity. Enter the Old Prophet of Bethel. The Trap of Spiritual Insensitivity This Old Prophet rode out, found the young Man of God resting under an oak tree, and lied to him: "He said to him, 'I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, "Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water."' (He was lying to him.)" — 1 Kings 13:18 (NKJV) Here is the tragedy: The young prophet, who was sensitive enough to hear God in Judah, became utterly insensitive in Bethel. THE POWER OF PRAYER AND GODLY INTERCESSION

    A WORD FROM THE WORD:

"Take your lord’s servants with you and have Solomon my son mount my own mule and take him down to Gihon. There have Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel. Blow the trumpet and shout, ‘Long live King Solomon!’" 1Kings 1:33-34 NKJV.

David as an old man, was no longer active as he used to be. Adonijah his son seized the occasion to take over the throne and he got followers behind him. Adonijah probably felt that since the heir apparent to the throne - Amnon had died and the next in line too - Absalom was dead, the privilege of being the next king naturally fell on him according to tradition, and since the king was out of shape, he couldn't continue to wait endlessly. This also follows that, it could be a possible reason that Joab, and some other faithful men of David aligned with him.

Having been alerted by Nathan, the seer, about the ongoing strategic royal succession intrigues in the palace, Bathsheba, the mother of Solomon agreed with the seer to go see King David and remind him of his earlier promise to have Solomon succeed him as king; but that Bathsheba would go in first, followed by Nathan, the seer. This intervention, got David to instruct the harnessing of his mule, and had Solomon rode on it around Gihon and installed him as king in his stead and thus frustrated the travesty of Adonijah.

The lesson here is that you should never be afraid to take your matters to God in prayers even when it seems you have lost the battle. You cannot decide that it is over unless you have heard from God.
You are God's special child that should ride on His mule to showcase your kingship and priesthood.
If Bathsheba had kept quiet, Solomon would have lost out on his inheritance.
Thank goodness for the gift of men like Nathan who encouraged her not to give up on having King David fulfil his promise to make Solomon king in his place.

Adonijah conceded to his loss that day and he didn't make a fuss about it. He knew he had no right or power to challenge the King's decision and doing such at that time would amount to foolishness and possible death.

    PRAYER BULLETS:

ABBA Father, thank You for Your loving kindness to me. May I never, out of fear or discouragement cease to come to You with my needs.

May I find Your favour of riding on Your mule to showcase my kingship and priesthood.
